Apple también está enfocándose en el renting de dispositivos, lo que podría ser un negocio más rentable que las financiaciones. Their talk revolves around how large technology businesses in non-financial spaces are venturing into both fintech and healthcare at the same time. Some of the companies that are mentioned include: Apple, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft among others.Episode Highlights:● 01:06: – What is Facebook’s approach in the cryptocurrency arena?● 05:27: – What is the Chinese company WeChat?● 07:21: – What are the differences between Messenger and WeChat?● 10:06: – What is the world’s biggest hedge fund, where is it located, and why?● 11:03: – Where is Apple going with Apple Pay, Apple Pay Cash, and Apple Credit Cards?● 16:44: – Banks will become utility providers that provide financial infrastructure.● 18:04: – What is Google struggling with in the fintech space?● 22:30: – What are their thoughts on Microsoft’s partnership with BlackRock?● 27:32: – How do they feel about Amazon Cash?3 Key Points:1. Alexa. Siri. Cortana. We’re talking to or at our machines. I walk into my office and say “Hey Google, what’s the weather?” or “Hey Google, when’s my first appointment?” When I’m driving in a strange town, it’s “hey Google, navigate to the [fill in the blank] hotel.” This kind of hands-free access to information is hugely helpful and hugely popular. But there’s a long way to go toward a general purpose voice interface for every task we want to accomplish. That said, we’re getting there. In this conversation with Central 1’s Alex Chan, we discuss the process of voice-enabling access to the high volume queries that credit union members make, i.e. balance inquiries, balance transfers, etc. We cover what it takes to build an Alexa skill, the code that links Alexa’s natural language processing to the underlying application that executes the action. Voice design, the process of imagining and codifying how the user interaction proceeds, is at the heart of a successful voice-enablement project. Alex takes us through that process. It sounds like fun. While payments are a tiny fraction of today’s voice-based interactions, they’re coming along, too. Better design and broader participation is needed. As a recent (failed) demo proved, Siri can’t send me money if I’m not an Apple Pay Cash user. Take a listen and get in touch if you've questions or comments. We'd love to hear from you!

It's the one before our big 100th Space Javelin episode, cadets, and the command deck is all abuzz with a supply shuttle's worth of new gear to play with! The Galaxy Note 9 and the Google Pixel 3 Plus both lose out to the nearly year-old iPhone X, Samsung puts out a smart speaker, Magic Leap stumbles, the Dell XPS 15 and Huawei Matebook challenge the 2018 MacBook Pro, and we have a double-length Engineering Report segment as well! But wait, there's more! Not all the news was centered around hardware this week -- TSMC got hit with a virus, Apple got hit with a court date in India, Google ruined co-captain Charles' day by going with "Pie" instead of "Pez" (yawn!), Qualcomm plays a $800 million "Get Out of Jail Free" card, Consumer Reports likes Apple Pay Cash, Verizon extends users' Apple Music trial, Apple gains more support for its Health Records initiative, more audio makers get on board with AirPlay 2, Movies Anywhere gains Microsoft, and NC teachers are getting new iPads. All this, and we're not done yet! Mike and Charles dicker over the "best Mac ever made," Palm is being resurrected from the dead, a passel of AppleInsider articles get some praise, while a raft of new eGPUs get the once over. Also inspected are the Lenovo Smart Display, the Elevation dark Qi charger, the Sonnet Echo 11 TB3 dock, and more! We're pushing the warp engines to their limit, cadets, and this episode may contain more than the human brain can safely hold! Standby for supercompressed knowledge, and try not to lose ... your mind!

First up on today's show, Alibaba's Ant Financial has abandoned a $1.2bn takeover of MoneyGram (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/ucLFCXmH8NX8GEudL/alibaba-s-ant-financial-abandons-usd1-2bn-moneygram-takeover). So what were the US regulator's concerns over national security and personal data. Continuing the regulatory theme, we explore open banking and traditional banking. The guys discuss why open banking might threaten the survival of traditional banks (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/YZr6HXRtQ9EnZg42P/why-new-rules-threaten-the-survival-of-traditional-banks). Plus, new research suggests that consumer awareness of open banking is at a major low (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/y6EtbnoKgwTf4C7Ja/consumer-awareness-of-open-banking-at-major-low-spelling), amidst suggestions that in 2018 you'll pay through Amazon and Facebook (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/fnbETAJaHgyDYjajZ/forget-banks-in-2018-you-will-pay-through-amazon-and). Next, we ask what is MiFID II (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/mzBe234P52F9RmDGP/what-is-mifid-ii-europe-s-sweeping-financial-regulations) and how will it increase transparency and bolster investor protection? The guys discuss why the credit card fees ban has backfired (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/kJLm9wg6iYekcJyAY/credit-card-fees-ban-backfires-as-consumers-face-new-service), and why consumers face new 'service charges' and higher prices. Is it right that by 'fat-cat Thursday', top bosses' pay after just three days overtakes workers' average annual salary (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42559224)? P2P payments are back, so is it true that Apple Pay Cash won't be the death of Venmo (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/AyLaQygcTJT33Sxa6/apple-pay-cash-won-t-be-the-death-of-venmo-but-i-found-the)? And if not, could Zelle (https://www.zellepay.com/) do it? And in the world of banking and savings apps, the guys explore news that Thomas Cook is planning a banking app (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/bbvN7GjzimqNS6p5M/thomas-cook-plans-banking-app), plus the consequences of news that savings app Folio has gone under (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/HRHtkyZwccievPGpe/exclusive-savings-app-folio-goes-under). After a very relevant tweet (https://twitter.com/emilyrauhala/status/948499438141628416), we return to a story from Ep. 141. The future will be tokenised (http://fi.11fs.com/145), with an update on the Chinese government's plans to give every citizen a score based on their trustworthiness (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/wm6r2Nmu4SZ4qeFLj/the-chinese-government-wants-to-give-every-citizen-a-score). So does this sound like a great endorsement of your behaviour or an Orwellian intrusion? Let us know your thoughts @FintechInsiders. In the last story for this week's news, why psychedelic stickers are blowing AI minds (https://fintechinsidernews.com/posts/Fv4bqpkZf9RBza46x/these-psychedelic-stickers-blow-ai-minds). We think these might become quite popular in the near future... And finally on today's show, we offer our predictions for 2018. Tune in to hear the team's thoughts on open banking, SMEs and anticipatory design, and check out our 2018 predictions (https://11fs.com/blog/our-2018-predictions/) blog. Thanks for listening! Next week is our last podcast for 2017 (and Season Two), but we'll be back after New Years. In the meantime, another fight has broken out in Techworld, and this one's likely to get ugly: Google is withholding direct YouTube services from most Amazon products, and each side blames the other, like relatives at a testy, political holiday dinner. Apple bought Shazam, Apple Pay Cash is here, and Charles and Mike take bets on whether the iMac Pro will actually arrive this week or not. Apple also gets another toasting for yet another software flaw (this time in HomeKit) even as they fix the other notable ones from last week, but a third-party alternative keyboard says "hold my beer" and actually does even more damage. Of course, last week saw the long-promised release of Amazon Prime Video for Apple TV, and the TV app is now available in France, Germany, and most of the UK (apart from Malcolm's house), along with a general release of the Sirius XM app for Apple TV in the USA. AirPods are taking off, Apple makes the most popular camera in the world, Mike reviews the Caldigit 2TB Tuff hard drive, the HDMI 2.1 spec with 10K resolution (yes, 10K) is out, and Target needs to get with the mobile-payments program. All this and much more, cadets, so double up on your space food and get plenty of sleep-pod time: you'll want to be wide awake for this one!

There are reports of some iPhone X units displaying a bright green line vertically down the screen, with some suspecting this could be a hardware fault.  Some users have also reported buzzing and crackling from the earpiece speaker when playing loud audio. Apple have said they are aware of some iPhone X units that become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment. Apple is $100 Billion away from becoming the world’s only trillion dollar company. Apple shares are currently trading for around $175, giving the iPhone maker a market cap of roughly $900 billion. The valuation puts Apple within $100 billion of becoming the world's only trillion dollar company.  Apple have released iOS 11.1.1, which fixes a bug that caused the letter “i” to auto correct to “A [?]” Apple Pay Cash has released in beta form in iOS 11.2 beta. It also takes care of device settings like language, region, network, keyboard preferences, Siri and Home and health data. The setup is reminiscent of setting up a new Apple Watch, but even easier.   DisplayMate: iPhone X Has the 'Most Innovative and High Performance' Smartphone Display Ever Tested https://www.cultofmac.com/512485/iphone-x-boasts-best-smartphone-display-ever/ Displaymate:  iPhone X's display resolution provides "significantly higher image sharpness" than can be analyzed by a person with normal 20/20 vision at a 12-inch viewing distance. DisplayMate said this means that it's now "absolutely pointless" to increase the display resolution and pixels per inch of the iPhone any further, since there would be "no visual benefit" for users "highest absolute color accuracy of any display we have ever tested," with a display that is "visually indistinguishable from perfect.”   iPhone X could be Apple’s most fragile handset ever https://www.cultofmac.com/512369/iphone-x-apples-fragile-handset-ever/ Stress tests by SquareTrade Labs used a range of scientific robots to drop, bend, tumble, and dunk their new iPhone X to see how it managed to hold up to “everyday” damage. They’re calling the X the most breakable, highest priced, most expensive to repair iPhone ever.   How to use Apple Pay Cash to send money to friends https://www.cultofmac.com/512855/use-apple-pay-cash-send-money/ Apple’s new peer-to-peer payments system called Apple Pay Cash is finally rolling out to public beta testers today with the release of the public beta for iOS 11.2 beta 2 and watchOS 4.2 beta 2, giving iPhone and iPad users the ability to send money to each other electronically. It lets you send money to each other using iMessage. You can send up to $3,000 and the transaction is free if you use a debit card registered in your Apple Wallet. Have a credit or debit card registered in your Apple Wallet Be in the United States Have two-factor authentication activated on your Apple ID Use an iPhone 6 or newer Both you and the receiver must be running iOS 11.2 If you meet the above requirements, a new app will show up in the iMessage Dock Once you hit $500 in Apple Pay Cash transactions, you must verify your identity. To do so, you need to take a picture of your driver’s license or official state ID card, and provide some personal information (Social Security number and so on).   iPhone X keeps your notifications secret from people who aren’t you https://www.cultofmac.com/511647/iphone-x-keeps-notifications-secret/ Thanks to Face ID, the iPhone X knows when its owner is looking at it, and can hide the content of your notifications until you do so. Now, if somebody else picks up your iPhone X and takes a peek at your incoming alerts, it will only see a list of the apps that have notifications for you.     X-rated Tips   How to teach FaceID to work more accurately If Face ID doesn’t recognize your face, don’t reposition your face so it will accept it. Instead, type in the passcode so it will ad that position of your face to the accepted data set.   Activating multitasking The smallest swipe of the home bar will register that you want to command the home bar to either go home or multitask. Moment you stop moving you will begin multitasking.   Scroll to the top To quickly scroll to the top in any app, just double tap anywhere at the top of the screen (under the notch, or side of notch both work)   Adjust your notification privacy settings  iPhone X has them hidden by default if your phone is locked.  You can go to Settings>Notifications>Show Previews to make them visible when locked.

Difícil de predecir tratándose de Apple, pero quizá un acuerdo similar al que tiene con Green Dot en USA pueda ser establecido fácilmente en otros países con otros proveedores. ¿De qué hablo?
