Ad astra Travelers! Welcome to another episode of Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. This week, we set sail to Inazuma to discuss Guuji Yae Miko! After a quick check-in after last week's unfortunate schedule change, and a confirmation that our hosts were not killed by a certain Kitsune or Doctor, we discuss our initial thoughts on Yae Miko. From her cunning abilities to her sly tone, our hosts were in a trance and scared of her abilities and antics. Afterwards, we discuss her part in the Inazuma Archon Quest, Squid Games, and all, and do a brief overview of her story quest. Later, our hosts debate Yae's age, whether she can see the future, and if she's a hero or villain in the game. What do Yae's dreams taste like? What does she think of her puppet stepson Scaramouche? Will she ever let Gorou know about Ms. Hina? In this week's episode Patrick and Greg have some serious fun with song lyrics they misunderstood at some point in their personal lives. They then use this as a thinly veiled excuse to explore some very basic statistical things that they have also misunderstood at some point in their professional lives. Along the way they discuss over-engineered front ends, mumbling, Scaramouche, mondegreens, Tony Danza, Bingo Jed, word salad, containers, sitting next to Kurt Cobain, kicking cats, tiddles, ears ringing, the Dunder Chief, wrinkles in the space time continuum, naked or not, missing data bouncer, colite gas, and dying on the dance floor. Ad Astra Travelers and welcome to Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. This week our hosts are discussing one of the most anticipated characters in Teyvat, the new Knave, Arlecchino. Our hosts start by remembering our initial introduction to Arlecchino in Hoyo's video A Winter Night's Lazzo and what we could expect after talking to her co-workers Childe and Scaramouche. After, we discuss Arlcecchino's first appearance in Fontaine and how she participated in the Fontaine Archon Quest. Later, our hosts take a deep dive into her Khaenri'ahn roots and affiliation with the Crimson Moon Dynasty. As part of her history, we'll jump into a book club discussion led by Pierro as we review the contents of Perinheri. Was Perinheri cursed by Ronova? Is Ronova the same person as Angelica? Or is Angelica just another Schuyler sister? Afterwards, our hosts review her journey to taking over the House of the Hearth, relationship with the Fontaine sibling trio and how she was able to finally say goodbye to Clervie. This is Bucket List Travel, a special series within the podcast Dr. Mary Travelbest Guide. This is Carolyn Ray, CEO and editor of JourneyWoman, a women's solo travel publication based in Toronto. I'm going to share some tips and advice about my hometown with you. I'm actually a sixth-generation Torontonian, and my daughter is a seventh-generation Torontonian. So this is my hometown, and I can tell you, if you're looking for an exciting, vibrant city, Toronto is it. We are, you might be surprised, the fourth largest city in North America, and very easy to get to from just about anywhere in the world. Toronto is a great getaway for those living in Canada and a steal for women coming from other countries because of our Canadian dollar. So you'll find a lot of value coming here for your money, I want to share with you a bit about how to get to Toronto, which may surprise you. Of course, you may know about Toronto Pearson Airport, our international airport, but we also have a smaller island airport called the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which is right downtown. So if you can get a flight into Toronto Island, that's much easier. But if you are flying into Toronto, Pearson, we have a wonderful train called the UP Express, which will get you downtown in about 25 minutes. If you are arriving at Union Station, you can get right on our subway system, the TTC, the Toronto Transit Commission. And it's very, very easy to get around on the TTC. It's a U-shaped route that goes north, just kind of starts at Union Station, and goes up both ways. And then there's an east, west route across the city at Bloor Street, which is B, L, O, O, R, we're building some more subways. You'll notice that when you're in town, and because of that, I just want to speak to a little bit about safety on the subways. Toronto is a very large city, and I just want to encourage you to be very aware. I know everyone thinks Canadians are very nice, but I also just want to remind you to be very self-aware when you're on the subways and on public transit. For things to do in Toronto, my number one experience would be to go to Toronto Island. It's very easy to get there on a ferry, and you can take a ferry over for the day. You can ride a bike, enjoy the beaches, or even get on a boat. If you are looking for a place to stay, there are many different kinds of hotels in Toronto, but I will say one of my favorites is the Fairmont Royal York, which is right across from Union Station. But I also like some of our boutique hotels, the Gladstone, the Drake, the Broadview Hotel. These are very lovely, locally owned hotels, creative, artsy, with really great rooftop restaurants and great views. I'll end with some tips on places to eat that you may not know about. I really love Spanish food, so I wanted to recommend Madrina y tapas and Patria. Patria is on King West, which is a very popular place to go for bars and restaurants. The Distillery District is one of our historic areas in Toronto, it's a wonderful place to walk around and spend the day. And Madrina y tapas is one of my favorite restaurants there. There's also Yorkville, which is on at Bloor and Yonge Street. Kasa Moto is a Japanese restaurant that I would suggest there. And a secret you may not have heard of, this one is called Scaramouche, and it's a little bit farther north, but you can get wonderful views of the entire city. It's actually in a condominium, and you can see all of Toronto at night. It's lovely. And for those of us who like vegetarian food, it's Planta. There are two Planta locations in Toronto, maybe more now, great vegetarian menu. And of course, I must mention the St Lawrence Market, which has all, you know, all of the fresh food you could ever want. But also in the basement Manotas, which is a Spanish takeaway restaurant, and then also Busters, which is at the back of the St Lawrence Market, where you can get some wonderful seafood. Whatever you're doing in Toronto, I hope you have a great time. There's so much to do. There's so much to see, and I look forward to seeing you there. And if there's more information need about Toronto, please visit JourneyWoman.com. We've got lots of articles about the city. Thank you, Carolyn Ray and Journey Woman for this excellent episode. The complete audiobook is available for purchase at Audible.com: www.audible.com.au/pd/Scaramouche-Audiobook/B0D8JWQ6LS Scaramouche By Rafael Sabatini Narrated by Cate Barratt, Simon Paxton, Amy Soakes, Johnathan Welsh, Robin Siegerman, David Stifel, David Shears, John Burlinson, Marty Krz, Russell Gold, Aisling Gray, Kendra Murray, Melissa Green Audio editing by Susan Iannucci Romance and the French Revolution! Politics and love! Scaramouche, published in 1921, explores age-old tensions that continue into the present. “He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad … “So begins this historical tale of romantic adventure. Andre-Louis Moreau is an orphan and cousin of the beloved Aline. He is raised by his godfather, the Lord of Gavrillac, and matures into an educated lawyer—while Aline sets her mind on marrying the rich but dishonorable Marquis de la Tour d'Azyr. But when Moreau's closest friend is killed by the Marquis in a duel, Moreau vows vengeance. After publicly denouncing the aristocracy and stirring up the crowds, Moreau is forced to go into hiding. He joins a troupe of traveling actors and begins playing ‘Scaramouche', the buffoon. When his identity is revealed, he hides out in Paris, becoming Master of a Parisian Fencing Academy and then a dueling politician. In the tumult of the French Revolution, Moreau and Aline are drawn together again. But the secrets of the past threaten to break apart their present and future. Scaramouche is Sabatini's reasoned and passionate argument for representative government against the agendas of elitist governments of royalty and privilege.

Ad Astra travelers! Welcome back to Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. This week, we're going back into Enkanomiya to look at the unfortunate history of the Sunchildren. Our hosts start with a quick refresher on the early history of Enkanomiya, like how it sank into the sea, fought off the Vishaps, and started worshipping a giant light bulb. After we introduce the holiest lightbulb of them all, our hosts explain who the sunchildren were and how they met their untimely end. We'll see lots of child rulers and child sacrifice, but unfortunately no Childe. Alexandra Evans joins us this week for an in person interview. Alex started her hospitality career over four decades ago in her teenage years working at a French café a few blocks from where she grew up in midtown Toronto. A few years later, Alex lied her way into a waitressing job at Toby's Goodeats - very popular burger chain in Toronto in the 1980's. Alex loved the late nights and fast cash and fast cameraderie that comes with working in the industry. Alex moved into Management at Toby's and in the early 90's joined the team at O'Tooles on Carlton St across from Maple Leaf Gardens and stayed for 3 years. Alex eventually moved on to work at a French bistro - Le Paradis - for over 12 years, then soon after got bitten by the wine bug. Alex started a wine class in 1999 that morphed into a Sommelier diploma by 2004. That diploma opened the door to a management job at Boba restaurant on Avenue Road then Celestin on Mount Pleasant. That in turn opened a bigger door to Scaramouche restaurant where she stayed for 10 years as Maitre d', Sommelier and server. Eventually, Alex retired from serving in 2019. Alex and her partner moved to Stratford Ontario in the summer of 2021 and started teaching wine and service at the Stratford Chefs School where she enjoys passing the torch to the younger generation. In March of 2022 Alex started working for Nicholas Pearce Wines as their sales representative for South West Ontario where she gets to interact and keep her foot in the door of the hospitality industry and be in bed by 10pm….. SynopsisOn today's date in 1937, a two-piano suite by the French composer Darius Milhaud had its premiere. It was entitled “Scaramouche,” after a stock character in the Italian commedia dell arte, and the music's upbeat, carefree mood made it an instant hit. For his part, Milhaud was in an apprehensive mood. When he and his wife Madeleine had visited the 1937 Paris International Exposition, they saw premonitions of war reflected in many of its exhibits.“Picasso's ‘Guernica' adorned the walls of the Spanish pavilion,” recalled Milhaud, “but the Spanish Republic had been murdered. Placed face to face, the German and the Soviet pavilions seemed to challenge each other to mortal combat. One evening, as we watched the sun set behind the flags of all nations, Madeleine clutched my arm in anguish and whispered, ‘This is the end of Europe!'”In 1940, Milhaud was forced to leave France when the Germans occupied Paris. As a Jew, his music was promptly banned. But in 1943, two French pianists performed “Scaramouche” in concert, tricking the German censors by listing its composer's name as “Hamid-al-Usurid”—a fictitious Arabic composer whose name just happens to be an anagram of “Darius Milhaud.” Music Played in Today's ProgramDarius Milhaud (1892 - 1974) Scaramouche Anthony and Joseph Paratore, pianos Four Winds 3014

Arrogance is a fun subject. Related to cockiness, hubris, assertiveness, self confidence and pride. It's a fantastic trait for a villain and it's really fun to write. Heroes are often arrogant too when they need to learn a lesson in order to become a better person, it's super common in stories. We're all a bit arrogant ourselves about our skills, our knowledge, where we come from, what we look like etc. It's a universal trait! It often strikes when we think we know better or know it all on a subject: the human tendency to over-reach and to speak for others. The famous Dunning-Kruger effect is a type of arrogance: basically, when you know a little about a subject you tend to imagine you know a LOT more about it that you do. Whereas when you know a lot about a subject you know enough to know that you also know that there's so much more that you DON'T know. Beginners think they know much more than they do and experts tend to know more than they realise. But people mistakenly think that Dunning-Kruger only affects stupid people, when in reality it affects everyone all the time. No matter how clever you are there are a million things you are not an expert in and can never be, and you will overestimate your knowledge without even knowing it. I'm doing that right now with Dunning-Kruger :) A good word for these people comes from Greece: Sophomore. In English it means a beginner, but in Greek it means “wise fool”; a person who knows just enough to think they're wise on a subject but not enough to know the limitations of their knowledge. So who are your fave arrogant characters? Rick from Rick and Morty is surely one. He can back up his arrogance with actual knowledge and skill though, which just makes him an a***hole. Scaramouche from the Commedia Dell'arte is a famous example, so is Blackadder who's some what based on him. One of my favourite arrogant characters was also from Blackadder; Lord Flashheart and also Captain Flashheart (both played by Rick Mayall). They're hilarious in their overblown image of themselves. Arrogance can add charm and comedy to a character or it can make them insufferable and repellent. Do you like arrogant characters? What about arrogant people? This week Gunwallace has given us the theme to Kirth Space Bounty Hunter - Almost sounding like a space-age version of traditional Chinese music, this is a fascinating piece. It's upbeat and yet slightly mournful and quite evocative. All in all a joy to listen to. Ad Astra Travelers! Welcome back to another episode of Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast. In our last episode we journeyed through the start of the Sumeru Archon quest, learning all about the new characters, lore, and plot. We'll talk more about this in a later episode this season when we discuss Scaramouche! This week, we're going to be talking about The Viridescent Venerer. To most, this may seem like an Anemo artifact and nothing more, but a deeper look proves that The Viridescent Venerer (AKA Viri) is an important character in history and could even be a Fatui Harbinger. We'll discuss her origins, possible relations to La Signora and Il Capitano, and learn more about the history defying skills of Irminsul. Viri may be more important then anyone knows, as her history spans across multiple artifact sets including the Bloodstained Knight, Crimson Witch and Deepwood Memories. Come hang out with Viri and us to learn more! Visit talesofteyvat.com to find a comprehensive lore sheet that provides visual aids and links to videos and important Genshin Impact Resources. In an effort to get into the festive spirit, we will be releasing a series of holiday themed podfics in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas! For episode 18.3, Tabby reads "'Tis the Damn Season" by zanni_scaramouche. The door will open and he'll smile wide and genuine at the people who raised him, his teary-eyed mother and rosey-face step-father. He won't think about the cabin in the woods again until next December.

That's right, babe, the Cartoncast has taken a trip back, back to the Future that is Aku. Jacky baby is back, with just a few too many of his old baggage weighing him down. Ben and Zane tried to keep him from turning back time (and from robbing the grave), but sometimes you just have to let someone keep going on their path. Rip Aku, long live Scaramouche, babe.
In this episode, Pelosi opened the front door, and ICE has not interviewed him. No release of documents or video of the events. Where was Nancy?

Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini audiobook. Scaramouche is a romantic adventure and tells the story of a young aristocrat during the French Revolution. His successive endeavors as a lawyer, politician, actor, lover, and buffoon lead his enemies to call him "Scaramouche" (also called Scaramuccia, a roguish character in the commedia dell'arte), but he impresses many with his elegant orations and precision swordsmanship.
Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Paul Clemens, Son of Legendary Actress Eleanor ParkerAbout Harvey's Guest:Today Harvey welcomes the son of Eleanor Parker, three-time Academy Award nominated actress who starred in some of the most memorable movies of all time, including “Caged”, “Detective Story”, “Interrupted Melody”, “Scaramouche”, “Above and Beyond”, “The Man with the Golden Arm”, and everyone's favourite, “The Sound of Music”. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe, an Emmy, 3 Laurel Awards, and she won Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival in 1950. Of course I'm talking about the radiant and brilliantly gifted Eleanor Parker. I'm delighted to welcome her dear son Paul Clemens to our show. CNN has been in the news (on top of covering it) recently because they published a controversial story about Donald Trump's connections to Russia, an action that led to the resignation of three journalists. The story allegedly connected Senior Advisor Anthony Scaramucci to the Russian direct investment fund, but once again, the authors had only one source, who was not named. CNN has since retracted the story for this reason.
