In today's episode I'm chatting to Sarah Malcolm as she shares the story of Oscar's birth. Having been diagnosed with PCOS and told she may struggle to conceive naturally, Sarah was surprised when she found out she was pregnant. She was cared for across two different hospitals due to a heart condition that needed extra monitoring and found she didn't have as much time as she'd like to relax into her pregnancy as she had a crazy busy year getting married and renovating her new home. Whilst her birth didn't pan out how she had hoped or imagined Sarah feels grateful for the lessons she learned from the experience and honestly shares her struggles over the first few days postpartum. Find out more about Sarah here or on IG - @SarahMalcs @SerenaLouth www.serenalouth.com
Baby C turned the big T-W-O and we have lots to say about it. We also recap our first (traumatic) trip to the pediatric dentist, a sleepy parenting confession, how to simultaneously enforce rules and manners, and generally overanalyze any interaction we've had with our 2-year old toddler. Moms out there: let us know if you've ever been 'picked up' at a local spot. Come here often?!

Baby C is 21 months old and his parents have differing opinions about potty training and transitioning to a toddler bed.. They also wonder... does anyone else have a hard time keeping up emotionally with their toddler's mood swings? Also, is it inappropriate to mean mug another child at the playground? Let us know what you think @ProbablyOKParenting
What happens when your child's beloved pop-it toy is the talk of the town? How can we re-brand "mom-nesia"? Why is there really no perfect day-care situation no matter how hard you try to find one? Why is Brian a judgmental parent? All of these questions & MORE answered in this episode full of ridiculous tomfoolery. Baby C is 18-months old. Visit us on Instagram @ProbablyOKParenting
Baby C is 16.5 months old and he's on the cusp of a big language "explosion." Brian & Allison confess some questionable parenting choices to each other and review a section of the wildly popular book "Crib Sheet" by Emily Oster.
Baby C is 16.5 months old and Brian & Allison discuss more sleep woes, playdate expectations, unexpected delays, and most frustratingly: he's basically stopped eating! They summarize and discuss the "Food Fiesta" chapter of "The Everything Toddler Book" by Dr. Linda Sonna as they attempt to strategize! Bonus: Check out @ProbablyOKParenting on Instagram to see a picture of Baby C at the Library... He hasn't exactly taken to the magic of books quite yet...
Georgia & her husband, VJ, met in college and married in November 2019. They had plans to travel for a bit but after the world shut down 4 months after their wedding, they decided to start a family. She took a test one morning, threw it away, and came home later to find the slightest positive. She sent VJ out for more tests to confirm - they were having a baby! Pregnancy was positive overall and she stayed active throughout the entire pregnancy. She did learn that the baby was breached and while a c-section was not her plan, she came to terms with the fact.Georgia and her husband settled into a family of 3 at home, but Georgia could tell her mood was not improving after little sleep, silent reflux, and a hospital visit with her 6 week old for RSV. She continued to check in with her doctor between birth and the initial “6 week checkup” and could tell her depression was more severe. She switched medication and returned to work around 12 weeks, and noticed her mood improved from there!Connect with Georgia on Instagram here.Visit our website and blog: www.goldenhourbirthpodcast.comFollow us on Instagram here and hereFollow us on Facebook here.Intro Song by Carpathians (Donny Rodgers): https://carpathians.bandcamp.com/track/lavaman
Baby C is 15 months old, and Allison & Brian find themselves confronted with a lot of parenting decisions as they make they way solidly into toddler territory! How do we approach redirecting undesirable behavior? When to start thinking about potty training? What to do to help him sleep consistently? How to keep things interesting when it's 5 degrees outside ? Should we keep our child's hair & teeth forever? Listeners- please weigh in and let us know what you think on Instagram @ProbablyOKParenting !
This week, Liz and Caroline review what the jury heard about the death of baby C, described by one nurse as the smallest baby she had ever seen. It is alleged that Lucy Letby was close to the infant's cot and injected him with air causing his collapse, while her defence say she was not responsible and the hospital was not equipped to deal with a baby of his size.In this episode, we'll also hear texts Lucy Letby shared with a colleague after this night shift, as well as testimony from the prosecution's expert witnesses who say Baby D did not die of natural causes. Janie Burkett was born in Texas but raised in Colorado. Her background is in commercial real estate and network marketing. She struggled with infertility for more than a decade when she got pregnant with triplets in 2016. She, unfortunately, lost Baby C in the first trimester and ended up delivering the surviving 2 babies at only 28 weeks gestation. After just 2 weeks of life, her eldest twin, Bryce Joelle, caught an infection and passed away leaving Janie to grieve her firstborn child while being the caretaker for her surviving baby through 2 months of NICU stay. Throughout this dark time in their lives, God was more than faithful to the Burketts and used this tragedy to start a new business in restaurants called The Biscuit Bar. They now have 5 restaurants and 3 living babies. And Janie has since learned she is no longer infertile!
