Welcome back to part 2 of my conversation with the incredible Mark Allen! Dubbed the greatest endurance athlete of all time by ESPN, Mark is sharing the secrets behind his amazing results. Today, in particular, we’re focusing on mindset and motivation. If you haven’t heard part 1 yet, I highly recommend you do that first so you don’t miss any of the wisdom he shares. Mindset is a big part of triathlon training and races. Whether you’re gearing up for a major workout or standing at the start line, the thoughts running through your mind greatly impact your performance. He shares the moment from his first triathlon when he realised what a difference they made. When a competitor passed him, he felt the doubt creep in, his body tightened up and everything started to feel harder. Taking a moment to clear his mind he was able to acknowledge there was still plenty of time to retake his positon. This allowed him to regain his stride and overtake the competitor, securing fourth place amongst legends like Dave Scott and Scott Molina. A lot of people use affirmations to fight the doubt, and while it helped for training, Mark found they felt hollow when the fatigue of raceday sets in. Instead, quieting your mind reduces anxiety and allows you to give your best. It’s also a great tool outside of racing. Whether it’s an intense workout or one of life’s difficult moments, the ability to pause and find that quiet is invaluable. Realising it’s okay to let certain tasks wait if a larger priority needs attention helps in balancing life and triathlons. We then pivoted to an important aspect of training—periodisation. Mark suggests training should be broken down into manageable segments, so you can avoid risk of becoming overwhelmed. Many athletes make the mistake of constant training without rest, which can lead to physical and mental fatigue. But Mark emphasises the importance of recognising and addressing feelings of burnout or self-doubt. Sometimes a lack of motivation might be a signal to rest or recalibrate your goals. This is particularly important for age groupers juggling various commitments alongside their training. It’s about consistency and realistic goal-setting—stretching just beyond your comfort zone to discover what you’re truly capable of. Finally Mark shares how the lessons learned in triathlon can be applied to life. Accepting that achieving big goals often takes longer and requires more energy than anticipated can prevent burnout. And a mindset of patience and learning will make the journey rewarding, regardless of the outcome. On this episode of the QNow Mark Bland and Jason Kull are joined by Keegan Emmert an amazing local St Louis Street magician. First up it's obvious the GOP is in disarray because Hunter Biden showed up at their Congressional meeting and decided to leave right before MTG spoke! This left everyone in the building speechless and even the CNN camera's left the event to follow Hunter and his team into the halls with their cameras. Taking the cameras away from the GOP really was the worst thing for them because they didn't get to pretend and put on a show for America. The gentleman discuss. Next up we discuss Keegan and where he grew up and a little bit about his background in the game of magic. Keegan asked for the guys to bring a deck of cards so that they were sealed and they knew that he hadn't touched them. He proceeds to discuss his upbringing, a little about his wife and their early year as well as the ability to perform tricks on the fly and how people respond. Next up the guys are treated to getting to see Keegan in full form! Finally Mark told Keegan before the show started that there was a special ending to it. Mark found a list of objects that may or may not be able to fit in a human butt. So the question really is "will it fit in a butt"? Download to find out!

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Terri and Mark Stemann to the podcast. They were last on the podcast Season 4, Episodes 47, 70 and 97. Their seven children were kidnapped from them in 2016 under the Color of Law and they have been holding their children hostage. Now they have been in this for 7.5 years. However, they have discovered a CHILD TRAFFICKING ring operating within Jefferson County, Louisville, KY and they have thousands of pages of evidence to show the picture to prove it. They pursued an avenue for justice and remedy through all state and federal law enforcement agencies and yet they have been denied and turned away. Mark and Terri had been actively seeking an attorney all across the country who could help them in filing a suit and they were getting a lot reasons why they couldn't help them from the immunity reasons which are unlawful; there is a federal law and constitution that prohibits immunity as it is a right as WE THE PEOPLE possess, and a variety of other reasons. Finally Mark and Terri NOW have broken through and have been able to connect with an attorney that will look into their case and have an opportunity to pursue a FEDERAL ACTION that may potentially benefit not only themselves but will set presidency to bring RELIEF to other people. There are still a lot of obstacles they will face. BUT IT IS A SIGN OF HOPE. They are still unable to connect with their three oldest children as they are unresponsive and the youngest three are still held hostage by the criminals that facilitated the scheme. Mark and Terri have good news as they have connected with their son. They are encouraged, as he still REMEMBERS his upbringing and their joyful and happy home. As reached the point of aging, he was able to escape the environment in which he and his sibling were being abused. We discussed the psychological warfare that is taking place within CPS and Foster Care and how children are brainwashed. The disregard for PARENTAL AUTHORITY and how that AFFECTS the child and the TAXPAYERS are unknowingly FUNDING IT.We don't know what our children are being exposed to. The theater is well known for being "The Dollar Show" along with a couple other classic cinema's no longer in the area. Anthony and his partners are revitalizing the old building and bringing new nostalgia for the 2020's! This leads into the Tournament of Pop Culture: Best Teen Movie (bracket #1). Mark and Jason are once again doing a huge multi-week bracket for teen movies and this episode is ground zero for the first section: Best High School Drama. These are all movies where High school is a setting and there is shenanigans going on all over the place. Did your movie make the cut? Is it in another section of the bracket...well don't fret we have three more weeks of movies before we get to the finale. Finally Mark and Jason bid farwell to their new friend of the show and dig into some happenings around the country and some poltiics. First a man is choked out and killed on a NY subway and the gents break down whether the man should get manslaughter or murder for killing the homeless man. Also it seems that Desantis and Elon just keep doing horrible things to keep their name going, but the minute they stop, everyone will ignore them. All this and much more on this episode of The Qnow!
WRESTLEMANIA SEASON is upon us and our friend Alfred Konuwa of Forbes magazine has supplied the Qnow with a unique tournament of pop culture designed for our resident wrestler Mark Bland and the cast to pick apart and determine a winner. Alfred has put together the top 16 WRESTLEMANIA moments of all time and we break it down tournament bracket style to figure out what is the Best moment in the history of WWE Wrestlemania's! Did your moment make the list? Would you have chosen this moment over the one that moved on? Find all this out when you lsiten to this weeks Tournament of Pop culture! Also Mark recently had something go viral and he decides to bring up the value of that within the business of Radio and media. Many times Mark has gone to get jobs, they want to know the relevancy of his career. His impact and what he can do. Mark shows the team and discusses the amount of impact he has had and how that translates to success within the medium of radio and mainstream media. Finally Mark and the guys decide to talk about the Russians and their ability ro down our drones and create havoc in a war they already are pushing on the world. Is putin ready for that kind of trouble and does the USA have vested interest in moving forward to fight against Putin potentially. They discuss all of this and more on this episode of the show!
Legendary St. Louis media personality REAL ROCK TOM TERBROCK joins the show for an unforgettable tournament of pop culture. Jason Kull and Mark Bland welcome Tom Terbrock to the QNow for some much needed discussion and a run through some of the greatest metal music of all time. Tom spent many days working at a other political radio stations with his cohort Dave Glover producing one of the best radio shows in St. Louis Broadcast history. And Tom is not a fan of discussing the politics anymore. Find out why it bothers him so much! Next up Tom brings up Prowrestling and the fact that Mark just had a match last month against Shaft for the commissionership. Mark has to explan to Tom how he was screwed over by the management of MMWA and cheated out of his rightful win! This brings up other wrestling and then eventually gets back to radio and learning how you know you are doing well or became popular in broadcasting. Tom tells a story Mark knows all too well and the two disucss their less than stellar past issues with hate in the industry. Finally Mark, Jay and Tom take a crack at the Tournament of Pop Culture: Best Metal Albums of all time. Yes Iron Maiden was in the tournament. Mark, a bit frightened byt the potential reaction, put together a lit of the best metal albums of all time. Some taken from the RollingStone list of albums, some personally thrown in there...but reagrdless, a TOPC that is designed for the guest. Did Mark do good? Is your metal album on the list? Did the album you thougth would win, actually win...We find out on this episode of the show.
Once upon a time, Donald Trump went to Puerto Rico to throw Paper Towels at the people because of a natural disaster. Cut to 2023 and he made another Trip as former President to East Palestine, Ohio to give them water and throw hats to them at Mcdonalds. This was to show he was the leader the country needed while Joe Biden was handling things as President around the world. Needless to say this was another photo op for the orange man and it did nothing to bolster his anti-liberal argument. Joe Biden has already offered the Fed's help in the situation on day 2 of it existing, but the Ohio Governor Dewine declined the help. So here we stand. Mark Bland, your host, along with Jason Kull and Matt Krueger break down and discuss the East Palestine train derailment along with turning their focus to Russia where it seems Putin is losing ground a year deep into the war with Ukraine. He has decided to pull out of the last Treaty regarding nuclear arms, which means he is going to try and use them at some point. Hence the potential for World War 3 to begin with China potentially backing Russia. And while this goes on, in the USA Marjorie Taylor Greene, a georgia Congresswoman has decided to ask the RED STATES of the US to secede creating the potential for another Civil War. Seems that republicans are War hungry! Finally Mark puts Matt Krueger and Jason Kull to a test of wits! Jason found a 90's trivia game at the station and decided to see who would be the ultimate 1990's trivia champ. Matt was younger and had more influence in his childhood during that time, but Jason was older and in college, so his influences might give him a leg up. We all find out who the real trivia champ of the 90's is on this episode of The QNow!
Welp it seems Mark posted something to social media and it caught him some flack. But it's not that national kinda flack that typically is associated with a social media post...it's more localized and people calling offline to challenge what the post said. On this Episode of The Q, Alex Elias joins Mark and Jason Kull to discuss Mark's recent post where he claimed in his prime athleticness, Mark said he was as good as any other professional athlete and just as athletic. Now Mark didn't say he was a professional football player and could beat Micah Parsons in football today....BUT... back in his prime, with all things working properly, he was as athletically gifted as a Micah Parsons or other professional athletes. Alex vehemently disagrees with this and argues that Mark could never have been the same caliber as a All Pro Football player....But then Mark starts breaking down his size, his sport, what they wear versus a heavily padded football player....Does Mark change the mind of Alex, listen and find out! Then Mark and the guys discuss the Brittney Griner prisoner swap where Donald Trump came out and said he could have done the prisoner swap for Paul whelan back in his presidency, but he decided not to do it. Just like the wall he didn't build and the Covid he didn't stop. The gentleman discuss the upcoming announcement of his Trump NFT cards, Viktor Bout (the other half of the prisoner swap) and explain how the negotiations between the biden Whitehouse and Putin went regarding the Prisoner Swap. Finally Mark and Jay wants to really get to know Alex a lot better and starts to ask some difficult questions of Alex. This comes on the heels of a personal friend that is dying that Mark had a chance to talk with and it made him emotional and want to find out more about his personal friends. Alex, Jay and Mark discuss the questions as they pertain to their lives in 2022. All this and much more on the new Q!
Ahh we made it to the midway point of life. The 2022 midterms are here everyone and Mark Bland is joined by a bevy of gentlemen to discuss all the upcoming fun we will have this week! First up Mark sits down and talks with Mike Eise and Jonathan May about the way the government and elections in the USA are setup. Eise believes this is all contrived and ptu together by the Media and the powers that be to keep the country separated on purpose. Mark and Jonathan seem to think that peope naturally gravitate the way they want and that creates the separation just like in the animal kingdom. Can we get these guy to agree? Next up, KSDK channel 5 in St. Louis (the NBC affiliate ksdk.com) lends their political coordinator to the Q for a interview. Mark Maxwell joins the show to discuss how this election will proceed forward after the 2020 election denying. Mark and the boys discuss the potential for republicans to use their congressional advantage to bring libs to their knees as well as what are the topics and ballot options people are talking about going into this Mid-term. Finally Mark and Jonathan bid adieu to Mike Eise and continue to break down the ballot initivatives for Missouri in the 2022 election and this leads to some movie talk. Mark and Jonathan both saw the movie Barbarian and had differing opinions on the outcome of the movie and who the focus should be on. Be careful, they do discuss some "spoiler" styled stuff. And then Dr. Love is back in the house as the two discuss a guy and his unwilling dating partner! All this and more on this episode of the Q!
Drew Pinson and Jason Kull join Mark Bland on this episode where the gentlemen decide to remember the Queen of England who just died in the past week. After decades of reign, the most recognizable person in a Monarchy has passed to the other side. It's such a big deal that they released a press release that states Trump is not invited to the funeral at all. Crazy to think.... Also, Mark is becoming really beaten down about how every time something happens in the music or movie business, it immediately is brought down a notch or two by people being too woke. The latest craziness is people using AI to make the trailer for Disney's new Little Mermaid with a white girl instead of a black lead. Mark thinks this is way way over the top, but also questions why there is a need to constantly play with things on purpose to create division. Mark and the guys talk about homophobia, racism and many other issues that pop up quite often even though in practice there really isn't much that "happens" regarding those topics. And Mark believes those topics are only a focus for a launching point. Everyone doesn't need to complain and whine about everything all the time. Not every Joke is an attack on a whole culture. Some things are just funny in thought and the moment. The world is insensitive and now people are being too sensitive to everything all the time. Now Trump threatening people and the libs are all for it...but it's sensitivity again! The gentle touch on this topic multiple times in the show. Finally Mark has Drew and Jason faceoff in a game of Trivia to see who is the trivia master of the Q. Who won? Who knew more? Which person seemed to guess too much? All this and more will be answered in this weeks finale!
MMWA has a Sept. 10th event coming up and they sent over their guy, the South Broadway Savior....JSO... to be our guest on this new episode. First up Mark wants to find out about the wrestler and his background. Hailing from STL, Mark and his co-host Jason Kull find out that there is a former Junior Blues Player who had a shot at a major university that historical in our great country and it ain't Harvard. This leads to convos about Pro-Wrestling and the business and JSO's eventual rise to popularity. It's not been a good week for Trump. It seems the documents he took were so secret even the FBI had to get clearance to view them for investigating. Which really just whittled the culprits down to Trump and Pence technically. And since the world knows Pence was attacked on Jan 6th, it doesn't seem to point to anyone other than Don. But Mark tries to put the way we look this and other things in perspective throughtout this show. Finally Mark and the boys discuss AI and how it won a competition for digital art at the Colorado State Fair and how close we are getting to ourselves eradicating ourselves. And then it's time for the one and only JSO to jump on the hotseat and answer some random questions to make himself feel important and to help us learn of the AVATAR OF EXCELLENCE and who he is!
Missouri State Senate candidate joins Mark Bland, Mike Eise and Jason Kull for a few minutes to discuss his senate campaign in a Red State like Missouri and what his plans are for the future of the state and country. First up, the guys get to know a bit about Mr. Sinclair and his focus for the rest of the campaign. This includes the constituents in the district 2 area for the state of Missouri. Michael is focusing on Term Limits for judges and the SCOTUS, plus he wants to better our infrastructure and women's rights are heavily on his mind. This all gets Mr. Eise amped up to discuss the electoral college and how voting is used in the USA today. All this leads to a discussion about Uvalde and gun reform in the US, and specifically in the state of Missouri. Then it's time for Michael to jump into the Hot SEAT and do what the others before him did...answer the questions! And he does, while also getting people amped up to change more laws and things in the USA, just off his answers alone. A candidate of merit! Finally Mark and the guys sit back to discuss some other things that affect adults. Parenting! Mark is at home with the kids while they are summer break and he is realzing that they come to him and say they are bored more than ever before. This ties back into some discussion the guys had with Sinclair earlier in the show and how the kids or ingesting entertainment now compared to the past...will something be worked out...find out on this episode of the Q!
Drew Pinson joins on this show with so much going on, it's hard to keep up. First things first, Mark Bland and Drew Pinson tackle the 4th of July Shooting in Highland Park, IL and the subsequent Jayland Walker shooting over the 4th of July weekend. But it's tough for Mark to keep coming on the show discussing kids getting shot up for no reason, or another unarmed person being shot and killed. It's taking it's toll on everyone and these men discuss. Next Mark talks a little about the business of wrestling and how the people in the business today come from a different background than others in the past, and with so many differing backgrounds, the needs of the wrestlers over the years have developed behind the scenes assistants and other people that help with their careers. This comes from a story about Buff Bagwell firing his social media person. This then turns to a discussion about outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and how he needs to resign (and did after this show). Finally Mark and Drew decide to take on soame questions of love and this leads to Drew explaining his background in the world of bartending and working in places where KINK is a thing. Download and find out more! All on this episode of The Q.
Drew Pinson and Mike Eise join Mark Bland fresh off his cruise through carribean! When Mark left, the country was struggling but moving forward, when he came back, it was as if he landed in 1935 Germany. Authoritarianism swept through the Supreme Court and they decided to overturn Roe v. Wade. Which took rights away from millions of women in one instant and turned the clock back to a time that Donald Trump enjoyed. Mark talks about his cruise, but then immediately jumps into abortion rights and the SCOTUS decision while he was gone. This leads to a convo about parents trying to indoctrinate other people's kids into their way of thinking. The only ones that do it consistently are weird christian and evangelical children. Next up there was a special last minute hearing for the Jan 6th testimonies and committee. They brought in former WH aide Cassidy Hutchinson to testify to a bevvy of issue including Trump throwing plates of food and condiments everywhere. How does this affect the committee...the guys discuss. Finally Mark takes some opinions on the Roe v. Wade decision and then brings up some questions for Drew and Mike to throw around and answer for themselves. Most importantly, What is america good at? What do they do well that others notice? Find out what the guests said on this edition of The Q!
Dirty Jay Spurgeon is back in the studio again, along with Mark Bland and Drew Pinson. First up, Mark talks to Dirty about ASMR and this new fad of white noising our lives for the sake of calming down. On top of this, it gets deeper to the tune of millions of people. This walks right into Mark and Dirty focusing on the fact that the millennials seemed to have changed the world...but is it for the better or worse. This becomes a game of Gen X versus the Millennials on The Q. But it doesn't get that far because one of the people in the game is in total agreement with the other one...but which one is it. Later on the guys focus on conservatives and what the word "conservative" is starting to morph into. People that used to be proud are now having to watch what they associate their beliefs with because that umbrella and stereotype is getting worse not better. Will people in 2040 even identify as Conservative or not...they discuss! Finally Mark, Drew and Dirty (aka Clean) discuss some moral dilemma's and then finally there is some XFL sweet bonus info that NOBODY knows until now! WE get the secret lowdown on something Battlehawks fans have been waiting to hear...another nugget of what is to come...tune in and find out what!
Man it's been a week for Ted Cruz. He has made the dumbest comments regarding doors and the Uvalde shooting. He has thrown his hat in the ring to give daily quips about gun control...but nobody is telling Ted what he really needs to hear. Well that my friends is why the Q show is here! First up Mark welcomes Drew Pinson and Jason Kull to show to discuss the newest developments going on with the Uvalde shooting at Robb Elementary last week. It seems the police were less than prepared and then got a little worried about being shot by the killer. Things that we will definitely address on this episode. Also, Mark has been thinking that this is the beginning of 2022 summer, and right after is the fall and the elections. Which will be the beginning of non stop stupid commericals and people trying to get everyone's attention for 2024 poresidential election...but who truly has a shot on the GOP side with all these bad shootings and things going on...well the men discuss and figure it out! Finally Mark and the guys were talking off air what the greatest TV sitcom of all time is. So Mark found a list on the internet and figured, lets see who is better at guessing. So Drew and Jason square off in a game of "who knows better" with the Greatest TV Sitcoms of all time! Pay attention, this show goes by fast!
Mark joins Adam in studio this week to discuss a variety of topics starting with some quick thinking out of Adam's young boy Sonny. They also discuss the latest in the Amber Heard Johnny Depp trial including some strange behavior out of a recent witness. They also give an update on the trail of Michael Sussmann and some of the questions being levied against FBI agents there. Finally Mark brings some light to a trial that is flying under the radar that will pit Billy Cosby against Gloria Allred in a Santa Monica courtroom as Mark shares an interesting hypothetical. The Q prides itself on discussing the latest in the news, current affairs and pop culture. But some shows touch on other topics that make us revisit and discuss deeper the way we are as people. This is one of those episodes. First up our special guests this week are Alfred Konuwa and Drew Pinson. Alfred is the Pro-wrestling writer for Forbes magazine, covering the business on their behalf. Also coming back for another round is Drew Pinson to add his take on what is going on in the world. The Abortion issue is still rife in the USA with people attacking supreme court justices houses and making a mockery of most of us as Adults. And this is why the episode is named the way it is. Sometimes we need to discuss things deeper and wrestle with our own decision making process to come forward with the best options. It doesn't seem we are there yet and so for that we are Wrestling with Ourselves for the time being. Mark and Drew discuss this aspect of life and the controversy currently. Alfred Konuwa joins the show to discuss being a wrestling writer, but also to talk about the business. Mark and alfred touch on the internet dirt sheets and their value in 2022, who you should and probably shouldn't listen to to get your news, some new moves with WWE talent and much more. Plus Alfred hits the hotseat to answer a few questions since he is a first timer. Finally Mark and Drew discuss a letter from a distraught woman that is dealing with heavy 21st century problems because the past is coming to bite her "date" on the butt. Find out what problem is going on that really is going to become an issue for everyone in the world at some point.
The USA has an issue and that is the fact that Britney Griner is currently being held in a Russian Prison for getting caught with hash oil. She is also homosexual and that is a "no no" in Russia. And the Russians have invaded Ukraine and might be starting a World War again...so Britney is in a really bad spot. On this episode we discuss all this and welcome our guy Jonathan May back to the show to sit and talk with us about what is going on in the world. This all leads to a discussion about Gas prices and why they are so high currently. Mark Bland dispells a few myths regarding the reasoning and put other things into perspective. Was it Putin, Biden, Trump...who is at fault or is all of them at fault? Next up the gents get into some news stories and one in particular sets off quite the storm during the show. Mark brings up the Joros spiders and their new US home. Plus how they spread from place to place. It's called Nightmare fuel by the kids and Jonathan is not a fan at all! On this episode of the Q, Jason Kull returns on the heels of Joe Bidens first year in office to discuss the leader and his accomplishments. But that's not all that is happening. It seems Trump and his family are in hot water with the Southern district of NY and the Supreme court is unsealing all documents regarding Trump and January 6th 2021. This will not bode well for the former President who lost the re-election campaign in 2020 to Biden. Also, it seems Joe Rogan (aka POGAN) is back in the news after he tried to pretend he knew more than a doctor about the doctors own job. The viral clip went live and ever since, Pogan has been the vicitm of people opinionating and discussing his collossal miscue on his show. This leads to discussing the value of Rogan and his fanbase in the upcoming elections. Finally Mark and Jason discuss the fact that 5G is now the new hot thing and we are seeing a repeat of 2010 and 3g hampering the airline industry. Is it a real worry or not. The boys discuss on this new episode of The Q!
The Q is known for tapping into the Urban Dictionary aspect of the world and bringing you guys the newest and fresh lingo that is being used worldwide. We brought you "Soaking" on the "Soakening" episode of the show (ep. 483). So we brought back our friend and former co-host with Mark, BJ Lange and his friend Sara Patterson, to discuss a new thing happening in the world of Jeeps and off roading called OVERLANDING. Techincally its exploring remote locations via travel in an offroad vehicle. So this becomes a heavy topic on this episode of the Q. As we stated Bj brought a friend named Sara that would eventually have to sit on the HotSeat and answer some questions, but before that...we get into the acting background of both Sar and BJ based on their living in California and dealing with being working entertainers in Hollywood during Covid. This leads to the two explaining the darker side of Hollywood and the things that you naturally have to deal with because of the way the business is still structured. Finally Mark and his guests discuss the recent twitter decision to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from her Twitter access and block her account from being used. This also leads to a discussion about Greg Abbot (Gov of Texas) asking the federal government for Covid help after 2 years of being Covid deniers and being against everything the Government said or did.

West Ham provided the biggest talking point of the week, knocking out well-fancied Manchester City in the Carabao Cup while Liverpool continue to march on. Finally Mark provides his best bets of the week after last week's successful NAP in Spain and James Milton gives his EFL selections.

You don't want to miss this wide ranging conversation with perhaps one of today's foremost experts on healthcare systems. Health actuary and retired Milliman Principal, Mark Litow spoke with Joyce and Gayle about how healthcare systems work, the main disconnects in the US system, and how reform efforts have led to the numerous problems we face today, including poor doctor-patient relationships, unaffordability, generational inequity, workforce challenges, and long term unsustainability. Mark leads the Concerned Actuaries Group or CAG (www.concernedactuaries.org) and he went into detail about how CAG has modeled the US healthcare system. The model focuses on six signals that together form a comprehensive view of the system: cost, coverage, access, health status, economic impacts, and long term sustainability. The six signals are modeled across all markets, such as Medicare, large employer group, uninsured, and individual. The idea is to model each mutually exclusive population group based on the type of medical coverage they have, as incentives and behaviors will vary by these groups. The model projects the results of a reform into the future and compares it to a continuation of today's healthcare system. As a powerful testament of the model's predictive ability, Mark explained that it predicted that individual insurance premiums would increase 60% after the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Individual market premiums actually increased between 55 and 60%. The CBO's model, in contrast, predicted an increase of 10-13%. Our conversation touched on the proper role for insurance and the effects when subsidies are too low or too high; Mark mentioned work he did in South Africa, modeling the health care system and developing a new insurance plan that was successful until the political winds changed. Finally Mark talked about the actuarial profession and how it has changed over his career. He takes very seriously the obligation of actuaries to speak out if a social insurance program is poorly designed or will have significant negative unintended consequences. He noted that regulatory filings were a small part of what Milliman actuaries did when he first worked there, but by the end of his career, filings comprised about 2/3 of the work. The political pressure on actuaries to soften or remove assumptions that lead to unfavorable projections about pending legislation and regulations has increased as well. It is important for actuaries to hold true to our actuarial principles and our responsibility to the public. We extend a big thanks to Mark for sharing a bit of his knowledge with us today.
Another week and another new Q show. This week Gary Weed drops in and discusses the new things going on in his world and ours. First up....Mark doesn't want to discuss the next shooting for another week in the country. There seems to be a new one each time and everyone has their wishes and wants for how they are viewed. Mark explains his reasoning for not wanting to discuss the newer shooting stating that nobody is willing to play the rules down the middle like himself. Calling things for what they are. Honesty as people. Next Mark and Gary discuss tipping in our culture and the value of it as we move into realms where the the business of tipping and ordering has switched up because of Covid. How do you tip people for food orders? What about other types of tips? Finally Mark and Gary discuss the power of the USA in it's current form. What they can pull off and what they can't. How the other countries should view us...There is a lot of posturing in the world of politics and power, but the target is firmly on the back of the USA! Where should we go with our background and power? Find out what the guys say....plus more questions for us to discuss. So much to be entertained by!
On this newest episode of the Q, things get switched up a little! Our guest is none other than Jason "DIRTY" Spurgeon, BattleHawks point man and Wrestling lover. But Dirty comes with his own plan in mind. Jason decides he wants to interview host Mark Bland about himself, on his own show. Never being one to turn down someone's hopes, Mark obliges and the show gets off to a fast placed start! This leads to a discussion about the infamous Q Anon. Dirty has been watching some documentaries about weird bad people and this leads to a discussion of if the Q Anon people are as bad and scary as some serial killers like John Wayne Gacy? Should we be watching them closely so they don't also go down these more horrific paths after January 6th? This and much more in our discussion about the crazies of the USA! Finally Mark and Dirty get into a discussion about Tucker Carlson and if he is a good person. This leads to a discussion about "wokeness" in 2021. Have we gone too far too fast with wokeness...is it a bad thing to constantly be attacking everything we disagree with? Also is wokeness being weaponized for the wrong reasons because people are eager to correct the worlds bad habits? Is the pendulum swinging too far back against other cultures in the hopes of pointing out things to be unhappy about? All this and much more on this interesting episode of the Q!

Also they talk about their experience doing the panel, The Blake & Sal Show presents The Great Marvel Debate as well talk about some plans for next year. Finally Mark rants about a vendor that really made him angry. Overall though, another positive recap of a Wizard World event.
Gary Weed and Mark Bland embark on a journey to find out more about the legendary St. Louis Metal/Rock/Rap group called The Midwest Avengers. John Harrington of the Midwest Avengers joins the show to discuss his upbringing and forming the group back in the early 1990's. Plus discusses his new music they just released and some thoughts on the business of hip hop. First up, Mark breaks down the past with John discussing their mutual time in the St. Louis music business back in the 1990's. Touring and building the fan base. As well as discussing in detail The Point (local STL indie rock station) and how they were launched to success through their single "Bounce" being played on the station. This leads to a discussion on pay to play in the past and how it worked back in the day. Next up, Mark and the guys take on Jeffrey Epstein's death by suicide in a suicide watch cell. How did this happen? Is there a conspiracy? And the original autopsy came back inconclusive (since then they found broken neck bones...strangulation). Jon and Mark start chopping it up about Conspiracies and whether they serve a purpose or not. Finally Mark and Gary fire up the HOTSEAT and put John square in the middle of it. Among many things talked about, Jon tells Mark what his favorite time of his life was. I bet you can't even fathom to guess what it was. Well tune in and listen to find out this and so much more!
On this episode of the Q, Travis Corley of Agitate the Airwaves joins to discuss all the happenings with his company and life in the St. Louis area. Plus they decide to avoid discussing politics for the show. First up, Mark and Travis start to discuss people that are always happy. How do you respond to someone constantly happy? There is no way that a human can be happy 100% of the time, yet we run into these people in life and their happiness rubs off on others. Next up is a hodge podge. Mark and Travis discuss Mark's recent trip to Six Flags St. Louis and how disappointed he was with the park and the staffing and all of it. Banking off their discussion of Warped Tour, Mark provides detail of what it's like to charge hundreds of dollars to get into the park and then offer up less and worse service considering that enormous price. This leads to a discussion about music and movies that spans multiple genres and styles. It's a really fun talk about everything and too much to post in the info. Finally Mark and Travis try to figure out two problems: 1. Why Travis is being attacked for not nominating certain people for the Agitate the Airwaves Awards? 2. Is this boyfriend an Jerk for going to dinner and not paying a bill? You gotta hear the story to understand. All this and much more on this episode of the Q!
Brandon Travis, Producer Bobby and Gary Weed all join Mark on this Independence Day episode of the The Q. First up, Bobby brings sports to table and discusses the death of Tyler Scaggs, a professional baseball player for the Anaheim Angels. Tyler was found in his room unconscious and declared dead later. Nobody knows why this young man passed but the guys break down the situation and this leads to a discussion about his teammate Albert Pujols and his decisions regarding the STL Cardinals when he left for Anaheim. Next up, Mark is PISSED a the liberal leadership in the congress and their lack of motivation to get things done as well as hold Trump accountable for his bad decisions and character. This leads to a discussion about Trump going to North Korea to do a photo-op while being the first president in decades to step on North Korean soil. But why was it necessary? Mark and the guys discuss. Finally Mark realizes that people like his stories about people being jerks and discussing whether they should be viewed that way or not. Well this week The Q doesn't disappoint and brings to the table a story regarding a lady that is trying to get her husband to pay for something and whether it should happen at all after a sister in-law shows up and everything changes on the front. Find out what happened and if the person is a jerk or not according to you by listening to this episode of the Q.
Gary Weed is back and he is happy that the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup. Which is great for him and a thorn in the side of Flyers fan host Mark Bland. First up Mark and Gary discuss the St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup and how the City of St. Louis is celebrating. That Celebrating lead to Mark's favorite old school Hockey player, Brett Hull, coming back to party with his first love and team. Brett was, let's say a little altered in his happiness...but that's okay when celebrating. Then Gary brings up some stories he wants to talk about including one about parents fighting at another little league baseball game. Mark gets unhappy when hearing these stories and the two discuss what should and can be done to fix this issue that pops up too much now days. Finally Mark put out the search for some people that have stories where they could be the bad guy in the situation. Mark and Gary discuss the various people and if they are indeed the problem child or not. Take a listen and find out what the people did and break it down with your two hosts.
Well the conservatives are on the abortion train again and the Q is paying attention. It seems that a few states decided to go through (outta the blue) with more stringent abortion bans in their state legislatures. More men telling women how and what they should do with their PRIVATE PARTS. Well this shouldn't sit well with many and Brandon Travis makes his long awaited return to the show to discuss this and many other things. Brandon has been away for a while, serving time for his transgressions in life. Mark and Brandon start off talking about Trump and his need to start Wars with Iran for no reason. But that point Brandon asks the most important question...why is Trump doing this? Mark has an answer for him, see if you agree. Brandon and Mark then get into talking about Brandon's time away and how he handled the pressure. He was sent to the hole for a few weeks and Mark wants to know how that affects the mind of a man stuck in that situation. This leads to Brandon discussing the reasons for why he got into the trouble and along with it comes the stories of fighting to survive in a hell hole. Brandon talks about the fights he was in and why he followed through. Finally Mark and Brandon discuss some letters from the listeners. One person specifically brings up the idea of COSPLAY and how we view it as dressing up like Halloween. But we should be allowed to be any race and dress as another to pay homage. So should costumes that are inherently non judgmental or non-racist (nefarious purpose)be allowed? The men discuss. Enjoy this episode of the Q...Hopefully it opens your mind and makes you think.

Than they both get into a much longer review of the number one movie of the week, Captain Marvel. Later, previews of The Highwaymen, Five Feet Apart, Captive State and more. Finally Mark talks about the movie that made him want to be a film critic, Enemy directed by Denis Villeneuve. It's a fun show that we hope you all enjoy.

On this episode of the Q, Mark Bland decides to let the cat out of the bag on a new resolution he has for 2019. He invites Gary Weed to air a grievance with him from facebook...BUT He will invite anyone with legitimate grievances against him on any show to have the floor and discuss what their issue. Whether personal, private, or public...the doors of the Q are open for 2019 and all grievances. This all comes on the back of another week and Trump whining again and making hardworking government employees go without a paycheck again. So he punishes the citizens because he doesn't get his way. What kind of Presidential quality is that. It seems very petty and deplorable....but we already knew that in 2016. The TSA workers who protect us from allowing in bad people on the airlines and planes, are not getting paid because of the shut down. The TSA exists because of 9/11. So now all the people paid to protect us are leaving and that will make it worse in security for airports. If one plane is taking down on his watch, Trump has to resign. At that point, his whining becomes treasonous and allows people to get hurt. Mark and Gary Weed discuss this. Finally Mark reads a letter from a listener describing the elderly as bad people who are always coming down on young people. Mark and Gary discuss if this is an actual problem or if this individual just has a gripe because something happened to him directly. Find out what is said and more on this new episode of the Q!
Comedian Brian McDowell comes on the Q to discuss a "verbal tussle" him and host Mark Bland had regarding the position of success and how it should be viewed from his point of view. Brian disagree's with Mark, so Mark invited him on to discuss which comics are truly FAMOUS and which ones are D and C list celebs at best. Along for this wonderful ride is Jason Kull and Gary Weed who also join in on this foray. Mark and Gary have been going back and forth about Harold Baines making it into the Baseball Hall of Fame and it lines up perfectly because this show is about VALUE and MERIT. Either you have both and are viewed at the proper level...OR you have one or the other and are viewed on a lesser scale. But it seems people within their own professions view success of others at a heightened level and sometimes you gotta step outside of your business to see it the way others do. But is Mark right or is Brian right. Most comics are gonna agree with Brian because of his position as a stand up comic....but it's never those within your industry that give you the value you require. It's the CROWD and FANS. They are what give you merit. Also on the show the guys discuss Michael Cohen, the lawyer for Donald Trump that admitted guilt and is now going to prison for 3 years. You would think that would be the eye opening everyone needed to figure out Trump is dirty, but NOPE! Some people are still holding tight and coming up with every excuse they can so they don't get egg on their face. Conservatives are dollar sure and too deep now to allow anything to make their choice look bad. But there is more coming down the pipe line and everyone chimes in about what makes Cohen that big of a deal. Finally Mark, Gary, Jason do the hotseat with Brian. What will he be asked...Also what does he quietly judge people on? It could be anything and it could gain you a fan in Brian or get you thrown away quickly. Find out on this new Q!
Evidently it's "Story Time" in the world of The Q. And let's be honest...October is the perfect time to tell spooky stories about people you need to be scared of. But what if they aren't scary at all. What if the people you are discussing are not the monsters that people make them out to be. Well there are two sides to every story and Jonathan May and Gary Weed join to discuss. Mark starts off discussing a recent issue he had where people went out of their way to make him look bad by taking things out of context. Mark and the guys discuss the manner at which these things happened and why they fall into the "story" world more than anything legitimate in real life. Next up Gary discusses a post he recently made to facebook regarding people using EBT cards (welfare money) to buy things required when they also had cash money in their pocket and used it to buy other non essential items. People attacked Gary for being insensitive and to look deeper. Where Gary thinks that his point is well versed and deserves to be taken on it's merits in comparison to the country and others moral/ideological stances. Jonathan and Mark sit back to decipher and get to the bottom of Gary's stance and whether everyone chiding him is right or if in fact Gary makes the "nail in the coffin" argument that should dictate peoples thoughts. Finally Mark discusses kids in 2018 and how they don't have any patience anymore. How this is indicative of TV/Movie industry today when all they do is make remakes of everything between 1985-2015. Also how this perpetual loop will eventually be lost on life and they might maintain this for decades and decades past our current times.
We setup the round table again and we brought back Producer Bobby to hang out. But with him came friend of the show, Alex Elias, from AE Consulting Solutions as well as Jonathan May to sit down and discuss everything going on. First up Mark has a conundrum to figure out. Is he CRAZY or is he being logical. Mark and his wife have a broken dryer and the need to wash and dry clothes weekly. Mark discusses bringing up the need to go to a Laundromat which his wife is not keen on. So Mark explains his theories to the crew and then asks, AM I CRAZY? Well is he....listen and find out the verdict Also, Bobby Brings up something that he saw at LaGuardia airport in NY. A sectioned off desk and piece of ground designed for Free Speech. It's a Free Speech zone. Bobby was amazed and this makes Mark think of pop-up Rage rooms that he has seen online. This get Alex going and excited about a new business venture. But what about that Free Speech zone...can you say Bomb in it? What would happen? The gentlemen discuss. Finally Mark brings up a new game he wants to play called Top 5. Yo name off the Top 5 of yours without telling anyone the topic...then the people are supposed to guess what your list refers to. An amazing idea that just falls apart but could be brought back in a more permanent way down the road.
[From ws1/18 p. 17 – March 12-18] “O our God, we thank you and praise your beautiful name.” 1 Chronicles 29:13 The whole of this article is based on the premise that the organization is really what it claims to be, God’s organization. (See Jehovah has always had an organization for a recent discussion on this topic.) Without this premise the entire reasoning presented in this article is groundless and without substance. The entire thrust of the article is another plea for money. This plea for money is becoming a regular theme in literature and videos. See Seeking Riches that are True WT review (Aug 28-Sep 3 2017). See Clam Review of September 18-24 2017 under the Congregation Book Study discussing the Kingdom Rules book Chapter 18 para 1-8. See Clam Review of October 16-22, 2017 under Local Needs. Jehovah wants us to be Generous (video) in Clam meeting for Nov 20-26, 2017. These are just the most recent. The opening paragraphs remind us quite rightly that Jehovah not only owns all resources, but also “uses them to provide what is needed to sustain life.” Also that both our Father and Jesus our Lord have miraculously “provided food and money when needed.” As is usual a Pre-Christian example is quoted to support a Post Early Christian ‘need’, rather than providing an early Christian era example. So because the Israelites were invited to support Jehovah’s specific arrangement for the Nation of Israel, somehow we are expected to support those who claim to be Jehovah’s organization today. Since virtually all Christian religions claim to be God’s one true church or organization, (as opposed to just the Nation of Israel in the past) we surely need some undisputable way of identifying if Jehovah has an organization today, otherwise we would at best be wasting our money, and at worst supporting an organization backed by Satan the Devil, God’s opposer. There are three questions raised: “Why does Jehovah expect us to use our valuable things to give back to him? How did faithful ones in the past support the activities of Jehovah’s representatives financially? How does the organization use the money that is donated today?” “Why does Jehovah expect us to use our valuable things to give back to him?” The real question should be ‘Does Jehovah expect us to use our valuable things to give back to him today? And if so, How?’ Then they give the unsupported statement (in paragraph 5) “Giving is also an expression of our worship of Jehovah”. Perhaps attempting to support this statement they quote Revelation 4:11 but that does not substantiate their claim. They then attempt to apply the pressure to donate by again using a Israelite example (presumably because no first century Christian example exists in the Scriptures), to highlight that as “the Israelites were not to appear before Jehovah empty-handed”, and so by implication we must not be empty handed in supporting their man-made organization and thereby attempt to guilt trip us into contributing. Paragraph 6 continues this theme of giving support to organization goals with the following “A son or a daughter who may be pioneering and living at home may rightly give the parents some funds to assist with household expenses.” Should not Bible principles govern all decisions and actions? So how does Ephesians 6:2-3, 1 Timothy 5:8 and Mark 7:9-13 affect the matter? According to Ephesians a son or daughter should show honour to their parents regardless of their age, otherwise it will not go well with them in God’s eyes. 1 Timothy clearly says “Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith” His own would be in particular his or her parents. Finally Mark 7 emphatically shows that no-one can hide behind the excuse that they are ‘serving Jehovah’ to avoid the responsibilities clearly laid out in the scriptures.
Jason Kull and Andy Echele jump in to discuss many a topic on this show. The guys start out discussing the State of the Union address by President Trump and the argument that Democrats didn't clap. Well Mark points out this is quite normal and there are tons of examples from the past where other Presidents got shut down with the clap. Then the story moves to Tom Brady and the Patriots going to their next Superbowl. Mark is a fan and Andy not so much. But his success begs the question, is he the greatest sports athlete of all time? Possibly...listen to the discussion and you make your decision. Finally Mark had a run in with a Flat Earth believer recently and discusses the points brought to his attention and whether anyone else in the country believes the Flat Earth things. This leads to discussion about conspiracy and the theories people hold. Plus a reminder from Mark about conspiracy theorist.
FIRST SHOW OF 2018...and we are starting the year off with a Bang! Jason Kull joins Mark to discuss the most up to date and current stance with the Trump Presidency. But that is not the big news of the day by any means. Mark decides that 2018 needs to start with a rant that is geared towards the majority of cell phone loving Americans. Apple recently announced that they are slowing down cell phones. Mark is an avid Apple phone guy and this is not sitting well with the majority of people that pay large prices for their equipment monthly. Mark takes aim...see what he has to say. Then the Tax Cut that Trump is so happy about is the focus of the next discussion. Obviously it helps the wealthy and the upper echelon of society...but will it help the middle class and lower class? Probably not right off the bat and definitely the way it was structured will blow up in the next Presidents face. But Trump doesn't care about the next President cause he is not a true American patriot the way he discusses and pretends. Finally Mark had it out on Twitter with some sports people from the southern US that love their college football. But why is someone asking for an autograph considered a pariah to the other people in the news writing community that covers Clemson football. Well tune in and find out if you agree with Mark or the others!
Mark begins by apologizing because his mic sounds like he dropped it in a toilet. The episode continues with a lengthy conversation about puking and moves to Cruz and Mark covering Amazing Adventures 23 from May of 1974 featuring Marvel's Killraven. They continue the Saber/Lando debate from last episode which remains unresolved but they do agree that Mint Julep is the best character in the book with sadly the worst name and Cruz instructs us on the proper nomenclature for a group of rats. Finally Mark and Cruz dig into Punishercember with Punisher Silent Night from 2005. Please leave us a review on iTunes and email us at Comicbookdungeonpodcast@gmail.com

Tony Cabral joins the show for the first time in a long while. First up the two guys discuss this whole Trump phenomena and how we exactly got to this point. Discussing Colbert and Kimmel recently taken it to Trump and whether or not they were just in their statements. Next the aura of the Confederacy still being a talking point after a lady was killed in Charlottesville and more protesting in Boston. Is there value to that rag the Confederates call a flag? What do statues have to do with 2017? And how long will this petulant baby whining the conservatives are constantly doing about their freedom of things. At this point it seems like everything has been taken away from them and really nothing has. Plus INDIANS/NATIVE AMERICANS get discussed. Finally Mark and Tony dig into a solid discussion of Jean Twenge new book I-Gen and an interview Tony saw regarding the breakdown of what this newest generation definition means. But where exactly does Gen-X, Gen-Y/millennials and the I-Gen start and stop. All this and much, much more on this episode of The Q!
Donald Trump recently went to the G20 and in our opinion did not represent our country as well as he could. Jason Kull joins Mark to discuss Ivanka sitting in on G20 meeting on behalf her dad, and his awkward and lonely vibe he gave off. This leads to a report from an Australian journalist covering the G20 that reported on Trump in the most scathing way possible. The guys play the clip and proceed to discuss all the points and merits the journalist brings up in the video. From the vibe that world leaders are working around him, to their decision to just ignore him. All of this leading to what is now called the G19, not 20. Finally Mark and Jason focus on the Donald Trump Jr. Saga regarding campaigning and meeting with Russia. He's stated a bunch of times that the Russia thing has been a Witch hunt until now. They have proof and DT Jr. is back pedaling a ton on this one. Will it seal the fate of Trump Sr....it will be discussed.
What happens when you bring Jason Kull and Brandon Travis together in a room??? Well you get this episode of the Q. The two guys join Mark to discuss the current situation with North Korea, but more from the point of view of Europe. Currently France, one of the main tenants of European power, is in the middle of an hotly contested election....and....it's starting to look like another "Trump-esque" victor in Marie Le Pen is on her way to overall victory. What does this mean for the region and the United States regarding the new tone set? Well that all gets discussed. Finally Mark and his guests take a letter from a listener regarding Mark's tendency to have tournaments of pop culture and put unlikely things against each other. A listen named John sends in his 4 Disaster movies and wants us to match em up. Find out what movies are on the list and see if you agree with our choices and eventual winner.
300 shows is not an easy thing to accomplish and the Q with Mark Bland has finally taken the leap and made it after 7 years. On this show, Mark is joined by Jason Kull and Producer Bobby as they think about the past years and where they are compared to when they started. But the show hits its normal stride as Mark, Jason and Bobby decide to tackle two specific topics: The first being Trumps amazing 3rd FAKE attack that never existed at all, but his team keeps making them up. The Second being his new found fascination of denouncing the media and challenging the credibility of their profession. Mark see's this more as people calling other peoples opinions they disagree with as fake news. It's not Fake news and the guys explain why. Finally Mark brings up some questions from the fans and listeners and this leads to one of the best endings to a show that we have ever had. One question leads to a discussion about the worst things about Porn....this brings up Bobby's story and review of a movie from when he was younger that levels the crew. Great stuff and you don't wanna miss it.
Well it is the new year of 2017 and the guys on the Q have an amazing show lined up for you. First up is their guest retired prowrestler and amazing artist Dartallion Allen. Also known in wrestling as a Eric Allen, Dartallion joins in the show to fullfil Marks long legacy of bringing some personal buddies on the show and this one fills out the Trifecta! Dart discsusses his earliest influences and how he did some tryout work with Marvel. Plus Mark and Eric go down memory lane to remember exactly when they crossed paths for the first time. From there, Jason Kull and Schep jump in handily for the discussion about Donald Trump and what is going on for this year. Mark has a list of predections he's calling now and many of them seem to have a common theme....listen in to find out what that is. Finally Mark and John have a good ole verbal tug of war regarding Scheps background in politics and when he decided enough was enough and went Republican.
On this Episode of the Q, Andy Echele comes back and discusses one of his oldest bits from 5 years ago when the two discuss the FIRE TAX some people pay in different cities across the country and what andy's view on that is. Also, the US government decided to revamp some of their currency and their decision to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill. They Replaced it with Harriet Tubman on the $20 and the world went into hissy fit mode. Now all the conservatives are angry a former US President is being removed from the currency and they want answers. Mark and Andy discuss whats going on and how it should be viewed. Finally Mark and Andy get to Andy's favorite section of the show. Letters from the Listeners gets some M & A treament as well as the two discuss Conor McGregor and how he is fighting for better payouts for the fighters, while at the same time creating the value for the biggest fight in the history of UFC at UFC 200. All this and much more on the newest episode of the Q!
Well Vitaly has been in the country since December and its time for him and his wife to make that fateful trip back to the USSR here in a week. But before he goes, Mark decides to bring him onto the show one more time to talk about Donald Trump, The Brussel's Attacks and the value of living in 2016. But he forced us to have Proucer Bobby on the show too if he came on...begrudgingly we said OK.First up is a fun filled rant from Mark. Being a father and family man, Mark understands the value of a Family LockerRoom at a local pool. Evidently the people at the new complex in a local STL municipality do not appreciate the value of said family sized things and spent all their money not making proper accomodations in Mark's opinion. Next up Mark discusses the Brussels Attack and how he feels that it might have been deterred if two things happen:1. focus on why they are choosing these french speaking areas to attack2. Start being more judgmental of the people in their country and start using a little profiling to tighten up the ranks. Not negative stereotyping, but focusing on similarities that lead to dangerous situations. Finally Mark, Bobby and Vitaly discuss the Donald Trump phenomenon and how our society in the USA kinda created this vitriolic rheotric and attitude. Explaining why Trump seems to reasonate with the base of voters that love him. And also discussing the potential for the convention to be contested.
First we had Evan Gelistico and now his Tag Partner Pierre Abernathy decides to sit down with Mark Bland and discuss the world around us.Pierre breaks down how he got into wrestling and the people that he met along the way. Which eventually leads to his owning and running Anarchy Wrestling. It definitely was not a easy transition for the wrestler whose been performing for 10+ years, but a necessary move that tested him in ways he didn't realize it would. Then Mark starts to discuss politics and the unbelievable staying power of Donald Trump. Pierre jumps in and discusses his beliefs on the Donald and whether he thinks there is value to him as a President or not. This Leads Mark to beg people across the great nation to not support or vote for Donald Trump.Next up Mark and Pierre tackle the controversy that is Hulk Hogans junk. Well techinically it's not Terry's junk, cause he said that on the stand. Hulk Hogan is embroiled in a sex tape trial and recently brought up his theory on his penis and who it belongs to or not. Mark and Pierre ruin their childhoods through discussing this weird stance Mr. Bollea takes. Finally Mark and Pierre discuss a little NBA basketball and Pierre makes a absolutely cruical mistake by choosing Michael Jordan as a better all around player than Lebron James. This leads to a discussion of how he can assume this. Also Pierre jumps on the HOT SEAT for a few questions and Evan Gelistico joins in Overtime while discussing Pierres unique Ghostbuster and TMNT movie/character theories.
An action packed show is what is in store for you. First and foremost, we are joined this week by friend and talking head Matt Thomas who brings his unique personality and focus to the current events of the day. Right off the bat, Mark sits down with Videogame professional and legend TriForce Johnson to discuss his career in gaming. Mark caught wind of TriForce from a well known documentary called the King of Chinatown which tackles TriForce and friend Justin as they ascend to the top of the Streetfighter tournament world. Triforce discusses his early days in the industry and his multiple Guiness World Records. Plus Mark goes for it all by really delving into why videogame players really don't have a crossover mainstream rockstar to put them on the map. They delve into stereotypes and discuss some of the games Triforce loves and hates. Then Mark and Mr. Thomas break into discussion about the topic on everyones mind, mass shootings. Fresh off the San Bernadino shooting and all the mystery surrounding it, the two guys dsicuss the value of guns in America. Plus why violence runs so deep throughout our culture. Finally Mark goes on a rant discussing bathroom ettiquette once more. Have you ever been using the restroom and someone oversteps the common understood unspoken rules of public restrooms? Well Mark went to see Michael McDonald at the Fox and encountered one such issue. It was definitely ILL COMMUNICATION!
The University of Missouri is up in arms currently cause the students feel that they're complaints about racial issues are not being taken seriously. This has thrust the University into the national spotlight regarding racial issues and the state and country are split. But there seems to not be a lot of examples to hang our hats on and Mark welcomes Adny Echele on the show to illuminate these relatively non-existent issues that seem to have no pictures or video/audio proof. Then the two take on a story that Andy brings to the table about Oklahoma law enforcement and how they have a new rule. Now, officers of the law, whether on duty or not, are absolved from being involved in certain situations when they announce they are a police officer. Andy feels this is a slippery slope and Mark tee's off on Andy after a little more research. Also Mark and Andy decide to play a game. The South shall rise again....oops....not so fast...sit down. The country is buzzing with news discussing a shooting in a South Carolina church where 9 people are murdered, but the focus quickly changes when pics of the shooter with Confederate flags shows up in his social media. Immediately the country starts in on the age old discussion of the Civil War, the inherent racism of that time period and the flag that represented those ideals. Mark and Bobby focus on the value of the arguement being made and look into the back ground of the shooter who claimed his decision was based in race, giving more creedence to the Confederate Flag talk. Then the guys switch up a little and start talking about the effect of the confederate decision on multiple businesses, Including Nascar. This swtiches to a group of people that are definitely not happy Nascar and drivers like Dale Ernhardt Jr. are against the confederate flag. They take to social media to voice their opinion and Mark decides to promote and discuss some of their great and bigoted comments live on the show. Finally Mark and Bobby decide to play the parts of the South and the North discussing the potential for Seccession from the Union and how they think it went down. Sit back and enjoy as these two rewrite history for a moment.
First up, Kevin Harvell of STL Tech Talk and Tech Informist joins the show to discuss tech and phones and Producer Bobby's love of hating the iPhone (errr wait....yep thats sort of correct). But he also jumps in to give his opinion on the big story out of McKinney, Texas (Dallas) where a pool party goes awry and the police are called in. All of which is fine as long as you are not one specific cop and his Lethal Weapon-esque style all caught on camera. The guys discuss the implications and the racial inequality discussion that came out after the fact. Then we switch gears and talk with Gerogia Page calling in from Australia. Georgia put on the black and gold for Lindenwood Unversity (Mark's Alma Mater) and played Womens Rugby....which eventually led to her showing how dominate and tough she is through ESPN replaying her clip over and over in their Top Ten plays. Georgia takes a massive hit and keeps on trucking. We talk with her about the sport of womens rugby and Vegemite. Finally Mark goes all in discussing soccer in the midwest and specifically the attitude of fans in 2015 with regard to soccer in the US. This brings up the attempts by some to bring Soccer back to prominence in the STL and Mark hits them all with a strong dose of reality only he can deliver.
Ever been in a fight? Ever thought, hey I could do this and win this fight? Well that's exactly what happened when an off duty police officer got into a back alley fight with another guy and decided to get a mouth full. Which side will you stand on in this discussion.Next the two host didn't get a chance to explain out their experience at this years Roller Coaster Race. So Mark and Bobby talk about the return of the Polar Vortex Dan Walsh as well as some unique aspects of the event itself. Mark just can't understand how two people running can hear each other through their music and headphones, but refused/couldn't hear Mark asking them rudimentary questions while they were running. This plus all the fun stories of the event. Finally Mark and Bobby go back to the topic of technology and how it can help people in 2015. The discussion is based off what Mark and Bobby would do as CO-PRESIDENTS of the USA. Mark decides to make play and give a very direct and honest opinion of the situation that seems quite polarizing to say the least. Anthony and the guys discuss the background of the famed French satire magazine and how long they have been on the radar of radical islamic terrorist groups. Also, a former guest and friend of the show named KOBA also phones in announced to Mark (a Producer Bobby Special) to discuss his new book available on Amazon called "1000 Facts about Sex and Love". KJ (his author name) breaks down what led to writing this book and some of his more favorite facts in the book. This leads to Bobby and Tone going out of their way to find other hilarious sex facts that they discuss. Finally Mark is the bigegst defender of Ted Nugent, even though they politcally differ. After interviewing him a few years back, Mark became a fan of his no holds barred opinions and verbal tirades. But eveidently, Uncle Ted has stepped over the line when he decided to attack mentally handicapped people and their troubles. While promoting his upcoming appearance on the new Sarah Palin Show Uncle Ted let go with some not so nice things and this grabs the ire Mark and the crew.
