The Midnight Game begins with a drop of blood, a candle, and 22 knocks at the stroke of midnight. What follows is an ancient pagan ritual reborn in the digital age – a deadly game of hide and seek with a shadow entity known as the Midnight Man. From its origins as punishment to its spread across college campuses worldwide, this ritual has left countless participants traumatized by what they've encountered. The rules are simple: maintain your candlelight and avoid the Midnight Man until 3:33 AM. Victims report seeing the same entity – a tall, thin shadow with unnatural movements and conscious intent. The Midnight Man isn't alone, however, but part of a global phenomenon of shadow beings that appear consistently across cultures throughout human history. Scientists and paranormal researchers alike have documented strange occurrences during ritual attempts, from sudden temperature drops to inexplicable equipment failures. The Midnight Man waits in the darkness between worlds, just a ritual away.
The Midnight Man is a modern supernatural entity summoned through a precise midnight ritual involving candles, blood, and 22 knocks, who then pursues the summoner through their darkened home for exactly 3 hours and 33 minutes. Today we're curing bad vibes with caffeine, and I can't decide if that's a good move or a bad one. On this episode, it's another compilation, as we deep-dive into three paranormal games/rituals that have gone viral online. I tell you all about the elevator game, the three kings ritual, and the Midnight Man, and go off on a couple tangents along the way, of course. On Saturday, January 12th, 1974, the just heard Mason Adams starred alongside Joan Loring, Tom Keena, Sam Gray, and Alan Manson in the seventh episode of The CBS Radio Mystery Theater. This aircheck comes from WOR and it's a mystery in the truest sense of the word. Joan Lorring, who voiced Hedy, was at the time of this broadcast forty-seven years old. She'd already been nominated for an Academy Award in The Corn Is Green in 1945, and won a Donaldson, the predecessor of the Tony, in 1950 for her portrayal of Marie Buckholder in Come Back, Little Sheba. On radio, her career spanned the gamut. She starred as Judy Foster in the second season of A Date With Judy, played on Suspense in the 1940s, in Theater Five in the 1960s, and finally on The CBS Radio Mystery Theater in the 1970s. Later this year she appeared in Burt Lancaster's neo noir mystery film The Midnight Man.

I Want to Believe the Podcast – S6 E10 | The Midnight Game - Halloween Special 2023 Opening song: Midnight by Ice-T Closing song: In the Midnight Hour by Wilson Pickett Clips throughout: Sam Golbach | Hai Kuu | Kaylena Orr Ay! Welcome to the 2023 Halloween Special of the I Want to Believe podcast! There are a lot of paranormal games that people have played in order to experience a ghost, demon or just to have some spooky fun. Halloween is typically when a lot of these games are played and some say they do nothing more than work up an active imagination. However, others have claimed devastating effects. People have said that they've been scared so badly that they were never the same again. Some even claimed that they were haunted horribly for years after trying one of the paranormal games. More rare stories involve possession, disappearances and death. There are quite a few paranormal games to play such as Dry Bones, The Closet Game, Three Kings, and one you probably remember from your childhood, Bloody Mary. They all come with varying degrees of difficulty and rules but the game in question on this night, is really quite simple. Despite this, the Midnight Game is claimed to be one of the more dangerous ones you can play. It first started to make the internet rounds of 4chan and Reddit around the early 2010s. There was talk of it having some kind of pagan origin, but like many creepy pastas, specific origins are hard to come by. By playing the game, you summon the Midnight Man, who is a demon of unknown origin and is said to stalk you throughout your home for 3 hours and 33 minutes, which is the length of the game. As you walk around your home with a lit candle, it is said that you can tell when the demon is near by hearing whispers, feeling cold spots and seeing shadows. Should your candle go out… the Midnight Man will find you and will remove your organs one by one, devouring them as you die. Tonight, join me as I play the Midnight Game. EPISODE 326: The High Priests are back at it, this time analysing the latest issue from Casa de McKay MOON KNIGHT Vol.9 #22 A popular issue amongst the Loonies, this one will be fun to discuss, as well as hear from you, in our "Quotation Marc" feedback segment! PHASE OF THE MOON: null and void SEGMENT: MOONSHINE Moon Knight Vol. 9 #22 "Instinct" Release Date April 12, 2023 Cover Date June, 2023 Writer(s) Jed MacKay Penciler(s) Alessandro Cappuccio Inker(s) Alessandro Cappuccio Colorist(s) Rachelle Rosenberg Letterer(s) VC's Cory Petit Editor(s) Tom Brevoort BARE BONES (Written by Rey): An old villain seemingly returns to cause havoc to the criminal underworld before turning his attention to wealthy citizens. Tigra discusses the return of Midnight Man with Mr Knight, at Tigra's apartment, alongside her son William. Mr. Knight appears disinterested in Midnight Man's escapades much to Tigra's surprise, and so she takes it upon herself to hunt him down, but not before a viewing of the Goonies on VHS. Touching base with Detective Flint and Hawkeye, Tigra manages to track down a common thread between the robberies and a grisly event that occurred to the victims' parents…all slain by what appears to be a wild animal. Tigra ponders Marc's nonchalance at capturing his old nemesis, and it's not long before Tigra leaps in for the kill, after staking out the Midnight Man at his final target. Shockingly, the Midnight Man is revealed as Marc himself, and he explains to Tigra, the financial need to rob from the rich and criminal. Tigra is hurt at having been lied to by Marc, after all they have been through and so she leaves him at the rooftop, with Marc himself aware of the cruelty he's inflicted on yet another person he cares about. Later on, Marc returns to Tigra's apartment, sans mask, in a symbol of wanting to be closer with Tigra and wanting to be genuine with her. The issue ends with Tigra kissing Marc and clearly over the moon, with what could be the start of a new relationship. MOON RATING : Rebecca:

EPISODE 320: The Power of Chad returns to chat with Rey about the next chapter of MIDNIGHT SUN by Charlie Huston! Recapping issue #7 (as it was covered way back in ITK ep 151) both Chad and Rey also look into issue #8 to discuss Marc's progress from donning the white costume once again and hitting the streets as Moon Knight! SEGMENT: LUNAR-PICK MODERN RUN REVIEW Moon Knight Vol. 5 #8 'The Dead Don't Stay (Midnight Sun Part 2)' Release Date March 14, 2007 Cover Date April, 2007 Writer(s) Charlie Huston Penciler(s) David Finch Inker(s) Danny Miki Crimelab Studios Colorist(s) Frank D'Armata Letterer(s) Joe Caramagna Editor(s) Daniel Ketchum Axel Alonso BARE BONES (Written by Wiki): Flashback: It is the early 1990s and mercenaries Marc Spector and William Cross are stationed on top the roof of a building. Marc aims a high-powered sniper rifle at a building across the street, just as military officials escort a prisoner across the quad. He executes a blond haired woman who apparently revealed highly classified state secrets. Cross indicates that she had been previously brainwashed, and that she only revealed information already programmed inside her mind. Executing her was done merely to make the Germans and the Russians nervous. The Present: Captain America stands in Marc Spector's mansion in his civilian attire. Addressing by his former rank of sergeant, he warns Spector to stay clear of events involving the current civil war. Spector's maid, Nedda, comes into the room and tells Cap how she grew up admiring him. Distracting Marc even further is Khonshu. Adopting the visage of the late mercenary Bushman, Khonshu urges Marc to kill Captain America. Fortunately, Marc has grown quite accustomed to ignoring Khonshu's violent demands. After Cap finishes speaking, Marc fires back, criticizing the war, comparing it to a sordid love affair between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. He goes on to say that Steve that Tony are "trying to prove who has the bigger super power". Having settled very little, Cap repeats his warning and exits the mansion. Marc later goes out as Moon Knight. He meets up with Detective Flint who has been investigating a recent string of murders. The crimes have all the earmarks of the Midnight Man, but for the fact that the original Midnight Man died several years ago. Flint even disinterred Mogart's remains and tested his DNA just to be certain. Moon Knight tells Flint that he'll look into it. While on patrol, Moon Knight comes upon a hood attacking a young woman. He brutally dives into him, wrapping him up with a length of chain. Later, Marc returns home where he meets with his physical therapist. Elsewhere, the mysterious Midnight killer claims another victim. He cuts off their arms and legs and begins swinging them overtop his head in glee. MOON RATING : Chad:

Lin Shaye talks being named the Godmother of Horror, her wide range of acting roles, becoming the face of the Insidious franchise, and the time she auditioned for Jack Nicholson! About Lin: Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Lin Shaye loved “storytelling” so much that even as a child and knew that she was destined to act. She performed in plays at the University of Michigan and later was accepted into Columbia University's Master of Fine Arts program in acting, from which she graduated. While in NY she also studied with Uta Hagan, Stella Adler, and Lee Strasberg. After graduation, she worked with the best and brightest in New York theater, including the infamous Joseph Papp. Shaye made her film debut in New York in “Hester Street” where she portrayed a Polish prostitute, to her mother's chagrin. Shortly thereafter, she took a gamble and flew to Los Angeles after hearing that Jack Nicholson was interested in meeting her for the role. She was cast in his film “Goin' South.” Shaye has become undoubtedly one of the industry's greatest chameleons. The Farrelly Brothers cast her in a series of memorable characters beginning with their 1994 hit comedy “Dumb and Dumber”, and then as the infamous landlady in “Kingpin” opposite Woody Harrelson, and again as the character Magda, the sun-withered neighbor of Cameron Diaz in their hit film “There's Something About Mary.” Shaye was also unforgettable as the KISS-hating mom in “Detroit Rock City” and as Sonia, the tough German/Swedish coach in “Boat Trip” with Cuba Gooding, Jr. In a dramatic change of pace, she received critical acclaim in "The Hillside Strangler" as the alcoholic mother opposite Nick Turturro and C. Thomas Howell. The horror genre also found Lin starting with a cult favorite "Critters" and then on to Wes Craven's “Nightmare on Elm Street” which paved the way for more in the genre. She worked on a trio of movies with director Tim Sullivan:, “2001 Maniacs,” starring opposite Robert Englund, its sequel, “2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams” and Sullivan's "Chillerama". Shaye also starred in the cult classic “Snakes on a Plane” opposite Samuel L. Jackson, and the independent films "The Signal", "Jack Goes Home", "Abattoir", "Buster's Mal Heart" and "The Midnight Man" reuniting with Robert England.. In 2010 she found herself in the blockbuster hit “Insidious” directed by James Wan, which led to “Insidious Chapter 2, “Insidious: Chapter 3,” and the successful 4th film in the series "Insidious: The Last Key" in which Shaye had now had become according to James Wan: “the name of the franchise.” She also starred in Sony's “The Grudge" directed by Nicolas Pesce and the feature "Dreamkatcher" which she served as an executive producer. Shaye served as a producer and starred opposite horror icon Tobin Bell in “The Call” directed by Timothy Woodward. She most recently starred in “Ted Bundy:American Boogeyman” and next appears in the film “Frank & Penelope”. Shaye has a solid resume in television as well with guest appearances which include "American Gothic", and "Still the King". She appeared in recurring role as “Dottie” in Showtime's “Penny Dreadful:City of Angels” series. She received a 2020 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Digital Drama Series for “Eastsiders” on Netflix. She most recently completed shooting the lead role in the series “Ellen” directed by Clif Prowse and Derek Lee. Shaye resides in Los Angeles and is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. The hunger for power is the driving force behind the tenets of Luciferian ideology. Its priesthood is black magic. Its ultimate aim was stated, appropriately enough by the reptilian serpent in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were afraid that if they ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil they would die. But the serpent said “ye shall not surely die for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof then your eyes will be opened and ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil.”Originally Broadcast On 08/29/2016
Ah, Light as a Feather. That childhood slumber party staple that some would swear has some kind of actual sorcery involved. But what are its origins? Can it open a door to the spirit world? Is it even actually possible to lift a whole person with only a couple of your fingers? This short episode goes into it all. Allison even takes a moment to talk about what creepy little weirdos kids are in general, as well as how human memory works (and doesn't). You'll even get instructions on how to play a game that will apparently allow a spirit to stalk you for a few hours. Have fun! ENTERTAINING SHORT FILMS is a new category on the RPA Network, which features indie short films for your enjoyment! We applaud these creators! Midnight Man is a horror movie about Alex, a young girl who loves nothing more than to be scared out of her mind! Taking care of her grandmother in her isolated mansion on Halloween night, Alex returns to her childish love of junk food and scary movies. But when Gran sends Alex into the dreaded east wing for some blankets, she uncovers The Midnight Game. According to the rules, if Alex summons the Midnight Man, she must avoid him at all costs until 3:33 a.m. Failure to do so will result in the Midnight Man inducing hallucinations of her greatest fears—of which there are many! Is the Midnight Man just a spooky creepypasta or a terrifying evil entity that could give Alex the biggest scare of her life? To find out, turn off all the lights, grab a candle, and when the clock strikes 12, learn how to play The Midnight Game! Episode three of “Moon Knight” on Disney Plus was PACKED! We got a deeper dive into gods and avatars in the MCU (which took me back to theaters in November when we were all watching “Eternals”), another comic character in Anton Mogart aka Midnight Man, and a glimpse into Khonshu's true power. We're halfway through the season, and I genuinely don't know where this show is going from here. But… that excites me! Click the play button to hear me discuss all things episode three, including that Madripoor reference. Plus, I went to see “Everything Everywhere All at Once” this weekend! This week, Krysta, Laura and Dean discuss various urban legends of the internet. While they leave out certain key elements to perform many of the rituals they discuss. Krysta covers some amazing facts about crayons. Subscribe to Family Plot on Apple Podcasts - https://apple.co/3ElExdtSubscribe on Spotify - https://spoti.fi/2Xd97VeSubscribe everywhere else - https://bit.ly/2XcORDgThen they turn their attention to legends like using a corded telephone to call a hooded man to take you upon a sightseeing jaunt to another world. They then discuss, the Elevator Game, it's horrific history and it's potential origins in a series of bizarre elevator accidents in Japan. They then turn their attention to a Japanese game that revolves around telling ghost stories and blowing out candles, each one bringing the tellers closer and closer to darkness. Play a game with the Midnight Man where the prize on the line might just be your very life. Learn how to go candle travelling and is there anywhere scarier than the unplumbed depths of ones own mind. Then access a website, that can only be accessed alone, at midnight, in the dark where the simple act of web surfing can lead to doom. They discuss each of these stories, the legends connected and their beliefs. But rest assured, these are subjectively worse. First, Chris talks about how to summon The Midnight Man, a spirit who will play with you all night. Welcome back! In episode 4, I take the time to review/recap "The Midnight Man." This is a horror movie that can be streamed on Hulu! I talk about what I liked in the movie and what I did not like. I end it by giving the movie a score out of 10 and by offering some way that I fell it could have been better. *Disclaimer, I am not a movie-critic. Horror movies are something that I get passionate about, so I like discussing them.*
Moses Sithole is a total asshat. He preyed on people who were finally starting to triumph in life. He's a f*ckwad because he is such a misogynistic jerk who thinks of women as property and not people. Donna talks about a game that you should never play because you invite the Midnight Man into your house, and you're never sure if he leaves.
