Welcome back to How Humans Heal with Dr. Doni! 6 in 10 adults are living with a chronic disease, 300 million suffer from depression, 1 in 4 can’t get enough sleep, while 46% of adults are feeling lonely. When you are dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, diabetes, brain fog, depression, relationship conflict, autoimmune issues or even cancer, these things may be impossible. They become their own mountains that seem to grow in elevation with each passing day. Did you know that how we love and care for ourselves and how we love each other not only impacts disease but also resilience, depression, anxiety, sleep issues and our overall daily performance? We have all the science and diagnostics and protocols, and yet we aren’t moving the needle toward a healthier world. Why? We have lived through so many amazing scientific discoveries, yet even with all that, millions are suffering. My friend Razi Berry has spent 15 years as a publisher of NDNR, NaturalPath and the International Journal of Naturopathic Medicine (These are all publications educating doctors on natural medicine) and in that time her journals have published more than 2100 case studies. Razi noticed patterns in these cases to discover reasons why people get sick, and how they heal.   Listen in to hear insights from Razi and about how you can learn more.   On this episode we cover: What inspired Razi to create NDNR and the Love is Medicine Project? What is selfcare? What makes it hard for us to choose selfcare? How we feel towards our bodies and our loved ones can actually impact the health we have inside. Love is medicine; feeling love increases our oxytocin and helps keep cortisol in check, so our stress levels don’t contribute to the heart or other diseases. Razi Berry is a naturopathic doctor who focuses on the way love impacts our health. When Razi was a teenager, she had a severe eating disorder that was causing her heart to stop working. She knows the exact moment when she started to heal: her mother and brother were surrounding her hospital bed and telling her how much they loved her. It was that love, and love she felt for them, that told her body it was time to heal. Razi found herself asking the question “where does healing come from?” often after she was healed. And now she believes that as a society, our lack of love and empathy for one another and ourselves are contributing to chronic and incurable diseases.  As a society, we have a disconnection from nature and Razi encourages everyone to spend more time outside. Also, we should strive to become more self-aware and connected with nature, so our bodies will start to reattune and heal from the inside out. Razi shares a couple of techniques that help you reconnect with your body and feel the love. She explains how a body scan works and why you should do them regularly. Plus, she gives some examples of how power poses and various playful practices can heal the body and soul. How is your relationship with yourself and your loved ones? Have you ever practiced using body scans? When’s the last time you spent time in nature? In This Episode: What the hardest moments in your life lead to How love can heal you What has happened in our current society that leads to more chronic diseases How is how we treat nature connected to our health What happens when we have a disconnection from nature How can you become more self-aware and connected to nature What a body scan is and why you should practice them regularly How play is a healing power for the body and soul Quotes: “The naturopathic philosophy is one that says ‘the doctor doesn’t heal you, healing comes from within.’” (7:55) “It’s not just about love and relationships, but it’s about how these resources of love, in yourself and your relationship with nature, your environment, and each other are really the medicine that we need to get back to healing.” (10:02) “If we don’t know how to love ourselves, how to listen to ourselves, then that’s how we stay stuck in these patterns that take us away from our health.” (13:54) Links Find Out More About The Love is Medicine Project Find Razi Berry Online  Find Razi Berry on Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest   Check out the full episode page Find Dr. Anna Online Follow Dr. Anna on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter

Research shows that most chronic diseases have lifestyle and environmental causes. Beginning in childhood, even prenatally, events and relationships shape the way in which we interact with nature and the world around us. It lays the groundwork for future health and happiness.Science has come so far, but we aren’t getting any better. We have lost our way. We have become disconnected from our nature. The things most elemental to us as humans: What to eat, how to move, how to take care of ourselves and the earth have become, hard. Confusing. The naturopathic philosophy honors what is called the Vital Force, that invisible force that guides all living things towards growth, betterment, compassion and healing. It is love. I believe health is our God-given birthright, our natural set point and that we are designed to thrive and heal, and are given everything in nature to do so.This journey of Love is Medicine will help you get back to who you really are so that through accepting the love around you, though practicing the self-love of self-care and self-accountability, you will heal all areas of your life.

Intuition or intuitive perception is something that we all take part in, but those in a cohesive state with emotional awareness tend to be able to tap into their intuition with greater ease. Intuition takes place on an emotional, cellular and physiological level and can make a big difference in your life when you know how to utilize it.  Join me to learn how you can access the knowledge underneath your consciousness to flex your intuition muscle and take part in your own unique innate intuitive perception.  Do you feel connected to your intuition, or have you let your inner voice get lost in the crowd? Share with me in the comments on the episode page.    In This Episode Signs that you may have a strong intuitive perception and how to harness that Understanding the cellular electrophysiological metabolism happening inside of you The differences between implicit intuition, energetic sensitivity, and non-local intuition How EEG scanning can predict event-related potential and intuitive perception Finding the links between emotional awareness, cohesiveness and emotional gravity   Quotes “Most of our distress, unhappiness, and disease comes from our inability to really listen to our bodies messages.” (1:46) “Intuition is something that can make a big difference in your life if you really focus in on it, intuition is something that we all have the ability to do and it impacts many aspects of life.” (5:04) “Although the human mind and the human brain and the human heart are designed to allow for the possibility of experiencing intuition, people who are in a more cohesive state are able to experience intuition a little easier.” (15:33)   Links LIM 052: Dr. Rupert Sheldrake   Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook |Instagram

Once you make the choice to kick that bad habit, embark on that new responsibility or reach for that seemingly unachievable dream, we expect our loved ones to be supportive of our new decisions. However, sometimes this can threaten those same people, and make them seem unattached, disloyal, or straight up mean. When the people we love don't support us it can hurt, but ultimately, it is the natural selection of those you shouldn't be surrounding yourself with. Today I am exploring what to do when those closest to you aren't ready for the changes you are making, and how to cement your new healthy behavior despite any criticism or doubt. You should never feel guilty for doing something beneficial, healthy and loving for yourself, so don't let anyone else make you feel bad about it. When you are able to adopt a positive mindset around healthy lifestyle changes, gain the tools to arm yourself against temptation, surround yourself with those that support you and believe in your ability to persevere, you can ignore the haters and improve your health and happiness. In our popular culture, a life filled with positivity seen through rose-colored glasses seems to be the ideal standard. I argue that by not acknowledging the negative emotions of being human, we are actually doing harm to our mental and physical health. It is proven that those who resist exploring their negative emotions increase their risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and many other chronic illnesses. Only by facing our feelings of injustice and expressing them in a healthy way can we truly let go of the toxicity and heal our minds and bodies. Today I explain how ignoring your negative emotions could be suppressing your digestive and reproductive systems, ways that smothering your negative emotions could be impacting your hormone levels and fight or flight response, and how to listen to what your negative emotions are trying to tell you in order to reconnect to your nervous system, plus much more. Instead of pretending your negative emotions don't exist, try taking the good feelings with the bad to find true self-acceptance. Accepting poetry as a key influencing factor to encourage learning and spiritual growth in a society can help heighten our intuition and in turn, help us to lead more fulfilling lives. By looking at the movements in our language and the soothing patterns or rhythms found in poetry, it is easy to understand why poetry can be such a powerful outlet for both positive and negative emotions. It is only through the understanding of our physiological responses to poetry, as well as the emotional and mental benefits one can get from interacting with poetry, that we can begin to integrate the coupling of poetry and prose. Get ready to learn how the brain is impacted by pain regardless of its origin, how to use top-down processing to change your perceptions, and ways to soothe yourself using your neuron processors. In addition to the science behind pain, I am also explaining how social rejection impacts the immune system, the destruction pain killers could be having on your body and relationships, and how to use self-care to stay in the good graces of those that we love.   While rejection is a very common thing in everyday life, ranging from economic issues to forming friendships and familial bonds, learning how to move on from rejection is your best tool to handle it with grace and ease. Whether you have dealt with rejection from a close loved one directly, or social rejection, there are strategies out there to help you move forward without becoming more isolated. Although we can never fully avoid rejection, by recognizing the physical pain caused by it we can take steps to heal together. Do you have a lingering memory of rejection? How has it impacted how you interact with the world? Let us know in the comments on the episode page!   In This Episode Understanding the physical-social overlap of how we process pain The main difference between pain from a physical component and social rejection Why rejection from those closest to you hurts the more than rejection from strangers Reasons developing defense mechanisms against rejection is not a good thing Using physical exercise and social interaction as a way to naturally heal   Quotes “Rejection is a component of being a social creature. But it hurts us so deeply, that it is embedded into who we are as humans.” (5:34) “Pain that has no physical cause, emotional or social pain, is just as real as pain from a broken arm, cancer, or any other physical ailment.” (8:38) “Because humans are social creatures, any definition of pain that does not include the social component is incomplete.” (9:17) “There is a reason why we experience emotional pain. On this episode, I break down the hormones and chemicals that mediate our experience of being vulnerable, the role oxytocin plays in both intimacy and feeling unsafe, and why you need to be using your vulnerability to strengthen your relationship rather than pushing it away. As a society, we play much less often than we used too. While playtime and imagination used to take up hours of a child’s day, our modern society has shifted away from play and forgotten the vital role it can play in long-term health and wellbeing. Social play as a child is essential to the ability to develop critical thinking skills, resiliency and brain plasticity, problem-solving and quick adaptation, and much more. So why has our society rejected our innate natural need to have a little more play in our lives? Today we break down the exact science behind why our brains are hardwired to play, the roles of different neurotransmitter systems in the body when reacting to play, and why play is critically important during childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. The thinking and cognitive aspects of play increase our ability to bounce back, think for ourselves and most importantly, have fun. Although the frequency and type of play we engage in changes as we age, it is no less important. It is time to stop letting our overscheduled lives take away from the joyful experience of play. Both adults and children need social interaction and playfulness to keep their brains sharp and keep their lives full, and I believe we should embrace this desire. Is a memory ever picture perfect? I argue that while letting go of things does play an important role in life, so does holding onto memories and what makes them special for our unique experiences. No two people ever experience a situation the same, which means your memories are yours alone. By recognizing that we all remember things differently, and there is no singular truth to any situation, we can better understand how memories work and their power over us. By using a combination your memory and your body's interoceptive ability you can begin to make intelligent and appropriate decisions when negatively aroused, and decide for yourself what best serves you in those moments. Focusing on the body instead of the mind to accept the flawed beauty of memories is a natural way of embracing your inner truth. How do your memories affect the way you think about yourself? Let us know in the comments.   In This Episode Focusing on the body instead of the mind and sensing your internal bodily changes How emotional arousal tends to trigger negative memories Why many arguments are a result of inconsistency in memory The difference between emotional memories and non-emotional ones What types of details are remembered and how they are remembered   Quotes “Memories have more to do with the uniqueness of you than the actual event in time” (0:49) “Memory is not perfect. Even when we retain memories from of our past, they are never exactly as we may have perceived them to be at the time. Most of us have experienced jealousy to some degree, as it is a natural human emotion that acts as an internal experience impacted by our external environment. Jealously can either harm or protect a relationship based on your behavior, so it is important to understand how it works and where it stems from in order to best deal with it and make decisions for your own life. Today I break down jealousy into three main contextual categories so you can best understand why you are feeling the way that you do, and what you can do to help solve your internal struggle. We look at physical changes that occur in the body during times of separation, which parts of the brain and hormones are responsible for triggering your aggression, and how to best listen to what your body is asking for. It is important to listen to your body and let it act as a guide for what suits you best. By being aware of your triggers and emotional boundaries, you can handle this emotion with grace and pride often not associated with jealousy, and ultimately, better health and well being. How do you feel about jealousy and how it affects you physically and emotionally? Let me know in the comments!   In This Episode The three factors that create a perfect storm for jealousy Experiencing jealousy as a mental emotion and a physiological reaction Listening to your bodily clues to help you deal with separation Specific hormones that regulate your internal association with jealousy Physiological and chemical responses to jealousy that trigger behavior   Quotes “If you're in a relationship and you care about or value certain aspects, you may end up experiencing jealousy if something or someone threatens that relationship, even if it's unintentional.” (4:06) “[Jealousy] can also protect you, it can be a way for you to reassess your relationship and see what needs to be changed” (8:04) “Some of these ugly emotions like jealousy are really your body's way and your body-mind way to protect you and keep you safe.” (10:52) “Understanding your personal history, your relationship style, your personality, and knowing your triggers can help you handle jealousy in a healthy way” (15:36)   Links Love is Medicine Blog   Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook

Our relationships can have a big impact on our overall health, well being, and the ability to generate love. This stems from our early experiences in childhood that affect your brain and body chemistry and leave lasting impacts. Science has shown that parental inconsistency can lead to long term mental health problems and reduced happiness in children, while children who are surrounded by love and potential are shown to stimulate healthy development into adulthood. Love really is medicine, and it starts with our first experiences. The experiences we have as children are part of who we are for our entire life and the way we are loved when we are young impacts our relationships for the rest of our lives. By understanding this as adults we can best make choices about how we want to raise and cultivate the next generation. How do you feel love impacted you in early childhood? Let me know in the comments.   In This Episode The primary factor to ensure continuous and healthy growth in your infant Why our early experiences create a framework for future relationships A look into epigenetics and the science of our environment and genetic expression The importance of bonding with your baby for socio-emotional development   Quotes “I'm not sure if I consciously noticed it then, but I was learning the power of being truly present as a way to express or receive love” (2:15) “Epigenetics is discovering more and more how not only our brains but also our genes are affected by the lives we live and the environment that surrounds us” (7:08) “Love is what our children need from us and what we needed from our early caregivers. This bonding shapes us into our adulthood and we are hardwired to connect intimately” (8:32)   Links Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook

Intuition is something that all of us have inside of us, a physio conscious phenomenon that is part of being human. However, with our increasingly fast-paced society, it is easy to become less in touch with your bodies internal messages. One of the best ways to increase your intuition is to get out into nature and let your body become enriched by the antioxidants given to us by the Earth. Our body and mind are intimately connected to the Earth, and the more time we spend in nature the more we can increase the coherence between our brain, heart, and gut. Exposure to green spaces can also improve functional connectivity, intuitive emotions and more. Reconnecting to nature is a beautiful and magical way that people can affect each other emotionally and physiologically, as well as increasing your internal intuition. When you are more intuitive you make better decisions in your everyday life for your health, relationships and your business, and a shoeless step into greenery is your first step. Have you noticed any changes in your intuitive sensibility by spending some more time in green spaces? Let us know what you have tried and tested in the comments.   In This Episode The importance of getting outside and reconnecting to nature How the heart and the brain are connected and constantly impacting each other Ways that nature increases your intuition and perception of the world Why being in green spaces can help with increasing your blood flow   Quotes “The way we have removed ourselves from nature is one of the reasons we have become less intuitive” (1:42) “We are no longer dying from those infectious diseases, we are dying from what I call ‘looking away diseases’. And it's from looking away from who we are in nature, looking away from how we care for ourselves” (9:31) “The heart is an access point of wisdom and intelligence that we can call upon to live with a lot more balance” (11:30) “If you want to increase your intuition one of the most important ways is to get outside and spend time in nature” (16:14)   Links Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook

The emphasis on a word, the way in which pitch can tell us a speakers mood, or the volume in which we speak, are features in which we are hardly aware of but have a significant impact on how we interact with others, and the world. Often we overlook all of the scientific, cultural, geographic and emotional meanings behind the way we choose our words and communicate our feelings. While it is common nowadays to hear the prevalence of saying ‘no’, I argue that we should be saying ‘yes’ more often. While saying no can be a preventive measure, saying yes shifts you away from that fear. Today I want to help you become more comfortable with opening yourself up to the possibilities of saying yes. I am sharing some scientific background on the power of positive thinking, how your tone, pitch, and vibration affect how you communicate, and my ‘yes’ meditation practice to help you embrace all of life's possibilities. I want you to think about what you want to say yes to as the counterbalance to what you want to say no to. By becoming aware of how our words affect our biology, physiology, and consciousness, you can harness the power of saying yes and use your voice to create the life you want.   In This Episode Realizing that every negative no is saying yes to something else Why saying yes is more life-affirming and powerfully positive How you are affected by the words you speak and the way you say them The scientific intent behind how we communicate our culture   Quotes “Saying no allows you to put yourself first, but it is so negative, and I feel like when we answer our lives in a negative way, that's supposed to be empowering, it's still really negative” (1:21) “Nearly every religious text accepts that speaking is powerfully creative” (4:52) “It's just amazing how many things are happening at once when we communicate with each other” (13:51) “Remember, it doesn't mean you can't say no, but saying no to something is saying yes to something that is even more powerful” (19:38)   Links Love is Medicine Blog Find the full show notes for this episode here Keep up with all things Love Is Medicine Follow Razi on Facebook

Essentially You: Empowering You On Your Health & Wellness Journey With Safe, Natural & Effective Solutions

What we're talking about it this episode! Recognizing the connection between healing and self-love Why our physiology and our consciousness are inseparable How disassociating from nature could be causing disease Listening to your body and tuning into your intuition What you can do to connect the dots between your food and intuition   Episode Summary: Like many of us who have become passionate about our health and wellness, Razi Berry has overcome some great illness in her life, and because of that journey has been inspired to create a powerful movement to help women get to the root cause of their health concerns. Specifically, Razi uses her unique perspective to focus in on relationships and how they are impacting the ways in which your hormones and cells communicate. With an impressive resume to back her up, Razi’s passion lies around getting to the root cause of everything and anything when it comes to your health and wellness. By focusing on your relationship to yourself, other people and the world around you, you can find better ways to connect to who you truly are. In addition to finding your self-worth and listening to your body, Razi believes in the ultimate healing power of being connected to nature. When you spend time immersed in the natural world, it is processed in every cell in your body and sends signals throughout your brain and heart to coordinate health. This can increase your body's natural intuition and ability to heal. Through connecting to the earth, you are reconnecting the neural pathways to become more aware in your environment, and your own body. Our relationships and emotions play such a big role in our health and wellbeing. It is important to cue into your intuition and listen to your gut instincts to find true self-understanding. How do you feel about Razi’s approach to relationships and hormone connection? Let us know your thoughts on the episode page!    Quotes: “Your body is constantly giving you these messages of how to love her and how to take care of her. And when we're in our head all the time, we aren't listening to these body’s signals.” (11:17) “This is all just like a beautiful symphony of energy fields. But then it has a real impact on the physical and mechanical properties inside of our cells and our organs.” (20:03) “The body is just not going to give up on you. The body is going to continue to try, your body loves you, shes designed to take care of you and she's not going to stop laying down that inflammation, she's not going to stop calling in those troops until it's just, done.” (23:28) “One of the most important things to do is really start paying attention to your sense of smell, start there. Get rid of anything in your environment that masks that.” (32:36) “When you eat and move through life in a way that honors this interoceptive and intuitive ability, its strengthens those neural pathways.” (35:26)   Resources Mentioned:   EO Hormone Summit Download Razi’s Free Gift: The Secret To Unlocking Your Intuition The Body Electric by Robert Becker Naturopathic Doctor News and Review Love is Medicine Facebook Group   Other Resources: Check out the full show notes page Keep up with everything Dr. Mariza Follow Dr. Mariza on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Youtube

Razi Berry is the Co-Founder of Naturopathic Doctor News & Review (NDNR) and Founder of NaturalPath. At 25 years old, Razi was sick and going from doctor to doctor trying to find out why. No one could help and it got so bad that she decided it was time to fire all of them and start fresh… and that’s how she found homeopathy. Razi started NDNR 14 years ago when she was fed up that there wasn’t an official journal showing case studies of how, and why, homeopathy works. On today’s show, Razi discusses the difference between a community and a movement, where she sees the wellness industry going, and why healing happens within yourself.   Key Insights & Aha Moments: *Thank you, Jessica, for your awesome review! *Razi starts her morning every day by hugging a tree in her yard. *Razi used to look at her phone every morning instead and it really set a bad tone for her. *Tree hugging isn’t some ‘woowoo’ thing. There’s actually real science behind this. *Was Razi always like this as a child? How did she get started as a homeopath? *Where does healing really come from? It doesn’t come from the doctor. *Healing happens within. *Why did Razi decide to start NDNR? *With so much information out there, people are very distrustful (and with good reason). It’s more critical than ever to understand what motivates someone into taking action. *Razi is not just creating a community, she’s creating a movement. What’s the difference between creating a community vs. creating a movement? *What’s Razi’s movement about? *Razi discusses some of her fears about Western medicine overtaking traditional/natural medicine. *Razi has a gift for you!! Whether you love Valentine's Day or not, I just want to start by saying I love all of you, my listeners. Words cannot express how happy I am to be here with another guest that I love, Razi Berry, my soul sister. Journal of Naturopathic Doctor News & Review Razi is actually a bigger fan of Naturopathic Medicine than I am. Razi Berry founded the Journal of Naturopathic Doctor News & Review. When I heard about that, I went to Dr. Megan Saunders who most of you know because of my past interview with her. Dr. Saunders apparently has heard of the Journal and affirmed it as a very well-respected Naturopathic Journal. Razi Berry says only Naturopaths are allowed to contribute to the Journal. I'll be providing the link to the journal below this blog post. She also realized that a lot of people reading it are also laymen, not doctors like you and me who want to learn more about Naturopaths. Because of this, she created another website (link is below this blogpost) with articles about Naturopathic Medicine. And because it is Valentine's Day, we're going to talk about the events that you are going to be signing up for. It's free and Razi Berry has gathered the top experts from around the world for the 8-day online event. There will be over 60 experts at The Heart Revolution.  They will teach you how to heal and empower your heart physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. That's what Natural Medicine is all about. Heart Failure at 14 Years Old "For many of us it's a journey. My journey started when I was 14 years old. I was dying in the hospital with heart failure. It was due to a complication of an eating disorder," shares Razi Berry. Razi Jerry further narrates, the culture was different back then.  She remembers the hospital staff had a disdain for my case. They made it sound like it was my fault. Hence, I had a feeling of shame. "It was so bad that my family brought in a Catholic priest to administer the last rites. Shortly after that, my mom brought in my then 4-year-old brother to say goodbye. I remember my out of body experience and the feeling of suddenly surrounded by the feeling of overwhelming love," recalls Razi. She said that although the experience was hard to describe in detail, she instantly healed. Eventually, Razi Berry left the hospital on zero medications. "I did become much more sensitive to that intuitive center of our heart. From such a young age I came to understand this concept that we call 'mind, body, medicine'. That our heart, mind, spiritual self and body really aren't separate," Berry said. From then on, Razi Berry grew up constantly searching for that experience again. Hence, she got really immersed in religion. That was just one piece of her healing journey. Razi's Diagnosis "In my mid-20s, I was a real estate agent and making good money. An then I crashed and burned. No doctor could offer any help. I even went to the Mayo Clinic," said Berry. Later on, Razi Berry eventually found out she had Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. But she refused to take some of the medicines for her illness because it was so strong. A psychiatrist was then referred to her who said her illness was just in her mind. Another one told her she should just go on disability.  That terrified Berry. Finding A Naturopathic Doctor After that, she went to a Naturopathic Doctor but it was the turning point. Berry said that doctor really took time to know everything she felt. She also said felt her doctor was really putting pieces together on what was happening to her body. "She thought of testing me for solvents. I also went through detoxification and elimination diet and eventually got better," said Berry. When I lost my parents, I felt my heart was breaking in two. My father in particular, died of heart failure. I almost was hospitalized because of the grief. It's amazing how an emotional event can stimulate this cascade of physical response to events. A Baby Is Born "Then I got married but I had 5 miscarriages in 6 years. We couldn't figure out what was wrong. I refused conventional methods to conceive. So to keep my mind on something else, I thought of coming out with the Journal of Naturopathic Doctor News & Review," said Berry. Shortly after that, she resolved to quit her old job and focus on building up her Journal.  That's when Berry finally became pregnant. Twenty months later, she was pregnant with her second daughter. I also love that Razi Berry even chose to homeschool her two daughters. I have a 22-month-old son but we don't do daycare. My husband and I basically juggle our son. We really do take our time to teach him at his level. "It just works better when you work from home. That way, I can work and then juggle it with homeschooling the kids. I don't think it's for everyone," Berry said. Shedding the Old Belief We have to shed the old belief system. Stop seeing the world in black and white. I'm not saying vaccines are bad. Rather I encourage people to see the facts surrounding Naturopathic Medicine. The Natural Path is a beautiful resource of Naturopathic Doctors. They share ways to heal and ways to prevent different diseases using principles of Naturopathic Medicine. The Heart Revolution "My journey began with my heart. Heart disease is the leading cause of death of men and women," said Berry. I can so relate to Berry's passion. I was 22 years old when I lost my mom and 28 years old when I lost my dad. My mom died in her 50's and my dad died in his early 60's. He died of a broken heart. I use that as my fuel to do what I do because I want to help people save their parents and themselves, too. Research shows that the heart transmits information to the whole body and to our brains. So when we say somebody dies of grief, broken heart or loneliness, we're not being poetic. And that is the reason for The Heart Revolution. Berry said, "There's more to heart disease than fats, oil, cholesterol and pumping blood to your body. We have doctors in The Heart Revolution who can educate you on heart disease." "If we just learn to take care of our bodies, connect with nature and really live inside our bodies, feel our emotions, that's where healings really happen," adds Berry. In her twenties, Razi Berry was suffering from fibromyalgia, fatigue, and pain. Her doctors told her that she should go on medication and disability for the rest of her life. Unwilling to accept their prognosis, Razi became her own "health detective." She began exploring alternatives and came upon naturopathic therapies that have helped restore her to full health today. She had fertility issues, hair loss, and more. Now, she enjoys good health and vitality. She is able to homeschool her two young daughters and oversee her award-winning journal, "The Naturopathic Doctor News & Review." Naturally, Razi is a proponent of organic, whole foods over fad diets. Her heart's desire is to empower people to take charge of their health and discover the vibrant health they were intended to enjoy.
