am filing to run for Senate against Kirsten Sinema in 2024! I am aware that Ruben gallego may run for Senate! In fact, I signed his petition in support! Because I am a good sport, unlike trump! Who still hasn't conceded the 2020 election yet, against Joe biden!!!! Surely a sign of treason if there ever was one! So anyway I told Ruben gallego that he isn't excellent candidate, but I am going to give it my best shot! I will be his competition for the primaries. And if he wins the primaries, I will be happy to support an excellent Democratic candidate for Senator to replace useless Senator $inema! And I'm sure that if I win the Democratic primaries in 2024, Ruben gallego would accept defeat gracefully! Unlike the Republicans, who in my opinion should all be designated a terrorist organization! If you agree tell the doj 202-514-2000, also demand Trump and his gqp lackeys in the Congress are locked up, pronto!!!!! And Barred from office under the 14th Amendment. Do your job as an american, make a free call ffs!! I look forward to $inema being a one-term senator LOL she really sucks, a huge disappointment to us all! I voted for her too, I wish I could get my vote back!!!! So I just started a new page for my Senate run, it is Trista for Senate 2024 please go follow, because that's where all the action's going to be for the next couple of years! Today's show discusses various political events and economic developments of the past week, in anticipation of next week's big announcements on the Consumer Price Index report and the Federal Reserve's latest rate hike decisions. Today's show discusses Senator Kirsten Sinema's decision to leave the Democrat party and become independent and what that means for the media's hype of the Democrats ‘safe' control of the Senate now with Warnock's win in Georgia; Biden's announcement of a sop thrown to labor to save multiemployer pension system (a history of the evolution of pensions in US is offered); Exxon's announcement of a new $50B stock buyback bonanza for shareholders (+ history of stock buybacks in US since 2010); financial problems at the big EU bank, Credit Suisse and crypto company FTX in US; the politics behind the announcement last week b y the EU/G7/US to impose a maximum $60/barrel on Russian global oil sales. Show concludes with a breakdown of today's Produce Price Index (PPI) report that shows a record surge in food prices and only moderate slowing of energy prices + a brief review of the Fed's latest Consumer Credit report showing consumer debt has risen by $500 billion over the pre-Covid 2019 levels.
What You Need to Know is how the Senate power balance works! Arizona Sen. Kirsten Sinema has left the Democrat Party and is now an independent. Make no mistake, she's not conservative, but with Georgia's Warnock reelected to the Senate, the perceived 51-49 lead is now cut to 50-49-1. That means that Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin are squarely back in the driver's seat of the Senate. Also, the more on the Musk file dump from Twitter! Dr. Ted Malloch, author, lecturer, businessman, and contributor to American Greatness, talks about his latest article FTX and the Root of Our Financial Crisis. Without rediscovering our virtues, we can't understand how to get to and fix the root of our financial and moral crisis, he says! Be sure to check out more of his columns at AmGreatness.com. Chris Chmielenski, Deputy Director of NumbersUSA, joins to talk about the bad idea of the Eagle Act in Congress. This awful legislation would allow all temporary workers current and future to stay in the U.S. permanently as long as their employer sponsors them. This would apply down the line to even H2-B visa, or unskilled seasonal workers. Congress is using the Lame Duck session to try and shove it through! Follow Chris's work at NumbersUSA.com. Wrap Up: Put up the lights and get to celebrating! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas Season despite the work we do to get ready for it!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Arizona-based Economist Jim Rounds joins Chris to discuss the latest Senate climate deal and how listeners should contact Senator Kirsten Sinema to ask her to oppose the bill--after Senate leadership left her out of negotiations
We welcome Citizen Action's endorsed candidate for State Treasurer, Angelito Tenorio, to talk about his grassroots campaign to win the primary election on August 9th. We discuss the huge news this week that Tom Nelson and Alex Lasry ended their campaigns for Senate and endorsed Mandela Barnes, leaving two viable candidates and a new dynamic to the race. In other huge news, is there really a Manchin deal on climate, health care, and corporate taxes which brings President Biden's domestic agenda back from the dead? The new Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 may pass as early as next week. But is the national media right it is a done deal or is the other obstructionist Sen. Kirsten Sinema waiting in the wings. Robert educates us on the significance of the Climate and Equity Resolution for the Milwaukee Public Schools.

If you listen closely enough, you can hear it. It comes as a whimper, a mutter, a stutter, a fluttering tinge of insecurity. It's there, right on the tip of your tongue. You know what I'm talking about. You just don't want to admit it. So, who is he? Go on, tell me. I won't judge. I promise. But I want to know his name. What is it? Is it Donald Trump? Is it Barrack Obama? Is it Joe Biden? Is it Joe Manchin? Is it Mitch McConnell? Perhaps you like to live on the wild side, so you chose Ron DeSantis. Perhaps you like to live on the mild side, so you chose Kirsten Sinema. Perhaps you like to live on the child side, so you chose Rand Paul. It could be anyone really. But he's out there. You know, your daddy. Almost everyone needs a daddy when it comes to politics. Not your biological father, that's different. I'm talking about your dada, the one you cheer for on the television when he promises you he'll take care of you next time for the fifth time in one election cycle. Yeah, good old Pop never lets down. Well, he does, but the mythos of the all-protecting father is too alluring to simply discard. You know, like Tim Allen from Home Improvement or Uncle Phil from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Whatever your pleasure. They come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Daddy knows best. My daddy told me that your political ideology is too stupid to be on the big boy news channels. My daddy knows better than your daddy. He makes more money! Daddy, daddy, daddy. Your superhero. Your knight in shining armor. Your Prince Charming. Your Superman. Your King Tut. Your daddy. Almost all of the great fictional characters in literature are daddies. Daddies rushing to the rescue of the dumb little children. Daddies racing against time to save the world from the crazy uncle. Daddies repairing broken down engines, and broken down toilets, and broken down lives in a vain attempt to save some broken down town. Daddy to the rescue! What's that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's the individual you see as your personal protection from the world around you. They are your rock and they are going to fix it for you, whatever is broken today that is. Most have one. Few will admit it. It is the person who tells them what to think and how to react to those who challenge them. Daddy dearest. My daddy let's me have ice cream for dinner. He says I'm all grown up like his friends on the television, and this year for Christmas my daddy's buying two ponies, and one them will have a chocolate saddle. My daddy loves me oh so very much. He loves me more than other daddies love their children. The point is that everyone has their own, personal bias. This bias is individualistic and nature, and requires a deep analysis of a person's personality before you can even begin to decide the sources of this bias. This is not a communal or a cultural bias. This resides deep within the subconscious mind, causing otherwise rational individuals to either block out information that opposes the source or to utilize said information in such way that bolsters support of the source, hence reinforcing the bias. Yet there are people out there who believe that everyone thinks alike, that they are all swayed in the exact same ways by different sources. These same people believe that social media has torn the nation asunder, dividing us and causing us to be so polarized that there is not opportunity of solid, meaningful discussion. But what exactly are the links between social media usage and radicalization? Where is the proof for this claim? Is there any at all? Well, it turns out that no, there is not a whole lot of scientific proof for this claim. In fact, all real world data indicates not only that echo chambers do not exist, but that social media use exposes people to a rich variety of sources including print, radio, television, and advertising, as well as independent social media channels. Is not this democracy? Is not this freedom of the press? Why demonize it? --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/morecontentplease/support

It was a tough week for the Biden administration. On Thursday the Supreme Court blocked the president's vaccine and testing mandate for large private companies, dealing a big blow to his plans to use federal power to fight the pandemic. And just two days after the president delivered a blistering speech in Atlanta calling for passage of voting rights legislation, the White house received more bad news: Arizona Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema reiterated in a speech on the chamber floor that she would not vote to change Senate rules on the filibuster, a move that essentially stalls Biden's two voting rights bills. All this is happening in the shadow of the upcoming midterm elections, which loom large over everything that will (or will not) happen in Washington in 2022. Tom Bevan, co-founder and president of RealClearPolitics, Washington Bureau Chief Carl Cannon, and Senior Elections Analyst Sean Trende join Andrew Walworth on today's RealClearPolitics Takeaway podcast.
Greg Palast discusses January 6th and the undemocratic nature of our Democracy. It's SCARY!: Greg Palast lays it out. And it turns the constitution never guaranteed us a real Democracy where the vote really mattered. January 6th‘s genesis was the big lie. The lie said Donald Trump won the election and that Joe Biden stole it. Biden finally forcefully slammed Trump and his sycophants for their unpatriotic attack on our nation. On this day, I wanted to talk to someone who had no fear of discussing our country's flaws and successes. Greg Palast fitted the bill. Tim Danahey discusses Jan 6 and uses the appropriate language to describe what Trump represents: The Radio show host, activist, & entrepreneur Tim Danahey puts Jan 6 into perspective as he discusses Trump's constitutional jihad. Tim Danahey and I go back a very long time. We were both on the Coffee Party USA Board of Directors. I always considered Tim a moderate. He refers to himself as a Progressive who knows how to get things done. The thing is, we respect each other's point of view as ultimately we are trying to get to the same place. Ari Melber destroys Trump's main insurrectionist planner: Do you realize you were describing a COUP?: Peter Navarro (@RealPNavarro) underestimated @AriMelber. Very often, a calm demeanor is more effective. Melber skinned Navarro like a skillful fisherman. This extended interview was pleasant to watch. Peter Navarro likely thought he would get the soft treatment he usually gets from network TV on Ari Melber's program. That would not be the case. Melber continued to give him all the rope he needed to hang himself. GOP Governor to deceived Trump Republicans: Insane to believe January 6 was not their violence: Governor Larry Hogan, (R-MD) called out Trump Republicans for their willful deception over January 6th. It was a violent insurrection. It is refreshing to find Republicans who are not scared of Trump's shadow. Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland is one of those. Here is his response after Dana Bash asked him about January 6th and the Republican response. DISGRACE! Chuck Todd allows GOP Rep. to equate GOP violence & Jan 6 with packing courts & BLM: The mainstream media, in this case, a Chuck Todd interview, fails the country at the wrong time. False equivalences are dangerous. I point out these mainstream media failures over and over again. And I will continue to do it. The estimated1.75 trillion dollar Build Back Better bill offers much in the way of health care, paid leave, child care, home care, affordable housing, and affordable housing. But the high cost of the bill and the reality of inflation is causing the GOP and some Democrats to consider voting against it. Guests Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Joe Manchineel, Sen. Kirsten Sinema, Sen. Warren Davidson, Tesla founder Elon Musk, and Juanita Tolliver from MSNBC weigh in.
Our individual sense that My Vote Matters and will cause a meaningful outcome is all each of us want. That has eroded for decades and may never have existed for young voters. Our vote has been relegated to dutifully selecting one of two candidates by party label. Little more. For our entire lives we’ve relied on the messages of each major Party to translate to policy that works in the interest of the American people. The competing party platforms are summarized by the size of government being reflective of our compassion for people versus a smaller government that is more fiscally responsible and allows people to self-determine.It’s obvious to all of us that the government is the largest one in history, assimilates every tax dollar and there are 43 million Americans living in poverty. That’s where we are terminally stuck, 21 years into the 21st Century. We see that each of the messages that we’ve voted for our entire lives have fallen woefully short. Without meaningful outcomes American votes have lost value to most Americans. This is where I am on my American journey. If you’re like me, then you’re fed up and just want more common-sense and humility in Congress to represent the affordable priorities of most Americans. Most of us like a little from each side, embrace the same American values and want the same equality of opportunity that cohesive policy and economic certainty can promote. No one represents American interests over political interests in Congress. Not even your Congressperson or Senator. They’re seemingly incapable and despite good intentions and modest actions are trapped by the system. The Congressional agenda is controlled by one person in both chambers, the respective majority leaders, and focuses entirely on supporting political interest and majority control of the chambers. The will of most American people rarely, if ever influences agenda or policy.Make “My Vote Matter” by Considering Candidates Who Are Likely to be Representative of Most AmericansAnticipate the Potential of a Coalition of Red & Blue Moderates, Who Can Control Congressional Agenda to Protect the Affordable Priorities of Most AmericansMaking “My Vote Matter” could be as basic as voting for a Congressional candidate who is likely to caucus as a red or blue moderate, in order to positively influence control of the agenda over the majority leader in each chamber. Voters would need to anticipate that other voters are of a like mind, know the rules for participating in their State’s Primary election, then just as important to the process, a candidate would be encouraged to run by anticipating that voters would turnout motivated to nominate a more representative candidate for the November 8th election.Matthew Yglesias and Steven Teles, in a recent The Atlantic article, A Moderate Proposal make a case for a coalition of red and blue Congressmembers who could control the agenda and move the Senate forward. They appropriately call the group a “Fulcrum”.Lee Drutman says in “Breaking the Two-Party Doom Loop: The Case for Multiparty Democracy in America” that Congress was more responsive before the Civil Rights Bill of 1965 because of a Moderate red and blue membership that he calls “Shadow Parties”. The Republican and Democratic Parties as four parties. The shadow parties were red or blue moderates who identified with their party and who also considered the interests of their constituency. They moderated the debate. (Mr. Drutman hasn’t endorsed this solution. He is more in favor of Proportional Representation)Joseph Manchin and Kirsten Sinema, Moderate Democratic Senators, became pivotal (a fulcrum) recently. Their pushback was disruptive to bills from the Democratic Party. Their positions forced the two sides to have conversations that would’ve never occurred otherwise. It was not surprising that they were characterized through social media and corporate news as being extremists for their center position.Congressional Midterm Primaries are Low Turnout & Vulnerable to a Well-Executed Plan by Informed Voters!A Plan to Influence Control of 118th Congressional Agenda over Chamber Majority Leaders by two well-organized red & blue groups of Congress people. The 118th Congress, with more moderate Republican and Democratic Congressmembers could work together to control the agenda that will focus on the interests of Americans, instead of the nonstop politically oriented schedule and policies that favor the consortium of wealthy election donors that each chamber leader overtly serves at the expense of the American people.Rampart Caucus is an idea for sharing information that will inform and empower people like us to Vote in the 2022 Primaries to nominate humility and common-sense to the November 8, 2022 General Election for the 118th Congress. Red or Blue candidates who will also consider the interests of their constituency.Giving my single vote meaning and value and making it matter can only be achieved by giving like-minded people HOPE that we’ll all turnout at the next election and consider candidates who will most likely represent the affordable priorities of most Americans.Submitted Humbly for My Kids, Randell S. On todays episode, a beat on the GOP opposition to raising the debt ceiling and the Dems C.R. solution on the budget, after which Chris and Vick go through the Socratic exercise of what the infrastructure negotiations are about. Do these machinations matter to you? Is Biden going to get bruised here? What is the problem? And who is the problem?Progressives or moderates? Manchin and/or Sinema? Schumer or McConnell? Pelosi or McCarthy? Also, A Closer Look: at the genius of The White Stripes and on an unfair headline decrying that Joe Manchin is rejecting Nancy Pelosi's call for a deal.
In todays episode, Chris shares an anecdote about a run in with a hornet in his house this morning as an instruction on how Dems need to play their hand. He hits on the idea that playing nice will not get it done when it comes to Democrats getting their dual infrastructure plans passed, as the window is closing for action before the midterms. Not to mention the hill to die on in Chris' estimation: getting the Freedom to Vote Act passed, like, yesterday. The opposition of Senator Manchin and Senator Sinema to the $3.5 trillion reconciliation is a problem for Dems they need to figure out and fix. Voters will not forgive them for "Manchinema's" blockage, they will see it as a failure of the whole party. And Another Thing: Chris takes a beat on tennis star Novak Djokovic being able to play at the U.S. Open despite saying no to the vaccine. Contrasted with Naomi Osaka's pile on over protecting her own mental health, Chris shines a light on this selective outrage.
This is an encore episode of “The View.” The co-hosts will return Tuesday, Sept. 7 LIVE for our season 25 premiere and celebration! Sen. Kyrsten Sinema defends her support of filibuster and shares about her special friendship with Meghan McCain. Then, Pres. Biden's pick for ambassador to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture Cindy McCain discusses pushback she got from crossing party lines to endorse and reflects on her daughter's time on “The View.” The co-hosts look back on McCain's four years as co-host and she shares a farewell message to viewers.
The US Senate worked through the weekend — for the second week in a row — to try to come to agreement on an infrastructure bill. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio and Senator Kirsten Sinema of Arizona led a bipartisan group of 10 Senators to stitch together an agreement. The final vote tally on Tuesday morning — 69 ayes to 30 nays — included 19 Republicans who joined Democrats to support the measure. Democrats will now move on a larger, companion bill that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said is part of a “two-track” strategy to address the nation's physical and human infrastructure needs. For an update on the bill and what it might mean for Baltimore and for Maryland, we begin today with Maryland's junior senator, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who joins us on Zoom from the US Capitol in Washington, DC. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

THE FILIBUSTER, DREAM MARCH & ARIZONA INSANITY The 58TH GRASSROOTS ELECTION PROTECTION COALITION zoom gathering begins with a hot discussion of the Senate filibuster and why a Democratic President like Joe Biden would support it. We're greeted by news that REV. JESSE JACKSON and others have been arrested at the office of Arizona Sen. Kirsten Sinema. We hear from JUSTIN LEBLANC, HOWIE HAWKINS, DOROTHY REIK & other speculating on why the Democrats won't move to restructure how our laws are made…and why they won't come forward to protect our voting rights. We hear from DC Statehood champion CHARLES MORELAND on the DC events upcoming August 27 (Awards Banquet), 28 (Mass Marches) and 29 (Prayer Breakfast). JOEL SEGAL then tells of the August 30 Summit/Roundtable bringing together 50 of the nation's top leaders on voting rights, fighting poverty & winning a green-powered Earth. Segal also discusses the idea of a progressive ALEC to mirror the Koch-funded American Legislative Exchange Council to draw up legislation for a just/green America. Finally we get a mind-boggling report on the recount insanity in Arizona from STEVE ROSENFELD, JOHN BRAKEY & RAY LUTZ. You couldn't make this stuff up!!!
HR1 - The Most Important Bill in American History The episode looks at HR1 or S1 as it is titled in the Senate, the most important bill in Biden's presidency and, perhaps, in modern American history. It is a must-pass for Democrats, for Biden, and for Democracy worldwide. This bold, comprehensive bill fixes a lot of what has been broken in the past 4 decades. It combats dark money, foreign interference, partisan gerrymandering, but most importantly it raises the national minimum standards to protect voting rights. The Right to Vote is the bedrock of democracy. It's under massive attack and this bill might just be the only thing that can save it. This episode is subtitled Why Congress Matters, because it is imperative to know what laws Congress is considering and to be part of that process. This episode is an in depth primer on HR1 or The For the People's Act as it is known. This bill does a lot. It is the Democrats taking the fight back to the Republicans who have been chipping away at the ability of the people to participate in government and to elect Representatives who listen to them and advance their interests and priorities. The provisions of HR1 have 4 main categories Voting Rights and election security; Campaign Finance Reform - tackles dark money, foreign election interference Ethics Reform for all three branches of government - important because the Supreme Court is not subject to any ethical standards; A catchall that closes all the loopholes Trump and his kleptocratic cronies used to treat the office of the Presidency and the Executive Branch as their person piggy banks to benefit themselves and their interests at the expense of the country and it outlaws those practices. Who opposes HR1/S1? Republicans, obviously, but also some Democrats. What should be a Democratic legislative slam dunk, a patriotic message screamed from every Demcratic House Representative and Senator is seeming dead on arrival. Under the guise of protecting a legislative procedural rule, unique to the Senate, namely the filibuster. Joe Manchin the ostensibly Democratic Senator from West Virginia penned an Op-Ed coming out against HR1/S1 and declared his firm commitment to keeping the filibuster. He is joined by one of the most annoying alleged-Democratic Senators, Kirsten Sinema from Arizona. She joined Senator Cornyn from Texas, in Texas right after the Texas Democrats temporarily blocked the Republican's massive voter suppression bill to declare Sinema's commitment to the filibuster. Seemingly a clear message that they are both in league with the Republicans to suppress the vote. But they are not the only Democratic Senators standing in the way of HR1/S1. Finally, we encourage listeners to advocate for the passage of this bill by following the link below to Vote Save America (a helpful tool from the Pod Save America guys) so they can contact your Senators and PUSH them to get on board with saving democracy.
