Many of you know that a B'nai B'rith organization gave birth to the ADL while defending its Atlanta chapter president Leo Frank. Frank raped and murdered a 13 year old girl who he was also employing along with many other teens, against child labor laws. Leo Frank ran a pencil factory sweatshop and often flirted with his illegal underage employees. The ADL was formed to defend him when he murdered and raped Mary Phagan. The details were disgusting. Her underwear was ripped and bloody and she was strangled to death with a wire. Her head had also been pummeled with a pipe. She went to get her paycheck of a meager $1.20 and never returned home. She was raped and murdered and then her body was dragged to the basement. Police found strands of her hair and blood on the floor above right across from Frank's office. Frank nervously revealed the victims name in front of police before they had given him any such details. The ADL was going to get him released based purely on the fact that He was Jewish and a high profile crime made Jews look bad. Arguably a Jewish organization trying to get a child murderer off the hook, makes Jews look worse. They would like one to believe that he was innocent with fake news history and will tell you so on Wikipedia which has Israelis paid to edit it. Leo admitted on the witness stand to the jury that he was “unconsciously” at the scene of the crime when the murder occurred. What we don't know, is if he raped her before or after killing her. The grand jury voted 21 – 0 for indicting him. Four of those jurors were Jewish. That shouldn't matter, but it does because later the ADL would try to argue that the jury wrongly convicted him because of antisemitism rather than because all the evidence showed that he did it in everyone's eyes. He was convicted. After the Judge, Leonard Roan, rejected all the appeals, he ordered Leo to be hanged on his birthday April 17, 1913. However Frank who was unanimously elected president of the B'nai Brith Chapter again even after being convicted of rape and murder had one last method to weasel out. He with Jewish pressure groups, appealed to the Governor. The lame-duck governor, John M. Slaton, in a very Clinton-esk move, commuted Leo's sentence his last week in office. He changed it from the death penalty to life in prison.Frank was knifed in prison by an inmate who took justice into their own hands. William Creen used a butcher knife and cut Leo's throat severely injuring him. On August 16th a mob broke into the prison captured Leo Frank and took him 2 miles away and hanged him. Although they took photographs no one in town would identify them. Of course the ADL twisted the story to say that these men were motivated by antisemitism and not that they hated him for raping and murdering a child. To see Southern Justice click hereThe ADL would fight to have him given a posthumous pardon which he got in 1986. Fred Grimm of the Miami Herald said in response to the pardon, “A salve for one of the South's most hateful, festering memories, was finally applied” showing his own prejudice towards the South rather than admitting a well known exploiter of child labor, who raped and killed a young girl and was unanimously convicted for the crime and sentenced to death was killed even after weaseling a pardon by an outgoing governor. Fred Grimm is constantly chasing down and doing stories about “Neo-Confederates” and “Neo-Nazis” as if either one are some huge bane and influence in modern society. Ironically it is groups like Antifa who act like ISIS tearing down American Statues and assaulting people. Despite having entire cities burned civilian homes and all by Lincoln's terrorists, not once in 150 years has a Southerner attacked a Union monument. Yelling racism at everything is fun though because it exercises safe moral indignation. That the US recently invaded Libya and have caused a country to be run by Al Qaeda terrorists who have revived the institution of slavery, selling humans for $400 in the market, doesn't seem to bother these same people so much as statues of Confederate generals. Apparently the Union military generals like Custer who rode west and committed genocide on Native Americans immediately following the Civil War, or enslaving the Chinese to build railroads, doesn't count as racism either. The ADL itself was created with Jewish mafia money. With connections to Meyer Lansky, Moe Dalitz, Bugsy Siegal, and illegal arms trafficker Hank Greenspun. The ADL gave Jewish gangster Moe Dalitz the Torch of Liberty Award. Dalitz was partnered with Galvastan's Sam Marceo and his brother Rosario of international narcotic trafficking fame. Dalitz and Sam began with a bootlegging gig. And it was the Maceo brothers who with Dalitz financed the Desert Inn Casio (where Frank Sinatra got his first Vegas gig). Interesting note, Sam's sister Olivia married Joseph Fertitta. You probably know the famous former owners of the UFC Frank III and Lorenzo Fertitta. They're all “family”. Maceo died only a year after purchasing the casino and it quickly went into the Fertitta side of the family. Dalitz not only did business with Maceo, he ran with the Mayfield Road gang in Ohio who had a branch dubbed the Collinwood Crew nicknamed the Young Turks. This is a very fitting name considering that the ADL denies the Armenian genocide. They even fired a New England Director Andrew H. Tarsy because he broke rank and called it a genocide. See killing 1,500,000 people isn't genocide because nothing is allowed to compete with the Holocaust victimhood.Moe Dalitz at Desert InnDalitz was an early business partner with Abe Berstien of the murderous Purple Gang. They used to murder motorists for sport. That didn't bother the ADL. In 1985 they gave Moe an award. Moe would become the Mob Boss of Cleveland, even tough most of his operations would move and center on Vegas. His businesses however were all over the United States. Dalitz was not only a close confidant of Meyer Lansky, the two co-owned the Frolic Club in Miami. (p.6)The Desert Inn casino also took investments from convicted illegal arms smuggler Hank Greenspun, who was not only invested but became the publicist as well. He owned the Las Vegas Sun and pulled a money laundering scheme with advertising that was similar to what Boris Berezovsky repeated in Russia. Prior to that, he had been the publicist for another Mafia Casino, the Flamingo, which was run by Lanksy's childhood friend and murderer Bugsy Siegal. Greenspun's wife was given top honors by the ADL. Her husband attempted to smuggle 42 Pratt and Whitney R2800 LOW airplane engines to Palestine when the Haganah terrorist group was creating the state of Israel through ethnic cleansing. After jury tampering, with the sole Jewish Juror meeting with the defense, Greenspun and two of his cohorts William Sosnow, and Samuel Lewis were acquitted, but his other partners Adolph Schwimmer, Leon Gardner, Renoyld Selk, and Abraham Levin, were convicted. But Greenspun would be found guilty of smuggling the machine guns that would go with the planes as well as artillery and ammo. He stole 30 and 50 cal machine guns from Hawaii and shipped them to the Haganah in Palestine through Mexico. When he was indicted Greenspun tried to bribe his way out. He offered $25,000 to Seth Solomon Pope “or anyone else designated by Pope” to “quash” a second Neutrality Act indictment against him. Solomon worked in Hawaii at the War Assets Administration, in charge of decommissioning and selling off WWII surplus. He was most likely the original contact for the smuggling. The man was investigated three time for fraudulent sales. They also stole over 500 machine gun barrels. Reportedly Hank took an addition 10% Kickback from arms sales he made. A Grand Jury in Los Angeles indicted Hank and six other of violating the Neutrality Act and Export Control Law, Title 50 United States Code section 701 and Title 22 United Stated Code, section 452. However he got only a 10k fine and no jail time. Greenspun was paid through the SSE. The SSE was a front for the AJDC's Lishka which financed communist and Bricha illegal immigration. The Jewish Agency which was the government in waiting that organized the terrorist groups that formed Israel, facilitated the cash flow to gun runners like Hank. In “Concealed in the Open: Recipients of International Clandestine Jewish Aid in Early 1950s Hungary” Zachary Paul Levine, of Yeshiva University Museum writes.“The JDC-Israeli collaboration that formed around clandestine emigration to Israel and welfare to migrants filled the vacuum with the creation of two institutions. The first was created in 1952 by the Israeli government's Liaison Bureau of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or Lishka by its Hebrew acronym, which collected information and administered individual aid. The second was created in Switzerland in 1953. Known as the Society for Mutual Aid (SSE by its French acronym), this organization directed AJDC funds to the Lishka and represented Jewish aid providers' interests to communist governments” …”However, as an American organization at the height of the McCarthy “Red Scare,” AJDC administrators could hardly justify the appearance of sending cash or material into a state with which the U.S. was technically engaged in “economic warfare.” In March 1953, the AJDC and Lishka together established the SSE, a “paper organization” that “covered” the AJDC-Israeli partnership, and provided a means for regularized AJDC funding for Lishka from the Joint's Relief-in-Transit budget that funded activities that might have contravened U.S. law (Beizer 2009: 117). The SSE's Swiss chairman, Erwin Haymann, had years of experience channeling money from the U.S. for Bricha and other clandestine activities. Funds traveled through the SSE and on to Lishka agents who received U.S. dollars or another western currency and exchanged them into Hungarian forints on the black market in Vienna. Subsequently, these forints traveled via diplomatic pouch or in the suitcase of an apparent traveler to the legation in Budapest, whose staff distributed the cash around the country.”We learned from declassified FBI documents that Erwin Haymann, the same man aiding communist on behalf of the JA is who made three transfers of 1.3 million dollars to Greenspun. Greenspun would later become the Western Director of bonds for Israel. Haymann sent the payments to Banco del Ahorro, Mexico by cable.Interesting, because 1.3 million is exactly how much Moe Dalitz sank into the Desert Inn Casino, which Greenspun was a publicist for and invested in, what a coincidence. If you are into Kennedy Research here is a cookie for you. Hungarian Jew Tibor Rosenbaum is the bridge between Meyer Lansky, Erwin Haymann, and heavy Florida-Cuba crime syndicate. …But I will leave that tangent alone. Greespun was known for having blackmail on political candidates, Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy even plotted to raid on the Vegas Sun vault in order to gain access to blackmail that Hank had on Howard Hughes. Hughes by the way bought Mafia properties like the Desert Inn Casino using millions in cash. They credit him with cleaning Vegas up from the mob, it was more like the mob took him to the cleaners. Dalitz ironically started out with a cash only dry cleaning business.Kennedy whose father was involved with the Outfit and the East Coast mob and who had a love affair with his friend Frank Sinatra's ex-girlfriend Judith Exner while she was also involved with Chicago mob boss Sam Giacanna. Sinatra introduced her to JFK. Kennedy gave Greenspun a pardon his first year in office. I wonder why. LBJ likewise was sleeping with Mathilde Krim who was also part of the Swiss connection who help Irgun terrorist. Johnson did all this while she was married to his campaign advisor Athur Krim, a willing cuck. It makes you rethink Monica Lewinsky doesn't it. Well Clinton did give Jewish Billionaire Marc Rich a pardon, after Rich donated $100,000 to the ADL. Rich was yet another crook in the Swiss connection. These are the founders and reward recipients of the ADL. The ADL was given defacto powers of an intelligence agency in the United State and it gathers intel on who it pleases. It is anything but an Anti-Defamation League. They defame people themselves. The ADL under the cover of fighting Anti-Semitism, simply uses this cry as a club to chase down and censor anyone critical of Zionism or the Israeli state. If you point out that Israeli snipers are shooting children in Palestine from across the border, then the ADL can get you removed. Vimeo stole $5,000 in profits from me and erased six years worth of my work because of my criticism of Israel. When the ADL partnered with YouTube December of 2008, my channel was gone the first day, and over a thousand videos were erased. No justification was needed, simply the accusation of antisemitism. When I made a complaint in my appeal I learned that the ADL would oversee the case. Of course I never had my channel restored nor was I even given an explanation from YouTube. Another wing of the ADL is the SPLC and they too have been granted censorship powers across social media. The ADL used the SPLC as both an attack dog and a buffer to separate itself from ramifications of its constant chicken little censorship. In the rare case of actual antisemitic groups online or otherwise the ADL has been busted reacting to its own creations as the “Nazis” they screech about turn out to be their own provocateurs.Birthed to defend a murdering child rapist, financed by mass murdering terrorists and organized crime, narcotic peddling, gun running, psychopaths formed the pro Zionist organizational bully called the ADL. They have been caught spying through American police departments, spying on American citizens, and even coaching American police on what they should be on the look out for and how Hate Crime means anything Israel doesn't like. And this is their great online weapon. The Zog Media already refuses to report on what Israel is doing to Palestine, the Israeli role in orchestrating the Iraq War, and the Proxy War on Syria. People have been giving the information online. Naturally the ADL has been censoring such journalist all while screaming antisemitism. AIPAC bribes congress and the ADL censors the media. It is a one two punch to protect criminal Zionists interest. And now you know its criminal origins. This is a public episode. Robert Telles, the former Clark County Public Administrator found guilty of murdering investigative journalist Jeff German, will soon face his final sentencing. Telles, who was convicted in August for repeatedly stabbing German, faces life in prison with the potential for parole after 20 years. However, the final decision on his sentence rests with District Judge Michelle Leavitt, who will decide how sentence enhancements will impact the length of his prison term. Telles was found guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon against a victim aged 60 or older. The enhancement allows Judge Leavitt to adjust the minimum time Telles will spend in prison before being eligible for parole. This addition could extend his minimum term by anywhere from one to eight years, meaning he might face between 19 and 26 years before parole eligibility, considering the two years he has already spent in jail since his arrest. On Wednesday, both sides will have the opportunity to make their final arguments. Telles' attorney, Robert Draskovich, is expected to advocate for a lesser sentence, while prosecutors aim to emphasize Telles' lack of remorse. Throughout his trial, Telles has maintained his innocence, claiming he was framed and denying any involvement in German's murder. During the sentencing phase of the trial, German's family provided insights into the journalist's legacy. German moved from Milwaukee to Las Vegas to work for the *Las Vegas Sun* before joining the *Review-Journal*, where he made a name for himself covering organized crime and engaging in numerous investigative projects. His sister, Julie Smith, shared that German had an almost photographic memory, a keen eye for reporting, and a deep love for sports. German's brother added that even at 69, German had “no interest in retiring,” demonstrating a lifelong dedication to journalism. “Jeff was deeply committed to his work, to exposing the truth,” Smith said. “He loved his family, and he loved what he did.” Although Telles has consistently denied responsibility for the murder, prosecutors argue that the crime was motivated by German's investigative articles that shed light on Telles' alleged misconduct as a public official. These reports examined claims of workplace hostility and ethical concerns during Telles' time as Clark County Public Administrator. Draskovich has stated that Telles intends to appeal the case, although he did not respond to recent requests for additional comment. German's family and supporters are now awaiting the final sentence, which could keep Telles in prison for decades. His case underscores the risks journalists face when reporting on controversial topics, especially those related to public corruption and misconduct. Telles will have a chance to address the judge on Wednesday before his final sentence is issued. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? We can't imagine a world where humor isn't a big part of it. Let's face it, the world is a tough place and sometimes the only way to get through it is via a good laugh. We are thrilled to introduce you to Carole Montgomery, an incredible woman and storyteller. In this episode, we're talking about… Why anything to empower women is right up Carole's alley The real deal about parenting How Carole came up with the idea for her Showtime special, Funny Women of a Certain Age Why older women can do anything they want The struggle to get the boys club to let go of the status quo What it was like to be pregnant and on the road Why you can't take no for an answer Why women need to lift one another up instead of tearing each other down How cancel culture has impacted comedy “Not only have I rocked the boat, I've turned it over” “Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something because you are a woman or older.” “There is no better feeling than making someone laugh.” “If you tell me I can't do it, I say watch me.” More About Carole Montgomery hereCarole Montgomery filmed the show she created FUNNY WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE (featuring comic headliners over the age of 50) for the Showtime network. It's been almost three decades since the world lost one of the most influential rap & hip-hop artists of all time...the legendary Tupac Shakur. On the night of September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot while sitting at a car at a stoplight at the corner of Flamingo Road & Koval Lane, just east of the Vegas Strip. He died 6 days later at University Medical Center. The case has remained unsolved for the past 27 years and the circumstances surrounding the murder have been shrouded with uncertainty & speculation with multiple theories floating around on who killed Tupac. Joining me for this episode of the podcast to shed some light on the crime & peel away a few layers of the mystery is true crime author & journalist, Cathy Scott. Cathy is the author of The Killing of Tupac Shakur: Who Did It and Why? which is considered to be one of the best books ever written on the subject of Tupac's murder. At the time of the shooting, Cathy was working as a reporter for the Las Vegas Sun and she was one of the first people in the world to report Tupac's death. Cathy & I took a deep dive into the case covering everything from the timeline of events the night of the shooting, to the bungled police investigation, to recent developments in the story. Afternoons 3-6 on 105.9 The X Second hour of the Mark Madden Show Mark takes some calls before being joined by Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Sun to talk about the Knights trading Reilly Smith to the Penguins.
Welcome to my new Series "Can you talk real quick?" This is a short, efficiently produced conversation with someone who knows stuff about things that are happening and who will let me record a quick chat to help us all better understand an issue in the news or our lives as well as connect with each other around something that might be unfolding in real time. As many as 15 million people nationwide are expected to lose coverage as states check eligibility for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Thousands lose Medicaid in Arkansas: Is this America's future? More than 140,000 Arkansans have lost Medicaid in two months, most of them for procedural reasons. Poltico reporter Megan Messerly who covers health care in the states drove hundreds of miles around Arkansas to find out why so many of them are falling through the cracks. I gave her a call and pressed record. Megan is a health care reporter for POLITICO Pro, covering health policy in the states. Before joining POLITICO, Megan covered politics and health policy for The Nevada Independent. Megan got her start in journalism covering politics as an intern at the San Francisco Chronicle and a reporter at the Las Vegas Sun. Megan graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in English and Media Studies and was editor of the school's independent student newspaper, The Daily Californian. Like many other journalists, Megan traces her beginnings in journalism back to high school, where she was editor of her high school's magazine and yearbook. Megan was born and raised in Orange County, Calif. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, yoga and walks with her dog, Moby. Stand Up is a daily podcast. Let's get into it: NEVADA CURRENT: The Cowardly Lombardo. In his first public event since being elected governor of Nevada, Joe Lombardo refused to allow the Nevada Current and the Las Vegas Sun to cover what was billed as a victory speech. Shutting the Current out of his celebratory event was an extension of the Lombardo team's practice throughout the campaign – along with multiple Republican candidates nationwide – to refuse to provide campaign statements, notices of events, or other information to the press. The campaign told the Current Monday morning that they couldn't be allowed to cover the event because it was “at capacity for press right now.” Subsequent photographs of the event showed that statement from the campaign was patently false - with row upon row of empty seats in the sparsely populated high school auditorium where Lombardo gave his victory speech.Such mendacity from Lombardo and his team comes as no surprise. But most concerning going forward, is the prospect that as governor, Lombardo, his office, and publicly financed executive branch government offices under his purview, will refuse to provide independent journalists and other media organizations with public information.Lombardo's campaign presented its candidate to the public as an upright lawman of character, honesty, integrity and strength. But subverting the people's right to transparent and accountable government, and hiding from the press is just cowardly.COLORADO NEWSLINE: With Lauren Boebert slightly ahead in Colorado, the race to cure ballots is on.The extremely tight race between MAGA darling U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert and moderate Democrat Adam Frisch became a contest of cured ballots this week, as the two candidates worked to rally their voters and ensure every one of their ballots is counted. On Tuesday afternoon, the difference between the candidates' totals remained at over 1,000 votes: a narrow spread for sure, but still above the threshold that would trigger an automatic, state-funded recount. At the current numbers, if Frisch comes within about 830 votes, then a recount would be triggered.Vote tallies will change through the end of Wednesday as ballots continue to arrive from military and overseas voters, and as flawed ballots are “cured'' by voters. When tabulators reject a ballot, often due to a discrepancy between the voter's signature on the ballot and the official state voter registration records, the voter has an opportunity to resolve, or cure, the problem and have their vote count. The Frisch team is trying to win cured ballots this week by getting the word out to voters about the curing process, encouraging use of the state's TXT2Cure mobile phone-based curing system, and on-the-ground voter engagement.A Frisch campaign spokesperson said “A lot of the curable ballots tend to skew a lot younger, and others who don't have as much experience voting. We think that we probably will perform better among younger voters, so we think that probably there's more curable ballots for us than for Lauren Boebert.”The Frisch campaign also believes cured ballots from unaffiliated voters, not just registered Democrats, will skew their way. That sentiment was seconded by Matt Crane, a Republican who heads the Colorado County Clerks Association.Crane said. “Unaffiliated voters wanted to punish the hell out of the Republican Party in Colorado this year. And they sure did. It's probably a better pool for Democrats to go and try to cure unaffiliated ballots than it is for Republicans, just based on the way the election went.”A spokesperson for Boebert did not reply to a message seeking comment.Ballot curing must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, and updated results are expected to be available Thursday.Colorado law requires an automatic recount, also known as a statutory recount, if the apparent winner is ahead by 0.5% or less. During such a recount, the secretary of state's office would delay certification of the race and neither candidate would be declared representative-elect until resolution of the recount, which must be completed by Dec. 13.COLORADO NEWSLINE: Congresswoman Caraveo focused on healthcare and climate change. Yadira Caraveo, a Colorado state representative, stood at a lectern Thursday in the backyard of her childhood home in Adams County north of Denver. Her parents, who immigrated from Mexico and moved to the Denver-area home when Caraveo was in second grade, watched from a balcony as their daughter addressed reporters for the first time as the Democratic U.S. representative-elect from Colorado's 8th Congressional District. And the first Latina to represent Colorado in Congress.Dr Caraveo said “This hill behind me is where my siblings and I used to slide down and make mud piles, and the house behind us is where I spent many, many hours studying to get through high school, through college and through medical school,” Dr. Caraveo is a pediatrician in the community. She went on to say she was able to do this because of the hard work of her parents. The new 8th District was the state's most competitive based on previous elections, and unofficial results show Caraveo won by a margin of less than one percentage point. The district also has the highest concentration of Hispanic residents, at 39%, and includes the northern Denver suburbs, extending into parts of Weld County and Greeley. Caraveo said her top priorities in Congress include health care and climate change. She cited the obstacles she faced as a doctor trying to treat young patients.“The medical training that I had was not enough to beat the system that we had,” she said. “And so a lot of my effort is going to go into that system to make sure that it's not about insurance companies or drug companies.”Caraveo alluded to striking a balance on her environmental agenda. The 8th District includes parts of Weld County, which produces the most oil and gas in the state, by far .“We have a very important oil and gas industry that gives people like the families at my clinic great jobs, but I also see kids struggling to breathe every single day and I've had to send them to the hospital to be put on oxygen.” she saidThe Colorado delegation from Colorado that will join Congress in January will also include Democrats Diana DeGette from the 1st District, Joe Neguse from the 2nd District, Jason Crow from the 6th District and Brittany Pettersen from the 7th District; and Republicans Ken Buck from the 4th District and Doug Lamborn from the 5th District. The race for the 3rd District between Republican incumbent Lauren Boebert and Democratic challenger Adam Frisch is still too close to call.ARIZONA MIRROR: Republicans are falsely claiming that Arizona used to know final election results on Election Day.Republicans in Arizona and elsewhere have insisted that the days-long tabulation of early ballots, particularly in Maricopa County, is a sign the election might be being stolen. They're flat wrong about the history, however: Final election results have never been available on Election Night in any Arizona county. What's changed isn't anything about the vote-counting, but that Arizona has gone from a ruby red state where Republicans dominated most elections — to a deep purple state where races up and down the ballot have been extremely close. Those close races mean candidates, voters, pundits and the national media are focusing intently on Arizona's post-Election Day tallies. For example: in the Nov. 2, 2004 presidential election, the final results came on November 15, 13 days later. In the Nov. 7, 2006 midterm electionFinal results: Nov. 19Lag time: 12 daysNov. 4, 2008 presidential electionFinal results: Nov. 21Lag time: 17 daysNov. 2, 2010 midterm electionFinal results: Nov. 17Lag time: 15 daysNov. 6, 2012 presidential electionFinal results: Nov. 20Lag time: 14 daysNov. 4, 2014 midterm electionFinal results: Nov. 18Lag time: 14 daysNov. 8, 2016 presidential electionFinal results: Nov. 18Lag time: 10 daysNov. 6, 2018 midterm electionFinal results: Nov. 20Lag time: 14 daysNov. 3, 2020 presidential electionFinal results: Nov. 13Lag time: 10 daysNone of that has stopped Arizona GOP candidates and their allies across the country from crying foul about the process that has existed in the Grand Canyon State since the early 1990s, when Republicans here pioneered no-excuse early mail-in voting.Kari Lake, the GOP nominee for governor, has insisted that Arizonans knew the Maricopa County results and the overall result of their elections on Election Night - until 2020.Records from Maricopa County elections over the past 22 years show that has never been the case. Media outlets, like the Associated Press, might have called races in the past when election night returns showed that one candidate would clearly win, but the fastest the county has released final results in a midterm election since 2000 was six days, in 2002. In Maricopa County, a record 290,000 people dropped off their early ballots on Election Day this year. Elections workers didn't even begin to start counting those ballots until Wednesday morning. Before those ballots are tabulated, their barcodes are scanned to ensure that they came from a registered voter who hasn't cast another ballot in this election. Then elections workers check the signature on the envelope against past signatures from the voter. After that, a bipartisan team separates the ballot from the envelope and checks that the voter received the correct ballot. Once all those steps are completed, the county can tabulate the ballot. All the ballots have never been counted in one day.ROCKY MOUNTAIN PBS: Colorado legalizes psychedelic mushrooms.Ten years after leading the nation in legalizing the sale of cannabis, Colorado became the second state in the U.S. to permit psilocybin, or "magic," mushrooms. Oregon was the first state to do so.As of 2 p.m. on Nov. 10, data from the Colorado Secretary of State's Office showed the Natural Medicine Health Act — voted on as Proposition 122 — was on the path to a slim approval, with 51.6% of voters supporting the measure. The measure will allow people 21 and older to grow and share psilocybin mushrooms, as well as create state-regulated centers where people could make appointments to consume the fungi. The proposition will also create “healing centers” to give clients mushrooms in a supervised setting, but will not create "mushroom dispensaries," in the same way cannabis is sold and purchased.Proponents of the ballot measure claim mushroom consumption has helped address their mental health issues in ways traditional pharmaceuticals did not, particularly when the mushrooms were taken in small doses, a method called microdosing. Gov. Jared Polis has until Jan. 31 to appoint 15 members to the Natural Medicine Advisory Board, which will report to the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.CONCERT PICK OF THE WEEK: Next Wednesday, the night before Thanksgiving - The Last Waltz - with Warren Haynes, Jamey Johnson, Kathleen Edwards, and more. 1 Lori Vallow's son has been charged with sexual assault. Lori Vallow's son, who is 26 years old, was recently detained on sexual assault charges. KUTV-TV reports that in Maricopa County, Arizona, Colby Ryan has been charged with sexual assault. It is reported by KSAZ-TV that on August 31st, Ryan went to the victim's house to watch television with her before engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior. According to reports, the woman repeatedly tried to stop Ryan, but he ignored her. KSAZ claims in court documents that Ryan apologized to the victim and began to cry after the incident. Ryan allegedly acknowledged to having raped the victim on a recording made by the alleged victim. During an interview with authorities, he allegedly admitted to having sexually assaulted the victim. According to court documents, Ryan was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on two charges of sex offenses. Lori Vallow, Ryan's mother, has been charged with the murders of her two sons and the first wife of Ryan's father. In May, prosecutors asked for the right to seek the death penalty in the event that Vallow is found guilty of any of the murders. Tylee, 17, and J.J., 7, were reported missing in December 2019 after they failed to show up to school for the first time since September 2019. Vallow's first wife, Tammy Daybell, was discovered dead in her house in October of 2019. Chad Daybell and Vallow got married in Hawaii around two weeks after Chad's ex-wife was discovered dead. On June 9, 2020, authorities conducted a search warrant at Daybell's residence and discovered "what looked to be two sets of unidentifiable human remains," later determined to be J.J.'s and Tylee's. J.J. had a plastic bag over his head, and duct tape around his hands and feet; Tylee had been burned and mutilated, according to reports. Tammy Daybell, Chad's first wife, died of asphyxiation. The trial against Vallow is set to begin on October 11. 2 Authorities in Las Vegas make an arrest in the murder of an investigative journalist. Authorities in Las Vegas have arrested a county official in connection with the murder of reporter Jeff German. A seasoned reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal named German was found stabbed to death at roughly 10:30 a.m. September 3rd, outside his Las Vegas home. Investigators executed search warrants on Wednesday in connection with the slaying, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the news to PEOPLE. The house of Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles was reportedly searched in accordance with the search warrant, as reported by the Review-Journal. When asked, police officials declined to validate the Review-account. Journal's Officer Lawrence Hadfield tells PEOPLE, "I can't confirm any suspect information at this time." "The probe is progressing at a breakneck pace." A number of media outlets are reporting that Telles was taken into custody on Wednesday. Sasha Loftis, a reporter for the Las Vegas CBS affiliate 8 News Now, was on the scene at Telles' home and Tweeted minute-by-minute updates. Loftis described how residents were urged to leave their homes "or not return back in the area" when police and SWAT troops arrived. She also showed footage of police and fire vehicles rushing to the scene. Loftis then tweeted that Telles had been brought to the hospital with "non-life threatening self-inflicted wounds." At the time, 8 News Now reporter Vanessa Murphy had confirmed the arrest of Telles from anonymous sources. The Review-Journal reports that German, 69, complained to HR that Telles had a hostile work environment and engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. After German's article came out in June, the democratic candidate Telles lost his re-election campaign. The Review-Journal claims that German was finishing up a follow-up report when he tragically passed away. Telles regularly complained about German on Twitter. A rustling in the trash prompted his wife to ask, "Honey, is there a wild animal in the trash?" He responded, "No, darling. Looks like it's @JGermanRJ digging through our trash for his 4th article on me." "Oh, Jeff... [laughing Emoji] @LVRJ#LasVegas." Telles joked that he had thrown away pizza and sushi, and then he described German as a "classic bully," adding, "Can't take a pound of critism [sic] after flinging 100 pounds of BS. Up to article #4 now. You'd think he'd have better things to do." The suspect and a red or maroon GMC Yukon Denali with chrome handles, a sunroof, and a baggage rack were released from security footage on Tuesday. Metropolitan Police Department Captain Dori Koren had previously stated that a "altercation took place outside of the home" in a press conference. It's impossible to picture Las Vegas without German's many years of casting a bright light on dark places, according to Glenn Cook, executive editor of the Review-Journal. Cook called German "the gold standard of the journalism business." After completing his Master's degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, German spent almost twenty years at the Las Vegas Sun, where he largely covered crime and politics. He was the first journalist to arrive at the scene of the Las Vegas massacre in 2017, where 58 people were murdered and 489 were injured. The county website states that 45-year-old Telles founded an estate planning and probate law practice. Telles was unreachable for further comment. However, we were unable to get a response from the district attorney's office in Clark County. 3 A co-defendant of R. Kelly's testifies about his skepticism of the sexual misconduct allegations against the musician. On Wednesday, R. Kelly's ex-business manager testified before a jury that he believed the singer's denials of sexual misconduct that emerged against his boss, and that he came to understand that defending against false charges was a cost of doing business for a superstar. Co-defendant Derrell McDavid testified in Kelly's trial for child pornography and trial manipulation in federal court in Chicago, and he said he observed no early signs Kelly targeted youngsters for sex, attributing the fabrication of the claims to Kelly's rivals and those trying to benefit off his popularity. Before the Labor Day holiday, the prosecution wrapped up their two-week presentation to the jury, which featured the testimony of four accusers who portrayed Kelly as a skilled manipulator. Conspiracy to obstruct justice charges have been filed against McDavid and Kelly, with the allegations centering on whether or not they attempted to influence the outcome of the trial in 2008, in which the R&B singer was found not guilty. Former Kelly colleague Milton Brown is the third defendant; he is charged with one count of conspiracy to receive child pornography. McDavid testified that he had witnessed the prosecution's star witness, known as "Jane" at the current trial, when she was a minor and a frequent visitor to Kelly's studio in the late 1990s. He claimed that Kelly vehemently disputed reports that he had abused his goddaughter Jane. On Wednesday, McDavid spent over four hours speaking in a dry, matter-of-fact tone from the witness stand. While the jury was out for lunch, McDavid approached the Kelly defense table and chatted cordially with his old employer. Jane, now 37 years old, testified earlier for prosecutors and alleged Kelly sexually abused her hundreds of times beginning when she was 14 years old. She also testified that she was the child pornographic movie star in a case from 2008 that was introduced as evidence in the current case. As far as she understood, Kelly was responsible for making it. McDavid is the only one of the three defendants speaking in his own behalf. Last Monday, attorneys for Kelly and Brown informed the trial court that neither of them would be testifying. This federal trial in Chicago follows another federal trial in New York, where 55-year-old Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in June. In 1999 there was a rash of disappearances inside of the famous Yosemite National Park in California. When the police couldn't figure out where these people had gone, or who (or what) was behind their disappearances, a rumor started amongst locals that a "monster" must be running loose in the park attacking people. At first, this was just an urban legend, but by the end of the year, police would discover there really was a monster in the park, and they really were behind the disappearances.
