Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Reliable scooper Jeff Sneider claims Marvel Studios is actively looking for an actor to play T'Challa/The Black Panther, replacing the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away in 2020. According to Sneider, the studio's replacement of Boseman is only due to the fact that the MCU is working within the Multiverse currently. In related news, when asked during an interview about a dream role, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo said she would “really want to play Storm,” to “uncover how grand she is,”. Lastly, an OG villain is returning to the MCU, with Faran Tahir coming to the small screen to reprise the character of Raza, the leader of the so-called Ten Rings from 2008's Iron Man.  In some confirmed casting news, Rory McCann will replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll for Ahsoka season two. McCann is best known for playing The Hound in Game of Thrones, but his roster of work also includes Gladiator II, Hot Fuzz, Clash of the Titans, and more. Ahsoka is part of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau's Mandoverse, and Filoni will return as showrunner for season two. Director Andy Muschietti let it be known why he thinks the 2023 DCEU movie The Flash, flopped. On Radio Tu's “La Baulera del Coso” show, Muschietti said the film didn't appeal to “all four quadrants” of moviegoers. The quadrants he's speaking of are men over 25, men under 25, women over 25, and women under 25. Muschietti also said anecdotally that in conversations with people he found they “just don't care about the Flash as a character…particularly the two female quadrants.” Colman Domingo has been cast in Edgar Wright's The Running Man and will star alongside Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O'Brian and Daniel Ezra. The film releases on November 7. Production on many Hollywood television and film projects has been suspended and events such as The Critic's Choice Awards, red carpet premieres, and The Academy Awards nominations have been postponed due to the LA area wildfires. Five-time WWE world champion Seth Rollins has confirmed he is not in upcoming MCU movie Captain America: Brave New World, saying his role was cut following extensive rewrites of the script and subsequent reshoots. Universal Pictures has updated the release date calendar for two animated properties. DreamWorks' Shrek 5 has been pushed back almost 6 months to December 23, 2026 and Minions 3 from Illumination is moving forward almost a year to take Shrek 5's original date of  July 1, 2026. Variety reported today that MCU screenwriting veteran Marcus McFeely originally turned the Russo Brothers down about writing for Secret Wars, even though he is the reason the directing duo is returning. However, the next day McFeely called the Russos back and said he was in after coming up with an idea for the film. Warner Brothers is bringing back The Puppy Bowl for its 21st installment this year, but will use the game to bolster its upcoming DCU film Superman. James Gunn will appear during The Puppy Bowl with his dog Ozu, who served as the inspiration for the superdog Krypto in the film. Gunn will introduce a sneak preview of Superman and deliver a “special message” to viewers. According to box office tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World will likely cross the $100 Million Dollar Mark in it's opening 4 day weekend Ludwig Göransson will compose the score for Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey. Göransson's other film and TV credits include Creed, Black Panther, Atlanta, Tenet, and The Mandalorian. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong has reached an agreement with HBO to produce a feature film. The movie is based on an original idea of Armstrong's and will center on four friends who meet up in the midst of a global financial crisis. Production is currently fast-tracked to start later this year.

In their cheeky social satire COUP! Co-directors Austin Stark & Joseph Schuman drop us into an isolated seaside estate during the 1918 Spanish Flu. The estate belongs to a wealthy couple, an entitled journalist, Jay (Billy Magnussen) and his socialite wife, Julie (Sarah Gadon). The couple hires a mysterious grifter as a their private cook, Floyd (Peter Sarsgaard). When the plague finally descends on the island, the wily cook rouses his fellow staff to rebel and take over the mansion. Their wealthy employer suspects the cook's coup is part of a more sinister agenda, and mind games between master and servant escalate into boisterous class warfare. With a terrific cast, stars Peter Sarsgaard (currently on Apple+ hit series Presumed Innocent), Billy Magnussen (Road House remake), and Sarah Gadon, the film also stars Skye P. Marshall, Faran Tahir, Kristine Nielsen and Fisher Stevens. Co-directors and co-writers Austin Stark and Joseph Schuman joins us to talk about the tonal challenge of presenting this satirical tale that leans into the comedy of menace while embracing the themes of the class divide and revolution, as well as bringing Peter Sarsgaard into the project to play Floyd and to be the film's Executive Producer. Actor, writer, director and producer Faran Tahir may be best known for his roles in “Iron Man” (he tried to kill Tony Stark!) and “Star Trek” (he was killed by Nero!) but is now currently making his Broadway debut as Baba in “The Kite Runner”. Faran talks about playing villain roles, the challenge that comes with it, and how he brings a level of humanity to his roles. He talks about his childhood and growing up in a family who has been in the arts, and why he wasn't initially supported in his goal of becoming an actor. Aside from playing a bad guy, Tahir also shares the challenge of playing a good guy and of finding flaws, why he thinks art is "about putting up mirrors so that we can look at and examine ourselves". He shares what he would tell his students when he used to teach acting, which was you can never say you've mastered something. He also reflects on his role as Baba in "The Kite Runner", finding your spiritual community, and how as humans there is always room for redemption. Faran Tahir is an actor, writer, director, and producer who came from a theatre family. He has appeared in over 50 stage productions across the US and the world. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his graduate degree from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. His film credits include "Iron Man", "Star Trek", "Escape Plan", and Elysium. He has also appeared in numerous TV shows, including "The West Wing", “12 Monkeys”, "Shameless", "Supernatural", "24", "Lost", "Prison Break", "Chuck", "Criminal Minds", and "How to Get Away with Murder". He's recently played the title role of Othello at Shakespeare Theatre Company and Richard III at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. His other theatre credits include "Macbeth" at American Repertory Theatre, "Beast and Moon" and “A Perfect Ganesh” at Actor's Theatre of Louisville, and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. The war rages on in Ukraine, and exclusive new reporting reveals some of the ways Russia's war is being funded. A new Yale study concludes that Russia's economy has been “catastrophically crippled” by western sanctions – so how is President Putin fueling his war machine? Partly thanks to his meddling in Africa. In an exclusive report, Nima Elbagir reveals how Moscow stopped democratic change over 6,000 miles away in Sudan, just as its people had successfully toppled one of the longest standing African dictators through peaceful street protests. One key reason: Sudan is one of the world's biggest exporters of gold, and Russia has been illegally exploiting and smuggling this resource from Sudan for years. Nima and her team traveled to the north of the country to show how Russia manipulates the Sudanese military government and how it uses front companies to get around U.S. sanctions to hold onto the gold.  Also on today's show: The Kite Runner actors Amir Arison, Azita Ghanizada and Faran Tahir; Yale social and natural science professor Nicholas Christakis. To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy

Stories of Transformation
Empathy and the Art of Acting with Hollywood Star, Faran Tahir

Faran Tahir has acted on the stage, on TV, and on the big screen. Starring in major Hollywood blockbusters like Iron Man and Star Trek, as well as countless other acclaimed productions, Faran is as accomplished an actor as they come. But despite all of his success, Faran stills describes himself with a genuine air of humility - a “student” by his own account - always eager to learn and improve, not just in his craft but in the art of being human. Faran’s true character - off the stage, that is - speaks for itself when he shares that his favorite part of acting is the exercise in empathy that comes with stepping into someone else’s shoes.A beacon of light for an underrepresented community in Hollywood, Faran is of Pakistani-American descent. Having spent time living and working in both regions of the world, Faran holds a unique and insightful perspective on the dual-misunderstanding that affects the perception from both sides of his citizenship. The similarities - the connections - that make us all human are greater than the sum of even our greatest differences, Faran says. And similar to the empathy that he channels when he gets into character, Faran believes that practicing empathy is the key to living beyond the myopic lens of cultural conditioning and stereotypes, and expanding our worldview into a more global, inclusive perspective. In this episode of Stories of Transformation, Faran Tahir shares the story of how he followed his heart to decide to pursue a career in acting; why he took one of the leading roles in his recent film I’ll Meet You There, directed by Iram Parveen Bilal; the differences between the filmmaking industries in America and South Asia; and how film and the arts can be used as tools for highlighting our shared human connections rather than our inconsequential differences. For full show noteshttps://www.baktashahadi.com/podcastConnect with Faran TahirInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/faran.tahir/?hl=enFacebook: Faran TahirResourcesMore information on Faran: Faran TahirMore information on I'll Meet You There:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4578102/Faran Tahir's IMDB:https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0846687/Listen to the Stories of Transformation Podcast featuring “I’ll Meet You There” director, Iram Parveen Bilal:https://www.baktashahadi.com/shownotes/moving-forward-by-facing-the-past-a-conversation-with-ill-meet-you-there-filmmaker-iram-parveen-bilalFollow/Support Stories of Transformation and Baktash AhadiDonate to the production of this podcast https://www.baktashahadi.com/supportFollow us on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/stories_of_transformation/Follow us on Facebook Stories of TransformationCreditsHosted by: Baktash Ahadihttps://www.baktashahadi.comProduced by: Joseph Gangemihttps://www.linkedin.com/in/joseph-gangemi-audio/Digital Marketing & Media by: Katherine Anhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/katherine-a-91081b56/Theme music by: Qais Essarwww.therabab.comArtwork by: Masheed Ahadihttps://www.LinkedIn.com/in/masheedEpisode Music Credits"Willow Wood" by Alon Peretz"Merry Go Round" by David Charrier"Stay" by Yotam Agam

Whereas when done right, it brings the authenticity to the work and a lot of respect for the makers.  The best example of Hindi accent done right! 1. The Hindi/Urdu used in the video, prepared by Ten rings terrorist declaring the kidnapping of Tony Stark, by Faran Tahir appears as Raza.  Also, the Hindi/Urdu spoken by Stark's fellow captive, (Shaun Toub as Yinsen) is understandably an accent spoken by someone who is not fully proficient and still learning.  Worst example of Hindi language in films is a scene in movie -   1. Avengers (Scene where Black Widow searches for Dr Banner, and a little girl approaches Dr Banner and talks in a bad accent) 2. The Russell Peters TV show on Netflix - Indian Detective, the lead actress has the worst accent of Hindi. (Alas, Russell Peters is of Indian descent)” Anders Reff from Oslo, Norway writes in, “Hollywood has portrayed the scandinavian and especially norwegian accent terribly wrong for many decades. By that i mean the accent we have while talking english. I understand why it ends up like that. They cant use resources on nailing that accent correct I mean, who cares, besides from us here up in the cold north.  It is especially annoying because the actual norwegian accent is quite funny and naive. The hollywood version: way over the top and everybody sounds like nutcases.   Wrong accent: norwegians visiting in a simpsons-episode  Right accent: thorbjorn jagland revealing obama as peace prize winner ( jeezes, did that really happen?)” And Eddie from Philadelphia writes in to say “I just listened to the February 14 episode of Slash Film Daily where you discussed "Den of Thieves 2".   I was one of the few people who did go see the movie (using my MoviePass), and I found it to be a pretty enjoyable action/heist movie. The ending to the film set up a sequel quite nicely so it doesn't surprise me that they're greenlighting a sequel.   Considering you saw "Geostorm", I think that it's worth using your MoviePass to go see. Although it's a long film, it's a great theater experience.”   In the News: ‘The Cloverfield Paradox' Drew Five Million Netflix Viewers in Its First Seven Days Is Paramount Rebooting The ‘Transformers' Cinematic Universe?
