In this episode of Hangin' at the Hangar Bar, Scott and Candice get personal—and a little generational. From late-bloomer Disney Adult origin stories to Sunday nights with The Wonderful World of Disney, they explore how Disney fandom has evolved (and exploded) across Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.This one's got everything: VHS tapes, spring roll cart loyalty, Disney Channel deep cuts, Splash Mountain discourse, park rituals, Instagram snacks, and that one time the Country Bears caused memory loss. Along the way, they reflect on how each generation experiences the parks, what we value, and how fandom culture has shifted with tech, expectations, and churro-induced outrage.

Summary: This conversation explores the hunting, cooking, and ecological impact of invasive species, focusing on nutria, audad, and European hares. The hosts discuss the history of these species in the U.S., their effects on local ecosystems, and the potential culinary uses of their meat. They emphasize the importance of hunting as a conservation strategy and the need to shift cultural perceptions around consuming invasive species. This conversation explores the ecological and culinary implications of invasive species, focusing on the European hare, feral horses, and wild pigs. The discussion highlights the challenges these species pose to native ecosystems and agriculture, while also considering the potential benefits of hunting and consuming them as a means of conservation. The hosts delve into cultural attitudes towards eating these animals, particularly horses, and advocate for a shift in perspective towards invasive species as a valuable food source. - Leave a Review of the Podcast - Buy our Wild Fish and Game Spices Takeaways: Wild pigs are tough, smart, and destructive. Nutria were introduced for fur farming and became invasive. Nutria cause significant damage to wetlands and crops. Hunting nutria can aid in conservation efforts. Nutria meat is lean and has a mild flavor. Cultural stigma exists around eating invasive species. Audad are invasive and threaten native species. Audad meat varies in flavor based on age and diet. European hares compete with native species for resources. European hare meat is dark, lean, and flavorful. European hares were introduced to the US for hunting and have become invasive. Feral horses are not native to North America and compete with native wildlife. Eating horse meat is culturally accepted in many countries but controversial in the US. Wild pigs are highly adaptable and cause significant ecological damage. Hunting invasive species can aid in conservation efforts and provide food security. Culinary traditions around invasive species can help shift public perception. The management of feral horses is costly and politically sensitive. Wild pigs offer a nutritious and flavorful alternative to domestic pork. Cultural attitudes towards eating certain animals can hinder conservation efforts. Engaging in culinary conservation can benefit both ecosystems and communities. Send us your thoughts and possible requests for show topics. When Kevin arrives at the studio sporting a golf ball-sized hematoma around his eye and displaying wildly swinging moods, what begins as concern quickly devolves into the most chaotic episode we've ever recorded. Behind the laughter lies genuine worry as we subject him to our makeshift "concussion protocol"—a series of increasingly ridiculous questions that reveal more about our friendship dynamics than his neurological state. The conversation takes an unexpectedly philosophical turn when we explore the concept of controlled rage as a survival mechanism. Who among us would be most valuable during societal collapse? Is there something to be said for having that friend who can tap into protective fury when needed? We share personal stories about moments when that simmering anger proved useful, particularly in defending loved ones.Things get surprisingly deep as we dissect recent rumors of potential terrorist threats, workplace drama involving a one-eyed coworker nicknamed "One-Eyed Willie," and the challenges of supporting partners through serious illness. These seemingly disparate topics weave together to form a tapestry of how we process anxiety, protection instincts, and loyalty through our unique brand of inappropriate humor. The episode culminates with our newest creation: Gas Station Food Roulette. This questionable game forces us to sample convenience store cuisine of dubious origin and even more dubious taste. Between bites of a muffin with "the consistency of concrete" and a sandwich containing mystery meat that "might have been made in a government lab," we discover new depths of friendship—the kind where you're willing to risk food poisoning for entertainment value. What makes this episode special isn't just the unhinged energy or bizarre tangents, but the genuine glimpse into how close friends navigate concern, care, and chaos through laughter. Call us at 845-842-1652 to share your own stories of friendship in its rawest, most unfiltered form. https://www.thetakeitdeepshow.com

What part of his history were you most excited to dig into, and what makes your take on the Goblin stand out?Norman's been a villain, a businessman, a politician, and sometimes even a twisted version of a hero. How do you approach writing a character who's constantly shifting between personas?Your Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone series introduces a walled-off wasteland, kaiju lore, and the myth of a half-man, half-kaiju survivor. How did you approach building suspense and worldbuilding in this isolated, almost post-apocalyptic setting?Writing Godzilla means balancing spectacle with humanity. What's your approach to telling grounded stories in the shadow of kaiju-level destruction? Now onto Blink and You'll Miss It — the tone and premise feel so personal and unique. How did this story come together, and what inspired you to tell a love story with a sci-fi twist? There's a big emotional core in Blink and You'll Miss It, but also some wild time-manipulation ideas. How did you balance the heart with the high-concept hook? You're juggling three very different projects — a Marvel villain origin, a giant monster epic, and a bittersweet romantic mini. How do you shift your mindset between such wildly different tones and genres? All three books deal with identity in some form — Norman's fractured psyche, a couple navigating time, and characters caught between humanity and monsters. Is that a theme you're consciously exploring across your work, or something that just naturally emerges?Fun one to wrap things up: If the Green Goblin got his own kaiju-sized glider and showed up in the Godzilla universe… how long would he last, and which monster would absolutely wreck him first?
A couple of weeks ago, Denny was here to talk about his new book Feral Magic and we ran out of time, so I asked him to come back to pick up where he left off. Denny Sargent is teaching how to reconnect with the primordial, animistic world of the spirits and the powers of nature that have been patiently waiting for you to return. Once you become open to this reality, the spirits of nature will welcome you, bond with you, and help you. Practicing feral magick will lead you to form deeper intuitive bonds with your animal allies and to find the inherent power you already possess. The operating principles of intuitive spiritual animistic practices will enable you to better acknowledge and engage with all sorts of woodland spirits and will remind you that you, too, are a spirit of nature. He was also kind enough to walk us through one of the exercises from the book, I love it when all of us can participate in the podcast, instead of just sitting there and listening.

In this class, Denny Sargent is teaching how to reconnect with the primordial, animistic world of the spirits and the powers of nature that have been patiently waiting for you to return. Once you become open to this reality, the spirits of nature will welcome you, bond with you, and help you. Every so often, something hits the inbox that stops me in my tracks. This is one of those emails. In this episode, I'm sharing a message from a man named Marcus—someone who claims to be a former member of a secretive military unit tasked with cleaning up after encounters with cryptids, aliens, and other classified threats. Bigfoot. Dogman. UFOs. You name it—he says he's seen it, and worse. But the reason Marcus reached out? That's where things get truly unsettling.According to him, his unit was deployed to deal with a terrifying incident involving feral people—a group deep in the wilderness responsible for a string of disappearances and brutal killings. He claims they weren't just wild… they were organized. Dangerous. Predatory. If you've listened to That Bigfoot Podcast, you'll know Wayne and I have talked about feral people in the Appalachians before. And while it sounds like the stuff of horror movies, there are documented cases of strange disappearances and alleged human predators in remote areas. Marcus's email adds a new layer to that disturbing possibility.Let me be clear:I cannot verify Marcus's identity or his story. This is not presented as fact. But it was compelling, detailed, and dark enough that I felt it was worth sharing with you.⚠️ LISTENER DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED.This episode contains graphic descriptions of violence, death, and intense combat scenarios involving humans, cryptids, and alleged non-human entities. It is absolutely not suitable for children or sensitive listeners.Whether you believe Marcus or not, what he describes is chilling—and once you hear it, you won't forget it.Join Mireya's Explorer Society Get Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteSupport Our SponsorsVisit Untold Radio AMBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.

Tonight's guest, Jerry Millwood Jr., was featured on last Friday night's episode of the show. On that show, he talked about the two Sasquatch sightings he's had, in the South Mountains Mountain Chain, in Western North Carolina. He also shared several encounters eyewitnesses have shared with him, from that area, over the years. At the end of that show, however, he shared an encounter that a family had with what was, most likely, a group of feral people. On tonight's show, he's going to share another encounter an eyewitness had with feral people, talk about feral people, in general, and then he's going to share some more encounters. We hope you'll tune in and listen to him do that.If you've had a Bigfoot sighting and would like to be a guest on the show, please go to BigfootEyewitness.com and let me know.If you'd like to help support the show, by buying your own Bigfoot Eyewitness t-shirt or sweatshirt, please visit the Bigfoot Eyewitness Show Store, by going to https://Dogman-Encounters.MyShopify.com I produce 4 other shows that are available on your favorite podcast app. If you haven't checked them out, here are links to all 4 channels on the Spreaker App...My Bigfoot Sighting https://www.spreaker.com/show/my-bigfoot-sighting Dogman Tales https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/dogman-tales--6640134 Dogman Encounters https://www.spreaker.com/show/dogman-encounters-radio_2 My Paranormal Experience https://www.spreaker.com/show/my-paranormal-experience Thanks, as always, for listening!
What if the monsters from your worst nightmares were real? What if there was an entire hidden war being fought in America's wilderness areas that the government will never acknowledge? Tonight's episode features an extraordinary firsthand account from someone calling himself "Marcus" - a soldier who claims to be part of an elite military unit that doesn't officially exist. According to Marcus, his team handles the situations that are too dangerous, too weird, or too embarrassing for regular military and law enforcement to touch. In this chilling email confession sent exclusively to our show, Marcus details his unit's encounters with creatures that challenge everything we think we know about what's really out there. From massive, intelligent Sasquatch that hunt humans like prey, to crashed UFOs containing beings conducting horrific experiments on abducted Americans, to savage feral human communities that have abandoned all traces of civilization.Marcus describes battles with cryptid creatures in underground cave systems, government cover-ups of alien technology recovery operations, and organized groups of feral people who view other humans as nothing more than food sources. According to his account, these aren't isolated incidents - they're part of an ongoing shadow conflict that most Americans have no idea is happening in the forests and wilderness areas around them.Whether you believe Marcus's claims or not, his detailed descriptions of tactical operations, government protocols, and creature encounters paint a disturbing picture of a hidden world existing alongside our own. His military background comes through in every line, from his operational terminology to his matter-of-fact descriptions of extreme violence.WARNING: This episode contains extremely graphic descriptions of violence, death, cannibalism, and torture that may be disturbing to some listeners. The content includes detailed accounts of human and animal mutilation, psychological trauma, and systematic predation that some may find deeply unsettling. This episode is not suitable for younger audiences or those sensitive to graphic violence and horror themes.Listener discretion is strongly advised.

Dave Hill seamlessly blends virtuosic guitar playing with razor-sharp comedy, creating an entirely unique performance experience that defies categorization. In this captivating conversation with Greg Koch, Dave reveals the unexpected path that led him from his Cleveland roots as a rock musician to becoming a multifaceted comedian, author, and performer in New York City. The heart of Dave's artistic evolution came when he discovered audiences found genuine humor in his guitar prowess. "When I realized that people were laughing at guitar solos—not in a mocking way—I started doing things like tapping," Dave explains. This revelation transformed his approach, allowing him to stretch 10 minutes of material into 20 while "getting laughs in different ways" and developing his signature style of berating his backing musicians between impressive solos. What makes Dave's performances particularly fascinating is his "Chuck Berry style" approach to working with local musicians. Often meeting his backing band just hours (or sometimes minutes) before showtime, he transforms this unpredictability into comedic gold. Whether performing with legendary musicians like Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers or with drummers who "own drums at best," Dave embraces the chaos as part of his art form. The conversation drifts through numerous fascinating detours, from their shared Catholic upbringings to the unpredictable nature of social media virality. Dave shares stories about opening for Tenacious D in arenas, writing four books, and crafting the theme song for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver with his band Valley Lodge. Through it all, his creative philosophy remains refreshingly simple: "You really can only entertain yourself... anytime you're thinking 'what do people want,' that's not part of the equation."Follow Dave on social media for his hilarious "fake commercials" and check out his band Valley Lodge for a taste of his musical side. As Dave puts it: "I'm feral, this is what I do... now I just have to ride it out until I die, because that's the only option really."

People visiting Cincinnati are usually stunned to find the city has a thriving lizard population - thanks to a little boy who released some reptiles smuggled from Italy. And new students to Kent State University are often thrilled to see a black squirrel for the first time, a species introduced to the campus in the 1950s. But not all newish residents of Ohio are welcomed. Just ask the folks in the south and southeast where a feral type of boar that crossed into the state 40 years ago is proving to be destructive.www.ohiomysteries.comfeedback@ohiomysteries.comwww.patreon.com/ohiomysterieswww.twitter.com/mysteriesohiowww.facebook.com/ohiomysteriesAdditional music:New Horizon - Aderin; Audionautix- The Great Unknown; The Great Phospher- Daniel Birch Learn more about your ad choices. Over the last few years, students at Utah State University built a weekly ritual at their school gym to grow the climbing community on campus. When Utah's legislature passed a contentious bill last year, that routine was stripped away after. Students rallied to raise awareness, fighting to keep their weekly meet-up alive.
