The partners felt townhomes were undervalued and liked the protection of the HOA against unplanned capital expenditures. Later that year, Matt left his job at Target to pursue a career in fundraising but continued to work with his partners to grow their new company, Minnesota Capital Management (MCM). In the years following 2011, Matt and his partners purchased 4-5 townhomes per year by reinvesting profits and investing personal capital. Everything changed in the summer of 2015 when Matt and his partners found their first multi-family investment, 75 units across three properties.  Matt left his W2 job in May 2018 and moved his family back to Minneapolis to run MCM full-time. In the process, Matt and his partners founded their own property management company, Northwoods Servicing (NWS). NWS manages the Twin Cities portion of MCM's portfolio and has allowed the partners to own more of the value chain.  Today, Matt and his wife live in Minneapolis with their three kids. They are active in their church and enjoy all that Minnesota has to offer. Real Estate has given Matt and his family the gift of being planted and he wants to help you do the same. Get in Touch with MattWebsite: Endurus CapitalLinkedIn: Matt BrawnerTo Connect With UsPlease visit our website www.bonavestcapital.com and click here to leave a rating and written review!

Interviews by Brainard Carey

Omaha-born, New York-based artist Tim Brawner produces a practice of painting that mines the space between the uncanny and the grotesque. Seeking to produce in the viewer a compelling affect of unease, Brawner utilizes the idiom of illustration to render images of alienation, through the purposeful bricolage of disparate representational elements. In each work, a persistently fine, monochromatic, painterly execution meets the artist's formal drafting process of drawing and montage in order to achieve what Brawner terms a pathos of ‘weirdness': a form of defamiliarization which is also a seduction, an entreat, into a strange representational space nonetheless evoking trepidation and dread. These visual chimeras undermine the spectators' traditional binary frames of reference, eliding at once those of conservative Western Christian morality and those of liberal secular paradigms of Enlightened empathy. As the artist intones, this ‘weirding' is “part of the drama of the work; it is an ontological struggle [of an alternative world beyond our given dichotomies] to be represented… to come into being.” Tim Brawner (b. 1991, Omaha, Nebraska) received an MFA from Yale School of Art in 2020. Exhibitions include Zang Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; PAGE (NYC), New York; Yale University Gallery, New Haven, CT; Ashes On Ashes, New York; Yale Painting & Printmaking MFA, Galerie Perrotin; Papa Projects, Minneapolis, MN; Union Pacific, London; Unit London, London; Primary, Miami, FL. Brawner will have his first solo exhibition with Management in 2023. In this episode we've got Wes Brawner. He is the owner of Wes Brawner Events and Pennywhistle Creative, which are DJ and videography businesses, respectively. Wes has been in the wedding business for around 13 years now. Beginning as a DJ, Wes built his business on the back of his reputation and on having his own equipment. He went from doing 5 weddings a year to topping out at 95 in a year. He picked up videography in 2016, initially as a way to get promotional footage of himself, before stepping in to be videographer in an emergency. The business grew from there. When Wes meets with clients, he wants to know their story. Knowing more about the couple helps him connect with them and to tailor his services to them. When it comes to planning as a DJ, it's all about customization and invoking the couples' energy. It's also important for Wes to go to each table and connect with guests so they feel more comfortable coming up to make requests. Before you book with Wes, make sure that you have done your research. That goes for any vendor you book: make sure you know the kind of work they do to make sure you gel. Only book what you need for your day.  Don't overbook your vendor timewise, because it's money you don't need to spend. Budget is important in wedding planning. but it's more important to understand that not everything will be perfect. Always have a plan B. Wes also adds that he wants people to drop the take home gifts. It's more work and money for you that you don't need to spend.   Instagram: www.instagram.com/wesbrawner www.instagram.com/wesbrawnerevents www.instagram.com/pennywhistlecreative

Austin Brawner is a legend in the eCommerce space, namely because his podcast - Ecommerce Influence - is one of the most popular in the industry.  Austin has worked with, and is friends with, many of the top DTC brands in eCommerce - MVTM Watches, Pura Vida Bracelets, Blenders Eyewear, Four Sigmatic and many others.  In fact, we reminisce on the podcast about a dinner we both attended in San Diego with the founders of those companies all together in a room hanging out and swapping stories. What separates eCommerce brands that scale vs. those that stall and plateau? What separates the Bonobos and Away Luggage companies of the world from an eCommerce company that hits a ceiling at 5 or 10 million per year in sales?  Austin has a unique perspective on this topic, having walked alongside dozens of the biggest eCommerce brands of our generation. In this episode Austin and I break down the following: What you need to know about AOV and LTV and how it directly impacts your ability to scale. How product market fit impacts scale potential - and why combining a hungry market with a product people want to identify with is so important.   Demand Generation vs. Demand Capture…which is better and which lends itself to scale. The road map to building a team and scaling your business Why a CEO's role is mainly about people and product and what that means. How and when to hire an agency. Why it's hard to scale single SKU businesses and why line extension is imperative.

In this episode, discover the answers to these burning questions and more: Will 2019 see an increase in use of this communication channel for small businesses to international corporations?
