There's a lot to learn from Alex Bazzell's work ethic, approach to his teaching and the methods behind his messaging. For a guy who came up in the game playing college at UMKC and on to overseas ball, he had to find where he fit in the emerging world of pro trainers. As he recognized, the game was becoming individualized and he sought out Drew's guidance in entering the space. For what he found, working through adversity means zero excuses and a mindset progression of facing the truth. In all of his clients from Kyrie Irving to Carmelo Anthony, it was his special relationship with Kobe Bryant the really unlocked his greatest perspective. By discovering the dynamic of avoiding pigeon holes and opening up your creative mind, it enabled him to illustrate the path to rethinking the definition of yourself. This has led to great collaboration with players, following a plan and getting them to the highest level of performance, function and success.Presented By: Athletic Greenswww.athleticgreens.com/HANLENSubscribe to the Unseen Hours Podcast:Amazon: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/940ce627-1dab-4258-aa53-c4b576386bb1/the-unseen-hours-podcast-with-drew-hanlenApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-unseen-hours-podcast-with-drew-hanlen/id1627624652Google: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9yc3MuYXJ0MTkuY29tL3RoZS11bnNlZW4taG91cnMtcG9kY2FzdASpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3iFiip28V5rOHkPWcWhScK?si=8fb69efc3fd14326Follow Drew:Instagram: @drewhanlenTwitter: @drewhanlenFollow Unseen Hours:https://instagram.com/unseenhours?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

First of all, it's Mamba day, so we wanted to honor the Black Mamba by linking up with someone he had become very close with, Trainer Alex Bazzell. Alex came on the Jordan McCabe Podcast to to share some of his awesome stories working with Kobe. Alex had gotten close with the Bryant's over the last few years while he helped out training Gigi Bryant and the rest of the girls on Kobe's Team Mamba. He talked about how amazing it was to know them and see just how intense their love for each other was. He shared a lot of great stories. From Kobe waking up at 4am, to Gigi firing back at her pops, 12 and 13 year old girls practicing 5 days a week and even how Kobe told Alex he'd play him for $500k. Each piece was so amazing. I felt like I could listen to it forever. You gotta especially love how all the girls called Kobe, "Coach Bryant". Just a lot of great moments and memories that haven't been shared with the world yet. This week is Kobe week, so we honor and celebrate his incredible life. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by the tragic accident on January 26th, 2020.

Melanie Langston-Bazzell is one of the strongest people I have ever met. After a traumatic accident on a San Diego freeway, Melanie suffered major injuries to her brain and other parts of her body. There's no doubt she went through a period of depression, but rather than feeling sorry for herself, she decided to get active for the animals because she knew exactly what it meant to not have a voice. Darrell Bazzell serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at University of Texas at Austin. Two decades in public service taught Darrell Bazzell a few things. His experience working with governors and policy makers helped him navigate government and thus how to move projects forward in academia. “I think the thing that really carried forward was the ability to think broadly, to quickly diagnose an issue,” says Bazzell. “I understood how fiscal and administrative matters worked on a policy level. … being a creative problem solver is the skill that translated the most.” This week on the show, Bazzell tells of his work navigating the waters of shared governance in light of decision making and leadership. He shares observations to help new CBOs around autonomy and ownership, and how to learn your institution’s inner workings in an effort to get things done as your portfolio — inevitably — grows!

All in a Homeschool Day | Charlotte Mason homeschooling | discipleship | intentional parenting
Often as homeschool moms, it is easy to get caught up in making everything just right and eliminate all possible problems. Instead, Kerri Bazzell, a homeschool mom of three, reminds us that sometimes the journey is part of the lesson we need to learn. We also talked about her favorite books, how she loops back to read family favorites with her younger children, how she finds time to fit in reading as a homeschool mom, and how a special drink party can make Shakespeare or literature time more special. Two incredible power houses in their own fields joined forces to help parents writing the book, "Outsmarting Your Kids Online - A Safety Handbook For Overwhelmed Parents". I read this book in about two days. I know some of you could do it in about three hours. It's an easy read but more importantly it's got immediately actionable things you can do to help protect your family. Amber and Michael talk about the must do's, the need to do's and the should do's that can make an immediate difference in your awareness and knowledge of not only what is happening in your children's life, but what they are doing in their online environment. More importantly than that, you can recognize the hazards and dangers that might be knocking on their virtual door trying to get into their real world. Amber and Michael have shared their expertise in the cyber world with you in this book in a way that even the most tech challenged individual can get what they are talking about, relate it to your life and show you just how important the information is. Think you know everything there is to know? Think again. I've studied both Amber and Michael. I've listened to them teach, I've read their books, I've taken their courses and this book still taught me plenty. ABOUT MICHAEL AND AMBER... Amber Mac(Arthur) started her career in San Francisco and Boston during the dot-com boom in the late 1990s. As a strategist for Razorfish and Director of Marketing for an e-procurement software company, she spent four years in the technology start-up trenches. Amber left the start-up world to join Microsoft to build one of the first female-focused lifestyle portals. In 2006, with her brother, she started her own digital agency called Konnekt. The company’s first client was world-renowned business coach, Tony Robbins. Her company’s clients include Microsoft Xbox, Ford Motor Company, Tony Robbins, Canada Goose, Fast Company, PayPal, Canadian Blood Services, and many more leading organizations. In 2010, she wrote the national bestselling business book Power Friending (Portfolio: New York). Amber has keynoted more than 250 events around the world, in which she addresses the topic of business innovation and what it takes for companies to adapt and grow.
