Daredevil's protégé Blindspot is invited to a warehouse where a giant blood mural has been painted. He phones Daredevil and the pair investigate while the owner of the warehouse starts charging admission so people can see the twisted art.   When the mural gets desecrated by an address, the pair find another equally horrifying art exhibit made with inhumans. Daredevil has a brief interaction with Muse on the building's rooftop before Muse escapes. While Daredevil tries to get help from Medusa and the inhumans, Blindspot goes after Muse and finds his hideout and several hostages he plans to use in his next art piece. Blindspot frees the hostages and acts as a decoy to Muse so they can escape. Blindspot though is captured by Muse and before Daredevil can save him, Muse gouges his eyes out.   Ultimately Daredevil defeats Muse and gets Blindspot to a hospital, but the damage is done. Matt Murdock is left feeling very guilty he let his student be hurt.  This leads to a short 2 book story arch called the Seventh Day where Matt enters a church for the first time in a while and speaks with Father Jordan. The story is light on action but makes up for it with real character development will be our Spotlight story of the week.   Next, Matt Murdock returns to Father Jordan and the confessional booth and finally answers the question we've had all series – “How was Matt able to make everyone forget he is Daredevil?” as he recounts his final days in San Francsico in a story called Purple.    Not surprising it has to do with Killgrave and his purple children. Killgrave used a guard in prison to escape and upon escaping sought his children to elevate his power beyond it's already dangerous level. Two of the children show up a Mat Murdock's house just ahead of a hoard of crazed people sent by Killgrave to capture them. Matt locks them and Kirsten in a panic room and then incapacitates the mob.   Daredevil goes after Killgrave and upon finding him, the rest of the kidnapped children and his power-boosting machine, Daredevil can't keep from falling under the purple man's influence.  Killgrave toys with him asking asks Daredevil what exactly the worst possible thing he could do is. Daredevil suggests the Purple Man to have everybody, heroes, villains and civilians, wreak havoc upon the streets. When asked what he would do in this scenario, Daredevil simply says "nothing".  This outrages Killgrave which is apparently enough for Daredevil to break free of control and takedown Killgrave. As a thank you for saving them, the Purple kids decide to help Daredevil by using the device and making everyone in the world forget that Matt Murdock and Daredevil are one in the same. Daredevil returns home where Kirsten doesn't realize Daredevil and Matt are the same so he leaves and decided to use this free start to go back to New York and start over.  This leads us into the next story – Supreme. In it we see Matt Murdock and Daredevil team up take the fight against criminals to the courtroom. Daredevil, with the help of Luke Cage and Echo – stop the Munition Militia from blowing up city hall but are only manage to capture Simon “Slug” Slugansky in the process. It's then ADA Murdock puts his idea into motion – have Daredevil testify against Slugansky in court – without revealing his secret identity.   The defense team tries to discredit the red suit wearing Daredevil saying “anyone can wear a suit”. Daredevil proves he is the real deal when the Milita charge into the courtroom attempting to free they cohort. When the dust settles, Daredevil is able to give testimony and the District Attorney's office wins the now high-profile case.   Seeing how the decision could affect his business interests, Kingpin launches a two-part attack on Matt Murdock to see the case go away is it gets appealed to higher and higher courts. He hires a former lead attorney for Tony Stark called just “Legal” to represent Slugansky in court and hires Tombstone to take out Murdock when not in court.   Legal is able to get the verdict overturned in the New York Supreme Court – which angers D.A. Hochberg (Matt's boss) saying he needs to stop using New York resources. That causes Matt to reach out to Foggy for help – which is interrupted by a Tombstone attack. Matt uses his Daredevil skills to beat him and escape with Foggy and Foggy agrees to help. Fast forward 2 weeks and the case is being heard by the Supreme Court.  To Foggy's surprise, Matt confesses that he lost the previous appeals case on purpose. He says he needed it to come before the Supremes in order for the ruling to have true power. And while waiting to for the case to be called, Matt gets confirmation Kingpin was the one who hired Legal. While arguing before the Justices, Murdock imagines his exchange with them as a physical battle, and feels like he's getting beat up badly. In his rebuttal to Legal's opening statement he stresses the voluntary good that all citizens are obliged to do.   Ten days later, the court rules in Matt's favor, potentially changing the entire landscape of law enforcement. Matt calls Foggy and tries to explain why he needs to fight criminals both in the courtroom and in the streets at once. He reverts to his classic red costume. Meanwhile, In NYC, and enraged Kingpin punches out a window, and tells Wesley to turn to Plan C.  The year ends with a 3-book story called “Land of the Blind”. Matt learns Samuel Chung (aka Blindspot) is in China, so he travels there looking for him. Shortly after arriving, he's captured by Blindspot and put in a hole for what seems like several months. We learn he has gotten his eyesight back thanks to a deal his mother made with the Beast and the Hand. Sam wants to trade Daredevil's life for the life of his mother – which he does. Though he has a change of heart during their escape and the pair return and help Daredevil escape. Geburtstag seiner NATO. Der langjährige Generalsekretär bekommt einen Orden von Joe Biden, Selenskyj die wertlose Zusage, dass der Weg der Ukraine unumkehrbar in das Militärbündnis führt. Das verpflichtet zu nichts, solange es keine offizielle Einladung gibt. Aber es vermittelt der Öffentlichkeit den Eindruck, dass alles reibungslos und nach Plan läuft, auch wenn in Hintergrund Zweifel und Widersprüche zunehmen.Aber solange die Völker ruhig gehalten werden können trotz aller Einschränkungen und Opfer, die man ihnen für die Ukraine abverlangt, hat man immer noch Hoffnung, dass Russland vor der Ukraine kapitulieren könnte. Nach realistischer Einschätzung jedoch stehen die Chancen dafür schlecht. Diese Erkenntnis setzt sich auch immer mehr im politischen Westen durch. Die russische Armee dringt langsam, aber unaufhaltsam weiter vor nach Westen, während dessen Munitions- und Waffenlieferungen bei weitem nicht die gemachten Zusagen erfüllen und schon gar nicht den Bedarf der Ukraine, um diesen Krieg zu gewinnen.Als großer Erfolg wurde es da auf der Feierveranstaltung bereits gewertet, dass man nun doch noch ein fünftes Raketenabwehrsystem für die Ukraine auftreiben konnte, wobei eines davon aus den Einzelteilen verschiedener Staaten zusammen gekratzt werden musste. Die Abgabebereitschaft der westlichen Staaten ist offensichtlich gering; sie wollen ihre Systeme zu ihrem eigenen Schutz behalten. Anscheinend ist man nicht mehr davon überzeugt, dass die Ukraine die Russen aufhalten könnte, wenn diese weiter auf NATO-Gebiet ausgreifen wollen, wie man im Westen befürchtet.Die Geschlossenheit im NATO-System scheint auch immer brüchiger zu werden. Der Krieg will nicht enden. Er wird immer teurer, aber die Möglichkeiten, neue Finanzmittel bereit zu stellen, wachsen nicht in demselben Maß, wie die Kosten steigen. Mittlerweile müssen für die 155-Millimeter-Granaten, die Standardmunition der westlichen Artillerie, ein Mehrfaches der Vorkriegspreise gezahlt werden. Gerade eben hat die Bundesregierung "200.000 Stück Artilleriemunition im Wert von 1,31 Mrd Euro"(1) bestellt, also 6.500 Euro pro Stück. Vor dem Krieg lag der Betrag um die 1000 Euro.Trotz des stolzen Preises ist diese Munition nutzlos, denn es handelt sich dabei nicht um "sogenannte ganze Schüsse ... die sofort abgefeuert werden können"(2). Damit die Bundeswehr über tatsächlich einsatzfähige Munition verfügt, "sind über die beschlossenen Beschaffungen hinaus noch weiter Maßnahmen erforderlich"(3). Die Granaten werden also noch teurer werden. Hinzukommt, dass nicht alle 155-Milimeter-Geschosse mit jedem Geschütz dieses Kalibers kompatibel sind, obwohl es sich doch Munition nach NATO-Standard handelt. Die europäischen Mächte fühlen sich von Russland bedroht. Dabei war es doch gerade Russland, das mehrmals von Westen her überfallen worden war, nicht umgekehrt. Woher kommt die Angst vor der Gefahr aus dem Osten?Ein Standpunkt von Rüdiger Rauls.Geschichtliche TatsachenMit Vorgängen und Erfahrungen aus der Vergangenheit kann die Angst vor Russland weder erklärt noch begründet werden. Niemals in der europäischen Geschichte war Russland in jenen westlichen Staaten einmarschiert, die sich heute von ihm bedroht sehen. Die Invasionen Russland im Westen waren immer Reaktionen auf die Invasion westlicher Staaten. Eine russische Initiative zur Eroberung westlicher Gebiete hat es nie gegeben, höchstens beteiligte man sich an den Raubzügen anderer Staaten wie den polnischen Teilungen, bei denen Preußen und Österreich treibende Kräfte waren, oder aber dem Hitler-Stalin-Pakt zur Aufteilung Polens.Die Weltkriege sind die bekanntesten Beispiele von Invasionen aus Richtung Westen. Weniger bekannt ist die Beteiligung westlicher Nationen an der versuchten Niederschlagung der russischen Revolution von 1917/18. Nach der Abdankung des Zaren hatten die deutschen Militärs die Gunst der Stunde genutzt und ihren Vormarsch in Russland fortgesetzt. Nach dem Frieden von Brest-Litowsk mit neuen sowjetischen Regierung befanden sich große Teile der Ukraine, Weißrusslands und des Baltikums unter deutsche Herrschaft. Sogar das durch die russische Revolution unabhängig gewordene Polen führte 1920/21 Krieg gegen die Sowjetunion, um sich weitere Gebiete einzuverleiben. Aber sowohl Polen als auch Deutsche wurden von der Roten Armee zurückgeschlagen.Im Jahre 1918 landeten Expeditionsheere der Entente aus französischen, englischen und amerikanischen Truppen im Osten Russlands zur Unterstützung der Weißgardisten im Kampf gegen die Bolschewiki. Fernbank Museum will offer a vivid immersion into the science of color in the new special exhibit that will open in February. “The Nature of Color” will be on view at the museum February 11 through May 7 of 2023. A statement from museum officials said: “Our world is covered in color — it's woven so tightly into our lives that we rarely stop to question what it is and how it works. Where do colors come from? The new exhibit offers an in-depth exploration of the way color carries information in nature, including how organisms use it to find food, warn off predators and reproduce. The exhibit also delves into the use of color across cultures, where different colors can signal a wide range of meanings, impact emotions and ultimately influence the society around us. This fun and family friendly exhibit features models, cultural objects, media and interactive components that will invite visitors to play and experiment. Guests will be immersed in a kaleidoscope of imagery, interactivity and exploration and can interact with activities such as a “painting” on a floor-to-ceiling canvas using just their hands. They also can experience a colorchanging room, featuring a light lab experiment that provides the opportunity to combine colors to make white light. “The Nature of Color” also brings with it three displays that delve more into the specificities of color. ♦ “Feeling Color” allows guests to create different pigmented combinations to see how their creation affects their emotions. ♦ “Making Color” demonstrates the process of dyeing fabric and the history behind this process. ♦ “Meaning of Color” teaches guests how colors can create a shared identity and shows this through the color red and its use from cave art all the way to college sports. For those who have ever pondered the influence of hue on society — from guiding emotions and the way animals interact in nature to the history of color production — “The Nature of Color” aims to answer these explorative questions and showcase the ways that color ultimately influences every aspect of our lives, museum officials said. Another highlight of “The Nature of Color” is an installation of portraits by Brazilian photographer Angélica Dass, whose work showcases the diversity of human skin tones to challenge socially constructed racial categories and celebrate the beauty and diversity of humans around the world. Also featured is a red chiffon and organza gown by American designer Brandon Maxwell that was created specifically for the exhibit. Fernbank will celebrate the opening of The Nature of Color with a special family-friendly Discovery Day on February 11, featuring a range of activities that explore color, including a special demonstration with Fernbank's youth volunteers to creatively paint a life-sized bear model provided by Behr Paint. The Nature of Color is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York and local presentation is made possible by Behr Paint Company, one of the largest manufacturers of paints, primers, decorative finishes, stains and surface preparation products. “The Nature of Color” is included with general admission at Fernbank and with CityPASS. At the fourth annual Wreaths Across America ceremony held in mid-December at Lawrenceville's East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens, 350 veterans were honored as more than 150 people participated in a ceremony that included laying a fresh balsam wreath at every gravesite and reciting aloud the names of those who served. The commemoration was hosted by the Philadelphia Winn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a volunteer women's community service organization who for more than 130 years has promoted historic preservation, patriotism and education. The event included ceremonial wreaths honoring each branch of the military and also honored the nearly 95,000 POW/MIA veterans who have never returned home to their families. The wreaths, complete with red bows, were made in Maine for Wreaths Across America, whose stated mission is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach the next generation the value of freedom. More than 3,300 locations nationwide and abroad received veterans' wreaths for ceremonies. Among the participants in the local commemoration were the Georgia State Society, Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard and Milita, the Elisha Winn Society Children of the American Revolution, the Parkview High School Marines JROTC Cadets and women's groups and several Boy Scouts and Girl Scout troops, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW organizations. Special guests included Gwinnett County Commission Chari Nicole Hendrickson, District Three Commissioner Jasper Watkins III and Lawrenceville Mayor David Still. Colonel John Haynes, U.S. Air Force (retired), a resident of Lilburn, was the guest speaker. The National Anthem was led by the Philadelphia Winn Chapter chaplain Connie Rifkind and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by siblings Nick and Rebecca Hamrick, members of the Elish Winn Society Children of the American Revolution. The Georgia Society SAR Color Guard and Milita presented colors, performed a three-musket volley and played Taps to conclude the ceremony. Supporting the 11Alive/Salvation Army Can-A-Thon has been an annual school-wide tradition at Greater Atlanta Christian School for the past decade. This year the GAC community again came together in the fight against food insecurity in the Gwinnett County community and beyond by collecting 22,563 non-perishables, which were delivered to the Salvation Army on Dec. 2. Students from infant to 12th grade rallied their efforts for the past month in varying ways to accomplish their goals. Different incentives and competitions all spurred the number of cans to grow. On Can-A-Thon collection day, each school level's service and leadership groups lent a hand collecting, counting, boxing, packing, and delivering food. On-site at Salvation Army, the GAC Concert Choir serenaded volunteers with spirited Christmas music while student leaders unloaded boxes and presented the donations for the 11Alive/Salvation Army Can-A-Thon. Although Santa Claus has come and gone, there's still time for plenty of “Winter Wonderland” fun to be had at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands through New Year's Day. There are several holiday packages available at Legacy Lodge, the landmark hotel at Lanier Islands, including the Winter Family Fun Package, which is available for groups of two or four. Highlights include overnight accommodations, passes for snow tubing, carnival rides, ice skating and more at Margaritaville's License to Chill Show Island, and breakfast the next morning at Sidney's. After Christmas Day, the focus at Lake Lanier Islands shifted to ringing in 2023 with a pair of New Year's Eve events and accommodation offerings. The New Year's Eve Celebration is an adults-only package featuring overnight accommodations, two tickets to a party and dinner buffet in the Legacy Lodge Ballroom, dancing to the music of Moxie, an open bar during the celebration, a champagne toast at midnight, a New Year's Day brunch for two and late check out on New Year's Day. There's also the New Year's Eve Family Fun Celebration, which includes overnight accommodations, two tickets to the party and dinner buffet in the ballroom, dancing, open bar, champagne toast at midnight and two tickets to Lanier Islands' New Year's Eve Kids Party, complete with dinner, crafts, games, a movie and more. Esse é o Maconhômetro Política, um projeto do Cannabis Monitor de entrevistas com agentes políticos que mobilizam a pauta antiproibicionista nos espaços da política institucional. Está candidato a deputado estadual pelo PSOL. - Marco Smoke, que é ativista e defensor da maconha em todos os âmbitos, militante pela descriminalização e a distribuição gratuita do óleo de cannabis para pacientes. Ele se intitula um representante dos usuários de maconha no estado de Pernambuco e pretende ser um defensor aguerrido na luta pela regulamentação do cultivo e consumo pessoal. Está candidato a deputado estadual pelo Avante. Neste papo eles nos falam sobre seus lugares de fala dentro da luta antiproibicionista, seus vínculos com os movimentos sociais e motivações para adotarem essa pauta como uma das suas principais bandeiras políticas, além das suas perspectivas sobre o avanço do tema na sociedade e suas propostas concretas para garantir os avanços que queremos nos espaços institucionais.
