You can also do it at your nearby creek just by implementing an inquiry-based teaching method in an outdoor setting. Laura Frost and Scott Lenhart honed their craft at Miami University's Project Dragonfly and they apply their innovative teaching method daily with their 8th-grade students. In this layered discussion, Laura and Scott share their insights about making distant places locally relevant, pushing the limits of comfort, learning local, and engaging with community members.    Guests: Laura Frost and Scott Lenhart have been teaching 8th-grade science together at Boardman Glenwood Junior High School in Boardman, Ohio since 2013. They both earned Master's degrees from Miami University's Project Dragonfly as part of the Global Field Program. Laura and Scott have also completed the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist program through Ohio State University. In 2017, they began taking select students on excursions to Costa Rica with EcoTeach. They are currently developing and implementing an outdoor-based curriculum called Project STREAM in collaboration with the Environmental Collaborative of Ohio. Their goal is to connect students to their local environment and professionals in the STEM field.

Google’s Project Stream, first unveiled last October, gave gamers a taste of what it would be like to stream heavy games directly from the cloud – from a Chrome browser, even. That effort has now evolved into something much, much more ambitious. At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week, Google formally announced Stadia. Stadia is Google’s bet on next-generation gaming: It exists entirely in the cloud, with a physical, WiFi-enabled controller that connects to whatever computer you’re playing on. WIRED’s Peter Rubin was at GDC this week for Google’s big reveal, and he joins the latest Gadget Lab episode to talk about how Stadia is supposed to work when it launches later this year. The Gadget Lab team also discuss how Google is taking aim at Microsoft’s and Amazon’s cloud gaming services, and tries to answer the most important question of all: Is streaming and capturing 4K games totally going to destroy our Google Drive subscriptions? Google is testing its content streaming project with the latest installment of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure series by game developer Ubisoft [YOO-bee-sawft]. In October, Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, which is a fictional adventure set in Ancient Greece. The game was released for gaming consoles like Xbox One and Play Station 4. However, as part of Google's Project Stream, the search giant partnered with Ubisoft to offer the game for free on the Google Chrome web browser. Earlier, Google looked for several volunteers for the test. To be accepted for the test, volunteers should be US residents aged 17 and above. Participants should also have decent Internet connection. They will be able to play the game until January 2019. Google's Project Stream is the tech company's attempt to improve Google Chrome users' streaming experience. The company aims to identify and fix difficulties users may face when streaming high-quality graphics using a browser. For the project, Google chose to stream a high-quality video game that has heavy graphics and sound requirements to test the limits of the company's streaming service. Because of the game's heavy streaming requirements, Google said that the test is expected to face problems like time lags and quality degradation. If Google's Project Stream is successful, the tech giant could lead a major change in the video game industry. Project Stream may start an era where games can be played through streaming instead of using consoles. In addition, the success of the test could let Google have a share in the growing global game industry, which is projected to reach $138 billion this year.
