According to most medical sources, roughly 10-20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. Although we probably all know people who have experienced miscarriage (or have ourselves), this is a staggering statistic. But according to Kelly Jean-Philippe, host of The Miscarriage Dads podcast, men are often overlooked and undermined when it comes to grieving the devastating loss of a miscarriage. Kelly shares candidly about his family's multiple pregnancy losses, and why he is working diligently to shed light on the often-overlooked grief and needs of fathers during these challenging times. Stay to the end for an uplifting installment of Kisses and Disses!Episode 118 of Modern Dadhood broaches a subject that hasn't come up in the history of the show to date: Miscarriage. The guys play back a conversation Adam had with father of two and podcaster Kelly Jean-Philippe, whose podcast The Miscarriage Dads aims to normalize the conversation about men and their need for support during the loss of a pregnancy. Welcome to "5 Minutes of Peace," your daily moment to reflect, recharge, and renew. Today's message, brought to you by The Peace Room, invites us to awaken something profound within ourselves.Children awaken our own sense of self when we see them hurting, struggling, or testing their boundaries. By watching their eyes and listening to their hearts, we come to realize that children are true gifts if we accept them. Kathleen Tierney Creeley reminds us of the invaluable lessons children offer through their fresh perspectives and unfiltered honesty.Children view the world with fresh eyes, unburdened by cynicism, and with open hearts. Their spontaneous reactions to life's events reflect their genuine selves. Observing children can help us see the unnecessary complexities we've added to our lives. Their simple honesty can guide us back to viewing the world with wonder, a byproduct of living by the principles of peace and mindfulness.By embracing these principles, we let go of the past's baggage and learn to live fully in the present. We come to trust in a power greater than ourselves that has everything under control. Children instinctively trust those who care for them, and we too can learn to trust again by applying these steps to our lives.Affirmation:"I will look to this day with wonder and trust. Everything is okay. I am in the care of a power greater than myself."Thank you for joining us for "5 Minutes of Peace." The podcast, "5 Minutes of Peace," created by ThePeaceRoom, offers a brief moment for self-reflection and renewal. In this episode, Kelly Jean reads a passage from "Sacred Geometry, Language of the Angels" by Richard Heath. (https://a.co/d/9xzUJL1)The book explores the concept of angels beyond religious confines, emphasizing their role in the planetary destiny of humanity. Angels, with a deep understanding of numbers and universal patterns, contributed to Earth's evolution. The human mind, emerging from the framework conditions set by angels, serves the purpose of the universe knowing itself. Heath contrasts angelic and human minds, highlighting the top-down harmony of angels and the bottom-up contingency of humans. Ancient angelic number science, transmitted through astronomy, influenced early human civilizations, leading to the development of measures and geometrical forms. Kelly Jean, Metta Bhavana meditation on Loving KindnessMetta Bhavana, or loving-kindness meditation, is a practice rooted in Buddhist tradition that cultivates feelings of compassion, love, and kindness towards oneself and others. The practice involves a series of stages where practitioners mentally send well-wishes and positive intentions to different categories of individuals, gradually expanding the circle of compassion. It typically begins with sending love and well-being to oneself, then extending these feelings to a loved one, a neutral person, a difficult person, and finally, to all beings universally. Through Metta Bhavana, individuals aim to dissolve feelings of negativity, resentment, and judgment, replacing them with a sense of genuine care and goodwill, fostering emotional healing and a greater sense of interconnectedness with the world.Connect with us at THEPEACEROOM.love

In this episode, we have special guests Kelly Jean Badgley and Christopher Driscoll joining us. We talk about their spiritual journey, Kelly's website, Peace Room Love and how they combine Reiki and ASMR.  Kelly Jean Badgley is a voiceover artist, Reiki Practitioner, and online content creator. A second-generation Reiki Master, her Reiki training began in Boise, Idaho with her mother Jenny Stinson of The Peace Room where Kelly Jean received Reiki I & II training. After experiencing the profound, life-changing effects of Reiki for herself and others, Kelly Jean continued her training, which now include her receiving Holy Fire® III Reiki Master, Holy Fire® III Karuna® Master, Animal Reiki Master, Medical Reiki Master, and Reiki Drumming. Kelly Jean's reiki practice and classes are informed by a lifelong curiosity and appreciation for health and wellness, including hatha yoga training and certifications, spiritual practices such as Nichiren Buddhism and meditation, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping, and more recently, remote viewing. Outside of Reiki, Kelly Jean's voiceover work includes animation, commercials, audiobooks, online corporate trainings, IVRs and voicemail greetings, podcasts, meditations, etc. Some of Kelly's clients include Netflix, Nickelodeon, Pandora/Sirius XM, etc.  She also voices and produces the podcast 5 mins of Peace. Most recently, Kelly Jean has blended her experience with Reiki and voiceover to produce  This ASMR Reiki Life, a YouTube based Reiki Channel that brings together Reiki healing experiences with the phenomenon known as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). Combining the two modalities into a single experience is an obvious, albeit challenging and rewarding new avenue for Kelly Jean and she is enjoying learning more about the online format and how to leverage it for her Reiki practice.  Website:https: //www.thepeaceroom.love/about-kelly-jean Website:https: //www.kellyjeanbadgley.com/ YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@ThisASMRReikiLife  Christopher Driscoll is associate professor of religion studies at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. His books and teaching take place at the intersections of religion and spirituality, race and social identity, and the power of belief and disbelief. He is the author of numerous books on topics such as race and religion, hip hop culture, and mountaineering religions; and, he has lectured extensively across the U.S. and internationally in universities, religious and spiritual communities, and various corporate settings. Having spent the first half of his adult life believing himself a skeptic and an atheist, a single distance reiki session several years ago transformed his life. Driscoll had spent many years using the tools of scholarship to try and convince others that belief in God or forces we cannot see was dangerous and should be avoided. He is now in the process of unlearning and relearning how to use those tools in order to empower others both inside and outside of academia. His collaboration with Kelly Jean Badgley, This ASMR Reiki Life, is one example of this process unfolding, and he is exploring film and online video for the presentation of his work. His latest book, White Devils, Black Gods: Race, Masculinity, and Religious Codependency (Bloomsbury, 2022), chronicles much of his recent personal transformation that took place alongside his research into a little known black American spiritual community called the Nation of Gods and Earths. While the book began as a way to tell the peculiar story of how race and gender and history impact this community's belief that the white man is the devil, it evolved to include a deeply vulnerable account of Driscoll's own personal growth made possible by an unflinching confrontation with the devil within.  Website: https://www.christopherdriscollphd.com The Reiki Lifestyle® Podcast: The podcast where we talk about all things Reiki! It's common to hear folks in the industry say "it's all yoga", but Kelly-Jean and Ashley suggest that both what yoga is and also what it is not should be at the heart of our teaching and practice. In Episode 8, we talk around/about embodiment and the role of asana in contemporary practice.

Ep 26: The practice of yoga is a deeply personal one, resonating differently for us all. Kelly Jean Moore credits her own discovery of yoga to not only saving her life, but helping her to truly live and escape the self destructive path she was on. Kelly Jean experienced a lot of trauma as a child and subsequently had some turbulent years as a teenager and young adult. However, in her early twenties her inner voice began speaking to her and loudly. She knew deep within that the path she was on wasn't serving her in any way. She attended her first yoga class soon after and was immediately hooked. In just a few short months she was teaching! It was the study of Rolfing however that really transformed her yoga practice and the understanding of the body. Of course she and I get into her origin story, yoga, different types of yoga practice, and Rolfing along with biohacking the system, the ritual of grounding, finding beauty in the mundane daily activities, and the psychology and communication of movement. We also chat about body image, yoga bodies, putting ourselves out there in the world, and above all being true to ourselves and speaking our truth. Kelly Jean is a yoga teacher in Charleston, SC and has been for almost 16 years. She's also a certified Rolfer for 7 years, lover of the arts, mama, and owner of Mission Yoga in Charleston, SC. www.therefinedhippie.com IG: @therefinedhippie www.wearemissionyoga.com Kelly Jean's Personal IG:@kellyjeanlovesyou  Mission Yoga IG: @wearemissionyoga tipalink.com
