Bill Gruhlkey and Roger Morris welcome Pastor Roger Beach of Riverside Cowboy Church (Nevada, Missouri) to continue our series "Your Identity In Christ," In this episode Pastor Roger Beach urges you to move from spiritual "milk" to "steak" by studying Scripture with other believers. Roger explains that your real battle is spiritual and that if you aren't influenced by Christ, you'll be influenced by Satan, so you must trust God to answer prayer and believe the first answer you receive is from Him. Using examples like praying through major purchases, he emphasizes letting peace "umpire" your heart (Colossians 3:15) and rejecting poverty thinking that keeps you from your calling. The conversation addresses faith and speaking God's Word (Mark 11:22–24), integrity in your words, and giving God glory for His blessings. Roger also references Jesus' words to Peter (John 21:18–19) and shares testimonies of God providing resources for ministry projects. #949. Can you have a successful career, a strong marriage… and still feel like yourself?Today, Kaitlyn sits down with Elena Cardone for a conversation that goes way deeper than “having it all.”From a traumatic moment at 14 that shaped how she showed up in relationships… to leaving everything behind to build a multi-billion dollar empire… Elena shares the mindset shifts that changed the trajectory of her life. They get into identity, independence, and what it actually means to be in a “support role”—and why she sees it as power, not limitation. Elena also opens up about why she doesn't bring relationship problems to her friends, the importance of doing your own internal work, and the kind of sacrifice it really takes to build something lasting.Plus—money. PS Dave Connett delivers an important message on Marriage, Money & Mayhem. 24th of May 2026
In this episode, Karl Bryan and Rode Dog riff about what truly motivates business owners, the mental models and frameworks that drive business growth, and how to keep both your coaching career and your client's businesses thriving for the long haul. Listeners get practical advice for marriage as entrepreneurs, lessons on why "no" is success, and a fascinating debate about profit priorities versus scaling. The hosts tackle both mindset and concrete tactics—delivering their trademark mix of humor and real-world wisdom. Key Topics Covered The Myth of the Status Quo as a Motivator Karl explains that improvement and "better than average" don't sell—people buy "new" and "next." Business coaches should frame offers and client conversations around transformation, not just marginal gains. Balancing Marriage and Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship is tough on relationships. Karl shares candid marital advice for business owners, highlighting the power of vulnerability, touch (both emotional and physical), and remembering that you must do your own personal work. The Power of Saying No "No" is equated to success and focus. Karl draws examples from Warren Buffett's philosophy and iconic companies, illustrating that strategy is about what you refuse to do—not just what you commit to. Ask Better Questions—Create Authority Great coaches ask the questions that drive self-reflection and responsibility. The four questions from Jim Rohn ("Why? Why not? Why not you? Why not now?") become coaching frameworks to unlock motivation and action. Reinvesting in the Business vs. Paying Yourself The classic dilemma of "I reinvest all profits to scale" is debunked. The Profit First method is championed—automatically pay yourself, just like you pay rent, to avoid burnout and maintain passion. Profitability Before Growth Scaling doesn't solve margin problems. Most owners want to chase revenue milestones (like $2M) but end up vulnerable. The message: build profit into the business at every stage, control expenses, and understand your numbers. When to Dig In, When to Pivot Karl urges seasoned coaches (and their clients) to dig in and take advantage of compounding in business and career, rather than chasing constant change. Endure the "boring" parts for outsized long-term rewards. The True "Wonder Drug" for Life and Business In the Zen moment, Karl reminds listeners that exercise (not a mythical pill) is the secret to longevity, mental clarity, and business strength. Notable Quotes "In a word, no. Improvement is not a powerful motivator—sell 'new' and 'next' for higher conversion." — Karl Bryan "No is success. Focus equals the things you say no to." — Karl Bryan "Business is hard on marriages. Enjoy the wild bucking bronco ride, don't fight the ups and downs." — Karl Bryan "When profit goes, passion erodes." — Karl Bryan "If it's not profitable at a million, don't assume it magically will be at two million—growth often eats into margins." — Karl Bryan "Success is the same movie over and over for ten straight years." — Karl Bryan "The drug you really need? Exercise. It gives you everything—energy, longevity, social connection." — Karl Bryan Actionable Takeaways Lead with "New" or "Next" in Your Messaging Frame your programs and marketing around transformation, not incremental improvement. Coach Clients to Pay Themselves First Embrace the Profit First approach. Build profit in as a fixed "expense," automating wealth creation and reducing stress. Get Ruthless About Saying No Define what fits your strategy—and cut everything else. Borrow from Warren Buffett and Michael Jordan: focus relentlessly. Use Better Questions to Unlock Action Adopt Jim Rohn's four questions. Coaching is about guiding clients (and yourself) from thinking to doing. Prioritize Margin, Not Just Revenue Goals Don't be seduced by heady revenue milestones. Keep a laser focus on margins, expense control, and profitability at every stage. Lean into Boredom for Compounding Results Long-term success comes from consistency and sticking to the process—don't chase shiny objects or pivot too soon. Make Physical Health Part of Business Coaching Model and encourage exercise for yourself and for clients. It builds mental and business resilience. From student loan anxiety to financial liberation through mindset transformation - and the brutal truth about why your salary doesn't determine your wealth but the quality and quantity of your work does, the Andrew Carnegie revelation that workers set their own income by going beyond bare minimum to broker deals and provide value 24/7, the student loan crisis phone call that revealed how one sister's crippling fear was solved in a single conversation by explaining income-based repayment plans where healthcare workers pay 10% of income for 10 years then get forgiveness, leading to her getting married and buying her first home within a year, and why that moment became the birth of Investing Tutor when a Google search revealed no one in America or the world held the title of "investment tutor" making it possible to become the first, while the real question becomes: why are people not educating themselves about money when Henry Ford said if people truly understood how money works there'd be a riot the next day, because people are so busy earning money they haven't taken time to understand how it's created and how it works, and the marriage analogy proves everything - people enter marriage based on what they saw at home without reading a marriage 101 guide, people enter friendships without studying relationships, and people chase money without understanding the financial system, leaving them trapped in the distraction of working for paychecks instead of building wealth through quality work, quantity of value, and strategic positioning in assets that appreciate over time. In this raw episode of Konnected Minds, host Derrick Abaitey sits down with Dr. Hans - the investing tutor - who dismantles the dangerous "get a degree, get a job, get paid" mentality keeping people locked in financial mediocrity, revealing the exact moment when a close friend's sister was paralyzed by student loan anxiety and couldn't imagine getting married or buying a house, when one phone call explaining that student loans are actually the best debt in America because you can get on income-based repayment plans where healthcare workers pay just 10% of income for 10 years then receive forgiveness changed her entire life, when Derek a year after that conversation she got married in a beautiful wedding and purchased her first home, when that experience became the catalyst for Investing Tutor because it exposed how many people don't know basic information about the financial system, when during that same week a close friend from Ghana called saying "Hans I just started a new job and I keep hearing stocks, stocks, stocks but I know nothing about stocks," when the shock of realizing people don't understand stocks led to a Google search for "investment tutor" and the search results came back with zero people in America or anywhere in the world holding that title, when that gap made it possible to earn the title of the first investment tutor in America. This isn't motivational wealth-building talk from Instagram financial gurus - it's a systematic breakdown of why Andrew Carnegie's revelation that workers set their own salary by quality and quantity of work dismantles the victim mentality that bosses control your income, why student loan anxiety can be solved in one phone call by understanding income-based repayment plans that forgive debt after 10 years for healthcare workers, why that phone call led to a marriage and a first home purchase within a year proving financial education changes lives immediately, why Googling "investment tutor" and finding zero results in America or the world created the opportunity to become the first and earn that title, why Henry Ford said if people truly understood how money works there'd be a riot the next day because the system is designed to keep people distracted earning paychecks instead of building wealth, why stopping at business class on your first flight from Ghana to the US and saying "this is where we should be sitting" is the mindset that separates those who build generational wealth from those who accept economy seating for life. Guest: Dr. Hans (The Investing Tutor) Host: Derrick Abaitey

Reflecting on her own early money talks with husband Tim (over margaritas at their favorite tequila bar), she lays out the keys to financial transparency in couples — from shared goals to individual autonomy.Next, Farnoosh unpacks several top money headlines:Tariff Rebate Checks? Flexibility is key.Juggling a Mortgage and Child Care Costs: She reframes child care as a career investment, suggests alternatives like nanny shares or Dependent Care FSAs, and advises delaying large home upgrades until expenses ease. Will My Teen's Job Hurt Financial Aid?: Unlikely, says Farnoosh. The FAFSA allows students to earn about $7,600 before aid is impacted. Still, she warns that assets in a teen's name can carry more weight than income.Farnoosh closes with a reminder that applications for her mentorship program close this Sunday — an opportunity for listeners looking to build a sustainable, personal brand. Have you ever been on a mission? Maybe you've served in the military and have been sent on missions full of intense complexity. Maybe your mission has looked more like having to find the correct brand of almond milk from the grocery store. Either way, mission demands a certain mindset. A laser focus on what you set out to accomplish, and a passionate loyalty to see it through to the end. This attitude of mission is exactly what we as believers in Jesus are called to carry every day. The intensity is high because the stakes couldn't be higher. People every day are dying, separated from the One who can bring them hope and life. As the Church we are called to carry the powerful message of the Gospel, to make disciples, and to lovingly care for each other as we push one another on to see the mission accomplished. I will be honest with you... It's not an easy thing... But you were made for it! Join us this weekend to finish up our "Seeing Clearly" series with a deep look into the mission before us. - Pastor Ben Main Passage: Matthew 28:18-20 For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49299627

Have you ever heard the statement that Jesus talked about money more than any other topic in the Bible? This is commonly stated, but is not exactly true. Jesus did talk about money a lot, but He usually was not really talking about money. He was usually using money as a topic to take a look at a deeper heart issue. We all know that money can have a way of dominating our life. The stress of not being able to pay bills, buy the things we want, afford a lifestyle that is comfortable, or the constant desire to buy something new. We live in a country with a debt crisis at the national level and on the personal level. So what does God say about money? Come join us this weekend as we study how our outlook on finances can have a major impact on our relationship with Christ. Key Verse - 2 Corinthians 8:9 (ESV) - For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. God is the designer of pure, intimate relationship. The character of the Triune Godhead reflects it, His closeness to Adam signifies it, the design of Eve reinforces it, and Jesus’ love for His bride, the Church, proves it. If close relationship is God’s character and design, let’s look at what He has to say about it! Key Verse - 'However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.' Ephesians 5:33 (ESV) For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49296461
Today's episode is about how the traditions of fear and law teach us to navigate marriage, money, and mystery–and how safe relationships and secure environments transform our distorted stories. You're in the right place if… Your marriage is good. You have a good routine. You even have date nights built into your routine. But if you're honest, even the conversations you share on date nights have become routine–and if you're really honest, you wonder if there's something better than a good routine. Your finances are in good shape. You've survived COVID, and the inflation of grocery prices has been noticeable to you but not detrimental to your family. You even give an offering at church and make a few charitable contributions to causes you care about at the end of every year. But if you're really honest, there's a thought buried deep inside that tries to come to the surface that says, “Playing it safe in the kingdom is different than playing it safe in the empire,”--and you're curious. Your marriage is not good–or you're not even married. Your finances are not good either. But you are on a journey of restoration. You're hungry for wisdom, not just another formula–or a better way to stick to a stale routine or false tradition. We've discovered a hunger for wisdom in our journeys of healing and wholeness. Wisdom is not the same as validation for what we've already known and are desperate to prove because we need to be correct. Being rightly related provides the safety we need to risk changing our minds. Join Doug and Janet in this conversation about marriage, money, and mystery in the kingdom of God and linger in these TAKEAWAYS: The kingdom is a safe place to do the real work of recovering from the empire. The kingdom of God is a wealth of resources, and we experience the benefits of these resources when we see them with the eyes of faith. Contemplation, creativity, and collaboration solve problems that tradition, legalism, and self-effort can't resolve. "When we are powerless to do a thing, it is a great joy that we can come and step inside the ability of Jesus." (Corrie Ten Boom) This is the power of grace. In the kingdom of God, we discover we have personal agency--and that gift gets lost in the empires of this world. Better than that, we find out we have the power of grace. God's agency is more powerful than our own--and we are abiding in Him, and He is abiding in us. "Mental health is a growing topic of discussion not only in our community and country, but around the world. Youth suicide rates are increasing, diagnoses of mental illness is increasing, and hopelessness is increasing. What is going on in our world? Is it a physical problem? Is it a spiritual problem? Is it both? This week we will be diving into a biblical view of mental health. We will briefly break down some of the physical components of mental health, and then take a dive into the spiritual foundation of having a healthy mind. I have gone down this road myself in my own battle with anxiety and depression. Through reading the book of Habakuk and great pastoral counseling I found peace in the Fear of the Lord, Faith, and Rejoicing in the trial. Come join us this week for a time of teaching, fellowship, and worship!" -Pastor Luke Key Passage - Habakuk 3:17-19: Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail, and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. (ESV) For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49290704
