Hi guys and welcome to 2025! To start off 2025 I was joined by LPGA Tour Caddy Scottie Leonard @worldwidescottie who caddies at the moment for the super Ingrid Lindblad as we look forward to the start of their season in Brandenton, Florida for Founders Cup which leaves it traditional home of Upper Montclair, New Jersey. We find out how Scottie even without a real golfing background was able to get a job as a club caddy at his local golf club as it made more money than cleaning the golf carts. Scottie would then get breaks with Jennifer Chang and would also caddy for Elizabeth Szokol before landing full time role on the Epson Tour last year with Ingrid Lindblad where she would have the chance to win before finishing 2nd to Fati Fernandez Cano then at Tuscaloosa Classic where Ingrid would win on Epson Tour contributing massively to her finishing 6th overall gaining full status on LPGA for 2025! Scottie also co-hosts a caddy interview show on YouTube called My Side of the Bag with experienced caddy Drew Hinesley where their primary focus is showing you all the insights of life as a Tour Caddy! Listen on YouTube if you could! Listen, Download, Rate and Review on Apple Podcasts & Podbean. Be sure to give a 5 star review as it helps with the growth in this exciting time!

Being the parent of a special needs child is an exceedingly demanding role that comes with innumerable responsibilities geared toward helping that child navigate the world around them in the most enriching and gratifying way. The most important of these responsibilities is seeing that the child receives the best education possible, maximizing their social and behavioral skills. This is a challenging task. The term “special needs” covers a wide range of disabilities, so the nature of that education will vary considerably from child to child. However, these children all have one thing in common — the right to a free and appropriate public education. And, because the term “appropriate” is so subjective, it's often a point of contention between school district officials who insist that they're doing the very best they can to fulfill their obligations and parents of special needs children who maintain that the accommodations being provided just aren't accomplishing what they need to. Maybe you're the parent of a special needs child and have become frustrated in your efforts to secure the best possible education for that child — an education that's guaranteed by law. Or perhaps you know someone who's at such an impasse. If so, you'll want to tune into the latest episode of Absolute Trust Talk as Kirsten Howe speaks with California Special Education Rights Attorney Jennifer Chang - Jennifer's firm centers on fighting for the rights of children with special needs to get the education and services they need. In her practice, she litigates for those children and educates their parents on becoming better advocates for their needs. In this episode, we're going to discuss: The broad spectrum of disabilities that special needs education must address. The role that Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) play in tailoring the educational experience for a special needs child and why parents must be incredibly diligent in ensuring that their child's IEP accurately covers ALL of the services. Why seeking the services of a special education attorney even before an impasse with the school district is in the best interests for all parties. How school districts blame COVID for staffing shortages and why that isn't an excuse when it comes to special needs support. And more. Special needs students are not always given the attention and support they need. We hope this episode helps you and those you know better understand the tools and processes needed to help get a special needs student the education they are entitled to.

Today’s episode of Conceptually Speaking features author, consultant, and eLearning innovator, Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall. Dr. Wathall, or Jenny, as she requests we call her, brings a refreshing balance of disciplinary expertise and an eye for innovation. We cover a wide range of topics in our dialogue, from assessment to higher education to online teaching, but the connective tissue between each one is her desire to transform learning and pedagogy. Dr. Walthall advocates for designing authentic learning experiences that blend disciplinary expertise with interdisciplinary collaboration and finding ways to position students as producers and publishers of knowledge, instead of simply consumers. Shifts that are beautifully captured by the way she describes what’s missing in a lot of math instruction. Jenny’s work as a K12 consultant and professor at Hong-Kong University grants her a unique perspective on the wider trends shaping education at all age levels. This episode is full of practical ideas for classroom teachers and philosophical musings for the future of education. Basically, it’s perfect for our current watershed moment.

To continue to add to the collaborative sharing of teachers globally, in this episode of IB Voices, math teacher, author and educational consultant Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall, provides top tips on how to manage the remote learning environment as effectively as possible.

In this episode, we’ll dive into a great conversation about shifting mathematics teaching from what many of us remember from our K-12 learning journey to a more progressive, inquiry approach to teaching mathematics conceptually. In particular, we’ll discuss with Jennifer Chang-Wathall how to be brave in your classroom to make necessary changes to promote student understanding, unpacking what teaching conceptually really means, and how we can ensure that students still learn the necessary facts and skills alongside conceptual understanding. Entrepreneurship requires creativity and innovative thinking. Yet living and working in one location can feel like being trapped in an echo chamber, thereby limiting our creative potential. In 2018, Jennifer Chang found herself at a crossroads. She had successfully sold a startup in 2017 and chased the rising tech pay into the job market, but felt her creativity was being stifled by job descriptions. After being fired from yet another job, she decided to embark on a six month journey around the world to revitalize her creative energy. Her trip took her across 5 continents, 20 countries, 35 flights, and 45,000 miles. Throughout her journey, she met with entrepreneurs, investors, and technologists, using a shared interest in startups as a way to connect with local people, places, and cultures. In this presentation, Jennifer will share highlights from her journey, including the unique organizations and companies she came across as she travelled the globe, looking for entrepreneurial soulmates. Bio: Jennifer Chang is a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur, occasional digital nomad, and world traveler. Jennifer joined her first startup in 2008, and over the past decade, has been involved in over 20 startups as cofounder, executive, advisor and consultant. She's worn many hats over the years and applies her background in marketing and finance to help startups craft compelling stories to attract customers, investors, and employees. Jennifer is the founder of TechSparks, a networking group and practice pitchfest for early stage entrepreneurs. She previously served as the head of operations, marketing, and finance as the Chief Operating Officer and founding team member at FanBread, a digital media publishing startup which was acquired by RockYou in 2017. She joined as head of marketing for growth stage companies including Perfect Market (Idealab), Haven, and NEXT Trucking. Jennifer has also held roles at best-in-class companies, Apple, Disney and KPMG. Jennifer received her MBA and Certificate in Technology Commercialization from USC Marshall School of Business, and a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. She also earned her MA in Cultural and Creative Industries at King’s College London. Twitter: @jenhchang / @techsparks Email: jennifer@techsparks.net
