Hello everyone. Today's guest is one of the region's most prominent sports journalists. She and I met years ago while I was working in public relations, managing the communications for Yas Marina Circuit for the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and Reem was working as a journalist with Sport 360. Since that time, Reem's career has flourished. She is a sports writer, columnist and video journalist for UAE's The National and Saudi Arabia's Arab News, a tennis contributor to CNN and Eurosport, a contributor to wire agency AFP, as well as other outlets including The Guardian US, BBC News, Dubai Eye 103.8, Al Arabiya, and Wimbledon.com. She regularly interviews some of the world's and region's most famous athletes and travels the world to cover a range of sports stories, not just tennis as she clarifies in our chat. Most recently, Reem became the host and concept creator of the podcast Abtal, a series dedicated to Arab athletes and their journeys to the Paris 2024 Olympics - linked below. WEC had more driver lineups being confirmed along with some news of refined Safety Car rules and their commitment to no tire warmers allowed in the coming season. Indycar's big announcement is that the new hybrid power unit would not make its debut at St. Petersburg, FL but rather in the streets of Detroit AFTER the Indy 500. An odd time to switch power units in the middle of the season...This past weekend the Gulf 12 Hours took place at Yas Marina Circuit. This race is the season finale in the Intercontinental GT Challenge which is comprised of GT3 cars. That's all for the on-track action from the 2023 Formula 1 season. But the action will continue on the Inside Line F1 Podcast into the off-season of the sport. We've got a few Team Principals lined up as guests followed by Daryl Goodrich (Director of the Brawn GP documentary) and Andrew Denford (from F1 in Schools). But in this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, Kunal Shah and @f1statsguru review the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Was the race fitting as a finale for the 2023 Formula 1 season? Or was it underwhelming at best? Frankly, the Feature Race of Formula 2 in Abu Dhabi was far more fun! Max Verstappen's 19th win of the season, his overtaking of Sebastian Vettel's win tally of 53 races, his leading more than 1,000 racing laps this season and more. The 2023 Abu Dhabi was yet another race of dominance by Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. However, it was also another classic for Sergio Perez. Checo lost positions yet again, this time due to a post-race time penalty! It's the third consecutive race in which he's lost positions on the final lap! McLaren's missed opportunities with Lando Norris and their slow stop giving George Russell and Mercedes vital track position and points in their battle for P2 against Ferrari, Charles Leclerc's Sainz-esque approach to clinch P2, Tsunoda-Hamilton's last lap scrap and Fernando Alonso's brake-testing of Hamilton. A lot happened in the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix even if the overall race wasn't as exciting. 'Tyre management' was the name of the game, unfortunately. Btw, did you notice the new podium at the Yas Marina Circuit? Also, AI was in action for 'track limits' this race. Lots to talk about, lots to tune in for! Red Bull Racing may have wrapped up a 1-2 finish in the Drivers' Championship for the first time in their Formula 1 history, but the battle for 4th in the Drivers' Championship is still wide open. Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are separated by 12 points for P4. Similarly, the battle for the 2nd in the Constructors' Championship is tightly contested. Ferrari and Mercedes are separated by 4 points only. If you're a Formula 1 fan in Mumbai, join our 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live race screening at Khar SOCIAL on Sunday from 5.30 pm onward. Tickets @ Paytm Insider. P.S.: We will have a live Pit Wall to decode the race via live timing And finally, if the minnows interest you (which we are sure they do!), then only 16 points separated Williams in 7th to Haas in 10th. Yes, they might not be heavy points scorers, but this is Formula 1 and in Abu Dhabi, you never know what result is thrown up!  In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal preview the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It's the 15th race in Abu Dhabi - time flies! But what do you remember the most about the Yas Marina Circuit? The pit lane tunnel exit? Or the fact that it is one of the most-expensive circuits to be ever built...with little to offer for on-track entertainment? Also, if you're worried that Formula 1 will be over and done with after Abu Dhabi, worry not. The start to the 2024 Formula 1 Season will only be 97 days after the chequered flag drops in Abu Dhabi.  A Red Bull Racing-Max Verstappen win might be certain. And if so, Red Bull Racing will only be 1 win behind Williams' all-time race wins in Formula 1 (114). Also, Verstappen will overtake Sebastian Vettel to be the third-highest race winner in the sport - after Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. Of course, he will extend his current record of most wins in a season to 19! But will Sergio Perez lose a spot on the final lap of a race for the third consecutive time? Can Ferrari finally perform in Abu Dhabi? They have scored neither a pole position nor a race win here ever! If they score pole on Saturday, it will be their 250th pole overall. Who will win the qualifying head-to-head in Mercedes? George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are both tied 11-11.  Haven't we already given you all the reasons for tuning in to this weekend's 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and of course, this episode, too? Last year my husband started working for Cunard and so we are really new to cruising but want to make the most of his staff discount. We have a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords booked for July 2023, 7 nights out of Southampton on Queen Victoria. So far the only excursion we've booked is a visit to Briksdal Glacier. We have done lots of research and feel happy with this as the only pre-booked cruise line excursion. The other port days we are happy to just wander nearby to the ship and see where we end up. My question is, do you feel that you can get the best out of port days just going with the flow or do you prefer pre-booked and organised trips? Sitting on a coach with 60 other people looking at passing views is my idea of hell, I'd much rather put on some hiking boots and walk to a waterfall. Just what all goes in to design and erect an FIA/FIM-homologated motor-racing circuit that is used for Formula 1, MotoGP, Formula E & other series? What are the design, legal, practical, civil and even human resource requirements needed? In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora spoke to Ben Wilshire and Dan Selby from Driven International, the company that was responsible for the most-recent changes to the Yas Marina Circuit (for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix). Driven International also designed the Hyderabad Street Circuit in India (for Formula E's Hyderabad ePrix), the Mandalika International Street Circuit in Indonesia (for MotoGP & Superbike World Championship) among others. In Formula 1, the focus always is on car design, but in this April break, we decided to focus on circuit design. After all, Romain Grosjean famously said that it was cheaper to re-design circuits than the racing cars as the sport chased 'ease of overtaking'.  (Season 2023, Episode 15) Follow our host on Twitter: Soumil Arora Image courtesy: Formula 1

Once again it's victory for Verstappen and heartbreak for Hamilton at the Yas Marina Circuit, as the Fast & Loose team brings you all the action from the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022. With the season all but wrapped up ahead of Sunday, headlines largely focused on an event outside the race, as the sport bid farewell to F1 legend Sebastian Vettel, who took part in his last race in an F1 car ahead of his retirement. That being said, the race itself did not disappoint and delivered many twists and turns as events unfolded. Charles Leclerc sealed 2nd place in the Grand Prix, drivers and constructors championships for Ferrari, with what he described as a “perfect” strategy from his team. Lewis Hamilton looked to be having a decent race before a hydraulic issue struck on the penultimate lap, resulting in Mercedes' first mechanical failure of the year. Unfortunately this sealed the inevitable, with Hamilton failing to win a race in a season for the first time in his 22-year career.Throughout the podcast, F1 fans Will Arnett and Michelle Beadle give their hot takes from the weekend and F1 legend Mika gives his analysis and answers your ‘F101' questions. We'd like to thank all of our Fast & Loose listeners for getting on board for the ride this season! Welcome to the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast. Our hosts, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us a motorsport roundup with events from around the World! This week, we cover the Formula 1 finale in Abu Dhabi, plus F2 and news from the FIA! We kick off things with the Formula 1 race at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, which was a bit of a dull race, having already announced the Formula 1 Champion with Max Verstappen dominating the season. How can Abu Dhabi be more exciting? The battle for 2nd in the driver's championship was a tough one between Charles LeClerc and Sergio Perez though, with LeClerc beating the Red Bull driver. We of course have the retirement of Sebastian Vettel, whereas Pierre Gasly is moving to Alpine, with Alonso moving to Aston Martin Racing. The finale to the Formula 2 season was an exciting one too, as Logan Sargeant gets the final seat in F2 for Williams in the 2023 season. Elsewhere, Tiff has been making headlines following some Tweets he posted about Sergio Perez and comments from Max Verstappen's Mum! There's also news from the FIA on potentially starting a new, Women's driver's championship in a Gen 2 Formula Four Series. The World Superbikes Championship also came to an end at Phillip Island, crowning Alvaro Bautista as Champion for 2022. Next week, we have Extreme E in Uruguay, and have announced a raced in Scotland in May next year!

This episode recaps the two-day summit and explores the key themes. First, our Head of Content David Cushnan and Content Producer Cameron Macdonald are joined by Ryan Norys, Chief Revenue Officer ay AS Roma, to recap the action from Day One. The trio touch on a number of topics, including (but not limited to) the renewed focus on purpose in shaping the identity of clubs, the growing desire to bridge the gap between the elite, professional of sport and the grassroots, community-focused end, and what it is like to be in thick of trying to sell these multimillion pound deals, such as the one recently announced between FC Barcelona and Spotify.Later in the episode, from 23.48, David is joined by Phil Cotton, CEO at Elevate, and Laura Georges, Secretary General of the French Football Federation. In this section, the three discuss the goings-on on Day Two and their review of the summit overall. On the conversational agenda; the impact of investing in new ways to engage fans in the culture, the impact of inspiring women and girls to participate in sport, and the fascinating dynamic created when two of our speakers had opposing views.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit threw up a hugely dramatic, and hugely controversial, title decider as Red Bull's Max Verstappen stormed to victory ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton. But it wasn't as straightforward as it sounds, as a late Safety Car reset the race and wiped out Hamilton's huge lead and also gave Verstappen a chance to pit for fresh tyres...With Hamilton's crushing defeat coming on the final lap of the race, a furious Mercedes lodged protests against the results, and the F1 world waits to see if they proceed with an appeal against those protests being dismissed. If they proceed, it lines up yet more drama as it means Verstappen's title win isn't set in concrete until a lengthy legal process is undertaken....Analysing the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend are Formula 1 journalists Dieter Rencken, Mike Seymour and Thomas Maher, who also chat about the on-track action as Sergio Perez earned his Red Bull paycheque by keeping Hamilton behind to bring Verstappen back into play..It's also goodbye to Kimi Raikkonen and Honda, while Dieter also has an announcement to make ahead of 2022!All these topics and more on the new RacingNews365 podcast!
