Welcome to Drunk Bike Shop. We recorded this in the middle of September, but for a multitude of reasons, it’s only just coming out now. Why? Because some of us (it was Matt) messed up recording their audio, which complicated editing the very first episode of a show that was already behind itself since day one. Seriously, this show was created by accident in March, had a name by April or May, then filled out the rest of the co-hosting roles by August/September. It just wouldn’t be us if we had it out in a timely manner.

Instead, the day turned into one of the most inspirational and electric days seen at a sprint triathlon in quite some time. USA Triathlon sent some of their para olympic and olympic hopeful athletes to compete. As an added bonus one of them, Kyle Coon was guided by Olympian Andy Potts and came in 11th overall.  Melissa Stockwell, Kendall Gretsch, Hailey Danisewicz also competed for team USA.   High School Cycling League Challenge 2 Winners Announced–these Kids Can More Than Ride, They are Super Creative! It is the first of the three week races of the cycling season, usually taking place in May into early June. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 edition of the race was moved to October 3 to 25. As you might expect, the race predominantly takes place within its home country of Italy, but has frequently visited other nations in its 102 editions so far – the 103rd edition in 2020 was meant to start in Hungary until the coronavirus postponement. This year’s edition of the race has attracted some serious talent despite plenty of riders opting to target the Tour de France in August/September and the Classics in October.   Video of the Week: Last Call Triathlon, Sister Madonna, Para Triathletes, high energy!  This is a really well done race video produced by Jerod Picune.  Jared Picune is a creative and technical aficionado with a passion for design, motion graphics and cinematography. #045: Lori Richardson Author She Sells - Why the Pandemic Could Attract/Repel Women in to Sales

Lori Richardson is working literally to change the face of B2B sales. She is CEO of Score More Sales. A sales strategy company. Also, the president of Women Sales Pro, promoting more women in sales and sales leadership. Lori is a popular keynote speaker on Sales and Women in Sales and is recognised by LinkedIn as a top voice in B2B sales. Advising on how to ride out this pandemic, Lori said, the most important things is a mindset, it is everything. The people who have been consultative sellers - keep doing what they are doing because we are all about adding value, we are all about listening to our buyers, were about understanding who our buyers and customers are. Keep doing that. Be more consultative and how more than ever be of more value as sellers. If you can get away from that vendor status, that is the dream. Sales leader need to re-orientate what they are doing and do it better, not like a micro-manager. Setting a tone for every day they need to get on a group call and maybe an end of the day call to see, what their teams are working on, what they are excited about and let people know that we are all in this together. Folks are accessible now so; it is a great time to set up appointments, set up meetings and then talk to people when perhaps you can get their whole buying team on a conversation. Talking about her book, She Sells, which will be available August September, Lori said, the inspiration came to her at a pivotal moment. She was consulting with a company, looking out at a room full of sales leaders and realising in this entire room of 70 people had only four women. She realised she needed to find out why, after so many years since she started in sales, little had changed. Over time, Lori collected stories and interviewed both men and women. Since Covid-19 looking at the state of diversity and inclusion and sales, there are still companies in crisis right now, companies are changing their messaging and how they do business, and where they do business. More than ever, it is critical that we have diverse sales teams because women bring so much to the table. When it comes to more empathy, more communication, strong listening skills, and just having diverse opinions, women handle risk differently than men. These are the critical things that we need going into post-COVID unchartered waters, a time we have never dealt with before. The book, She Sells has pivoted and rewrote a couple of chapters to reflect why it is an imperative rather than a nice to have. Biases are changing, for example, higher-level sales executives have massive amounts of travel, in fact, said Lori, we call them road warriors, right. This does not have to be the case anymore. It will be interesting whether companies adapt and the company leadership view of how things could change. I am curious to see whether some women get out of sales because of the quota, and having fewer customers or maybe it is chaotic at their company, who knows? And it will be interesting to see how all these things kind of shakeout. Gartner recently updated their women and sales research, that chief revenue officers and companies think that the balance of gender is okay, and that goes against what we show in in the statistics. It shows that people still need to have compelling reasons to make an effort for more women and sales. And I do talk about the fact that it does take some extra effort because as women generally work extremely hard in a role and accomplish many things, but we will not shout it out to everyone. There are some great male allies that support women; we need leadership to very clearly set out what the mission and the vision of the company what they stand for and then walk the talk. Women more than men care about working for a company whose ethics match their own and who will walk. You can pre-order She Sells Attract, Promote, and Retain Great Women in B2B Sales, from Women Sales Pro https://womensalespros.com/shesells website. I am a privilege white woman and share her experiences stating it is hard to say speak of other people experiences, who is not like me. This book is about gender, and she believes the next step, and she wants to enrol more people in helping share their story. Lori wants to see more extensive ethnicity and inclusion, noting ageism is a big issue, particularly in technology in companies. Those with less able and mental health, and more folks for the military. Lori offered her tried and tested to scale. One of the most underused, opportunities is to build what she calls the third list of strategic referral partners. It is a great time to do this during the pandemic because you have a list of your customers, you have a list of your prospects. But do you have a formal record of people who could refer your multiple times on an ongoing basis, and do you have a consistent process for how and when you contact them? Building a strategic refer network and having a process that you methodically work your extended network. When asked, who is your Shero? Jill Konrath, she is a good friend now she is written four books on sales. They are all excellent, and they are all relevant, and I reached out to her and us over time, we built an extraordinarily strong friendship. Ultimately, Women's Sales Pro was created because of Jill's inspiration. Jill is standing up and wanting to see more women on the main stages in sales conferences and at company events. https://www.linkedin.com/in/scoremoresales/ https://womensalespros.com/shesells/ https://twitter.com/scoremoresales

Born French-Georgian, Van Hechter is a Montreal-based pop artist with an edge; he is funny, cutting, at times political, yet his tracks are catchy and always easy to dance to… — He grew up between Canada, France and the U.S.A., studied opera, literature and cinema in college, then dropped everything to become a punk singer, joining a locally successful band which he renamed Audiobing. After disbandment, Van focused on writing and music production, but in 2017, he returned to his first love; singing, releasing ”Van Unlikely”, which reunited him with Montreal/Toronto/Miami crowds…In June 2019, he released ”Love Elastic”— a hyper-uplifting song about love in the 21st century… Slogan goes like so; ”Because true love isn’t possessive, it is flexible, it morphs through time and doesn’t break. It is elastic…”The music video did very well on YouTube and got the track radio airplay in the UK.This got the attention of NYC record label Lafayette Street Records's president Iggy Kizil, who signed Van to a 7 track EP which was released on July 15th 2020.Already 2 singles are being played on NYC, Miami, Detroit and Latin American radio stations--- and MTV will feature ''Love Elastic'' in August/September.When asked about the core of his art, Van's response is;''My music is about self-mockery. I believe in the power of humor and dance! I glamorize everything--- especially my darkest sides, to make them look even more ridiculous. I tell you about my silliness, expose myself for the fool that I am in each song. Hopefully you will relate and laugh!! -- That’d be my greatest ambition; to help someone, somewhere take themselves a little less seriously. If I do that just a few times in my life; I’ll die a happy man!''

One Billion TreesIsn’t it time we re-focused on restoring our Planet in an attempt to undo what we stuffed up so far? There are a couple of key issues we (humanity) are facing:1) Loss of Biodiversity (and habitat) – the crucial balancing act that makes our planet operate; we live in a biological world, whether you like it or not; if you want to find out how this works: try not going to the loo for a week and you’ll know all about it2) Carbon imbalance – Nature does not use fossil sunlight… it operates on current sunlight3) The idiocy of “economic thinking” with “growth at all cost” and “competition”4) The stupendous increase in Human population – all entering the rat race and losing connection with the operations manual of planet Earth. One Billion Trees – It’s a start and deals with the first two points. Led by Te Uru Rakau (the Ministry of wooden sticks) and encouraging land-owners to plant natives and exotics in a hell of a hurry for employment, carbon sequestration and to optimise land use (all easily measured in an economic system). Again: it’s a start! Project Crimson set up “Trees that Count” to measure the progress in the form of a self-reporting data base but only for Native trees planted. Its vision is to plant 200 million NATIVE trees (not pine trees on carbon farms that likely end up on beaches as “slash”)Trees that Count also created a “Market Place” https://grow.treesthatcount.co.nz/treepool where “funders” can buy trees and donate them to the “pool”, where planting groups can obtain them to enhance our landscape and biodiversity.Funders can be you and me (birthday presents!) or huge companies that “get it” and want to assist in restoring our Aotearoa. From 2016 to April 2020 Trees that Count has logged 31.3 million native trees planted – not bad eh? Survival rates are not bad either, according to a recent report.Practical example of how all this planting works in the longer termThere are many examples I can use, but I prefer my own neighbourhood: the Halswell Quarry, here in Christchurch. When it became a quarry no more, people started planting whole areas of the quarry. Since 1997, we estimate some 150,000 native trees have been put in the ground and it really starts to show. The quarry is a fabulous multi-use “park” in South-West Christchurch City: mountain bike tracks, walking trails, conservation ponds with eels, fresh water mussels and breeding sites for waterbirds. Dog exercise areas are very popular, as are the picnic sites, coffee cart and the occasional outdoor events in the quarry site itself. Not surprisingly, this Quarry park was absolutely full of locals (and not-so-locals) during the lockdown! The local Halswell Primary school often has field days out, looking for insects, birds, historical topics and athletics events. There’s a group of enthusiasts that fly model aeroplanes on a roughly-mown strip near the horse riding paddock and orienteering is a big gig, judging from the number of secondary school students that look “lost” in the sheep’s paddocks. Bird watchers are becoming more and more common too. Predator-Free has a great impact too.For kids, coming close to sheep and their lambs (August/September) is one of those very first rural experiences of life. And planting trees on a sunny Saturday morning is a community activity that brings “generosity” and “good citizenship” back into the profile of humanity. It also teaches everybody that planting a variety of eco-sourced species, based on plant succession is the way nature reproduces itself in a forested habitat. The practical examples of these local restoration projects touch a heck of a lot of elements we need to bring back into education and social behaviour. For the past few years there’s a small group of nature nerds and bird aficionados who set up mist nets and catch the local avifauna to “band” them with a shiny metal ring. This is now not just a training ground for new bird banders, but also a small research project that tells us...

Dorothea Puente looked like the kind, neighborly grandmother anyone would want to live next door. The woman who had suffered through an abusive childhood was now in the business of helping those in the community who needed it. But what her neighbors didn’t know is that she was murdering tenants in her boarding house and then continuing to cash their social security checks. Eventually, she would be caught and charged with the murders of nine people and sentenced to a life behind bars. Until the day she died, Dorothea Puente insisted that she was innocent and that her murder victims died of natural causes.Check out the Mask of Sanity Instagram (@maskofsanitythepodcast) and Twitter (@masksanitypod) for more updates on upcoming episodes. Simon Shares Bankruptcy stocks are the new excitement in the US. Hertz in chapter 11 saw its stock price back at the levels from when it announced Chapter 11. Tsogo Sun Gaming (JSE code: TSG) results to end-March show debt at R11.2billion, more than double the market cap. EOH (JSE code: EOH) update says debt is being paid off quicker than planned. But it remains a long road for the company. British American Tobacco (JSE code: BTI) update sows solid DM demand but reduced EM demand. Hyprop JSE code: HYP) update details foot traffic and open rates with their malls between 67% (Hyde Park Corner) and 97% (Atterbury Value Mart). In large part, the number depends on the number of sit down restaurants. Foot traffic was down 71% in April and in the first seven days of June is now only down 24%. Again this shows that April was very likely the worst point and that things are improving, but the last stretch of improvement is going to be the hardest. China's PPI down 3.7% in May. China is opening but exports are struggling as much of the rest of the world remains in lockdown with reduced demand. Upcoming events; 17 June ~ Trading 101: A traders plan 18 June ~ What it means to Invest Globally, Locally 01 July ~ The world after Covid-19 Subscribe to our feed here Subscribe or review us in iTunes The US goes back to work with 13.3% unemployment US unemployment came in at 13.3% (from 14.7% in April) as the US added jobs in pretty much all sectors. The expectation had been for further job losses and an unemployment rate closer to 19%. Perhaps the biggest miss ever. Now sure some funnies in the number, but they existed n the April numbers as well so net-net the miss would have happened. But what is important is that it shows the US economy opening up and bouncing back strongly, but perspective is still needed. Current US unemployment remains the worst numbers since the great depression with the 2008/9 financial crisis peaked at 10%. It is a long way back to single-digit unemployment and even longer to the sub 4% from the beginning of the year. The driver here will remain the pandemic and what we need to watch remains the rate of infections in the US with 14 states still reporting growing numbers. This could slow or even reverse the positive jobs data we saw. My thinking is that we will likely see the US unemployment rate improve further over the next few months with 10% possible by the end of their summer (August / September). My logic here is that lockdown saw millions at home and the lifting of lockdown saw many return to work. But what we don't know is how many businesses are still in business because a bankrupt business doesn't employ anybody. So while 10% is very possible getting below that number may be a lot harder and could take years. That all said the key point is that while nobody truly expected an improving US job situation this quickly it did happen and there is no point denying it. Instead, we adjust our expectations as expected data reveals itself. As important is to remember that while this was a massive positive number, it stills remains a massive number that shows an economy under severe pressure. Out of the tumultuous United Methodist General Conference of 2016 was birthed a renewal movement within the UMC called the Wesleyan Covenant Association. The WCA was founded on the principle of scriptural authority and traditional Wesleyan theology in response to the push of Liberalism within the church. Today, the WCA is spearheading the foundation of a new traditional Methodist denomination in anticipation of the General Conference scheduled for August/September 2021 in Minneapolis. Beth Caulfield is a founding member of the WCA, the President of the Greater New Jersey Chapter, and member of the Global Council, as well as an ordained Elder in the UMC appointed to Franklinville UMC and Newfield UMC in Southern New Jersey. Her insight as one who has been part of the WCA since its inception is invaluable, and her viewpoint as a traditional and conservative Wesleyan is unshakable and inspirational. Coach MK livestreams question and answer sessions each week on the Fitness Protection Program Facebook Page, The Fitness Protection Program YouTube Channel, and Twitch, simultaneously. Join us! They are a lot of fun, super informative, and anyone may ask follow-up questions during the live broadcast!   This week, we take questions about long runs, foam rolling, and the value of walking. Intro My hook is that "we are never talking about the running." And at my level, recreational running, we aren't. We are talking about identity amidst the pressures of Diet Culture and Hustle Culture, trying to claim space for ourselves in a sport that is also a hobby that is also a common attempt to rewrite a personal narrative. Most recreational runners I work with were not competitive athletes. Many don't think they look like runners despite logging 30+ miles each week. Most took up running later in life, after breakups or divorces or kids or transitions that can only be run through. My client base ranges from 19-86 with a mean of 51.   #WeeklyWins - 11:25   Runner Interrupted Carrie Senigen is graduating!! Associates in engineering technology. Jennifer Wolf has discovered that she really likes working from home.   Build Patricia Luna is happy to be seeing some improvements in both her pace and how she feels on the run. Robin Monique finished her very first avocado toast.  Huge with because she never thought she could go for 60 minutes. Jessica McMeyes has been focusing on keeping her heart rate down during her runs.  She is loving the fact that she feels good and not sick exhausted after her runs. Kristen Levithan is rocking the guided diy approach she is truly customizing the program and making it work for her where she is in her fitness and life. ReBuild Christine Lancaster ran a virtual 5k and felt great at a faster than average pace Renee Hahn ran a virtual 19.1 Stephanie Horman ran her fastest mile since joining fitness protection Any Scerbowicz had her first continuous run in months and got a full mile of running in. Amanda Blockinger Bailey did a great job listening to her body during her long run and honored what is was telling her rather than pushing through and risking injury Maintain Happy Birthday Susan.  Susan is running 51 miles for her 51st birthday.  She is also using her run to raise money for a reproductive health organization called all options.  Francine Scheller ran her 50 mile run and finished in under 12 hours. Jo Ambrosi nailed her 10k race!  She came in under her goal time and made negative splits. Nicole Wood YOLOed the NYRR Brooklyn half marathon and felt good enough to take a smiling picture at the end.  Carissa Hatlig completed a 4 hour run it was hard and she felt like quitting but she stuck with it and finished her run. Sarah Seeburg completes a 5k with her kiddos, and they admitted to having fun Questions    ReBuild - 26:57 Just starting back after an entire year away from running. In the last few months, I’ve become very dependent on Pilates, and love it. Right now, I’m doing online classes, 4 days a week. Doing your work in the morning, then pilates in the evening. Can I continue this schedule? I’m going easy in ReBuild, which means very very slow. Working on getting used to time on my feet. Starting to notice there are some pretty high heart rate caps for an old lady like me. I certainly don’t mind them because it allows me to run longer, but should I cap myself lower? I’m now 67. After a few weeks of this, I can run about 5 minutes without stopping to walk. That’s much better than what I was doing before! I'm trying to catch up by listening to ask the coach, and I just found the videos on the ReBuild facebook page! Yay! That answers a bunch of my questions. But, I listened to one a few minutes ago from March about a coach leaving. Did I screw up by emailing her the other day about problems? She was very helpful! Can you show me examples of the Tuesday strength: B stair calf raises, toe fall band walks, and B calf jumps. Are we doing the strength workouts twice through, or just once? Maintain - 36:40 I’d like to have the option to add runs on Thursday and Sunday in addition to the regularly scheduled runs. Should I use a lower heart rate cap on those days i.e 120 or 130 to make sure I’m not overdoing with 7 days per week? Hello Coach! Today's question is "Numb Toes". When I used to live in the tropics my toes would go numb when I ran. I moved to a wider toe box shoe and as I got into better shape and started running more miles in the problem mostly stopped. Living in the UK, I haven't seen this problem since, but recently I have started noticing it again. I am running in a new iteration of the shoe which may have a tighter toe, I also think it may be due to to heat as we have had a few warm days. But, I really wonder, could it be due to extra weight that has been gained in lockdown, or a change in diet, like maybe too much or not enough salt, or could it be to less training as I am basically living on 30 minute slow runs? Thoughts? Thanks as always. Kristy My question is about the rest day. I’m doing 75-95% of the Maintain plan as written every week, only modifying to shorten a run occasionally if I’m not feeling up to it. In these COVID Times I’m finding I need to move everyday. What is generally okay to do on the Sunday rest day? I’m not looking to add a run, but want to check in about long walks, easy bike rides, that sort of thing. Thanks! You have emphasized the importance of the combination of the Friday Stride Sandwich followed by Saturday long run. Why is this pairing important? In following Susan's terrific multi-day even this weekend she talks about putting her legs up the wall. Could you elaborate on how/why this is helpful? I’m new to the group. I just ran a virtual half. If I continue with the Maintain training schedule, can I really run a half marathon by the end of August/September just by following that schedule?   Build - 56:26 Are the daily prompts the best place to ask questions as we go? I follow the Training Peaks running schedule, right? But I don’t run on Sundays, so I swapped the Sunday run with another day. Am I going to be totally off from everyone in Maintain? I’m following the FB posts & what I’m doing isn’t always matching. Thanks! How do I adjust for increases in workout time on feet if I haven’t kept up with what was on the schedule the past two weeks? What are penguin kicks? Right now I’m not spending much time running because my heart rate is so high (above 140). As I continue to follow the program, will I be able to run more because my heart rate will go down a bit? Did my first avocado run this Saturday morning, no accelerators (easy effort by any definition - average heart rate was 105, peaked at 130). By the evening, my knees hurt quite a bit, especially with stairs. What gives? Hi Coach MK, If life gets in the way, and we can only get in four runs for the week, should we be prioritizing certain ones (drop an easy30 or cake walk, because they're easy, or a dog run because there is 2, or an avocado toast because they're not sexy?) What if we can only get three runs in? What are the important factors to keep in mind when buying a pair of running shoes? What should I do if my running partner has a very different heart rate than I do? Mine is always faster than hers. How can we train together? My feet keep cramping while I run/walk. What can I do about it? Hello Coach. I'm attempting to rebuild as I recover from injuries. Right now i'm walking with very little shuffling during mid run if i feel up to it. My question is if I feel a little twinge of injury coming back whats the best thing to do? I have a little knee pain and tendon pain in the left foot. If I feel it while out I always slow down immediately, but if my tendon is sore the next day should I skip or go anyway and keep it very very easy walking? or something else? I've also gained a substantial amount of weight during time off and quarantine. Not helping. So there's that too. thanks!!! During the warm up/cool down, my slowest jog still has a heart rate that hovers between 150-160. (As slow as I can go without starting to look like those crazy speed walkers whose feet never leave the ground), but I could definitely maintain that jog for a long time, maintain a conversation etc. It doesn't feel like a struggle. Should I be walking instead to stay HR

Ambitious.Blackstone Minerals is an ASX-listed junior, exploring the Ta Khoa Nickel Project in Vietnam, the BC Cobalt Project and gold and nickel projects in Western Australia. The primary focus is on Ta Khoa, which previously operated between 2013 and 2016. Williamson claims the previous owners sunk over A$130M into the project; this creates an obvious disparity with Blackstone Minerals' market cap, A$27M, which had been steadily falling away but has made a comeback in the last few weeks. The share price stands at A$0.14 today. Blackstone Minerals is looking to bring the project back into production and take advantage of the inbound EV revolution, by feeding the nickel concentrate into the nickel sulfate for the Li-ion battery industry. What's the big news recently? A deal between EcoPro, the largest cathode manufacturer in Korea, and second-largest globally, and Blackstone Mineral was announced. The binding share purchase agreement outlines a commitment for A$6.8 million at a 62% premium to Blackstone Minerals’ 30 day VWAP. EcoPro will end up with 17% of Blackstone Minerals shares. Looks like a smart piece of negotiation.Williamson thinks the market will take a while to process the significance of this transaction and is perhaps a little unaware of how large a player EcoPro is. Williamson sees EcoPro as the "perfect partner," and will reveal its value over time.Blackstone Minerals is on track for its maiden resource in June/July. This will be followed by a PEA in August/September. Williamson sees this as a catalyst moment where the market will realise just how much nickel has been left behind, and how economic the first ore body will be. The money will also be used to explore other ore bodies, but the main focus is to move all the studies through to a bankable Feasibility Study. Blackstone Minerals is fully funded to this point. The cost structure at the Ta Khoa Nickel Project is impressive; to put this into context, drilling costs A$60 per metre, as opposed to A$300 in Australia and A$500 in Canada. The nickel ore body itself is twice the grade that Blackstone Minerals was expecting at 1% nickel. Williamson describes this nickel as a "significant tonnage..." that will "deliver a 20-year mine."Williamson is currently conducting metallurgical test work in order to assess the potential monetisation of the byproducts (platinum, palladium, gold, rhodium, copper, cobalt) at Ta Khoa, but he is confident all the metals will be economic and add an extra 20% revenue on top of the nickel. What is the CAPEX looking like at Ta Khoa? c. US$100M for a downstream processing facility, plus additional capital to upgrade the concentrator. Williamson is confident Blackstone Minerals will "land below" A$200M total. Williamson claims this is very competitive. He also insists that EcoPro will not accept anything less than achieving production within 3 years. Will this additional pressure help or hinder Blackstone Minerals? What did you make of Scott Williamson? Is Blackstone Minerals in for 2020?
