In this episode, guest Jason Petrunik (also known as J-man), gives an inside look at the way he grew to become a truth sharer, encouraging others to freely express themselves on his show, “The Launchpad Podcast.” J-man comes from a 20-plus year career in entertainment as a former radio announcer and emcee at festivals and other public appearances.  He shares ways he was programmed before to “play the game,” some of which involved deception. Never intending to be “in the spotlight” as one opening more doors to free speech,  J-man has been moved by many of his guests including those injured by the vaccination, and others who lost jobs for refusing to take “the experimental jab.”  Dr. Julie Ponesse, a former ethics professor, who was let go from her university position for declining the vaccination, was one of his most memorable guests on his show: https://thelaunchpadpodcast.com/podcast/se07-ep01-dr-julie-ponesse-the-death-of-democracy/ Co-host Jim Gale also has been an inspiring guest on J-man's podcast, sharing his passion about Food Forest Abundance: https://thelaunchpadpodcast.com/podcast/se07-ep13-jim-gale-food-forest-abundance/ J-man believes allowing people freedom of choice–whether they take the vaccination or not–is what coming from a place of abundance and understanding is all about. He tries to see people's perspectives from both sides, knowing each has been impacted by their sources of information. Topics covered in this interview: –Stories of J-man's days in radio, when top-selected songs were picked way in advance of listeners calling in with their choices. It was later he realized how much he was “programmed” to deliver content. –The impact of David Icke, who in his book, The Biggest Secret, predicted years ago much of what is happening in the world today: (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=the+biggest+secret+by+david+icke&crid=3CZK5P16V1RO9&sprefix=the+biggest+secret+by+david+icke%2Caps%2C50&ref=nb_sb_noss_1) –The number of workers who loved their jobs, but lost them, because they  declined the vaccination.  Now, they don't want to return to a system that treated them “like a nobody.” –The injuries from receiving “this medical intervention,” including young people with myocarditis, which occurs when the heart muscle becomes inflamed. –The “sad time” of the pandemic that isolated people, but is now shifting humanity in a new direction. –The unlimited abundance of nature and its healing powers. –The power of collaborating to impact change as people “wake up” to the new world unfolding. – J-man's perception of Jim Gale and Food Forest Abundance: “You're more than just a mission, you're a vibe. And I love that abundance vibe in all the areas that you come from.” ABOUT JASON PETRUNIK  (J-man): Jason created “The Launchpad Podcast” as a porthole for personal development, covering a wide range of topics with some of the most influential entrepreneurs in the business/networking space and people who have performed at an elite level in their industries/professions. Guests have included  the likes of CCMA award-winner, Jason Blaine, Emmy award-winning broadcaster, Lisa Hillary, CFL All-Star and Grey Cup Champion, and "Downtown" Eddie Brown. He is also the co-owner of "Showcase in Petawawa,” which is the flagship trade show that runs every spring for three days, and has been around for two decades. It boasts about 140-plus vendors and attracts upwards of ten thousand people through the door to check out people's passions, products and professions.  Jason, who also has interests in real estate and the Airbnb industry, has been a small business owner, weight loss coach, fitness model competitor, leisure and travel provider, and dog sitter.  And, "YES!!"...he's just getting started! It was my decision. It was mine and I wanted it that way. And I was ready to move on. I was never going to get an ending like we had in 2011. I would never get the rollercoaster ride that was that season. And then march that into playoffs. Suitor retired from professional football in 1995, finishing his career with 47 interceptions, 19 quarterback sacks, and 551 tackles and he was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2011. Suitor joins ‘The Moj' to talk about his playing and broadcasting career, including Carson Graham and Simon Fraser University. ‘Four years at S.F.U., I played corner all four years. Got to meet guys like Jay Triano, he was a great basketball player as you know, but tried out for the football team and we were actually roommates for a year. I learned a lot about just approaching every practice and every day with great maturity from Jay'. Suitor transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a color commentator for TSN's CFL broadcasts. ‘What made the difference was that we had won in 89 and I just kept looking at my ring and I kept thinking, that's why you play to be part of a championship. And I've been able to live that and experience that. So maybe this opportunity it's time to take that leap and take the step into a new business and a new world and retire from football'. At that point it was the fast lane to varsity football and a full ride to the University of Florida. Under Urban Meyer he would win a NCAA Championship while earning All-American honors in track and field. While many people may know that portion of Rainey's journey - Chris takes the time to open up about much more. After a short NFL stint he has become one of the most prolific return men in CFL history. He is still writing his football story as he gears up to play this season with the BC Lions. Rainey talks about his early life in what is the most eye opening part of our conversation. When you consider what his starting point in life was, it is nothing short of a miracle that he ended up where he is. Just the fact that he has been able to buck the trend in how he was raised is incredible, in my humble opinion. If you like this episode please share it with someone who you think will enjoy it! This week I have the pleasure of bringing Mike Edem onto the podcast.  Mike is a Safety for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. He is a 2x CFL All-Star as well as the owner of Timeout Athletics here in Calgary Alberta. Despite the success Mike has had in his football career, things did not start off looking the best for him.  He had no college football offers coming out of grade 12.  While this alone is enough for most athletes to quit the sport, Mike focused on finding an opportunity himself.  He didn't wait around for schools to come knocking, he went out and found opportunities based off of ONE burning desire... To continue to play the game.  It was not about where he was playing, just about being able to continue playing.  Early in his college career Mike spent two weeks living in his car.  After a last minute change bringing him to McGill University, he didn't have an apartment.  However despite living in his car he continued to focus on the positive.  The opportunity to play post secondary football, and getting to put his pads on and go to work every day.  Such a great example of what can happen when your focus stays narrow on continuing to be able to pursue your passion. One extremely important takeaway from this interview was to understand yourself.  Straight from developing an understanding of how you learn best, to understanding your WHY for pursuing a passion, to understanding your needs and putting yourself in a situation where those needs will be met.  The better you understand yourself the better you will be able to create the life you are after.Thank YOU for tuning in to another episode of The Elite Development Podcast! A six-time CFL All-Star and seven-time West Division All-Star, Geroy was the league's Most Outstanding Player in 2006 after posting career-highs in both receptions (105) and yards (1,856). What we cover: “You cannot synthetically produce passion.” – Brent Johnson Part Two in a Three-Part Series Every once in a while, you have a conversation with someone who is legitimately hilarious. Legitimately insightful. And legitimately fascinating. And you want to bottle it and crack the formula and then multiply it and sell the patent. But since you can’t, instead you pop it onto the cyberwaves and you call it a podcast episode. Brent Johnson. There aren’t a lot of names in Vancouver that are more, or even as, synonymous with greatness, with leadership, and with humility than his. So of course it was my dream to get him to sit down and chat with me. And, because he’s as generous as they get, when I reached out to him, he responded in under two minutes with an all-caps ABSOLUTELY. Brent, just so you know: I am framing that email. Brent is about as respected an athlete as they come. The Vancouver Sun once said of Brent: “He is humble, polite and straight-shooting by nature. He was not a football player whose validation and self-worth were tied up in his job, or whose ego contained lopsided control over who he is.” As an 11-year key member of the CFL team The BC Lions, Brent has lots of shiny hardware to his name. He has two Grey Cup wins. He was presented with The CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Award. He’s been named a CFL All-Star more than once. He was the recipient of the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award. And, most recently, he was inducted into the BC Lions Ring of Honour, the highest honour they can give a player. But despite all of this, this is not a conversation about football. At least, not in the traditional sense. Of course it comes up – it’s the thread. But more than anything, this is a conversation about life. About vulnerability. About commitment. About what Brent identifies as “giving yourself over to something entirely.” It’s a conversation that is ripe with insights. He talks openly about what he sees as being his role as a dad when it comes to guiding the opportunities for his own young son. He talks openly about the loss of his mother, in a tragic car accident, when he was just 12-years-old, and how that event, in many ways, impacted him. He talks openly about the intensity of 5-years playing with Ohio State, his stint with the NFL, and ultimately his journey to an impressive career with the BC Lions. He talks openly about the “if onlys” – those events in all of our lives that make us pause and take stock. And more than all of this, it’s a conversation about what it means to be passionate – what does that look like, and how do we tap into it. Because, as he says, passion cannot be “synthetically” produced. It needs to boil and bubble and generate from deep within. This conversation is fast-paced and super-charged – because that’s what Brent brings to the table. He’s warm and witty and charming and, to be honest, when we eventually wrapped up three hours – yes, really – three hours after he arrived, I swear I was vibrating at a higher frequency for a few days after. Catch all three parts of this awesome chat, one where we continue the drill down into greatness and what that means to Brent. It just so happens, he’s got a lot of unforgettable thought-provoking perspectives on the matter. MJDionne.com
