Is there anything better than listening to your favourite band while sitting outside in the sun with friends, family, and fellow music-lovers? Very few experiences can top the feeling you get from soaking up fresh air and soundwaves simultaneously. So, as summer approaches, we bring you "Festival Season" - a special 3-part series on music festivals.Music festivals appear to pop up out of nowhere - in a city park, in the green space beside a lake, or on a farm next to a river. All of a sudden, a field becomes a dance floor for a main stage; or a leafy forest grove transforms into an intimate music workshop. It seems instantaneous, but a festival takes months—and sometimes years—to plan and produce. Staff and volunteers work tirelessly to bring music fans the most entertaining, uplifting, safe, and memorable experience possible. In this series, we talk to a few of the wonderful people that work around the clock to bring us these magical events.Part 3 - KEVIN GOODMAN: Tall Pines Music & Arts Festival As the CEO of Front Row Centre Music & Entertainment Marketing, Kevin Goodman brings passion, enthusiasm and a boat load of experience to his current endeavours in the music world. He has a talent for facilitating the connections that allow the dream to become a reality, creating an unforgettable summer festival experience for musicians and fans alike. 15 bands, live art, food trucks, local vendors, kids' zone, beachfront, canoeing, and much more: that's what you'll find at the Tall Pines Music Festival, July 19 & 20 in Gull Lake Park, Muskoka. On this episode we're talking to Cristina & Liz, owners and hosts behind Camp Tall Pines in Shapleigh, Maine. With a background in real estate (and running a boutique eco-friendly hotel long before AirBNB made short term rentals popular), and a love for Maine, these two are the perfect ones to share their experiences on the podcast. Even if their 'cabin' is technically an old one-room schoolhouse. But it has a wood stove, is surrounded by forest, and located in the most cabin friendly state in the United States (according to me), so I absolutely loved this conversation and think you will too :) Instagram@camptallpines@cozyrockcabin@cozycabinboone@cozycampsebecAirBNB ListingsCamp Tall Pines: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/931077859736266036Cozy Rock Cabin: https://airbnb.com/h/cozyrockcabinCozy Cabin Boone: https://airbnb.com/h/cozycabinbooneCozy Camp Sebec: https://airbnb.com/h/cozycampsebecCozy Rock Website: https://www.staycozycabin.comBook a Cabin Consultation Here: https://www.staycozycabin.comYouTube Channel: / @cozyrockcabin1664Keywords: AirBNB, AirBNB host, AirBNB super host, short term rental, vacation rental, VRBO, VRBO host, STR, real estate, realtor, real estate investing, real estate portfolio

Tonight's guest, Kai, used to be an avid coon hunter, but a Dogman encounter she had while coon hunting when she was 12, changed all of that. Back when she was 12, she snuck out of her house one night, to go coon hunting with her 3 best friends. Not long after midnight, after hunting at a location called Tall Pines that they had been to many times before, they decided to go hunting deeper into that woods than they had ever been before. Unfortunately, that was a decision they'd soon come to regret. After working their way about 4 miles into that woods, they came to a draw. Right before Kai and her friends got to the edge of the draw, the 2, big, walker hounds they were hunting with, Amos and Russ, ran excitedly down into the draw. Kai and her friends thought they were hot on the trail of a coon. After the dogs disappeared over the edge of the draw, everything went dead silent. About 20 seconds after that, the dogs tore out of the draw, screaming and crying, and blew past Kai, like their tails were on fire! They were heading at top speed in the direction of the truck. That stunned Kai and her friends because Amos and Russ had a reputation for not being afraid of anything, including bears, which they had treed numerous times before. Unfortunately, about 5 seconds after the dogs came tearing out of the draw, it became clear why they were acting the way they were. Kai watched in horror as an 8-foot tall, 4-foot wide, Dogman came up out of the draw and then squared up with them. It growled with so much force, Kai says she could feel her insides rattle. The next thing Kai knew, she had been knocked to the ground and was laying there, all alone, with the Dogman. Her friends had already taken off, running for the truck and left her there, to fend for herself. Kai watched in horror as the Dogman shifted its gaze from her absconding friends to her. So there she was, laying on the ground, all alone, with this 8-foot tall Dogman staring at her; all the while knowing that the truck was 4 miles away.Kai's 1st encounter was obviously a bad one, but she says the 3rd encounter she had, years later, was even more frightening. We hope you'll tune in and listen to her share the details of her encounters. If you do, you'll probably understand why she's had so much trouble dealing with them, over the years. If you'd like to check out my new Bigfoot show, called My Bigfoot Sighting, here's a link to the My Bigfoot Sighting YouTube Channel…. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_v5B0Q81aLiatYVABOEZWw/videosTo find out how to listen to Dogman Encounters commercial-free, please visit https://DogmanEncounters.com/PodcastIf you'd like to help support the show, by buying your own Dogman Encounters t-shirt, sweatshirt, tank top, or coffee mug, please visit the Dogman Encounters Show Store, by going to https://Dogman-Encounters.MyShopify.comIf you've had a Dogman encounter and would like to speak with me about it, whether you'd like to keep your encounter confidential or be interviewed on a show, please go to https://DogmanEncounters.com and submit a report. If you've had a Sasquatch sighting and would like to be a guest on Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio, please go to https://BigfootEyewitness.com and submit a report. Thanks for listening!

Today’s podcast has three interviews from the 2018 Backcountry Trails Program debriefing. They were recorded on location in September, 2018 at Camp Mather, just outside of Yosemite National Park. The Corpsmembers interviewed are: George Godfrey: Inyo crew. Interview starts at the 4:00-minute mark. George managed a Humboldt County bagel shop before she joined the Backcountry program through AmeriCorps. George’s crew got involved in some serious mountain trail work in Inyo National Forest. Listen to George describe the fall protection...like ropes...the crew needed to use to safely work on some of their switchbacks. Adam Garcia: Klamath/Stanislaus crew. Interview starts at the 11:00-minute mark. Adam came to the Backcountry Program after working trails for the Conservation Corps New Mexico. The Backcountry was a little different experience, and Adam tells us the hazards that the lack of indoor plumbing can bring. Eric Rasmussen: Shasta-Trinity crew. Interview starts at the 18:25-minute mark. A CCC Corpsmember at the Fortuna Center before the Backcountry, Eric got to see some high mountain lakes and climb Thompson Peak and Caesar Cap Peak--the two highest peaks in the Trinity Alps. (Note: the link goes to somebody else’s story of Thompson Peak and Caesar Cap, but it includes some great photos of things that Eric would have seen on that trip.) Between-the-interview topics in this podcast are: Safety: importance of safety to the CCC program; “If it’s predictable, it’s preventable;” job hazard analysis The multitude of service corps opportunities around the United States. These are just a few: Montana Conservation Corps, Wyoming Conservation Corps, Texas Conservation Corps, New Hampshire Conservation Corps, The Trail Corps This episode also has a teaser for an upcoming episode on the Tehama Fire Center. Script Hi and welcome to Alternative Airwaves - I'm your host Steve, bringing you the best in Creative Commons music. This is the Weekly Airwave: one track with some information about the song or the artist. This week's track: Wild by The Rabbits. Wild is a quiet folk track from "Tall Pines and Tangled Vines", a 2018 debut LP by The Rabbits. The Rabbits hail from the UK, but are listed as Canadian on Jamendo - probably because they recorded their record at Orchid Studios in Vancouver, B-C - and they are also touring around Canada. Apparently they're doing this from a van they've been living in for almost a year. That's dedication to their music!
