Wally and Steve are back at it, revisiting the 2021 sleeper hit Nobody! This time it's just the two best buds breaking down the Bob Odenkirk-led action flick with fresh eyes, new takes, and the same chaotic Decision Reel energy. Has time made this movie even better? Or did the hype cloud our original judgment? Find out as the bromance returns to the couch for some well-earned re-review mayhem.
Executing a fight scene requires a lot of attention to detail, but spending time to get the right fight choreographer and stunt doubles to execute their vision can make for a rewarding watch. In the case of stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski, his directorial debut John Wick helped spark a franchise that moviegoers love due to its well-choreographed action. Although the series has become a common example of great fighting, there’s a whole host of other examples that date back decades. Hong Kong action cinema has given so much to the action genre, having helped popularize high-speed martial arts fighting for international audiences; through this style of filmmaking, audiences were introduced to filmmaker John Woo and actor Jackie Chan. Joining us to share their extensive knowledge of fight scenes are Tim Cogshell and Andy Klein. Join Eric and Kevin in Part 4 of 6 Degrees of Schwarzenegger as we dive into the wild world of Lionheart (1990), a Jean-Claude Van Damme 80s action classic packed with underground street fighting, French Foreign Legion drama, and pure chaos. In this penultimate episode, we break down Leon's brutal racquetball court brawl, the MPs' hilariously bad stakeout, and the emotional family reunion with Elaine and Nicole. From Van Damme's iconic kicks to Joshua's slick suit and Cynthia's villainous schemes, we explore how this cult action flick blends absurdity with heart. On the latest episode of This is CineMMA, the MMA Fighting movie review crew walk the long road back to redemption with the 2020 drama Bruised, written, directed, and starring Berry. Casey Leydon pay respect to Berry and Shevchenko's incredible work, while also pointing out what the film gets right and what it gets wrong about the world of fighting. We asked our team what weird sound they like to fall asleep to and they all well and truly delivered. Lizzie likes to listen to the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills episode in Amsterdam when Kim Richards fights fellow housewife Eileen. Jess likes to listen to backs being cracked by chiropractors and Fitz likes to listen to old Bob Ross episodes. Plus we want to know do you think the idea of ‘slow dating' is a good thing? After all, slow and steady wins the race doesn't it? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
At the Deucecast Movie Show, we celebrate the most special days of the year, like Christmas, and Mother's Day, and Thanksgiving, and of course, both May the 4th Be With You, and it's follow, Revenge of the Fifth, and it's spiritual sequel Revenge of the Sixth. To help Mikey, Dave, and #XLessDrEarl celebrate, we invite in first time Friend of the Show, videographer and vlogger and Disney sorta influencer and hardcore Star Wars fiend, THE Derek Frank! First, a little background on Derek to open the show, followed by the return of America's favorite easy Q&A, Simple Star Wars Trivia (spoiler alert - Mikey always dominates), then a review on the epic re-watch everyone had this weekend over Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. And finally, the guys count down their favorite Star Wars fight scenes - not the epic space battles, but one on one or one on five or five on a hundred -- no Star Destroyers, rather blasters and space swords -- and to make the pot even sweeter, the lists cover all the screen media, including TV shows, not just the movies. And a quick chat on Tom Hanks Playtone movie studio!
The Finleys give their favorite movie fight scenes that don't include karate or guns.
