My guest today is Sarah Henney, founder of Outback Linen Co, which is what I would call a women's fashion label with heart. Sarah only launched her label less than two years ago, but it's almost exploded in the time since. How on earth has she managed to launch her business with such a bang, and grow it so rapidly? And do it whilst raising two very young children and whilst living in rural Queensland? There are two things in particular that I want you to listen to in this interview. Firstly, the way Sarah has really built this brand around a very strong purpose and uses storytelling to connect with her audience. And secondly, her marketing strategy, and the way she creates and shares her marketing content combined with having the right campaign structures and budgets to hit her revenue targets. So she's not simply relying on having a great product, she's created a really compelling sales strategy that connects with her audience and compels them to buy. The outcome of her approach means that her revenue is scaling up rapidly at a time when many eCommerce brands are struggling. Also: Showtime! Viel Spaß mit dem Super-Rapper, viel Spaß mit RIN!

This fabulous episode is a MUST listen for you if you ever find yourself doubting what you are here to do, your purpose, your message, and your soul's calling! Join myself and my tall, gorgeous, sexy, baddass friend Ashly Rae. If you are looking for a dose of self belief, inspiration and showing you anything is possible then this one's for you!Ashly spent most of her 20s working as a model. At 27 she started her first business. In 2021 after gaining weight in a relationship and shopping for clothes to feel more confident, Ashly grew upset and frustrated. Everything was too tight and uncomfortable. It was as if high street brands only made clothes suitable for young, small sizes and forgot about the mid size millennial woman. She had the light bulb idea for her fashion brand to create clothing that makes women feel positive about their bodies. Five months later she launched her brand featuring basic wardrobe staples like blazers, bodysuits and tracksuits for women who want to feel confident and comfortable in their clothes.Ashley is SO on purpose and following her EVERY single dream. When she had the light bulb moment after years of having the idea to set up a fashion brand she finally went for it.Ashly took the lessons learned from her breakup to reevaluate her lifestyle, the people around her and her long term vision for success in business. Acting on her future self, Ashly took the bold and brave step into the unknown - and is now transforming the world of fashion to empower women. When women are shopping at elswear , sizing goes from small strong to a large limitless - just like Ashly's vision!!!!Soul Diggers, if you're looking for a sign to trust yourself and your vision, this episode is it!You have already made it because you are following your impulse and heart's calling.Screenshot this episode on your device, and tag @thesouldigger_ @kimmellor_ and @elswearuk @ashlyraeceo on Instagram.
Can I be honest? Growth is not always comfortable. In fact, it's usually not. When I started out as a coach for artists, musicians and actors, I had a lot to learn.Yes, I had already been in the arts and entertainment industry for 25 years; however, coaching is its own special skill. It took time to develop my unique process in helping artists authentically attract fans, media, and industry so that they can make a greater impact and income. But as I continue to build my business into what I've dreamt it could be, I've learned it's during my biggest challenges that I grow the most. I mean, I had a full-on growth spurt when I got clear on the personality trait of my favourite clients.Multipotentiality!I am a multi-passionate artist so it makes sense that I have a special bond with other multi-passionate artists. I love hearing that a singer-songwriter also paints and makes jewelry or an actor also writes and wants to produce their own projects.I love that I can celebrate my own multiple talents in my coaching when I can draw on my photography, makeup artistry, and fashion background one day and my publicity, journalism, and marketing experience the next.I tell you this story to get you thinking, what challenges are helping you grow?Every artist is different, but my most successful clients have the following things in common:• They are open to explore, share & overcome the fear, self-doubt & limiting beliefs that keep them in their comfort zone• They are highly motivated and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their dreams• They know that there is no overnight success, slow and consistent progress is what prepares you for opportunities. If you can relate, but feel that you are missing the strategy on how to cultivate an authentic personal brand and attract an engaged audience of fans, media, and industry.I have great news for you. You can get started on your journey right now. I have given myself the challenge to give away 30 free introductory coaching sessions in 30 days. Book your session at dianefoy.com/booking and let's explore your goals. You can do this!My guest today is Mara Girone, a hand embroidery artist, writer, podcast host, and proud owner of the fashion label Mara Girone Simple Sophistication. It is a fashion label of ‘powerful words you can wear', specializing in sustainable, hand-embroidered, and hand-painted fashion. At the age of 8, Mara fell in love with hand-embroidery and regularly returned to this artform throughout her life. She could get lost in it for hours and although at the time she recognize it as such, she had discovered a powerful and effective form of meditation. From a young age, Mara never had just one answer to the ‘what do you want to be when you grow up' question. She would say “I would like to be a writer and artist, traveling the world and meeting new and interesting people.” She was often met with comments like ‘she doesn't know, she wants to be everything and nothing". But the real answer was that she was a multi-passionate artist. Today she can say that she has fulfilled and is living her dream. She has owned a publishing house, writes articles, and is working on a book. She is an artist creating for her own fashion brand and having exhibitions locally and internationally. Mara is also a podcast host for which she has the privilege to meet interesting and inspiring people every day. And by the way, she has lived in several countries and continents!I know that you will enjoy listening to our conversation. For links and a transcript visit dianefoy.com/079
This week we are joined by Larissa Muehleder, founder of New York womenswear label Muehleder. Her empowering contemporary pieces are sculpted out of Neoprene, a fabric she takes pride in being comfortable, flexible, and more importantly, that her customers can wear and still eat a burger in! Born into a Nigerian and Austrian lineage, Larissa moved around a lot as a child; from Germany to Paris, and briefly Senegal before finally settling down in Brooklyn, New York. The adventures shaped her resilient and “go with the flow” attitude, which soon led her to the High School of Fashion Industries at the young age of 16. Her love for fashion design further inspired her to study Business and Fashion Marketing and Merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology. It was from here, along with her mother's strong entrepreneurial influence, she began to adapt to the challenges of owning a fashion business and maintaining its values. Muehleder label, and notably, Larissa's designs have come a long way since; dressing major celebrity clients including Cardi-B, Zendaya, and Ashley Tisdale, to name a few. In this episode, we talk about the hustle and grind of crafting and selling a fashion label. This isn't always an easy task as Larissa explains her own personal experiences of pitching from boutique to boutique in the center of New York, but also the learning curve and success that came from it. She also touches on her overwhelming love for her clients, and how building a relationship and listening to your customers, as well as being truly authentic, is essential for running a successful fashion business.
