Chimpanzees use medicinal plants for first aid and hygieneResearchers have observed wild chimpanzees seeking out particular plants, including ones known to have medicinal value, and using them to treat wounds on themselves and others. They also used plants to clean themselves after sex and defecation. Elodie Freymann from Oxford University lived with the chimpanzees in Uganda over eight months and published this research in the journal Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution. Why this evolutionary dead end makes understanding extinction even more difficult540 million years ago, there was an explosion of animal diversity called the Cambrian explosion, when nature experimented with, and winnowed many animal forms into just a few. A new discovery of one of the unlucky ones that didn't make it has deepened the mystery of why some went extinct, because despite its strangeness, it shows adaptations common to many of the survivors. Joseph Moysiuk, curator of paleontology and geology at the Manitoba Museum helped identify the fossil, and published on it in Royal Society Open Science A quantum computer demonstrates its worth by solving an impossible puzzleImagine taking a sudoku puzzle, handing bits of it to several people, putting them in separate rooms, and asking them to solve the puzzle. A quantum computer using the weird phenomenon of “entanglement” was able to do something analogous to this, which serves as evidence that it really is exploiting quantum strangeness, and could be used for more practical purposes. David Stephen, a physicist at the quantum computing company Quantinuum, and colleagues from the University of Boulder published on this finding in Physical Review Letters.Roadkill shows that most mammals have fluorescent furA researcher who used a range of mammal and marsupial animals killed by vehicles, has demonstrated that the fur of many of these animals exhibit biofluorescence – the ability to absorb light and re-emit it in different wavelengths. They were able to identify some of the fluorescent chemicals, but don't know why these animals would glow like this. Zoologist Linda Reinhold observed bright colours such as yellow, blue, green and pink on Australian animals like the bandicoot, wallaby, tree-kangaroo, possums and quolls. Their research was published in the journal PLOS One.Science suggests humans are not built for the information ageWe are living in the age of information. In fact, we're drowning in it. Modern technology has put vast amounts of information at our fingertips, and it turns out that science is showing that humans just aren't that good at processing all that data, making us vulnerable to bias, misinformation and manipulation.Producer Amanda Buckiewicz spoke to:Friedrich Götz, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia.Vasileia Karasavva, a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia.Timothy Caulfield, professor in the Faculty of Law and the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta, and was the Canada Research Chair in Health Law and Policy from 2002 - 2023.Eugina Leung, an assistant professor of marketing at the A.B. Patterson has created entire systems that can help recruiters improve their business and find the right candidates using AI. The host attributes his success in transitioning from an internal recruiter to owning his own search firm to DSP's content, training, and programs. The episode starts by highlighting the importance of sales and marketing in recruiting, and how understanding why people buy and how to influence and persuade them can significantly impact success rates. DSP recommends the Headhunter and Executive Community Facebook group for learning about sales, marketing, agency recruitment, and getting advice from veterans in the space. The speakers discuss the two approaches to sales - inbound and outbound - and how content marketing is beneficial for cultivating long-term relationships with potential clients (farming) and improving response rates to outbound sales efforts. They emphasize the importance of creating content that not only entertains but also educates and elevates the audience's thinking. The episode also touches on difficulties recruiters are currently facing, including job scarcity. Many recruiters use LinkedIn automations and generic content, creating a lot of white noise. However, creating original and incisive content that resonates emotionally with the audience can help recruiters stand out. The speaker shares his experience with writing a powerful article that resonated with a company's head of SAP group, leading to a big boon for his business that year. They also talk about Mem AI, a unique solution for knowledge management and productivity, and how AI personas can be trained to write in different copywriting styles. Finally, the speaker shares his latest program called AI Persona Genesis, which provides training for AI personas for different writing needs. By using AI personas, recruiters can create unique and powerful content more efficiently, spending less time on content creation and more on building connections with their audience. In summary, this episode provides valuable insights on how AI personas and content marketing can improve a recruiter's business, and how understanding sales, marketing, and people can significantly impact success rates. Recruiters can benefit from creating more emotional and polarizing content, staying up to date with industry trends, and exploring AI solutions to help grow their business. Could Metaverse be a Voice Assistant for Mental Health, Illness?

Guest Post by David Stephen If the metaverse was predicated on reorganizing how the experiences of mental health and illness are understood, Meta would [most likely] not have needed to cut jobs. If Alexa had pivoted to providing moment-to-moment explanatory mechanism of experiences by the brain for mental health, illness and addictions, Amazon would [most likely] not have lost much in market value. Metaverse a Voice Assistant for Mental Health? Mental order and disorders are top health concerns globally but there is hardly a clear lead in terms of the conditions for the experience, as given by the brain. The brain is an organ of experiences as well as of cells and molecules. It is this experience that is used to interact with the world. The mechanisms of experiences are an opportunity for the metaverse, voice assistants, towards changing the direction of care for mental health and illness. In the moment before using an illegal drug, what is the state of mind, during and after, what are the states of mind? Usually, the mind can be confusing to explain, but with digital yellow pages of experiential pathways in the brain, individuals and their loved ones can pick from a set, to understand what it might be, at any particular point. For all experiences in the brain, there are quantities that relay to acquire properties. It is shown that emotional pain and physical pain have similar pathways in the brain. It can be explained that pain is a property, its acquisition by a quantity is possible by physical input or emotional. The same goes for anger, irritation, emptiness, boredom, loneliness, thirst, cravings, extremism, lethargy, stress and so on. There are properties destinations in the brain, where quantities relay to acquire. They include what is traditionally called emotions, memories and reaction. They are all property sets. People in the same situations don't often have the same properties acquired by their quantities, neither does the same person have owns quantity acquire the same property in the same situation at different times. This is how the brain decides, conceptually, for mental health, illness and addictions. Quantities and properties are the build or construct of cells and molecules of the brain for experiences. There are two key sensory processing or integration centers in the brain: the thalamus for most, and the olfactory bulb for smell, before senses are relayed to the cerebral cortex for interpretation. It is postulated that sensory processing or integration is into a uniform quantity which is thought or its form. It is what becomes the representative, equivalent or version of senses to the brain. Interpretation is postulated to be knowing, feeling and reaction, as sets of properties also built or constructed by cells and molecules in the brain. This is the basis of experiences in the brain. Displaying or reading this out in each situation is a revenue opportunity and growth path for tech, amid inflationary uncertainty in the near future. David Stephen does research in theoretical neuroscience. He has a research experience in computer vision at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona. He was a visiting scholar in medical entomology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His writings explore the experiential mechanisms of the brain for human interactions with the world. Labor Economics, Layoffs: How Tiers can save Tech Jobs

Irish Tech News Audio Articles

Guest Post by David Stephen who looks at Labor Economics Tech work should be tiered, with the lowest tier for just 2-hours per shift, where the pay is considerably low, but output in that duration is sizable enough to match efficient productivity. The recent layoff in tech that many have said would continue through the new year is an opportunity to reorganize what it means to work in tech and for labor to be far more affordable. Labor Economics, Layoffs: How Tiers can save Tech Jobs There are already remote work, gig roles and well as freelance, but tier, with capped hours, pay and consistent intervals, for roles is a direction that could increase productivity and cut costs without layoffs. People can work for just 2 hours, in 3 shifts every 12 hours, making work and offs, 2 hours each. In that time, responsibilities via itemization and breakdown would likely be met, cutting out lost time during work, shared time with random stuff, distractions or multitasking inefficiencies. Those to take over can continue where the last person stopped, or can continue where they left from their last shift, but work and stop is to shape deliverables, to be underscored by the freshness or energy bump from the shift's break. Work is still mostly the traditional 8-hour shift, with pay and compensation at a level that makes cutting costs means to cut jobs, or outsource. Instead, with this new tier model, it is possible to have people work, pay them far less, and let them have breaks to rest or do whatever they choose, outside the area. This model can begin with tech jobs, but percolate to manufacturing, construction, small businesses and others, even as discussion of migrant workers and labor policies around the world are scrutinized. There will be people hired on higher tiers where they can work for regular hours, to design and coordinate work for the lower tier. The tier role will be arranged by software, to partition duties, contracts and chunking for tasks. There are regular maintenance and operation roles where 2 – 4 people can work on rotation within a day, spreading out what would have been for 1 person for a longer duration or 2 for the whole day. There are some cases the model will be applied, outside of tech, where lower than the minimum wage can be paid, by SMEs, just to reduce labor cost, while the intensity of what should become stressful is tapered. The other purpose of this is to explore free time, so that creativity and observations can improve, as an alternative to sole focus on assigned tasks, to see things differently, which could become helpful in seeking out new frontiers in the field, or for novel products and services to win competition. ATM Pay: Fintech for E-commerce Payment & International Remittance

Guest Post by David Stephen who discusses the concept of ATM Pay ATMs are an opportunity for a new channel of direct payment for e-commerce, online products and so on, to cover new markets, as well as open a new possibility for international remittance. There are lots of bootleg and digital piracy, in part because some who would have paid, have no easier channel to, or what they would have preferred to be a non-attached payment, is not a possible option. The better spread payments become, the easier it would be for those excluded to pay, rather than skip then seek out those products or services alternatively, without paying. ATM Pay: Fintech for E-commerce Payment & International Remittance ATMs provide a path for direct deposit to pay e-commerce, or say for products like digital news, books, application fees, Skype, Spotify, Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Disney +, Meijer, Carrefour, DIA, Microsoft, Google, Caprabo, Apple, Spar, magazine subscriptions, video games and so on. There is also a chance to do a limited form of international remittance at ATMs, where instead of international remittance with just P2P accounts, or agents, it is possible to do a direct means, just with ATMs between points. E-Commerce, according to Shopify, is $5.55 trillion global industry this 2022, yet it is stuck to cards, accounts, store and online payment systems, no direct deposit at ATMs. International remittance, according to a report by allied market research, was estimated at $701.93 billion in 2020, and is anticipated to hit $1.23 trillion by 2030, yet, it is stuck to agents, apps accounts, never directly with ATMs, with cash deposits and withdrawals, using small amounts and a token. Already, it is possible to do direct deposit for certain payments at ATMs for some revenue services. It is also possible to go to Walmart to pay with cash into Netflix, Spotify and Skype accounts. It is also possible to pay into an Amazon account, in stores, a maximum of $500. Mobile banking ATMs are ubiquitous across Europe and in other places, with deposit/withdrawal possible with or without card, in options as contactless, ‘cardless', where transactions use account based IDs. Most times, ATMs lay empty, with no users and rarely do long queues form at several locations, making them a great opportunity as a tool for payment for those who do not have or use their accounts, those whose cards cannot be accepted by some merchants because of location, those who have cards and account but prefer not to use for that purpose, emergency payment, alternative payment, security or fear of breach on certain websites, and so forth. How? An ATM application, connected to a network, allowing direct deposit transactions and instant payments, between individuals and merchants. Go to an ATM, convert a certain amount of cash into a number that can be used for payment online, or kept, within a timeframe. Also, deposit can be made directly into an e-commerce account or for subscription to a service, product and so on. To widen options, some can use their cards to do this at the ATM as well, but the market is direct cash. Though there is buzz about central bank digital currency, what seems like a necessity is convertibility and payment spread—in a new way. There is often the question of privacy, security, network vulnerability and penetration—across countries, but using obtained numbers to pay for stuff would be a new angle for a central stage for digital currency, with those numbers having value themselves. The system would be a set of alphanumeric digits, with parts of it representing value, possible use times, and a pin that the user could activate—at the point of obtaining it. These numbers can be up to 10 numbers and be made for acceptance for online sales, e-commerce, international remittance and more. It would bring those who use cash into possible digital payment as well as increasing options for subscriptions for some services to grow. ATMs are everywhere, so the DD pay application...

How Irish SMEs Can Lead in Digital Inclusion Innovation

Two hours workers earning less than the minimum wage can become a new pipeline for affordable labor for small businesses, if arranged by a digital inclusion innovation. Labor credit, where loans are used to pay workers directly at the end of each term, for the duration 2–4 months, can become a low interest special purpose facility, useful for SMEs that need workers in certain seasons for certain roles. Spending map, where pegs for fixed amounts are published to spend on food and transport, every month could become a new way to drive customers to SMEs, as well as ensuring that small business workers can see options for more affordable ways to live. Irish SMEs and Digital Inclusion Innovation Libraries, public and academic, have lots of business related books, containing vital knowledge on how to do business better. There is hardly time for many small business owners or managers to read, but there can be a digital inclusion solution, where shelves containing business books are divided to certain library members or users, where they have to flip the books and note things of interest, then to submit, so that it can be adjusted and sent as short messages to owners to learn how to do business better. One of the ways that many big businesses often survive is listing on the stock market, but many small and medium businesses—in many places—don't have this pipeline, taking away a possible means of growth. Though models like SPAC have helped some companies list, it is possible to have a digital inclusion solution that becomes SMEs Index on the stock market, so that certain medium stage businesses can list, possible within Ireland, and in several other countries around the world where SMEs can do better. There are medium stage businesses where they distribute or have a couple of branches or a large number of workers, they can align on an index, and be able to raise equity, to grow to make stuff, expand to new markets, while using their links to small businesses to boost more. This guest post by David Stephen explores new directions that Irish SMEs could power for the industry and for the rest of the world. SMEs: Global Digital Inclusion Innovation from Ireland There are several resources for small businesses, yet the failure rate remains high. Innovations for SMEs are not always right for many of them. For some, what they need is a simple text message on possible business direction. For others, it is how they can have access to a new marketplace. There are often tools, but the business environment remains competitive and unpredictable. There can be two pizza restaurants in the same vicinity, with similar standards, pricing and products but one gets the crowd and the other doesn't. There are observations that certain small business owners or managers don't make. There are also instructions they miss out on because they don't have access to business and management consultants. There are tips for them, but some are vague and general, not particularly applicable. There are several means that big businesses use in growing and excelling, but it is difficult for small businesses. To thrive, there are provisions they can use to cut costs, while maximizing possibilities for growth. There are some possible new directions, for SMEs explored, below. SMEs Labor Economics Model: 2 hours work, in 3 shifts within 12 hours, paying less than the minimum wage could become a new way to ensure that small businesses get all the workers they need in a way that is affordable enough not to strain the business. Labor costs are some of the challenges that small businesses have and options are limited, either not to hire, or to overwork those hired, or cut down on business possibilities because of fewer hands. There are several roles in several small businesses that do not necessarily require high skills. These roles are a key opportunity to provide workers on demand, in a new labor economics model that revolves several workers while allowing responsibilities to ...

Brain Science | Psychiatry—VR for Mental Health Diagnosis There is no test for mental health as well as for psychiatric disorders. Questionnaires and surveys are often used to assess conditions and intensity. Though helpful, they sometimes lead to misdiagnosis, overmedication, substance abuse, extreme behaviors and so on because surveys are not encompassing. This guest post below by David Stephen explores virtual reality [VR] as an option to test for mental health and illness, based directly on the two present elements in any condition: thought and memory. Can VR help with Mental Health Diagnosis? Thoughts are numerous, but often have different qualities at different instances. Thought status per experience largely decides what becomes of mental health. Displaying the order of thought, then directions of disorder would expose the mind, using those poles, for better designs to care. Neuroscience: Thought—Memory VR Display for Mental Health Tests Thoughts are not just elements for thinking. They are existential mechanisms the brain expresses for being. There is no separation between what things are to the brain and the form with which thinking is done. An individual cannot think about anything that does not exist as a form of thought to the brain. To think about the window is because the window is in the same form it is thought about. The window is a thought: worry, happiness, checking its state, cleaning, looking out through are all expressed as forms of thought, in decisions, what becomes known, how to understand, what to remember, expect, and so on. The how, what, when, which, where, who and so on of anything or anyone is because they exist as thoughts to the brain. Thought and its form is used for imaginations, dreams, predictions, inner voice, language, other people's voice, subvocalization, and so on. Thought and memory are the construct of cells and molecules of the brain for experiential interactions. The brain places mental health based on how thought transports across. There are problems of mind where thoughts are too fast, too slow, too repetitive or intrusive, too prompting, too scattered and so on. There are some also, like in delusions and hallucinations—where thoughts don't get to certain stores or locations, precluding them from limits in [social, cultural, economic and political standards] for interactions with the world. Thoughts can be prioritized or pre-prioritized, interchanges between both are numerous, but with prioritized, it is difficult to be neutral, because after thoughts [in stores] go across memory locations, they proceed to where feelings are, before reaction. Where do thoughts go to mean what is experienced? Do thoughts acquire properties as they go along? Some words hurt and linger, why? When there is sometimes no mood to work or study, there is a feel-like to scroll pictures or see videos, how does thought decide? Though there is the common allusion to reward or pleasure, but decisions are not necessarily for those. There are thoughts that can displace cravings, sleep, delight and so on. Whatever their molecular mechanisms, other things can overpower them, showing that they are all thought and memory constructs, under an overall placement prioritization. What rules do thoughts follow in the brain to give experiences? What is the universe of thought in the brain for complete existential consciousness—regardless of state? Neuroimaging does not show thought, albeit activity centers lighten up. What thoughts are, leaps a few spots, skipping steps and telling a slight story. Neurotechnology accesses a regimented segment of thought in the cortical areas for imagination and motor skills, but thoughts have an expanse beyond those. This presents an opening for VR with a conceptual model on the transport of thought in the brain, to show order and disorder to know where thoughts are when someone screams, smiles, is interested, uninterested, scared, biased, depressed, anxious and so on. It can also show ...

Brain Science: The Economic Opportunity of Global Mental Health

Mental health is a key economic opportunity for any country that provides something new and scalable towards care, internally and for the rest of the world. It is an era where things affecting the mind are confronted, to adjust or prevent their weight from causing further distress. There are several breaks by sport stars, musical artists, school off days, burnout support at work, therapy options, harm reduction programs and so on. There are adoptions of solutions like mindfulness, meditation and so on. Brain Science: Economic Opportunity of Mental Health Though mainstream, mental health still seems confusing because several things are linked to its problems and several others are said to be beneficial. However, in any mental state, what is present? For the present elements what are their rules? For those rules how do they make decision for OK, not not OK? The brain is the question to mental health but is also an answer, if what it uses to express mental health have better understood mechanisms. Global mental health and addiction care is still an open field for a country, to advance and provide for, in a fresh way striking out from general approaches. Two poles, thought and memory, present in every solution or problem of mental health can have their rules displayed as the architecture of mind, to position care. The country would have to invest, incentivize its companies and institutions to structure these elements of mental health and addiction experiences in a different direction from everything obtainable everywhere else. This guest post by David Stephen explores thought and memory as the constructs of cells and molecules of the brain, with how their destinations make determinations for the state of mind. Showing thought and memory relays digitally, based on a conceptual brain science model would become a necessary tool for care, while bringing revenues, from tokens back to the economy, leading the world in a vital area. Neuroscience: Rules of the Transport of Thoughts and Memory Everyone has thoughts. There are properties of thoughts—where they go or how that makes them different. Some thoughts are faster, some are heavier, some bear promptings, others are repetitive or intrusive and so on. Thoughts are the versions of things that are known. Things that can be thought about are in the form of thought, so they are used directly in thinking. Nothing is held in mind that is not thought or its form, including imaginations, dreams, inner voice, predictions, perception, memories and so on. Thought is also what the memory stores, since all sensory inputs end up for query if they are known or not. Something can be seen and known or not known. Something can be heard and remembered or not. The sensory pathway ends up with knowing, so that relating with the external world is easier. Though the brain has cells, impulses, molecules, genes, hemispheres, lobes, matters, and so on, the principal quality of the brain are the constructs—thought and memory—that make various determinations. The functional basis of the memory extends beyond information categories, to limits and extents in the brain—or regulations. It is what is normal that the brain or a memory function maintains, or seeks to, as signals are sent from areas of the body and back. Memory Structure for Experiences There are internal senses [interoception] and external senses [exteroception] all with representations in the memory. There is similarity with how the memory treats them all. Just like there can be forgetfulness of an information, it is possible for the memory to forget to give the limits or extents of groups cells or tissues, leading to problems in an area of the body. There are disease categories with severity, symptoms, stages, length and no symptoms, they often affect functions given by the brain—or memory Since bodily functions—located across the body—have representations in memory, affect to one can cause problems for the other, since they are on different ends b...

Guest post by David Stephen who shares his thoughts about a recent article by The Guardian , I'm a psychologist?—?and I believe we've been told devastating lies about mental health, describing how social, political and economic problems are responsible for mental health. There was striking paragraph in the article, “In efforts to destigmatise mental distress, “mental illness” is framed as an “illness like any other”?—?rooted in supposedly flawed brain chemistry. In reality, recent research concluded that depression is not caused by a chemical imbalance of the brain. Ironically, suggesting we have a broken brain for life increases stigma and disempowerment. What's most devastating about this myth is that the problem and the solution are positioned in the person, distracting us from the environments that cause our distress.” Neuroscience: The Brain Determines Mental Health Saying certain postulations about the brain are inaccurate does not mean having assumptions against the brain for its determination is accurate. The question is how does a political, social or economic issue get into the brain to affect mental health? At least, no matter the ‘environments that cause our distress' no one puts the environment inside their head to relate with or understand, so how does it get there? For those it affects where does it go in the brain, for those who use drugs, what does it alter, for those who therapy works for, how come? These are questions that could align progress, not the broad brush that circumstances are responsible for mental health when it is not the case for everyone all the time. Some people have faced worse, it was nothing, some have faced less, they could not handle it. What happens in the brain to make these determinations? The chemical imbalance theory found dissatisfaction, in part, because molecules are not the decision makers, they join in the construction for experiences. No one experiences serotonin, dopamine, neurotensin, or n-acetylaspartylglutamate and so on, individuals experience what those and others build. It is the same reason some people abuse substances. They don't do so for gaps within myelinated axons or neurolemmocytes, but what the brain expresses for them, in experiences—of better or worse. So while brain chemistry is not the whole picture, the brain is still the determinant of mental health. The question is how? What transports when a family is told to vacate an apartment because they could not make the rent? Or what causes intense distress when one is let go from a job? First, the message—written or uttered, became a thought. It goes to destinations in the brain where those are defined, then to where contrasts get felt, bringing an effect then a reaction. This means that any external situation becomes a thought version to the brain. It is this thought version that goes where stored thought versions are [or memory] to know how hopeful or hopeless the situation is in that time. When it leaves, it goes where feelings are expressed before reaction. It is also in the memory, where there are stores for internal senses that could make the thought [of disappointment] affect an array that causes some physical sensations. This build at different centers—by cells, impulses, sequences and molecules—of the brain become how mental health gets determined. If therapy or something else helps, it is that it became a form of thought, went to where thoughts are known [memory] to compete with whatever is causing the heaviness, irritation, and others, then gets the better of it. Mental health, this simplified by experience, holds a better chance for care. Mental health is circumstantial to the extent that thought and memory constitute. For the most part, nothing can affect mental health if thought and memory don't accede. The exploration would have been to seek out the functional basis of thought and memory in line with experiences, to display—as rules, for usefulness to people that this is where this went to make ...

Overview David is back (he first appeared in Episode 22) to give us an update on how things are going since we last talked. He's kept up writing, and has published a new book in his Project Adventure series, but hasn't had the breakout success. We discuss his new books and what he's been doing to market his current books. While he's had some success, he is still working to make writing a better career. How have things been? Well, thank you, [00:00:59] David: Stephen. I'm so glad to be here again, as you said, and that's great to actually see you this time. Things have been missed as good as they could've been a crazy time. [00:01:08] Stephen: Now, I believe last time we talked, your wife was commuting and you were living at the time. It was Madrid. Okay. [00:01:18] David: Pretty much at the time, but now we're actually, we're back to Munich, which is where my, my boys were born. My boys close to seven in a couple of months. So they actually started school 10 days ago here. [00:01:30] David: So that's on top of everything that's been going on lately. Uh, Yeah. Trying to figure out, figure it out a school in a foreign language and all that. So it's so yes, but since then, of course, many things have happened. And the part of the reason why we're back in back to Munich is because we don't, she's not, my wife is not commuting that much anymore. [00:01:53] David: There's no point. And then it just made more sense to be here because this is kind of know for many reasons that we consider those to be. [00:02:04] Stephen: Nice. Okay. So when we talked, you had written a book, one of your project adventure series, and you're working on book two. And in the last year, even with moving as your boys starting school, you've got four books out now. [00:02:18] Stephen: So tell us what's been going on in your writing to get four books in your series. The [00:02:23] David: short answer is I've gotten better at it. And yeah, the book one was a great learning experience and, but there was a learning curve to everything and inviting is no different than. Book one when it was really finished and out there, it just took so much, uh, and learned so many things that I had no idea I would have to learn in order to create. [00:02:47] David: So something as complex as a, as an actual book, as a self-published author, this is quite an undertaking. And, but then later on the actual, the act of creating books became super. All of a sudden creating books, writing and creating the covers and everything that goes into a book the front matter and matter, all of that stuff. [00:03:09] David: Description, teasers, you name it, all that became because I've set it up with book number one, and then everything, you know, over the subsequent books were just so much easier to make to Purdue and not just write writing has become even more fun because. Again, I now know more how to actually write a book, how to create an outline, how to, how to use a single idea, a single image of a, of an interesting scene and basically build a book around. [00:03:44] David: So it's been really extremely interesting to see just how, when you start working on something and start creating how it all comes around and how it fits into. All the pieces that kind of stuck fitting in really interesting. And it just gets easier then on the other hand, and we can probably have this as a whole different topic is what became much more difficult, which is obviously marketing and sales and all t...

I sat with David and Stephen, at a safe and social distance, in the yard of their flagship cafe' in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. @thehappypear They spoke to me openly about how Covid19 has given them more time to reflect on their values, their ideals, how they would like to shape their future and the importance of "coming home" They have two more book coming out soon, the shop is due to reopen sometime in the near future and they are still as energetic as ever, but with a great reflective sense about them both. Hope you'll enjoy it.
