One reason the Lakers have managed to play more competitively over the last few games, including wins in four of six, is the improved play of D'Angelo Russell, who looks a lot more like the guy who was the Lakers best player not named Anthony or LeBron for the first month of the season. Russell's 29 points against Dallas on Wednesday was a reminder that whether you see him as the team's third best player, fourth best, or maybe even something after that, he's got certain skills that aren't easily replicated around the roster. He's the most likely player outside the stars to pop off for 30 points, for example. He's also the best non-LeBron organizer and facilitator on the squad. His point guard skills aren't replicated by Austin Reaves, for examples. So when he plays well, the Lakers look like a different team. When he plays well AND LeBron and AD are on? The Lakers can appear genuinely dangerous. He is, and this is just the reality of it, the most likely player on the roster to be used as trade bait. But it means the Lakers really need to consider carefully what they're getting back should they decide to make a move.Meanwhile, Darvin Ham seems to have settled on the nine guys he wants to give playing time to in a coherent rotation, with Cam Reddish and Gabe Vincent out, and Jaxson Hayes (rightly) deemed unplayable. But what will that look like when Reddish is available to play? And how does this relative health impact the guy many Lakers fans love to hate, Taurean Prince? Finally, starting tonight against Brooklyn, the Lakers have a run of winnable games between now and the February 8th trade deadline. Of the 10 between now and then, only three come against high end teams (the Clippers, Boston and New York). Having not capitalized on the bulk of their run of home games, the Lakers really, really need to make hay now, both to make up ground in the Western Conference and to settle questions ahead of the deadline.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: D'Angelo Russell, X-factor.SEGMENT 2: The rotation is set now, right?SEGMENT 3: Gotta make some waves in a good stretch of schedule.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Jase MedicalEmpower yourself when you purchase a Jase Case, providing you with a personal supply of 5 antibiotics that treat 50+ infections. The Lakers are 15-11. That's the good news. The bad? That record is only good enough for 8th in the Western Conference, and after a 1-2 trip through Texas, which included one game in Dallas against a Kyrie Irving-less Mavs team, then consecutive games in San Antonio, the Lakers now have a very difficult stretch of schedule in front of them. Four of their next five games are against teams above .500, including two against Minnesota and Oklahoma City, the top two teams in the Western Conference. The Lakers get Boston on Christmas, and have more tough games to follow. If, as Darvin Ham has suggested, the Lakers are feeling a little bit of post-IST fatigue, they need to get past it fast, because there's just no time for slumps in the West. Not for teams with aspirations of finishing in the top half of the playoff bracket. Meanwhile, did the trip through Texas reveal a shortcoming in the Lakers' rotation? Namely, do they have the sort of backup center that really fills their needs? Jaxson Hayes and Christian Wood have, by all accounts, tried to fill the roles they've been asked to fill, and some moments have looked better than others. But Wood particularly hasn't been able to hit his stride, and does seem to be struggling with his fit. There's not quite enough space to fill what has been his historic role as a scorer, and the Lakers haven't been able to make things work on the defensive side. Hayes has found a niche as a vertical threat at the basket and high energy player... but fouls so frequently it's hard to keep him on the floor. Would a more traditional rim protecting center, even one with real offensive shortcomings, give the Lakers more of what they need? Is this the type of move fans should expect, as opposed to big splashy trades? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Monday's game vs. the Knicks kicks off a rough stretch for the Lakers. SEGMENT 2: If there was ever a stretch of games to get the team dialed back in, this is it. SEGMENT 3: Do the Lakers nee a different backup C? The Lakers took one on the chin in Philadelphia on Monday, suffering one of the worst losses in team history, and the worst in LeBron's storied career. (44 points!) It was enough to have James talking about "a lot" needing to change going forward. What that means? Hard to say. Was he talking about mechanics on the court? Team culture? Coaching strategies? Just saying that literally when you lose by 44, by definition a lot has to change? The Lakers, though, have a golden opportunity to reset the narrative tonight against a terrible Detroit team, and Monday's result makes this game crucial for two reasons: With a game Thursday in OKC, the Lakers need this game to guarantee a .500 trip, and not lose the solid impact of Saturday's excellent effort in Cleveland. One really good way to amplify the concerns about deeper issues inside the team? Lose to a Pistons squad that hasn't won since before Halloween. We're not at panic territory yet. Or even close, really. But you don't want to edge anywhere near it, particularly when it comes to things that generate drama. Because lose tonight, lose tomorrow? You come home with a serious vibes problem, and folks are VERY sensitive to vibes right now. So what was LeBron asking to change? He didn't say... but we have some suggestions. One really big one? Shoot more. Move faster. Not on the break (though that would be nice) but in the half court, because the Lakers literally take the fewest amount of shots in the NBA on a nightly basis. That's not sustainable, especially when they're neither a high volume attempt or a high volume make team from 3. It's August, sure, but when reporting notes that one of the two or three best players in the NBA may—may—not be fully content with his franchise (or at the least, is going to wait and see in order to keep pressure on them). So as Marc Stein on his Substack noted, with Giannis Antetokounpo unwilling to commit (years earlier than he has to, no question) to a forever future in Milwaukee, and then noting that the Knicks and Lakers would be potential destinations?Well, there isn't much else to keep the mind from engaging with the possibilities.First, the Lakers will very likely have some space available at the superstar level when something like this occurs, because LeBron James won't play forever. Second, it's impossible not to be giddy and the mere thought of Anthony Davis and Giannis, who could play together with the right combination of people around them, working on the same team. And especially, playing defense together.Because that would be insane. And if you're interested in trade math...Meanwhile, Austin Reaves keeps Himming it up with the US World Cup squad, putting on another steller performance (and remaining a plus/minus monster) as the Americans moved to the next round after an easy win over Greece.Reaves keeps moving the bar on what people think he's capable of, and expectations for the regular season are rising. What if his top end is a little higher than anticipated? People already figured he'd give the Lakers, more or less, what he did after being inserted into the starting lineup, and through the playoffs. Austin Reaves is the only undrafted free agent playing for Team USA in the World Cup this summer. He's one of only two players (Jalen Brunson, the other) who wasn't a first round pick. But while surrounded by some of the best young talent in the NBA (including some All-Stars), Reaves is showing that he absolutely belongs. He's playing very well, providing a real spark for the US as it preps for the real tournament later this month. For Lakers fans, this isn't exactly surprising. And it's certainly not for this show's hosts, who predicted Reaves would play a significant role on Team USA, and that his coaches would love what he brings. But it's meaningful for the Lakers that Reaves, called a connector by Steve Kerr, has an ability to do just that - connect players - while still asserting himself in important ways throughout a game. That's a difficult thing to do, and something critical if your running mates in your day job are, say, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. There are some who wonder whether Reaves can carry through his final stretch of the season/playoffs over 82 regular season games when he will, once and for all, sneak up on nobody.More people are wondering if this will be a true breakout season. Which begs the question, what exactly does a breakout season for Reaves even look like? It's an interesting question for a guy who is already seen as a very productive player, and has a bit of a cult following.Meanwhile... James Harden! Ha!These are the things you can have fun with when the disgruntled star-you-don't-want isn't even slightly connected to the Lakers. NBA headlines have been occupied by the trade demands of James Harden from Philadelphia, and Damian Lillard from Portland. Tuesday, NBA headlines were occupied by journeyman guard Austin Rivers talking about those trade demands. He doesn't think they're good for the game, and are contributing to what he sees as a bad deal for players in the new CBA.So beyond the philosophical questions about whether he's right, there are implications for the Lakers in how fans, media and owners view these expressions of player empowerment. The Lakers, after all, have a long history of being central in power plays, whether in trade demands made by Lakers players (think Kobe, Shaq) or perhaps more importantly, players trying to force their way to LA (most recently, Anthony Davis). The Lakers will always be central in these conversations, as a crown jewel of the league and a very popular place to play.Meanwhile, the economics he's discussing around the NBA's middle class getting squeezed and how large contracts will get handed out in the future—has the NBA finally figured out a way to institute a hard cap in everything but name?—directly impact the Lakers. When spending is constrained to try and develop parity, big spending teams pay a penalty. Finally, we open the mailbag!Questions include: Cole Swider and the role of the two-way players this season. (Hint, of the three players the Lakers have under these contracts, Swider could be the least likely to make an impact). Second year improvements from Darvin Ham. Would the Lakers have made the Finals in 2021 if Davis didn't get hurt? On the All the Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Austin Reaves talked about his free agency, and who exactly was courting him before he eventually resigned with L.A...Not surprisingly, it was Houston and San Antonio. Neither team ended up making an offer. The Spurs held off on any big signings, instead choosing to fill in their cap space with more temporary veterans and extensions for their own guys. Houston, meanwhile, went big with Fred Van Vleet and Dillon Brooks. But while both teams might have kicked the tires on Reaves, it seems the Lakers really did scare everyone off because they knew the Lakers weren't letting him go. And with that in mind, why bother?Surely Reaves would have loved an offer sheet in that $70 or even $80 million range, and surely the Lakers would have matched. Which was the problem. It would have been interesting to see what Reaves looked like on teams like the Rockets and Spurs, who are filled with young talent, and where Reaves would have been expected to play the role of steady presence, helping elevate the guys around him. It's a role he seems suited for, but one that's harder to play without guys like LeBron James and Anthony Davis around.Meanwhile, the whole process seems to have put Reaves on a path towards being with the Lakers for a while. Which fans are certainly happy about.Next, more scouting reports! This time, new forward Taurean Prince, signed after two seasons in Minnesota. Ben Beecken, host of Locked On Wolves, joins to break down his game. Where is Prince an upgrade over the guys who were around last year? What can Lakers fans expect him to bring on both sides of the ball? Where does his game overlap with Jarred Vanderbilt, and where do the two of them differ? (Shooting and rebounding for starters.)Could Prince start? A day has passed since a weird weekend that began with Russell Westbrook splitting with long-time agent Thad Foucher (according to Foucher's statement, over a conflict about Westbrook's future with the Lakers) and ended with LeBron James dominating the Drew League after sending out a tweet that felt like possibly trolling his current teammate. Increasingly, it appears LeBron would prefer Russ become an ex-teammate, but for the time being, there's no traction on a deal for his preferred/former running mate, Kyrie Irving. If anything, it feels just as likely that LeBron and Russ could be stuck together for another season under less than ideal circumstances. Either way, it's been a brutal year for Westbrook's image, as Foucher noted while explaining his side of the story. With Brian out on vacation, Andy spoke with Silver Screen and Roll writer/podcaster Alex Regla (@alexmregla) about this mess in L.A., LeBron's possible endgame here, and Westbrook's fall from grace. Plus, his thoughts on the Lakers' Summer League team, which was fun to watch, and spotlighted the sharpshooting Cole Swider, who has fans clamoring for more than a two-way contract with the Lakers. Hosts: Andy Kamenetzky and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT ONE: Alex Regla gives his perspective on LeBron and Russ. SEGMENT TWO: How did it go so wrong so dramatically for Russ? SEGMENT THREE: Thoughts on Swider, Max Christie, Jay Huff, Scotty Pippen Jr. and more. Andy and Brian Kamenetzky bring you a daily look into the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA. The world woke up Monday to news that the relationship between Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets continued to deteriorate, and the star guard had permission to look for a sign and trade deal that would end his stay with the Nets. The Lakers, it was said, were the only team that showed interest. But Brooklyn, it was said, didn't want Russell Westbrook. So would it be a three-team deal? Four? How far would the Lakers go to simultaneously add the dynamic (if problematic) scorer and rid themselves of the Westbrook problem? Well, by 4 pm local time, it was a moot point. Kyrie announced, in the most pretentious way possible, he'll be staying with the Nets. Irving opts into the final year of his contract, and while that doesn't mean he can't be traded, it does mean he can't be part of a sign-and-trade that would bring him the contract Brooklyn seems unwilling to provide. So what does this situation say about Kyrie? The league's shifting approach to stars? The Lakers? And L.A.'s relationship to Westbrook? All of it is relevant and discussed herein. From there, it's a look at NBA free agency, which kicks off on Thursday. Specifically, The Athletic's Jovan Buha reports that Malik Monk, one of the team's few bright spots from last season, would be willing to take a little less to stay with the Lakers. Which would probably be required, were the Lakers to retain him. LA simply can't compete with what other teams can offer Monk, should they be so inclined. But even if the Lakers can give Monk their biggest available exception (a little over six million dollars) should they? Does Monk fill the greatest need in a summer where the Lakers have very few assets on hand? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Kyrie-to-LA heats up... then ends just as fast. SEGMENT 2: Why the Lakers handled this news cycle the right way, vis-a-vis Westbrook. SEGMENT 3: Should the Lakers use their taxpayer midlevel exception on Malik Monk, if that would keep him here? Wednesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski laid out more reporting around Kyrie Irving and his standoff with the Brooklyn Nets. Irving's only realistic path (at least currently) to the Lakers is one that requires him to opt out of his contract, leave over $36 million on the table, and instead sign with the Lakers for just over $6 million. No player has ever left that much money unclaimed. it's worth noting that Irving lost out on $17 million or so last season by not getting vaccinated and missing games, and also tens of millions via a lost sponsorship with Nike. So does that mean he's an unpredictable loose cannon who would do even the most unusual, unprecedented things around his finances? Or does it mean he's more incentivized to gets some of that cash back? Meanwhile, Kendrick Nunn picked up his $5.2 million option this week, no surprise since it's exactly what he said he'd do during his exit interview. For a team as strapped as the Lakers, adding Nunn back into the mix is the equivalent to getting an extra free agent signing. The guy didn't play a second last year. His presence is 100% new. So how important a role will he play? Jordan Ott has joined the Lakers coaching staff. It means Darvin Ham has added another coach with whom he's worked (Ham and Ott were in the org at the same time a few years ago in Atlanta), and who doesn't have head coaching experience. Is that a big deal? Finally, it's Draft night? What will the Lakers do? Can they buy a pick or two in the second round? How much movement should we expect from them, and other teams around the league? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: More Kyrie rumors. Would he leave tens of millions on the table? SEGMENT 2: Darvin Ham adds another name to his coaching staff. And again, it looks like the front office is giving him what he wants. SEGMENT 3: Previewing Draft night. A passive aggressive drama fuels the next 3 years of LBJ, since I think he probably will sign the extension because he wants to stay in LA, not because he wants to stay with the Lakers. After that a totally empty cupboard with maybe Austin Reaves, Wenyen Gabriel and some undrafted projects in it. If we're lucky they'll be as much fun as the Baby Lakers were.Next title maybe 2035 if they're lucky. More likely 2040. But hey a bubble championship in 2020!... Or blow it up, trade AD and LBJ for as much as you can get, let Russ play out his contract without spending assets to get rid of him and jump start the whole process. With any luck, in 3 to 5 years you're a contender again."That led to all sorts of discussion. It starts with a quick review of the way the roster performed - or didn't, more precisely - as logged by The Athletic's Jovan Buha in his Lakers Report Card. The point wasn't to parse the grades, but note how badly the Lakers missed on most of what they did, which explains the pessimism of Socrates. From there, it's LeBron talk. What happens if he's committed to Los Angeles and to staying here, even if he doesn't believe the Lakers will be able to deliver another title? Could the Lakers sell him, and the fans, on a vision that doesn't have them talking title in October? And finally, Socrates' comment about the bubble title prompted a Twitter inquiry that got A TON of response. The Lakers are in a precarious spot right now. For the time being, even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis as a foundation, they don't look particularly built to win now. But in the meantime, any future without those two seems equally problematic, and to illustrate the the latter issue, the Kamenetzkys dug into ESPN's new list of Top 25 players under 25, based on future potential (Insider account required). Seventeen of the 30 NBA teams had at one player on that list. Of the remaining 13 teams without one, another six were currently in the playoffs. And that leaves seven teams, including the Lakers, in neither category. And when you look at the company they're keeping, it'll likely give fans serious pause. Talen Horton-Tucker and Austin Reaves have shown some promise, but neither have come close to belonging on this type of list. And while the Lakers have excelled at finding young talent inside and outside of the draft, they're low on picks, and can only hit the undrafted jackpot so many times. So the first day of the rest of their lives starts today! Or at the least, the rest of the Lakers season. Thursday in El Segundo, Frank Vogel was honest about how high the Lakers could reasonably rise in the standings, and focused more on the level of play. Whatever their peak is, can it be reached by playoff time? And speaking of the playoffs, is there a real chance of advancing to the 8 spot? To the 7 seed? How real is the danger of dropping out of the top 10, entirely? The answer is in the schedule, because the Lakers will spend the next month facing teams they're chasing (like the Clippers, for example) and teams chasing them (New Orleans and San Antonio, to name two). Additionally, they play a lot on road, where they've ... not done well. So a lot of scenarios are still live! Fun!Finally, after some serious heat over the All-Star break around LeBron James and his relationship with the Lakers, Rich Paul made a point of turning down the temperature as the week has gone along. LeBron, he says, isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. What that means is anyone's guess, because one man's definition of the future is not necessarily another's.Camp LeBron is a purposeful place. The Lakers, obviously, are at a critical juncture in their season. It's getting awful close to make-or-break time, in terms of understanding just how realistic a deep playoff run is going to be. And fundamentally, that means getting Anthony Davis back on the floor. That could happen Tuesday, as the Lakers star was upgraded to probable after nearly suiting up against the Heat on Sunday. Not only does Davis make the team better on both sides of the floor based solely on his talent - for all the talk of vaguely disappointing play from him this season, it's in the context of a guy being a top 15 player instead of a top 5 - he also allows: some pressure to come off LeBron offensively slots Westbrook into a better spot (and gives Russ another large man to pass to at the rim) helps the Lakers settle into their small-ball identity for real. ...and more. Really, there's nothing that doesn't improve with Davis available. But perhaps most importantly, with nine games left before the trade deadline (assuming Davis plays Tuesday) it gives the Lakers a decent chunk of time to see what exactly they are, what the needs might be, and whether or not they're good enough to make an aggressive upgrade at the deadline worthwhile. And if the Lakers do make a move, what kind of move is available? The pieces they have to offer aren't any different - Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and a first-round pick - but perhaps the return might be? Would the Lakers have a shot at Jerami Grant? Lesser deals for a Terrance Ross-type? Would they actually pull the trigger on a trade sending Westbrook to Houston for John Wall? What if that deal expanded to include Eric Gordon, too? There's a ton to unpack with those ideas, and the process stars in this episode!HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: What Anthony Davis does for the Lakers when he returns.SEGMENT 2: Why the next nine games are critical for understanding just what the Lakers have heading into the trade deadline.SEGMENT 3: Would you trade Westbrook for Wall? Happy 2022 to everyone! First Daily Fantasy Quickie of the new year! Allow me to wish everyone a great 2022 ahead not just in fantasy basketball but in real life too! In this quickie commish and I discuss Chris Paul's seemingly "ok" season. Should we be worried that he seems to just be cruising along? The numbers have been good, but maybe we were just spoiled by CP3 for years that owners tend to look for those big numbers. If you were to choose the rest of the season, who would you rather have in your team, Donovan Mitchell or Jimmy Butler? The former is your dean's lister student who just goes to work every single day, while the other is your other dean's lister student who knows he is really good that missing a few days of work will not really get him in danger of failing exams. Not really the best analogy, I must admit, but you know what I mean. Then more Lebron James. Sheesh this guy! Forty three points in 29 minutes! Catch us in any of these podcast platforms! The Lakers have hit another big obstacle in their quest to, well, look something like the team everyone expected them to be when the season began. Anthony Davis is out at least a month. So while there are a bunch of short term questions the Lakers are facing, there are serious long term ones around Davis, as well. As in, do his problems this season shake the confidence he can be "the man" once LeBron James is ready to retire? Or reaches a point in his career where he's not capable of carrying a team? It's not that Davis is wrecked, or isn't an elite player. But the list of guys who can unquestionably be the best player on a championship team is short, and the presumption was that Davis is on it. Certainly it seemed he was there after the 2020 title. And that Davis would continue to ascend. Now, though? Not so sure. It's about health, it's about dominance. And the answer to the question has a big impact on the team's future, and how they handle the post-LeBron era.Plus...Nobody knows quite how long Frank Vogel will be out, thanks to the league's Covid-19 protocols. But for however long it is, people are going to be paying incredibly close attention to the work of David Fizdale, who is on the sidelines while Vogel is sidelined and is presumably the guy who would replace him should Vogel get fired. LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN!HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Between his vaguely disappointing play to the run of injuries, how much doubt should the Lakers and Lakers fans have in an AD-Centric future?SEGMENT 2: More on A.D.. How many guys are capable of being the unquestioned best player on a championship team? Is he one of those dudes? What happens if he's not?SEGMENT 3: Fizdale and Vogel. Vogel and Fizdale. Certainly it seemed he was there after the 2020 title. And that Davis would continue to ascend. Now, though? Not so sure. It's about health, it's about dominance. And the answer to the question has a big impact on the team's future, and how they handle the post-LeBron era. Plus... Nobody knows quite how long Frank Vogel will be out, thanks to the league's Covid-19 protocols. But for however long it is, people are going to be paying incredibly close attention to the work of David Fizdale, who is on the sidelines while Vogel is sidelined and is presumably the guy who would replace him should Vogel get fired. LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN! HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Between his vaguely disappointing play to the run of injuries, how much doubt should the Lakers and Lakers fans have in an AD-Centric future? SEGMENT 2: More on A.D.. How many guys are capable of being the unquestioned best player on a championship team? Is he one of those dudes? What happens if he's not? SEGMENT 3: Fizdale and Vogel. Vogel and Fizdale. So much scrutiny while Vogel is out... Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! But even if Locked On Lakers listeners didn't enjoy their dinner (or their families), they at least got to bask in the glow of Wednesday's strong Lakers victory over the Indiana Pacers. The 124-116 OT win capped the Lakers' roadie at 2-3, and featured some extremely interesting wrinkles. You had Anthony Davis missing the game due to the effects of the fever he fought through to play in New York, and hasn't yet shaken. You had strong supporting performances from Malik Monk and Wayne Ellington, along with 20 hard-fought points from Russell Westbrook, who didn't shoot particularly well, but got to the free throw line eleven times, hitting nine. You had the Lakers clawing back after being down for nearly the entire game. And then you had an incredible performance down the stretch from LeBron James, who scored 15 points during the last two minutes of regulation and overtime. He also spent a large chunk of the game playing small-ball center, a look that helped fuel the comeback, and unlock a strong version of the Lakers. Could this become part of the Lakers' identity moving forward? And finally, an interesting GQ interview with Dwight Howard, who talked Lakers, roses, snakes, and more!Hosts: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT ONE: LeBron's still got it, folks!SEGMENT TWO: Could LeBron at center play a role in helping a rudderless Lakers discover an identity?SEGMENT THREE: The biggest takeaways from an equally serious and quirky interview with Dwight Howard. It's that time of the year when the NBA starts leaking some games on the schedule before the official release. And because the Lakers are who they are, they'll inevitably end up among those in the mix. Thus, it's no surprise that among the three days' worth of games announced, the Lakers are included in each of them. They'll be hosting the Golden State Warriors on opening night (Oct.19), followed by the Phoenix Suns later that week (Oct. 22). And in news that should shock roughly nobody, the Christmas Day extravaganza will feature the Lakers vs. the Brooklyn Nets in what is the marquee-est of marquee matches. It is by definition too early to know much of anything meaningful, but how do the Kamenetzkys think the Lakers match up against these three very different teams, and what do they think of the games in general? From there, they discuss the report from Yahoo!'s Chris Haynes that the Lakers worked out free agent guards Isaiah Thomas, Darren Collison and Mike James. (LeBron James and Russell Westbrook even took part in Thomas' workout!) Do these three guys make sense for the roster? Are there better options who'd fill greater areas of need still on the market? Either way, according to Haynes, the Lakers' plan to potentially sign two free agents and leave the final roster spot open would likely mean deep reserve Jared Dudley likely won't return.Hosts: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: A look at the opening day game vs. Golden State. Can the Warriors regain their old form and challenge the Lakers for the Western Conference crown? (A lot will depend on Klay Thompson's health.)SEGMENT 2: We also know the exact dates of games against the Suns and Nets. How do the Lakers match up now against the 2021 Western Conference champs?
