Climb Channel Solutions Ireland, the specialist technology distributor formerly known as DataSolutions, has announced an expanded partnership with SolarWinds, a leading provider of simple, powerful, and secure IT management software, designed to accelerate new business in Ireland. Founded in 1999, SolarWinds is an American company that develops software for businesses to help observe and manage their networks, systems, databases, and information technology infrastructure. Serving more than 300,000 customers globally and with its international headquarters in Cork, the SolarWinds product portfolio spans observability, database, and IT service management. Building on successful partnerships in the U.S. and UK, Climb Channel Solutions Ireland is hoping to further strengthen the SolarWinds presence in Ireland and grow revenues across its net new and existing business, which aligns with the SolarWinds channel-first approach. Specifically, Climb Channel Solutions anticipates increased demand for the SolarWinds Observability solution. Available in self-hosted or SaaS options and powered by artificial intelligence (AI), SolarWinds Observability addresses a clear need in the market for a solution that closes the hybrid IT visibility gap. SolarWinds Observability enables companies to monitor their IT environment, including networks, on-prem and cloud infrastructure, applications, and databases. The solution boosts security, productivity, and efficiency by accelerating issue resolution, increasing automation, streamlining operations, and optimising performance. This allows partners and end-customers to maximise their IT investment while modernising and moving to the cloud with confidence. In addition to growing their collective business in the channel, Climb Channel Solutions Ireland and SolarWinds are aiming to expand their partner base in Ireland. With observability, database, and IT service management solutions from SolarWinds, resellers can better serve their end users. Such technologies help accelerate digital transformation and deliver value for organisations of all sizes and across every industry, from public sector bodies to large enterprises. To support the partnership and growth in Ireland, SolarWinds recently sponsored Climb Channel Solutions Ireland's Partner Edge event, which explored the latest technologies and trends impacting the industry. The partnership between the two companies, which is also being extended to the Germany, Austria, and Switzerland region, builds on the successful collaboration within the UK market over the past two years. David Keating, Country Manager for Climb Channel Solutions Ireland, said: "Just as it has been for Climb Channel Solutions globally over the past decade, SolarWinds is now a strategic vendor for Climb Channel Solutions Ireland. The Irish market represents a huge opportunity, and together, we and SolarWinds have the expertise to deliver real value to partners and their customers. By leveraging an award-winning, industry-leading vendor like SolarWinds, we hope to enable innovation not just for our business but within the wider ecosystem." Gillian Neligan, director of UK and Ireland sales at SolarWinds, added: "There is a great synergy between SolarWinds and Climb Channel Solutions Ireland. We have both achieved significant growth. DataSolutions has announced that it is officially rebranding to Climb Channel Solutions Ireland as the distributor eyes up expansion in key markets across Europe. Following the acquisition of Dublin-based DataSolutions in October 2023, Climb Channel Solutions is now focusing on its growth in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The group expects to generate 12% growth in this region during its 2024 financial year (FY 2024). It also anticipates 12-15% global growth in FY 2024, following a successful 2023 which saw it surpass $1.2 billion (approximately €1 billion) in revenues globally. This ongoing expansion will also be driven by mergers and acquisitions (M&A), with Climb Channel Solutions recently acquiringDouglas Stewart Software & Services, LLC ("DSS") in the US. Going forward, it will be focusing on Western Europe and the rest of EMEA as part of its M&A strategy. Climb Channel Solutions Ireland will be pivotal to the company's growth plans due to its success driven by longstanding relationships with high-performing Tier 1 technology vendors in Ireland - including HP Aruba, Check Point and Citrix. Furthermore, it introduced a number of new vendors to the Irish market earlier this year including SolarWinds, Quest Software and SmartBear. Together, these have enhanced the distributor's capabilities across the areas of cyber security, IT management, networking, and compliance. The company has also invested in a new ERP system and cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and data analytics, to streamline its operations and enhance its services for resellers and partners. As part of the rebrand, David Keating was made Country Manager of Ireland for Climb Channel Solutions. Roberta McCrossan also stepped into a new role as EMEA Marketing Director, with Brian Davis now serving as VP of Sales for the UK and Ireland, Kamel Kerbib taking up the role of Country Manager for France, and Patrick Van Arendonk assuming the position of Sales Director for Benelux. More recently, Martin Bichler was appointed Country Manager for the DACH region. David Keating, Country Manager for Climb Channel Solutions Ireland, said: "The merging of DataSolutions and Climb Channel Solutions has been a gradual process over the past year and the official rebrand now marks a new and exciting chapter for the business as we look to continue on our growth trajectory and expand further in Europe. "While there have been some new additions to our service offering, our success as a company has always been driven by our people and our resellers - who have been a great support over the last 30 years. As Climb Channel Solutions Ireland, that will remain the case as our experienced team looks to continue delivering outstanding service, innovating for partners, and driving business success." Dale Foster, CEO of Climb Global Solutions, added: "The integration and rebranding of DataSolutions marks a vital step in our growth journey and we are excited about the future. On that, mergers and acquisitions will remain a key part of our global strategy - enabling us to extend our geographic reach, add to the team, and bring in new vendors. We do have targets in mind, ones that fit into our overall plan and will bring value to the business, as well as our reseller partners. "Of course, we remain dedicated to our mission of creating an uncontested marketplace for emerging tech, along with delivering exceptional service. Our aim is not just to stick with what's proven and profitable today but to invest in and support the solutions that will shape tomorrow. By leveraging the expertise of our people, focusing on strategic partnerships, and engaging end-users, we will further solidify our position as a trusted partner in Ireland and further afield, thus propelling the business forward." Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives approved HR1, the Democrats’ sweeping election reform package. While many have focused on how the bill changes voting and voter registration, the bill also has major implications for free speech—which have largely gone unnoticed. Critics of the bill say that the disclosure rules open the door for intimidation and harassment of Americans for their political beliefs. Some also say that it subsidizes political campaigning with taxpayer money and thrusts piles of paperwork upon Americans who want to criticize elected officials. To find out what’s really hidden in the weeds of this nearly 800-page bill, I decided to sit down with David Keating, president of the Institute for Free Speech. “It says ‘For the People Act,’ but… a more accurate title would be ‘For the Politicians Act,’” Keating argues. #davidkeating #hr1 #1stAmendment

DataSolutions, the specialised distributor of innovative IT and security solutions, has revealed the findings of a survey which found that a third of Irish office workers admitted they would leave their current company if not offered the option to work from home, either part-time or full-time, on a permanent basis. Significantly, the study – conducted by Censuswide in August 2020 and involving more than 500 Irish office workers – showed that 69% of workers are satisfied with the options their organisations are offering in terms of working going forward*. Some 39% of respondents will be expected to return to the office full-time, although less than a fifth (19%) have done so at the moment. Thirty-seven per cent of workers will be given the option of splitting their week between the office and home in the long-term, including 34% of those workers who only recently started working from home as a result of the pandemic Short-term success but planning is lacking The majority of workers believe their company IT strategy was implemented quickly (59%), was adequate (58%) and has been effective (50%) throughout the pandemic. However, 46% of those say their company needs to update its IT strategy for the future. Furthermore, 38% of organisations have not communicated their plans to staff in terms of a return to the office in the future. While 71% of respondents say their companies have invested in getting the office ready and compliant following the pandemic, more than half of organisations (60%) have not allocated budget to allowing workers to create a more permanent working from home environment. This is despite the fact that 50% of the employees in these companies have spent their own money on same and three-quarters of workers say their productivity levels are either the same or better when working from home than in the office. David Keating, Group Security Sales Director, DataSolutions, commented: “So far, Irish businesses have done a great job of reacting to the crisis and implementing the makeshift technologies they needed to get by in the here and now. But there is still a huge amount of indecision about the future, as seen by the fact that 38% of organisations have not communicated their plans to staff in terms of returning to the office. “While uncertainty remains in some respects, what is certain is that the normal we once knew is gone for good. Moreover, the new way of working that is being widely discussed needs to be enacted now with a well-thought-out strategy, proper investment and clear communication. “Companies need to ensure they are empowering people to work well from the office and at home with an effective IT model, underpinned by the right technologies and a robust infrastructure, that facilitates a hybrid approach and supports flexibility in the long-term. Too many companies are standing still at a time when they need to make decisions and move forward. Times are changing, therefore it’s time for change.” More about Irish Tech News and Business Showcase here. Strap yourselves in for our journey to the roots of David Keating's 2015 folk horror tale Cherry Tree. We are joined on this confusing (though often pretty) journey by the one and only Lizz Mazer who, as you may remember from the mini-episode, has some strong feelings about this here film. What are those feelings? Well, listen and find out! As a quick aside, this episode was recorded before our culture decided that the Purge films actually seemed like a good idea for a political strategy and turned our reality into a horror film of its own. As such, this episode can act as an escape from our current reality for you. But on the next mini-episode, Pierce and I are going to be talking not only about our next film, but about our current reality, what place horror has in it, and what the fuck you do once you've run upstairs and are now trapped in the house with the monster.
