Hey y'all...Welcome back to the podcast! After a year-long break, I decided to dive back into something I really love doing with an episode titled "Time Check!" In this episode, I explore the pivotal choices we face in our 30s—career shifts, relationship decisions, lifestyle changes, and so much more. This is an engaging episode that hopefully marks my return to podcasting and also sparks introspection about the paths we choose and the importance of enjoying every phase of our lives.
This episode of the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast is all about summer time. John starts off with a quick story of how he almost went on a last second Canadian black bear hunt! He got invited on not just one, but two bear hunts in the same day. After that the episode gets a little more serious and John covers a few things that all whitetail hunters need to be doing this time of year. He also has a brief discussion on if summer time trail camera data is actually helpful for killing a buck later in the fall. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

NOTE: We are re-publishing this episode due to audio issues in the initial episode (which I couldn't fully fix – oh well!). We apologize for the mishap! Thank you to all our listeners who brough this to our attention. Unfortunately the issue with Curtis' microphone won't get fixed until he gets a new microphone… I wish I had a Patreon to plug here… Welcome ladies, germs, and people of all genders! Join Taylor & Curtis as we cover horror movies from 2023 in the midst of the Halloween season to give our wonderful, loyal listeners some recommendations on what 2023 movies to watch, rent, or avoid this Halloween season. Usually, we do our “mid-year” reviews a little earlier… but 2023 has been a, uh, interesting year for horror, so we're doing our recap a little bit later, and hopefully at a good time for our listeners to catch up a little on their 2023 watches! Is Paul Blart: Mall Cop a horror movie? Is it a good idea to begin recording 9:30 PM? Is “enjoying Nick Cage” a hot take? Do “all men” love Leonardo DiCaprio? Listen and find out! Please connect with us on Instagram: @ahhrealfilms, or drop us a line to let us know how we're doing, or to suggest a future topic or film to discuss: ahhrealfilms@gmail.com. We'd love any recommendations for this series or a future listener submitted episode! And please remember to rate, review, and subscribe on your favorite podcast app! You can also find us both on Letterboxd! Follow us on our horror journey and occasional forays into romcoms (because let's be real). Taylor: @happydeathtay Curtis: @let5groove2nit3

This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for Friday, July 14.There will be another day with a chance for rain, although a lot is uncertain. According to the National Weather Service it will be partly sunny in the Cedar Rapids area on Friday. There will be a 50 percent chance of showers all day. The amount of predicted rain will be less than a quarter inch in total, except in areas where thunderstorms develop. The city of Cedar Rapids will soon launch its process of refreshing the master plan guiding development of the approximately 130-acre greenway along the west side of the Cedar River — providing a vision for enhancements and recreational amenities alongside flood protection. The Cedar Rapids City Council this week signed off on a contract with Brooklyn, New York-based Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc. to update the greenway parks plan for $262,800.The greenway plan will cover three areas: the Time Check neighborhood running north; the central riverfront in Kingston Village; and Czech Village in the south. The greenway project will be coordinated to work with other city renovation and flood control projects as the city seeks to continue to improve the spaces that were heavily hit by flooding 15 years ago and by a derecho in 2020.There will be some new local flight options available to Florida, just as the temperatures start to get colder here.American Airlines on Thursday announced it will add a direct flight to Miami from Cedar Rapids, starting in November,The Saturday-only seasonal service will run November through March. The announcement came the same week that Allegiant announced that, also starting in November, it will offer nonstop flights from The Eastern Iowa Airport to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport — marking the airline's ninth nonstop flight route out of the Cedar Rapids airport. The new flight will fly twice a week. Allegiant announced introductory fares would start at $60, for one-way flights. Initial plans called for the new Cedar Rapids flight to be offered year-round, but Allegiant considers all of its routes to be seasonal because its business model is built on offering low-cost airfare during vacation seasons.Mike and the late Esther Wilson of Cedar Rapids have given $1 million toward the renovation of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum in West Branch. The Hoover Presidential Foundation said the gift has pushed the “Timeless Values | Modern Experience” fundraising campaign to roughly 65 percent of its $20 million goal.Esther Wilson, who died in July 2022, was an active volunteer with RSVP, assisting Erskine Elementary students with mathematics and providing bookkeeping support to older women.Mike Wilson, now 97, was an engineer at Rockwell Collins, who had limited time for other activities while working but embraced volunteer work after he retired, assisting student robotics teams and serving on his church's board of trustees. An area in the museum dedicated to standards and regulations, a topic in which Hoover, an engineer, played a pivotal role while U.S. secretary of commerce, will be named in Wilson's honor.

At the Thrive Together Network, we host an annual retreat for our community where we come together in person to rest, get inspired, and bond. In addition, and especially since this experience is not going to work for everyone every year, we recommend all artists do a personal retreat once or twice a year. In Episode #35 of the Thriving Artist Podcast, How to Plan a Personal Art Retreat, we break down the steps on how to create a retreat experience for yourself that works for your circumstances. Jamie and Kaylan's Six Steps to Creating your Own Personal Retreat Are: Block your Time: Check your schedule for available time. This should be 6 to 48 hours. Pick a day where you can push all the other to-do's aside or a night or two where you can totally unplug from your normal responsibilities and get away. If you don't claim the time, it will never happen! Name What Matters: Think about what you are needing most right now. What sounds MOST nourishing to you? Is it reconnection with your body or nature? Is it seeing art in person? List one or two things as a guidepost for yourself as you plan. Remember, not every retreat should be the same, we get to tweak them based on what we are craving during this season. Plan Ahead So You Feel Cared For: If you were planning the retreat for a friend, what steps would you take to make them feel special? Do those things for yourself!! Buy your favorite bottle of wine, pack a bag of your favorite snacks, get ready to crack open that book you've been dying to read. Pack well and do it when you feel calm and thoughtful about the retreat. Do Some Writing and Reflection: We are huge believers in taking stock through quiet moments of writing. We wrote a whole workbook for our community to follow for a YEAR that is full of this stuff! Take time to follow some of the writing prompts from this episode to reflect on your practice. It pays off! Prioritize Something You “Never Have Time For”: This is the time to do that thing that you just have been putting off. Not a task or to-do, but something for PLEASURE and joy. Just go do it! Make it a part of your plan and be nourished by it. Let Go of Expectations and Have a Plan B in Your Pocket: This retreat will not go perfectly. And perfect is not the goal here. The point is to prioritize yourself, take up some space and make the claim that you matter. Come up with a plan B in case your dream retreat scenario doesn't work out. Don't forget to get signed up for our newsletter so you don't miss the Artists Summer Toolkit that is going to drop June 12th. It's a packet of info to help you plan your retreats and get set up for a great summer. Go to www.thrivetogethernetwork.com to sign up. As always, we are here for you, we are cheering you on, and we believe in the work you are doing as thriving artists.

Time slips, time anomalies, missing time. How can we be so sure time flows in one direction. OBEs, UFO encounters and Near Death experiences all suggest time is much more flexible than conventional routine allows. Can we explore that? Certainly it is possible in OBE. Otherwise, for now - the trick is to simply hang on for the ride and get used to being given clues while making the adjustment to a radical relationship that allows for things to happen in a fashion that can be mind blowing - picture 'everywhere all at once'. The world opened in a new way for me when I discovered the book - and watched the series - Picnic at Hanging Rock. Amazon Link. I then followed up with The Secret of Hanging Rock and the Biography of Joan Lindsay to find more clues about Joan's unique view and relationship with time. While all that is going on -- [you experience what you focus on] -- I had a few interesting time anomalies and I revisit others that previously challenged me to revise my world view -- a reality reset. There are so many wonders begging to be incorporated into our reality. Apparently, due to lack of imagination or fear of the unknown, the only way they can be discovered is when someone trips over them. Eventually allowed/acknowledged existence when the due date on those who can't or refuse to experience them has expired. Consider a dimension where Alice in Wonderland is not a fantasy but guided tour of a world designed to trigger creativity and imagination, to awaken the awareness that anything and everything that happens is actually off the clock. In this segment - Time Travel jaunt - the fog residue Clock time - shift Squirrels down the well - novelty Cat and the non-collar - a disguise in plain view Blog - https://talkingtonightlights.wordpress.com/2023/03/09/paranormal-encounters-and-time-shifts-are-they-increasing/

(Lander, WY) – Just in time for the closing of Mental Health Awareness Month, 1330 KOVE AM / 107.7 FM and Coffee Time aired the first episode of Mental Health Monday, hosted by Vince Tropea. The goal of Mental Health Monday is to start an open dialogue about a number of mental health topics, and how folks are being affected on local, state and national levels. Guests will range from psychiatrists, psychologists, school/drug/grief counselors, and any other professionals in the field, as well as testimonials from those affected by mental health issues, such as students, veterans, first responders, and many more. Tropea recently spoke with David Martorano, MD, Assistant Medical Director, Director of Adult Psychiatric Services at the Wyoming Behavioral Institute (WBI). Dr. Martorano, a second-generation psychiatrist, obtained his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of California Neuropsychiatric Institute. He specializes in addictions and is affiliated with the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the California Society of Addiction Medicine. Tropea and Martorano discussed a variety of topics, including: the worryingly high rate of suicides in Wyoming, the shortage of mental health professionals in our state, the lack of funds to keep said professionals here, the roles of both in and out patient care, how drug dependency affects mental health, the pandemic's affect on mental health, and the importance of having open dialogues about mental health, especially with the youth. Check out the full, first official Mental Health Monday interview with Dr. Martorano below. Be sure to tune in to Coffee Time every morning at 8:00 AM on 1330 KOVE AM / 107.7 FM, or stream it live right here. If you would like to be a guest on Mental Health Monday, please reach out to vince@county10.com.

It never ceases to amaze me how often people say, "I'd really like to do XYZ...but I just don't have the time." You probably can find the time. Just open your calendar and keep flicking through until you find an empty slot. You may have to jump ahead 127 days from today...all the way to 10 April 2022...but eventually you will find an open slot. If it's important enough to you, you can find the time. Schedule it. Commit to it. Make it happen. #timemanagement #scheduling #priorities

“Can I get a time check?” Do you end up in quarrels because one of you is just not time-conscious? For one of us, 10 minutes early is cutting it close. For the other, 5 minutes late is no big deal. If one of you cherishes time and the other doesn't, this can lead to conflict. We testify! Can we learn to respect the other's relationship with time? Or is this one of those things we'll always be at odds about? Let's get into it! Hello there and welcome to Yes Please!, the companion podcast to Check Please! This podcast goes into greater details about people and events. These episodes take place between the episodes of the main Check Please! podcast.
If you’ve listened to my podcast for any length of time, you know one of my main objectives is to change the way we look at mental health. Traditionally, we have all been taught to ONLY seek mental health treatment after things have gone really wrong. But what if we treated our mental health the same way we treat your physical help? Most of us get a yearly physical and go to the dentist every six months. We should do the same for our mental health, seek treatment not because anything is wrong but because you want to keep things headed in the right direction. I’ve coined this term getting a “couch time check-in.” During a couch time check-in you sit down with a therapist and discuss how things are going in several aspects of your life. I genuinely believe this process would go a long in preventing small issues from becoming big ones. On today's show, I'll l give you a sneak peek into how a couch time check in can help you. We will explore six specific areas, and I'll give you a simple tool to do a quick self-assessment. I think this show will be a great way to end the year and get you ready for 2021.Mentioned during the show/resources:Psychology Today https://www.psychologytoday.com/Drop the BS Podcast Page www.dropthebspodcast.com

In this episode, The Angel's chariot awaits, Preston is ready to take a chance again, and someone in the band takes the fall. (That sounds like the description of an episode that you'd read in like a TV Guide). Then James and Erin discuss the simple-sounding, but very complicated, question of "What time is it?" The election is over, and Sam and Ivan are here on Curmudgeon's Corner to discuss how things turned out. You'll hear their thoughts on the overall results, problems with polling, how things went in Florida and Georgia, the Senate results, how Trump is reacting, and much more. They have to toss in a few other things even on a big politics week, so Ivan talks about a random technological observation from the 1990s in Argentina, Sam notes a major milestone for the show, and of course, they can't go a week without at least some pandemic talk. As an extra bonus, after the show proper, you can listen to a condensed version of the Curmudgeon's Corner election night live stream. Enjoy! Holy December 1st, Batman! Time has flown by in 2019, and maybe you're like the Radio Theology crew, who spent an embarrassing amount of time on social media! You'll never believe how much (read: how little) time Lisa spent in the Bible app. Plus, we talk Disney+, Thanksgiving leftovers, and Lisa's insane morning with her two-year-old (spoiler alert: there is an entire bag of flour AND poop in this story). This is the full show that aired on 12/1/19 on 99.5 WZPL.

Don Menza was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where he began playing tenor, saxophone when he was 13. He worked with so many artists, the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones as well as Louie Bellson, and many more, he composed "Groovin' Hard" and "Time Check" and his son Nick Menza was drummer for the heavy metal band Megadeth. This year Don reached the amazingly active age of 83. When I heard he was appearing at CID in Ptui I had to go along!
