Jimmie Vaughan is an American legend. He's spent almost 50 years playing his blues guitar, first with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, who hit big in the mid 80's with songs like “Tuff Enuff,” “Wrap it Up” and ‘Powerful Stuff,” before teaming with his brother, Stevie Ray, right before his passing for the Vaughan Brothers album. Since then, he's played with a who's who of the blues world, while also releasing his own solo records. All of that has culminated in The Jimmie Vaughan Story, from Last Music Company. The set includes 5 CD's – covering everything Vaughan has done in a band and as a sideman, with a lot of the tracks previously unreleased. But, that's just the beginning. The Deluxe Edition also features a vinyl LP of his Grammy-winning album Do You Get the Blues, two vinyl singles, a full color magazine of Vaughan's classic cars, along with the crown jewel of the set – a 240-page, hardcover book featuring a treasure trove of photos of Vaughan, his brother Stevie and family, as well as Vaughan's musical compadres over the years, plus extensive interviews, that help paint the most complete picture of a man who has never strayed from the blues.Vaughan tells us about a lot of the unreleased material and where it came from, and how he helped form the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Plus, he talks about what led to his teaming with brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan, on their album Family Style.

Great call-in show today. We spoke to a few callers and Nadine and spoke to the importance of discernment. What it means, how it works and how it shows up. We had a great opportunity to talk about how to language or to communicate boundaries. I am a recovering people pleaser. I am also a lover and nurturer, and quite honestly I really like that aspect of me, just as long as I am not allowing to be taken advantage of. Tune in to hear their story of transformation...

Sometimes in life, we operate in a cloud of confusion when what we need is clarity. We have been so turned around and upside down that we don't even know what we want anymore, let alone, manifest it. When that happened we need some CLARITY. Try this process. It is called Clarity through Contrast. Start by getting a piece of paper. Pick a general theme or issue you wish to get some clarity on. Draw a line down the middle of the page. Across the top, on the left-hand side, write "Contrast." On the right, write the word "Clarity." Under the heading "Contrast" write what you no longer want to experience, one underneath each other. Under the heading "Clarity" write what you want to happen or experience. So the great thing about this is now you have some affirmations you can use at the conclusion of the exercise! POWERFUL Stuff, y'all!

Since the 1980s and a golden age of Nashville pub rock and alt-country, Webb Wilder has been The Last of the Full Grown Men, a crowd-rousing, semi-campy, always hard rocking blend of SUN Records rock and roll, surf music and hillbilly twang. He was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS - a music freak from the get go. He and a high school friend launched themselves into music by moving to Austin in the mid 70s. But in Nashville Webb fulfilled his identity and his destiny. He's just released Powerful Stuff! Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks: Previously Unreleased Recordings 1985-1993. It was a good chance to have a wide ranging conversation about a vibrant time in Music City that never really went away. Also, a visit with Will Greig, proprietor of the one-year old Layman Drug Co., an audio and video recording showplace in a meticulously restored 120-year-old building in a fast-changing downtown neighborhood. What does its first year in business say about the Nashville studio business environment?
Today on the show I have Meghan Shimek. She is a fiber artist who creates large scale woven pieces using primarily roving. They are a little hard to describe -full of movement and texture. There’s a lot that I hope will resonate with you here. She talks about how weaving throughout a dark time in her life, full of sadness, got her back to herself and discovering her voice.
