#122 In this episode we bring to life the idea of a new format for the podcast, besides adding new sections, Dereck talks about 3 games instead of 1. He reviews Lost Ruins of Arnak, Rolling Realms, and Eleven. He also takes the time machine and goes back to episode 22 to review what was talked about.
#121 We continue with the 3 games review to determine a champion between ENDLESS WINTER, DUNE IMPERIUM, and ARNAK.
I once saw a video of a woman driving a Shelby GT350 Mustang on the Autobahn. It hit 275 kph without breaking a figurative sweat, roaring its primal power the entire way. I was petrified even watching the video. This is to say nothing of the terror I felt seeing it take offramps at roughly 100 kph, which is not terribly advisable with a vehicle that is not known for its cornering. Of course, there are many sections of the Autobahn with speed limits--and even more with no Mustangs on it at all. Tragedies heaped upon tragedies.Games Played Last Week:00:54 -boop. MARCUS BIGNEYHere comes Fantasy Flight's body, mourned by Michael Walker: who, though he had no hand in its death, shall receivethe benefit of its dying, a place in thehobby; as which of you shall not? WALKERFriends, gamers, hobbyists, lend me your ears;I come to bury Fantasy Flight, not to praise it.The evil that publishers do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones; So let it be with Fantasy Flight. The noble BigneyHath told you FFG was ambitious:If it were so, it was a grievous fault,And grievously hath FFG answer'd it.Here, under leave of Bigney and the rest--For Bigney is an honourable man;So are they all, all honourable men--Come I to speak in FFG's funeral. It was my friend, faithful and just to me:But Bigney says it was ambitious; And Bigney is an honourable man.It hath published many games home to RomeWhose playing did the gaming public thrill:Did this in FFG seem ambitious? When that the games were broken, FFG hath wept:Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:Yet Bigney says it was ambitious; And Bigney is an honourable man.I speak not to disprove what Bigney spoke,But here I am to speak what I do know. You all did love it once, not without cause:What cause withholds you then, to mourn for it?O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;My heart is in the coffin box there with expansions,And I must pause till it come back to me.01:32 AYURIS: Imperial 2030 (Mac Gerdts, PD-Verlag, 2009)Games Played Last Week:04:08 -Yokohama (Hisashi Hayashi, Tasty Minstrel Games, 2016)07:54 -Vampire Queen (Wolfgang Kramer, Schmidt Spiele, 2016)11:40 -Regicide (Paul Abrahams, Luke Badger, & Andy Richdale, Badgers from Mars, 2020)12:13 -Pickomino Deluxe (Reiner Knizia, Zoch Verlag, 2018)14:25 -Equinox (Reiner Knizia, Plan B Games, 2021)18:33 -Rhino Hero (Scott Frisco & Steven Strumpf, HABA, 2011)18:33 -Rhino Hero: Super Battle (Scott Frisco & Steven Strumpf, HABA, 2017)21:50 -The Search for Planet X (Matthew O'Malley & Ben Rosset, Renegade Game Studios, 2020)23:15 -Descent: Legends in the Dark (Kara Centell-Dunk & Nathan I. It's time to trade some spices and make that sweet, sweet gold. Alex and Kaz hit the silk road with their bushels of saffron, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon in the Plan B Games kick-off game, Century Spice Road.
Chris is back from Pax Unplugged 2019 and had a chance to see or try a whole bunch of games. Join us as he runs through these and the con as a whole to learn what you should keep your eyes out for. First up, make sure you complete our Game of the Year poll on boardgamersanonymous.com and help us narrow down the nominations for this year's awards. Anthony shares his acquisition disorder for the week with the announcement of the Gloomhaven sequel, Frosthaven, and then reviews Azul: Summer Pavilion, the newest version of the mega-hit from Plan B Games. Finally, Chris digs into the games and sights of Pax Unplugged this year. Learn how the con was and what games to keep an eye out for.

In today's episode we look at an awesome game Azul, a board game by Michael Kiesling at Plan B Games. This game is for those people that wish they could tile the Alhambra, but in Portugal for a King, and hate themselves, for dropping tiles on the ground. If it wasn't your fantasy before, I'm sure it is now! You have to select the tiles which will most hurt your opponent. Rather than what you think will look pretty on the wall of the palace. This is a lighter game for us, but still showed great strength in components and replay ability. Get the full story by listening to our podcast! Zapraszamy do słuchania. […]

It's the big 75, and we're reviewing the newest Century game from Emerson Matsuuchi and Plan B Games, Century: Eastern Wonders. How is this follow-up to the acclaimed Century: Spice Road? Well, there's still spices, but there's no road. There's an ocean of islands for you to go about and ...still trade cubes. But it's fun. Check out our full thoughts!
This week we stumble on the terrible, horrifying fact that there are other hobbies than boardgames, and we take pity on those poor lamented souls who are enslaved in their thrall. This week we stumble on the terrible, horrifying fact that there are other hobbies than boardgames, and we take pity on those poor lamented souls who are enslaved in their thrall. Just what is scrapbooking, anyway? Walker has a theory, but no one is really sure. With the recent release of Century: Eastern Wonders, new attention is being paid to the gateway series of games from Plan B Games and Emerson Matsuuchi. To celebrate, this week we're looking at six games you might like if you already like Spice Road, the first entry in the series. We then dive into Acquisition Disorders with Anthony discussing Starship Samurai and Chris delving into Tang Garden from ThunderGryph Games and Folded Space, a new game insert Kickstarter campaign. At the table this week, Anthony looks at Coimbra, a new one from Eggertspiel we had a chance to pick up at Origins, and Chris reviews Round House from Emperor S4 and Deep Water Games. We're putting two of the best abstract games head-to-head in this week's episode. Fighting out the red corner, Azul by Plan B Games and fighting out of the blue corner, Sagrada by Floodgate Games. We went from the windows to the walls in our newest episode and had a heck of a time breaking down two of the best abstract games from 2017. Our buddy Erik (aka Jeezy) joined us to talk pros, cons and in-betweens about these two darling titles. We also spend some time talking about the good ol' days and pizza.
Today AJ and Jeremiah have a little chat about Plan B Games and their newest games Azul and Century: Eastern Wonders! Don’t forget our Indiegogo campaign is still up and running! Hope to see you there!
We take time this episode to discuss four games we have been playing. In addition to Nathan's update on Imperial Assault, we discuss Azul, from Michael Kiesling and Plan B Games, Exodus Fleet from TMG, and Tichu, published in English by Rio Grande Games.

Zapraszamy do słuchania. Przy okazji czemu by nie polubić naszej […]
