If you've been snowed in thanks to last week's winter storm, you're not alone. The entire parking lot of our Video Store is covered with three feet of snow. I've been stuck here for three days, living off of popcorn, Hot Tamales candy, and Red Bull. You and I are not the only ones completely snowed in — so were the characters in these films. I say “were” because not everyone makes it to the end of their respective films. In fact, almost no one does. Warm up the cocoa, turn on the fireplace, and enjoy these four films in which people got snowed in.Snowbeast (1977)The Colorado ski resort in this film has everything guests could ever want, and one thing they don't want: a murderous Yeti. With a plot that closely mirrors Jaws, guests and locals do their best to warn others of the two-legged beast while the owners of the resort do their best to downplay the danger. Once the bodies start piling up there's nothing left to do but to track down the Snowbeast… before it tracks them down! Sure, this is basically Jaws with a killer Yeti instead of a killer shark, which is exactly why I love it.Screams of a Winter Night (1979)If you're a sucker for horror anthology films, this one's a slow 70s burn with more atmosphere than blood. When a group of young adults become snowed in while staying in a winter cabin, they exchange stories — three, to be exact — in an attempt to entertain (and more importantly, scare) their friends. It's all fun and games until the Native American spirit known as Shataba arrives at the cabin. This deep cut is worth a watch for fans of anthology films and brooding 70s horror.Terror Train (1980)It's New Year's Eve and a group of college graduates are throwing a costume party on a train. Everyone's there — the graduates, David Copperfield (no, really), and Kenny, a former classmate whom the group pranked years ago, leaving him in an apparently bad state of mind. Fresh out of Halloween, it's up to Jamie Lee Curtis, her friends, the train's conductor and yes, David Copperfield, to put an end to Kenny's rage-filled rampage. But which costume is Kenny wearing? Only his victims know for sure. Come for the magic show, stay to see the audience disappear one by one.Iced (1989)If we've learned anything from 1980s slasher films it's to politely decline anonymous invitations to stay at a cabin or resort for free. The characters of Iced learn that lesson the hard way. Four years after the group's friend Jeff skied over the side of a cliff after being humiliated by his friends, the group find receive anonymous invitations to stay at the Snow Peak ski resort. Once they arrive it seems Jeff may be there too, based on the number of bodies that begin piling up. Featuring all the classic misdirection and creative deaths we came to expect from an 80s slasher film.The snow is starting to melt in the parking lot. This was recorded on brisk winter night on the high tide line at Mattole Beach on the Lost Coast in Humboldt County, California. The night began overcast, but the clouds slowly gave way to the starry sky, and it was completely clear by the time the first signs of morning twilight appeared in the east. The offshore wind was light, and it carried with it a bit of extra chill as it made its way down the Mattole River, across the beach, and out over the ocean. The waves picked up a bit through the night, and by morning there was good surf for those willing to brave the cold and sharky water.This recording starts at around 10pm and ends a little after 7am, about half an hour before sunrise.

If you are in Destiny 2 and Just_Wargus online feel free to reach out for a hand with anything. ARK – got a pretty dedicated group in there right now WoW Resting up for prepatch of Midnight. Housing is going well. Remix winding down. Noob Raid started up again after its holiday break. A new addon, XFaction for cross guild communication is working well. The last days of Legion Remix are upon us. We are in the final 7 days, so get those last minute runs done now. There is still transmog gear to grind, pets, mounts, and exclusive legion remix only housing items to grab before they are gone. If you ever wanted those legion artifact appearances, this is it. SWTOR In SWTOR, we closed out 2025 with our Winter Nights celebration which was 4 evenings of guild activities including a tour of World Bosses where we took a piece of armor off after each successive fight, stronghold tours, dressing up in our Life Day finest, a clothing drive on the starter planets, a parade of Life Day mounts, and a cracking good trivia night. Great way to spend the last gaming week of 2025. On to 2026! Next week is Total Galactic War! Again! This time we are ready for it. Mostly. We will be maximizing conquest points this week by doing group activities, crafting, and class stories. GSF and pvp are also good ways to rack up the points, if you are so inclined. Keep an eye on discord for any last minute group stuff that may pop up. ESO Nothing new really. It's been quiet due to the holidays. FFXIV Just had a new patch and things are going well. New MSQ, Savage raid tier is open and the world first race is already over. New trial with a train, new Unreal trial with everyone's favorite lady to hate and feel sorry for, Tsukuyomi’s Pain. The cosmic crafter and gatherer area has new updates, and crafters have pink heart themed items to make new. Hildebrand has more story, and the Air Force One GATE has a new place to fly around and pew pew.. The Strategy Board is live, and everyone is clearly using it for helpful raid explanations and mechanics demonstrations. Totally. Free login campaign has started. Up to 96 hours from when you start it. Ends February 9th. STO KDF fleet has made some big strides with the fleet holdings. The Starbase will complete the Tier IV shipyard in just about a week. Which means after that we can start tossing resources in for a tier IV Starbase. Also the Research lab is closing in on Tier III. What all this means is more fleet ships will be accessible. And once the research lab hits Tier III, the purchasable trait slots will be available. Fleet Action Report has been doing playthroughs of the missions showcasing accolades and recruit special tasks, while letting you know what rewards could be handy for your ships or on ground. We will be completing the final mission of the Iconian War arc this week. Which you can catch us live recording the episode Thursday 10pm eastern. Fun nights are Monday 10pm eastern. Here we are at the end of Dragons of Winter Night and Season 2 of the podcast. In these chapters the Knights of Solamnia hold off the dragon armies for a day, Sturm sacrifices his life to save the lives of those he loves. Tanis and Kitiara get close, real close, and catch up. Kitiara spills the beans on Takhisis' goals and urges Tanis to join her in fulfilling them. Tanis disappoints everyone with his decision. Meanwhile, Sturm's elevation to full knighthood drives Derek Crownguard insane and completely shatters whatever semblance of unity the Knights of Solamnia at the High Clerist's Tower had. This makes an already bad situation worse as the Knights aren't really wanted by anyone in Palanthas. Laurana has brought the dragonlances to the Knights but most of the soldiers and knights don't think they'll be of any use, as they're badly outnumbered and low on food.
