Call all RVing enthusiasts! Episode 68 is what you've been waiting to hear! Host Hanna Schoenrock sat down with Derek Dunn to talk about his family's local business, Complete RV. In this episode, Derek, son of Kevin and Maria Dunn, talks about how Complete RV was started over 35 years ago and has remained local and in the family the entire time. Derek is a great storyteller--and not surprisingly, he loves all kinds of camping!Derek tells the story of how his dad Kevin started in the business and eventually decided to open his own shop in Denver, NC.  In 1998, at the age of 15, Derek joined the family business, helping with repairs and maintenance. Derek's mom Maria brought her extensive knowledge and talent of interior design to Complete RV in 2011. As the business has expanded, offering partial and complete RV renovations to the service line has provided Complete RV with the opportunity to serve even more customers by partnering with them to create their dream RVs.While Complete RV began with a focus on service and maintenance, the Dunn family has expanded the business model to include renovations, a fast-growing market and one that boomed during the Covid quarantine. People realized they could work and do school from anywhere, so they packed their bags, hopped in their RVs, and hit the road. The crew at Complete RV stand ready with experience and love for what they do to service your RV, maintain it, or glam it up! The Peacemaker's Path Jerry Zehr pt 2We see division all around us today. We are divided politically, socially, racially, economically. We are divided religiously as well. Even Christians are divided amongst ourselves in various denominations. And even denominations are divided. You have, for example, the Baptists, the Southern Baptists, Reformed Baptists, Independent Baptists – I could go on and on. The point being, with all of this division going on, is there any wonder we are seeing the turmoil in our society? We need to come together around commonality. We need to come together in unity. In order to do that, we must begin to TALK with each other, commune with each other and try to understand each other on a deeper level than just what divides us. My guest today has been on the front lines of doing just that. Jerry Zehr has served as a pastor and leader in interfaith ministries for over 30 years and has helped in creating four interfaith organizations. He is the author of the book, https://amzn.to/3gfLW3g (“The Peacemakers Path: Multi-Faith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality”) Why do you believe there is such division and polarization between different religions today? You also wrote a book titled, https://amzn.to/2Ur8giK (“Blurring the Lines”) that shares about your time working in the entertainment industry. How did that book and what you shared in https://amzn.to/2Ur8giK (“Blurring the Lines,”) shape what you are doing today and develop the content of your book, https://amzn.to/3gfLW3g (“The Peacemaker's Path?”) How did you begin the process of building the bridge amongst the other Faith leaders of various Faiths? Have you experienced any criticism from other pastors and ministers, Christian or otherwise, for the work you are doing in trying to bring together mutual understanding through your inter-faith work? Why do you think some people claim to be “spiritual” but not “religious?” Jerry this is all so interesting. I know God wants us to get along with all people. I believe He is blessing the work you are doing to accomplish that. I mentioned in the opening that you appeared on the “Johnny Carson Show.” How did that happen? How can someone obtain a copy of your book, https://amzn.to/3gfLW3g (“The Peacemakers Path: Multi-Faith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality?”) Is it available on Amazon? What about your book, https://amzn.to/2Ur8giK (“Blurring the Lines?”) If someone has a question or wants more information, or possibly wants to do an interview such as this? How can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? Folks, there is no doubt that the devil is doing his best to destroy our society today. And one of the main tactics he employs is division. You can see it every single night on the news. Jerry Zehr is doing his best to bridge those walls of division, mistrust, etc. in bringing together people of different backgrounds, different beliefs and different faiths. He is not doing this to magnify the differences, but to accentuate the commonalities, traits where we are alike. Amen! That is what this is all about, especially in this day and time in which we live. We need more of this and we need more organizations to embrace the work Jerry and others like him are doing. I highly encourage you to go down into the show notes below, click the links and get in touch with Jerry Zeher. Ask your questions – but more importantly, order your books! I believe this is one book you definitely need to add to your reading collection. In fact, order TWO BOOKS! One for you to read and one to pass out to someone you know whom you believe would be blessed by it. That's right, order two or more copies and be a sower. Be a blessing to someone else today! Amen! In this episode, Rhonda welcomes Ariel Kopac, the founder and owner of Harness Your Hindrance. They talk about money and the mindsets that keep us stuck. We all experience fears around money, and that fear is heightened when there is a significant life change, especially divorce. Knowing that you can call out the fear, face it, and not be manipulated by it, you embrace the power you have. We can be manipulated by fear, or we can manipulate our fear. The choice is ours. Women going through divorce need to know that they have the power to choose. Ariel's message to you today is: Whatever you decide, know that your greatest limitations are always those that you place upon yourself.  Listen to this episode and learn about some of the strategies that may impact your mindset around money.  Here are some of them: Whenever you focus on what you do not want, you are keeping your focus there instead of on what you do want.  Our associations are powerful and can be helpful or hurtful. Reframe money as a tool that you use.  You have to know your truth, so you can deflect the lies and stay strong and focused on what you want to say. You have to know what is your ideal and what is nonnegotiable. Take out time for yourself, figure out what you want first, and then go into conversation.   Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Ariel Kopac. Ariel is the Founder and Owner of Harness Your Hindrance.  Here's how Ariel describes herself: I am a mindset business coach, focused on empowering people to find and face the fears that are holding them back from reaching their next level of success. My professional background is in training and development for financial advisors. My curiosity for understanding what holds people back was strongly prompted there. My passion for tapping into the potential of a person has led to my founding of Harness Your Hindrance. I have studied personality assessments, neuro-linguistic programming, limiting beliefs coaching, and human behavior concepts to learn how to tap into the mind and maneuver mindsets. Clients have called me a "mental ninja" as we have discovered what was deep in their mindset, holding them back from pursuing what they want. Elizabeth talks about her divorce process, the things she did, and the things she wished she did differently. She also talks about her life after divorce. According to her, you are going to have tough days, even after the divorce, because you need the time to mourn your relationship. Elizabeth also shares about her life in a blended family and gives some excellent co-parenting tips. She highly recommends the book The Happy Stepmother by Rachelle Katz, which is very helpful and easy to read.     Elizabeth's message to the women going through the divorce is: Put your needs first and do not apologize for it, even if there are kids involved in the divorce. If you do not take care of yourself, and put your oxygen mask on first, you are going to suffer the consequences of that down the road, and ultimately, so will your children.  Here are some of her recommendations: You are in the stage of the process where you are thinking very emotionally. And you are making permanent decisions. Put your power team together that will get you through and help you realize that you are not alone.  And find someone you can talk to that is completely not involved and does not know all the people involved. You can picture something in your future, but it does not always happen. It is good to plan, but sometimes you need not be so strict with the plan. You have to follow your gut. Your kids are paying attention. They hear things, they pick up on things. If you have any frustrations do not say them in front of a child. That does not do anybody any good, and there are always two sides to every story. Get out of your ego.  Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Elizabeth Kay. Jesus is Everything Dr. Bruce Hartman pt 2Many people today are always striving to move up the next rung on the career ladder. Always trying to get more, do more or be more. But, what happens when you achieve it? What's next? How many would put on their resume that, they would leave it the corporate world behind and enter into their true life's calling – of serving the Lord? My guest today has done just that. Dr. Bruce L. Hartman, a former CFO for Fortune 500 firms, such as Yankee Candle Company and Foot Locker, he left the corporate world to follow Jesus and received his Doctorate in ministry. In a storytelling fashion, he gives practical insights on how to have a strong faith life and the power of Jesus. His first four books, https://amzn.to/3kijYa5 (“Jesus & Company”,) https://amzn.to/3hGk3Td (“Your Faith Has Made You Well”) , and about a year ago, Dr. Hartman was on our program discussing his book, https://amzn.to/3hGuB4R (“Spend A Year With Jesus”,) But today, we will be concluding our discussion of his recent book, titled, https://amzn.to/3xKkeCq (“Jesus Is Everything: Discovering It All When There Is Nothing Left But Jesus.”) To live our Faith, to openly serve and proclaim Jesus as Lord, as you say, to “live the Gospel,” – that requires courage in this current politically correct climate today. Does your book share how someone who may be struggling with sharing their Faith, how they can find the courage to take a Faith stand in the face of this kind of opposition? You share that following Jesus is simple to understand – but hard to be completely faithful 100% of the time. What should we do when we come up short and are now feeling a sense of “letting the Lord down?” In the first chapter of your book, you discuss “The man in the bed.” Can you explain this concept? You teach that Jesus is able to give us total freedom, if we are obedient. Doesn't that seem like a conflicting statement? Freedom versus Obedience? Dr. Bruce, you share in your book that Jesus is the ONLY permanent force in our life. How can someone use that type of relationship to move forward in this world which we find ourselves in? What with the COVID lockdowns, the protests, the political instability, etc. How can someone come to the place of just leaning on the Lord and trusting in Him? Before we finish today, I want to talk about your podcast for a little bit. Tell us about your podcast, https://brucelhartman.com/podcast/ (“A Closer Walk with Jesus.”) How long have you been doing this podcast? Dr. Bruce, this has been a fascinating interview. I do want people to know how to get in touch with you. If someone wanted to reach out, ask a question, etc., how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with or get more information? And your book, https://amzn.to/3xKkeCq (“Jesus Is Everything: Discovering It All When There Is Nothing Left But Jesus.”) How can they get a copy of your book? Is it on Amazon? Folks, Dr. Bruce Hartman's book, https://amzn.to/3xKkeCq (“Jesus Is Everything: Discovering It All When There Is Nothing Left But Jesus.”) Is a must read. In this book, Dr. Bruce Hartman uncovers the REAL JESUS – the man behind the religious legend. And, Dr. Hartman shares what Jesus wants us to accomplish with our lives as well. This book is written for real people, just like you and me, who are seeking answers to real life issues. And for those answers, Dr. Hartman is pointing everyone to Jesus. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for you to get a copy of this great book. Actually, you need to order two or three copies! Jesus is Everything Dr. Bruce Hartman pt 1Many people today are always striving to move up the next rung on the career ladder. Hartman was on our program discussing his book, https://amzn.to/3hGuB4R (“Spend A Year With Jesus”,) But today, we will be discussing his recent book is titled, https://amzn.to/3xKkeCq (“Jesus Is Everything: Discovering It All When There Is Nothing Left But Jesus.”) Let me ask you, when you were contemplating making the move from your corporate career and returning to school to earn Masters in Divinity degree and then continuing on to earn your Doctorate – what was the driving motivation that prompted you to make that kind of move? I know that, in your heart, you believe you were making the right move. What about your peers in the corporate world? What were their thoughts on what you were about to do and how did that weigh on your mind? You emphasize you are not a traditional minister. But you sensed the Lord was calling you into a form of media ministry. Can you explain that for us? What made you believe this book, https://amzn.to/3xKkeCq (“Jesus is Everything,”) was needful for this time in which we live today? To live our Faith, to openly serve and proclaim Jesus as Lord, as you say, to “live the Gospel,” – that requires courage in this current politically correct climate today. In this episode, Rhonda welcomes Amee Quiriconi. Amee is an advocate, business consultant, speaker, author, and the owner of Activity Girl, LLC. Amee has been divorced twice and has learned valuable lessons from each experience. According to Amee, divorce is emotional. We have to find space in our divorce process to breathe, to calm down, and to come back to the really hard decisions that we have to make when we are not amplified, and elevated, stressed down, and depressed. Here are some of her thoughts and recommendations: Support system is invaluable. It is hard to do this on your own, especially in a high-conflict situation. We have to figure out where can we get resources of people that are not in the swirl, in the perimeter of the hurricane, but are sitting safely and calmly in the middle. Divorce is hard. And if you haven't done therapy or counseling for the duration of your divorce, I highly recommend finding somebody who can help you with that because divorce is triggering a lot of things in us. Pivot, stop and think about what you're doing. Treat it like a business. We have to be able to evaluate what is the cost – emotionally, financially… and what is the potential of returning our investment. Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Amee Quiriconi, Business Consultant, Speaker, and Autor, the owner of Activity Girl LCC. Here's how Amee describes herself: Unfortunately, I've divorced a couple of times and had to deal with financial abuse before and during a divorce. My financial turnaround in my life was of the hardest things to do, but it happened. I am an advocate for women and their financial independence, even if happily married because you never know when life will happen, and you will need to support yourself (and maybe kids) all on your own. It's also important to examine our earnings record statement. We have to keep in consideration that when we get to retirement and calculate what is our taxable income then that's going to be part of it.   Tweetable Quotes “Social Security is only going to replace a portion of your pre-retirement income that average is about 40%, it's more of a percentage for the lower earning wage earner and less of a percentage for a higher wage earner.” – Bill Bush “It's thinking more clearly about your future income needs, because you are going to need income if you're still breathing at 85 or 87 or 90 or whatever, you know, you're still going to need a bill”. – Andy “And so, real quickly, just to reiterate on the early benefits you know if your full retirement age is 67, and you filed at 62 that ends up being a 30% reduction”. – Bill Bush   Resources Mentioned: Inside The Plan with the 401(k) Brothers -- Podcast Horizon Financial Group -- Website Horizon Social Security webinar info & registration   Contact Information:                        Bill Bush            Andy Bush

THE HIGH SIGN David Heeren pt 1The Day of the Lord, Armageddon, the End of the World – you can call it whatever you want. But it has been on the minds of Christians for almost 2,000 years. And more if you count the Old Testament prophets, etc. There have been numerous people over the centuries that tried to predict when the “end would come.” All failed. But many just, really, picked a date and built their narrative around it in order to gain influence over others. But, our guest today, has spent the better part of 16 years, I believe, studying the Bible and other references and he has written a book titled, “The High Sign: The Final Great Intervention of God on the Earth.” David Heeren has a life history of logical study of statistics. He is the statistician that created the system used today for rating basketball players and teams. Oh, and he created this back in 1961 while working for the New York Knicks – and it is still used worldwide today! Amen! He knows numbers. He knows facts. He knows how to put them together to develop logical programs that really tell the story. And he did that in this book, “The High Sign: The Final Great Intervention of God on the Earth.” First question, other than that brief information I just shared, is this. Can you tell us in your own words, “Who is David Heeren?” This is a very interesting book and I'm blessed to be able to discuss this theory with you. Folks, I'm telling you, this is a well-researched book. There is an extensive bibliography and almost 150 references in the index. This is not something that was just the result of a bad taco or something. You started down this path by seeing 20 images of comets are in the Book of Isaiah? And you have associated 25 major Biblical events centered around comets? Can you give us a few examples? And of the 25 events, 24 have already occurred. What is the one event left? You hypothesize that Noah's flood was caused by a comet approaching too close to earth. How did this result in a flood? You have also researched the links to a comet theory that, basically, provides convincing evidence that counters the geologic theory of an ice age, correct? How does all of this relate to Sodom and Gomorrah? And you also believe the plagues in the Book of Exodus were possibly caused by another comet? Folks, we are not in the business of naming dates. Jesus said you could not do that. BUT, we are in the business of “knowing the times and seasons.” And there can be no doubt that we are definitely living in the days the Bible calls, “the last days.” I urge you to get a copy of David Heeren's book “The High Sign: The Final Great Intervention of God on the Earth.” Go down into the show notes and click the links to order your copy of David Heeren's book today. Big money can be made in short-term rentals, but the properties don't have to be where you typically think of as a vacation home. Sometimes small-town short-term rentals are the sweet spot you need to succeed. On today's episode, we talk with Wendy Sweet on her short-term rental strategy and how you can find and fund a rental in today's competitive market. Short-term rentals like those you see on AirBnB or VRBO should be ran differently than a standard long-term rental. We discuss with Wendy how she invests and operate her rentals in small towns, how she analyzes potential deals and runs comps, the differences between a fix and flip and a long-term rental compared to a short-term rental, and the must have amenities and features you should prioritize at your property. Wendy also shares how to position yourself for success when it comes to qualifies for a short-term rental loan. Wendy Sweet has been lending money to investors since 2001 as both a conventional lender and Hard Money lender. In 2008, she along with countless others tossed conventional lending to the trash pile. She dug in by growing her Hard Money Company offering funds to the investors who were able to navigate the changing world of real estate. She and her partner who is also her brother, Bill Fairman, have been successfully lending money primarily in North and South Carolina to investors, rehabbers and builders. They now manage a real estate fund for accredited investors in addition to brokering loans for those with money to invest. Wendy has been a licensed real estate broker in both Carolinas since 1981 and her side gig is fix n refi short-term Rentals. Their goal is to guide and assist like-minded people to build their wealth allowing them to impact the lives of family, friends, and community by building wealth through a proven lending model in the Carolina's while providing strong returns for real estate investors. On today's episode, we discuss a ton with Wendy including: How to analyze a potential short-term rental Why a cleaner is such an important part of a short-term rental team Where to save and where to splurge when renovating a short-term rental How to ensure you will qualify for the proper lending needed for a vacation rental The sweet spot in short-term rental investing Books/Resources Who Not How by Dan Sullivan The Richest Man Who Ever Lived by Steven K. In this episode, Rhonda welcomes Attorney Dan Exner, Family Law and Divorce Lawyer, and the Founder of Exner Legal, LLC. They talk about mediation. There are some misperceptions about mediation. Mediation is not an alternative to the divorce process. And mediator is not an attorney that's there to advise people. Mediators are not supposed to give you any kind of direction - their role is either to find the middle ground or to figure out where there is none.  The one thing Dan wants you to know is: You need to be empowered with as much information as possible before you go down this path, whatever path you take. There are many good things you can learn from their conversation, and here are some of them: Internet is a great source of information. But be careful what you read online. Law changes from state to state, but procedures can change county by county, or even judge to judge. Even be careful who you are talking to because people can have completely different experiences than you. You are going to have to mediate if you have children and if you're litigating custody and placement issues. Mediator can be any person, but you want to choose an attorney, or retired judge, who has dealt with the subject matter because they have seen these cases many times and can give you the best option. Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Dan Exner, Family Law & Divorce Lawyer — Founder of Exner Legal, LLC. Attorney Daniel A. Exner has experienced the best education Wisconsin has to offer. He received his double bachelor's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Juris doctorate from Marquette University. Attorney Exner has practiced exclusively law affecting the family from modifying the current family tree to planning for legal needs in the future. His career started at the national family law firm of Cordell & Cordell where he focused on fathers' rights. He helped opened Sterling Law Offices and practiced there as a partner until the Fall of 2018, representing people from all walks of life. He is a member of the Wisconsin Bar, Illinois Bar (inactive), and Waukesha Bar Association. He is a member of the Foley Inns of Court. Here's how Dan describes himself: I am a family law specialist. I can say that because this is all I do. And I am focused on two main practice pillars: I really stress communication. That is important to me. And I do not tell my clients what they are going to do. I'll give you my advice, I'll tell you what is a good idea or what is a bad idea, but at the end of the day, it is your case, it is your judgment, you are the one that has to live with it. In this episode, Rhonda welcomes Ilyssa Panitz, a Divorce Journalist and Columnist. According to Ilyssa, too many times women act on emotions, and then when faced with a barrage of questions about money, finances, marital residence, and expenses, they come up short by not having any of the answers. It is crucial, vital, and imperative that women do their homework before serving their husbands with divorce papers. Ilyssa's message for you today is: You are going to be OK. You are going to land on your feet. You are going to survive and thrive. Here are some of her recommendations: Preparation is everything. Keep your emotions in check. It is a very big transaction and you have to treat it as such. You have to know your facts. Investigate, investigate, investigate. Set a new email address, your own bank account, get your own credit card, check your vehicle for a tracking device, get off your social media, do not put anything regarding your matter on social media, get Life360 app for your children… Put a team together. Your lawyer should not be your accountant. Find 2-3 people you like and have them work together. The team you hire works for you. Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Ilyssa Panitz. Ilyssa writes a daily column for Medium called: “5 Things You Need To Know to Survive and Thrive During and After a Divorce.”  Ilyssa serves as the Content/Editorial Producer for The National Association of Divorce Professionals. She is the Co-Host of “All Things Divorce” on Clubhouse, and the host of "The Divorce Hour with Ilyssa Panitz" on CRN (Cable Radio Network.) During her career, Ilyssa has worked at: CNN, MSNBC, 1010 WINS Radio in NY, WCBS-AM, New York-1 News, Westwood One, Star Magazine, Closer Magazine, Meredith Publishing and produced hundreds of Celebrity “At Home” photoshoots and sat-down with some of the biggest names in Hollywood for "exclusive" one-on-one interviews. Here's how Ilyssa describes herself: I love getting the scoop and telling people's stories, which is why I am passionate about my career and can't wait to tackle every new challenge! I am an accomplished journalist and field reporter/producer with over 24+ years of experience. My profession has allowed me to cover pivotal news and entertainment events including The September 11th attacks, The Tony Awards, The MTV Movie Awards, The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, and even travel with Hillary Clinton as part of her Senate Campaign's Listening Tour. During my time on the Hollywood beat, I have had the great honor of sitting down with many A-listers for an in-depth one-on-one discussion about their lives, the challenges they have had to overcome, and what motivates them to keep pushing forward. Every phone or in-person interview continues to provide me tremendous excitement. These precious moments are always a wonderful honor and a huge privilege. In this episode, Dr. Cohen shares about the trauma of divorce and healing from that trauma, and she gives some really good tips on how to process the anger. According to Dr. Elizabeth, your experience matters. And the only person you can change is you. Her message for you today is: You are immensely brave, you are immensely courageous, you are strong beyond measure. Here are some of her tips: Watch and notice the thoughts you use. And instead of saying: “My marriage is over, the relationship did not work”, consider saying: “My relationship came to its perfect conclusion. It gave me and my partner everything it was meant to, and now it is time to release it”. To process anger, allow your body to move through anger by listening to music. Do not talk smack about the other parent. You have the right to be angry, but your child should never be part of that. Your child has a biological need to attach to both parents. If you talk smack about the other parent, you kid will feel unsafe. - Dr. Cohen has provided for you a pdf file with some really good prompts on how to replace the words of anger with the words that can help you child. Contact Information and Other Resources Our guest today was Dr. Elizabeth Cohen. Elizabeth Cohen, Ph.D., is the CEO and Director of Dr. Elizabeth Cohen and Associates, a group private practice in New York City serving children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Cohen is a clinical psychologist who has over 15 years of experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders. The 14-week course teaches women how to heal, grow, and thrive after divorce no matter how difficult the process has been. A related membership program provides 1:1 coaching, expert support from divorce professionals, and an engaged community of like-minded people. Dr. Cohen received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University. As part of her graduate training, she treated clients at the world-renowned Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders in Boston, MA. Here’s how Dr. Cohen describes herself: I am an expert in the clinical practice of supporting people in their quests to navigate life’s challenges and thrive beyond them. My personal experience through the darkness and devastation of divorce led me to see that my expertise and skills as a PhD-level clinical psychologist could be a source of light in the darkness of divorce for others.
