I see dead podcasts - Dave takes 1999's The Sixth Sense off the shelf this week as he decides it has been too long since we've visited two favorites; M. Night and Bruce Willis. Dave relishes the chance to watch one of Bruce's movies he has seen the least though remembers fondly. He find the fact that this is M. Night's "first" movie to be impressive and is blown away by Toni Colette performance. Phil remembers too well that he hated this movie upon release as he was one step ahead of the movie pretty early on and just couldn't get caught up in the drama that was unfolding. Leaving the "twist" to be less than successful. He also remember this to be the downfall of his appreciation of Bruce as he did not connect to his performance. However, Phil enjoyed it more than he thought he would even if it still rings a little hollow.

Costume Designer, JENNIFER STARZYK is a creative collaborator with over twenty five years in the film industry. She takes a character-driven approach with her own unique vision to serve the story and support the script. Her versatile yet distinct style has been showcased across a variety of genres and periods. Perhaps best known for the Netflix psychological series, Mindhunter. where Jennifer worked closely to create a restrained period look with renowned director David Fincher. Her range varies in tone as seen in Warner Bros Neo-Noir Reminiscence starring Hugh Jackman & Rebecca Ferguson; to the outlandish colorful contemporary in Bill & Ted Face The Music; to allowing documentary footage inform how Colin Firth and Toni Colette should look in aughts fashion for Max's The Staircase. Jennifer's latest work was A24 biopic, The Iron Claw, written and directed by Sean Durkin. The Iron Claw stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson and Hold McCallany and is a tragic film that tells the story of the Von Erich's. Spanning from late 1970s- 1990s, her costumes showcase the dynasty of wrestlers and help create the world of rural Texas. Jennifer's elaborate ring robes were included on display at the 2024 ASU FIDM Art of Costume Design in Film. Upcoming work includes Amazon's Killer Heat, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt, Shailene Woodley and Richard Madden. This contemporary mystery was filmed on location in Greece and follows twin brothers who find themselves in a dangerous love triangle on an isolated island. The contemporary costumes highlight quiet luxury and showcase several Greek fashion brands for added authenticity. During the WGA & SAG strikes, Jennifer lent her energy and talent to help costume The Groundlings charity fundraiser, One Night Only. Having just days to outfit 35 performers for The Chorus Line. The musical featured Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig, Will Forte, Ana Gasteyer amongst other incredible talent and helped raise over $200,000 for Motion Picture & Television Fund. All proceeds went to below the line affected by the strikes. Currently, she is designing a contemporary action comedy for Twentieth Century Fox titled, Eenie Meanie. Written and directed by Shawn Simmons. The film stars Samara Weaving as a reformed teenage getaway driver who is dragged back into her unsavory past when a former employer offers her a chance to save the life of her chronically unreliable ex-boyfriend. No matter the project, Jennifer Starzyk brings the same fierce spirit and powerful approach to designing costumes.

I've had some incredible talent that I've been very lucky to have been sort of collaborating with, and they'll often bring their own rhythm and their own style, and sometimes their own words to the role. So it's a collaboration, especially when you've got talent, as you mentioned, Rebel Wilson. She's so specific in the way that she does her comedy and the way she plays her role.

There's no wrong way to grieve, but there certainly is an unhealthy way. Say… calling on the power of demons/unknown cosmic forces to bring the dead back to life only to have them go on a murder spree. That's pretty unhealthy, don't you think? The Cadaver Dogs take a trip to the afterlife in this episode as they walk through the many examples of grief in two horror film staples. First up is the original Ari Aster movie HEREDITARY (starring Toni Colette, Gabriel Byrne, Milly Shapiro, Alex Wolff, and indie film bae Ann Dowd.) We tackle the origins of the demon Paimon, voyeurism through filmmaking, misconceived spiritualism, and the concept of tragedy. Then, we take a not so big leap to Mary Lambert's PET SEMETARY (1989) adapted from Stephen King's novel. The dogs offer a fresh perspective on industrialism, gender representation of yore, Native American burial ground tropes, and just how much parents royally f*** up. When it comes to shooting films, they say never work with children or animals - but what about filming an entire feature around the life of one impressive horse? On Friday 28th May, WFT Board Member Fiona Kinsella was in conversation with fellow producer Tracy O'Riordan about her film Dream Horse. Based on a true story, this warm, wonderful feature, which features Toni Colette and Damien Lewis, is released in Irish cinemas on the 7th June. Tracy O'Riordan Bio Tracy set up Moonspun Films in 2008. Most recently she produced filmmaker Clio Barnard's fourth feature Ali & Ava, a love story starring Claire Rushbrook and Adeel Akhtar. In 2018 O'Riordan produced Monsoon, the second feature from Hong Khaou (Lilting), which was shot entirely on location in Vietnam and starred Henry Golding of Crazy Rich Asians. O'Riordan worked as a drama development executive and story editor before moving into physical production in 2002, when most notably she worked on the multi-award-winning feature The Queen, directed by Stephen Frears. Following this O'Riordan worked as a production executive overseeing a slate of micro-budget feature films as part of Liverpool: European Capital of Culture 2008, which included the acclaimed Of Time and the City, directed by Terence Davies. In 2010 O'Riordan produced The Arbor, directed by Clio Barnard, which won several national and international awards and was nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut. In 2012 she produced The Selfish Giant, Barnard's second feature, which was selected for the Directors' Fortnight at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for a BAFTA (Outstanding British Film). In 2016 O'Riordan produced Barnard's third feature Dark River, which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (Platform Prize: Honorable Mention) and the London Film Festival in 2017. About Dream Horse The film tells the inspiring true story of Dream Alliance, an unlikely racehorse bred by small-town bartender Jan Vokes. With very little money and no experience, Jan convinces her neighbours to chip in their meager earnings to help raise Dream and compete with the racing elites. Their investment pays off as Dream rises through the ranks and becomes a beacon of hope in their struggling community.
