Next, Eloy Escagedo shares the history of his great uncle, who brought the first electrical service into his home town in Cuba. From there, the hosts branch off into several different topics that all seem to revolve around life in smaller towns, leaving us wondering if we can ever go home, or can home leave us, never to return. All in all, the Trampled Underfoot Podcast crew spend a lot of time living in the past, which is kind of what they do best. In this fun-filled episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, we start off the discussion with a trip to the grocery store. Eloy Escagedo set out to buy a bottle of vegetable oil. Seems simple enough, right? How could this start any controversy? Let's just say that pricing was an issue – and not in the way that you're probably thinking.Totally switching gears, Mark Lindsay introduces a topic that was inspired by a recent YouTube video he watched (go figure, right?) The video featured a gentleman who plays classical music pieces on piano, and the score to that music is displayed on the screen as he plays it. As an April Fools joke, he flipped the sheet music over, and played it upside down. The funny thing is, the resulting music sounds fantastic. It's completely unrecognizable as the original, yet still sounds great. The video is posted on the Trampled Underfoot Podcast Facebook page so you can listen for yourself. This then opens up a dialog on copyright issues in music, video, images, and all other content we find online. Mark shares a personal story involving someone using a piece of one of his videos in their videos. Do you agree with the host's conclusions? All of this and more in this totally copyrighted episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast!
We start off the discussion on YouTube channels that react to Rock Music and how it's great to hear other people's points of view of songs we discovered decades ago. This leads to reminiscing on other related thoughts about music. We then talk about communication, encounters with famous people, and friends we've met in real life after first meeting them online. We then go on with an eclectic variety of fun topics. Be sure to check out this episode ofthe Trampled Underfoot Podcast!
In this episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay go way off the beaten path. What starts as a discussion about the most famous things that were invented in Florida and Oregon somehow morphs into the subject of James Randy debunking so-called psychics. If that isn't an odd enough transition, Eloy introduces a video that documents a huge rail project in the UK. That's innocent enough. But somehow, that winds its way into discussion about Neanderthals and the evolution of mankind. How the heck did they end up there? There's only one way to find out! So grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy this eclectic, yet entertaining and informative episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast! We record LIVE every Tuesday evening at 9:30 pm Eastern, 6:30 pm Pacific time. In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast Mark Lindsay is encouraged about the direction of music after a trip to his local big box retailer. The sudden appearance of some so-called “obsolete” goods were prominently displayed, which put a surprising amount of spring in his step for the rest of the day. This morphed into a discussion with Eloy Escagedo of our 5 senses, and everything we take for granted until they're lost. There's a lot to digest in this discussion, but we think you'll find it palatable. There are a lot of digressions, segues, philosophical points, and just general rambling in this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, so pull up a beverage and relax. We think you'll enjoy this thought provoking episode."Two guys from different decades, backgrounds, and opposite sides of the continent discuss life, the universe, and everything. Mark Lindsay could not have his morning coffee as the coffee maker broke. So he set out to buy a new machine. On his journey to buy the new machine, he pondered the question of Planned Obsolescence. And we're not talking about just coffee makers here. Look around! We're surrounded by items that have a finite life to them, do we get bang from our buck now-a-days? More and more, products seem to be going the way of this and if not, companies are using proprietary parts that require you to go to them for a repair. There's a lot ofquestions on this one so Mark Lindsay and Eloy Escagedo discuss this, and other related topics in this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast. In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast Mark Lindsay goes into the background of one of the most influential hard rock bands of all time. A band that came from humble beginnings and exploded to meteoric heights in the late 70s and early 80s. What was behind their success? How did they become the musical powerhouse they are today? Eloy Escagedo gives his opinions, and the hosts discuss what was and what could have been.Next is a discussion of listening to music as an activity. Is music as important today as it was in decades past? We know that the way people experience music today is totally different from how we experienced it as kids and young adults. Has that difference caused music to lose the social impact and social importance it had decades ago? Finally, did the way we experienced music translate to video when the VCR exploded onto the scene? There is so much more in this episode, but it really has to be experienced. In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay discuss the exploitation of stereo when it comes to producing and engineering music. Long gone are the days of sonic exploration via stereo. Certain aspects such as panning are still used, but the fine art of “playing with the mix” to produce sonic psychedelia have been relegated to the status of “relics of the past.” Do you agree with that assessment?Next, what's in a band's name? Can a name make or break a band's image? Can the choice of a name spell success or failure for a group of artists? We share our opinion, and let you be the judge. Also in this episode, a YouTube reaction channel scores an interview with The Zombies, the great guitar tone wood debate, band logos, and so much more as we continue our overall discussion of life, the universe, and everything in this episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast! In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay open with a couple of series Eloy has been enjoying on Netflix, one of which being Cobra Kai. In this series, based on the Karate Kid movies of the 80s, the perspective is changed from that of the good guy to that of the perceived villain. In the re-imagined series, we see the villain of the movies wasn't actually a villain at all. This brings up the topic of producers, directors, and performers taking characters we hold dear, and re-imagining them, sometimes changing genre, other times just changing the perception of those characters from a different point of view. Is this a good thing?Mark then turns the tables on Eloy by associating the same concept with music. Is it the same thing? Is taking a rock standard and putting a different spin on it blasphemy, or is it all a part of the creativity of the artist? There are some very definite opinions on this topic, and some that may surprise you. Also; it's no secret that Eloy and Mark love their tech. But have any of us stopped to reflect on just how much money we're paying for our tech? All of this and more in this episode as the hosts continue their overall discussion of life, the universe, and everything in this episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast! Enjoy!
There are countless benefits we enjoy from tech. The more it advances, the broader our options. But there's always a catch, or a counter, with every new gadget that comes out. There's this new tracker by Apple, and it's the size of a coin. With it, folks can keep an eye on all sorts of things from luggage to their pets. However, some folk may use it for nefarious proposes too. What if the device was used to track you? On this episode of Trampled Underfoot, the question is, should their be an app, for safety reasons, to warn folks if being spied on? And should Government step in if the company refuses? The hosts get into this topic and have some interesting thoughts. Check it out!
In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Mark Lindsay and Eloy Escagedo discuss their most recent absence. Spoiler Alert – it's all Mark's fault. The two then branch out in a few directions based on the topic at hand. Without giving too much away here, is there a social engineering aspect to the control of social media outlets? Are there topics that are seen by some as taboo, and should never be discussed? Who makes that decision? Is it a decision that should even be made?Lots of questions and personal opinion in this episode as the hosts discuss life, the universe, and everything in this very personal episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast! In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay go off on some wild tangents – no big surprise there, right? There are some really crazy stories about people that have been raised by animals. An to be honest, we're not sure how real some of these accounts are. But you be the judge, as it's the first topic we talked about on this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast. We then discuss another really weird subject. It has to do with a little known syndrome that occurs in a tiny amount of folks around the world. It's so rare that there has not been any substantial amount of research on it. It called foreign accent syndrome. It's where people one day all of a sudden start to talk with a different accent then their own. It's just weird, and we think you'll enjoy the conversation. All that and more on this episode, check it out!

Do we have a filter on what we talk about? Well, certain topics are not too appealing such as politics, which just ruins everything. Mark and Eloy discuss! Then, we talk about people from now a days, and whether we really communicate with each other? Are we just waiting to say our thing, while others are rambling? Others can just go pound sand, right? It's an interesting subject on what is going on and we have some points of our own to make.Next, Mark shares a happening over some hailstorm damage that occurred recently. In Episode 149 of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast: Has the internet made us smarter? With so much information literally at our fingertips, have we really become any smarter than we were when we relied on libraries and books for our information? Information is easier to find than it has ever been. Is that information correct, though? How do we check it? Do we even care?Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay explore the topic with lots of references to Wikipedia, books, magazines, and even a video taken in France in 1899. In that video, modern Artificial Intelligence technology was used to colorize it, then bring it up to 60 fps. The video itself is stunning, but does it give us a look into the daily lives of people of the time, or does it give us a look at how they hoped viewers would see them?Lots of fun conversations in this episode, so grab your favorite beverage, sit back, relax, and enjoy! We record LIVE every Tuesday evening at 9:30 pm Eastern, 6:30 pm Pacific time. Proof of the Lizard People? What's the proof then? It is said that the Lizard people, Reptilians, walk among us. They say that they're inter-dimensional, and that they shape shift. In Episode 139 of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast: Mark Lindsay did the unthinkable – he watched a movie that Eloy Escagedo suggested he watch almost 2 years ago. Yes, we’re talking about the 1998 Jim Carrey film, The Truman Show. This not only opened up a conversation about the movie, it spawned other diversions that are related to the premise of the movie. Was it inspired by a book? Was it inspired by an episode from the 1980s re-boot of The Twilight Zone? Is there really such a thing as The Truman Show Delusion?Next, the question of how comfortable we are with giving away our privacy in exchange for access to entertainment and information returns for a second round. The hosts discuss the subject and expand on the concept of Terms Of Service Agreements. What are we giving our favorite social media platforms permission to do with our info? It just so happens that Eloy later received multiple video suggestions on those very same words and topics. It all Started with the saying 'It's turtles all the way down'! In Episode 137 of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast: Flat Earthers. Do they really believe their theories? Are they just trying to keep an argument alive? Are they just doing it for the lulz? Or are they just after attention? Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay delve into it. A brief discussion of the Placebo Effect follows, which leaves folks scratching their heads. The hosts get into a discussion about the absurdity of taking a little bit of information, and running to the extreme with it, not even knowing why, and use Pineapples as the example. (Hint: Pineapples aren’t just for breakfast anymore...) Finally, Eloy asks Mark to name a song, a snack, a movie, and a book to put into a time capsule to be opened in 100,000 years in the future. In Episode 133 of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast: Does a person’s attitude, likability, or personality change as we age, or do we maintain the same type of personality throughout our lives? Mark Lindsay has some opinions about it that might be just the opposite of what you think. Eloy Escagedo then shares his thoughts following his viewing of a video concerning a scientific round-table discussion of the Cambrian Explosion. They came to the conclusion that the math just doesn’t add up. Had enough time passed since the earth’s creation for such complex organisms to naturally evolve? Next the conversation gets into a scientific study that led to what’s become known as the Dunning-Kruger Effect. That’s a bias that states that people with low ability at a task tend to overestimate their ability. (When you hear about the case that sparked the study, you’ll be blown away.) Are we really as intelligent as we think we are, or are we all more or less just Comfortably Dumb? We’re confident that we'll keep you entertained in this episode of Trampled Underfoot Podcast, with your hosts, Mark Lindsay and Eloy Escagedo, but will we really?
