He was the detective who could get the confessions other cops couldn't. Thus the nickname, Father Frank. It was Father Frank who rescued the prosecution's case against Cal—until that conviction was overturned. And it was Father Frank who helped put away a 16-year-old for murder—until that conviction was also overturned. So how good was Father Frank really? The DA reopened his cases, and some even called him the Scarcella of The Bronx. Empire on Blood is a production of Orbit Media in association with Signal Co. The Burden: Empire on Blood - the Director's cut of the true crime classic Empire on Blood which reached #1 on the overall charts when it was released half a dozen years ago - has now launched on The Burden feed. This 7 episode limited series (plus 3 brand new bonus episodes!) features never-before-heard tape and new interviews with characters who've gone on to riches, to freedom and to infamy. The Burden: Empire on Blood is set In the Bronx in the early 90s when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large, wearing mink, drinking champagne, stacking bills. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed, dead bodies piled up, and the protege accused Calvin, the boss, of a double homicide, which he claimed he didn't do. But did he? Witnesses came forward. A prosecutor, who went by Turtle Man, swore Calvin was the culprit. Father Frank, the detective who got the impossible-to-get confessions, gathered evidence. Meanwhile, Calvin put his faith in a legendary 85-year-old attorney on his death bed, and a born-again preacher who carried a gun and a Bible and who promised to find the mysterious Evilina – she supposedly saw it all go down twenty years ago. Host and journalist Steve Fishman (recently of #1 ranked My Friend The Serial Killer) spent seven years untangling this dark intrigue and is available to talk about the show, new information they uncovered about those involved and NYC (especially the Bronx) in the 90s.Listeners can follow The Burden: Empire on Blood on The Burden feed, as well as all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

In 2013, a Good Guy doll called Chucky mysteriously arrives in the mail at the isolated home of paraplegic Nica Pierce and her mother Sarah. Sarah repeatedly and compulsively paints pictures of the same flowers. Later that night, Sarah is found dead from a stab wound and her death is ruled as a suicide. Nica is visited by her sister Barb, accompanied by her husband Ian, their daughter Alice, live-in nanny Jill, and priest Father Frank. Alice finds Chucky and is allowed to keep him. That evening, while Alice and Nica are making chili for dinner, Chucky secretly pours rat poison into one of the dinner bowls. Father Frank eats the poison. After he leaves, he gets sick and ends up in a car accident that decapitates him. That night, Nica wonders where the doll came from and investigates Chucky on the internet; she finds news articles about the murders tied to both the doll and Charles Lee Ray. In an August 2008 interview, Don Mancini and David Kirschner spoke of a planned reboot of the Chucky franchise, to be written and directed by Mancini. They described their choice of a remake over a sequel as a response to the will of the fans, who "want to see a scary Chucky movie again... to go back to the straightforward horror rather than the horror comedy." They indicated that Brad Dourif would return as the voice of Chucky. In a subsequent interview, Mancini described the remake as a darker and scarier retelling of the original film, but one that, while having new twists and turns, would not stray too far from the original concept. At a 2009 horror convention, Dourif confirmed his role in the remake. At a reunion panel at the Mad Monster Party horror and sci-fi convention, the cast and crew from the original film confirmed that both a remake and a spin-off are in development. Writer Don Mancini and producer David Kirschner worked on a sequel then titled Revenge of Chucky. It’s Christmas week, and what better time to have Father Frank Pavone on The P.A.S. Report Podcast. Father Frank joins Professor Giordano to discuss how the government has been using the coronavirus to restrict religious freedom throughout the country. While our religious freedoms are being restricted, it’s important to understand how the left has successfully refocused the narrative when it comes to religion and issues like abortion. They also discuss the complexities of the 21st-century culture war and why faith is so important, especially during the trying times.   Don’t forget to share this episode of The P.A.S. Report with family and friends, and on all your social media channels.   More Information It is Professor Giordano’s passion that led him to start The P.A.S. Report. Sick of an activist news media that wants to dictate how to think, Professor Giordano started The P.A.S. Report because of his unique ability to breakdown complex political issues and explain those issues in a way to appeal to everyday Americans. By introducing facts, a conservative perspective, and quality analysis, the listeners can come to their own conclusions.   Listen to The P.A.S. There were rumblings and chatter within the pro-life community over the weekend because of a newly released documentary film: “AKA JANE ROE” - The Norma McCorvey story. Give a listen as we break down some of the technical aspects of documentary filmmaking and the obvious pro-abortion slant of the film: “AKA JANE ROE”.
