Click here to send me a quick message :) Well hey my loves, it's a freaking wild time in the world. Full of uncertainty. Who knows what's coming this week, this year, in the next decade, and on and on. There is so much we have no power or control over. But one thing we DO is our own bodies and ideally also, our choice of what to do with them. But when we talk about choice related to our bodies, it's often speaking to access to contraption or termination options provided by practitioners or medical establishments outside of ourselves. (and unfortunately widely controlled by those in power in our governmental or religious organizations). What I mean when I speak to choice is something entirely different. It is the POWER inherent in practicing natural contraception from the lens of Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) combined with herbal allies to help us prevent pregnancy if needed. It is entirely within our capacity to prevent pregnancy with no outside assistance. And that, to me, is embodied sovereignty.Today I share a little about 5 benefits of practicing natural contraception based on my personal 16 years of doing so, and teaching tens (maybe hundreds now) of others to do so too. My life and work has been profoundly shaped by this practice, so I'm excited for you to hear these benefits especially if you're considering walking this path, too. We've all heard it online and all over social media – that you can only get pregnant during a five or six day window each month, aligning with the presence of your more fertile cervical mucus. But, what if your CM is here to party most of the month? Especially for those of us practicing Fertility Awareness Method (FAM), the risks in not knowing for sure are huge. In this solo episode, I break down this issue, why such black-and-white advice actually doesn't apply to the incredible range of individuality in the human body, and why the answer – as it always is – is understanding yourself on a deeper level. Are You Menstrual? – In this episode, we are focusing on my favorite method of birth control: The Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) with a certified fertility awareness coach, Nina Boyce. Nina is a certified Fertility Awareness Educator and Reiki Practitioner based in Columbus, OH. Her coaching programs focus on FAM for optimized conception, and/or non-hormonal birth control, and she passionately believes that all women deserve to understand how their body functions. Nina takes a holistic approach, focusing on nutrition and mineral testing, cycle charting, and lifestyle modifications to help her clients achieve their desired fertility goals. She is also the host of the Healing Hormones Podcast, where she interviews leading women in the world of menstrual health. While FAM is an amazing form of birth control and can also help you conceive, it's so much more than that. FAM gives you an inside look into your hormones, stress, and overall health. I personally think it is an essential tool on your healing journey and can serve you through the many transitions of female life. If you're wondering about hormonal birth control methods, we discussed those and their impact in our last episode. ~Links & Resources:Follow Nina on IG: http://instagram.com/nourishedwithninaCheck out Nina's website: https://nourishedwithnina.com/Listen to Nina's podcast: https://nourishedwithnina.com/podcast/https://www.tempdrop.com Free Training: Optimizing Hormone Health with Mineral Balance: https://bit.ly/3iwRDMkMineral Imbalance Quiz: https://bit.ly/3ycEn4h

Do you cycle chart? Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is amazing as a tool for natural conception or birth control. My experience gave me more flexibility and took the pressure off the timing of intercourse. Plus, it gave me more insights into the way my body works, how my lifestyle affects my cycle and hard data about whether I ovulated or not. I feel more empowered ! If you're a female, this is the episode you MUST LISTEN TO. Elizabeth is a licensed naturopathic physician in Portland, OR where she sees patients for a wide variety of issues, but specializes in infertility & preconception. She also has a satellite practice in Chicago, IL where she is from, and travels there every 4-8 weeks to see clients. Her passion for women’s health and fertility began in her first year of medical school after an unexpected medical emergency compromised her own fertility. This event, and the resultant prognosis, was devastating but as with many major life disruptors, so much strength and power came from it. It led her finding the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM), a practice that uses two key indicators to track hormonal shifts in the monthly menstrual cycle. Elizabeth wholeheartedly believes that FAM is the most empowering tool she has learned to date when it comes to the health and understanding of her body.. She is passionate about helping other women learn more about their menstrual cycles and how to use the signs and symptoms the body gives them each month to gain a deeper understanding of their hormonal health and fertility. Despite what you may have, FAM has been studied and proven to be 99.4% reliable when used for contraceptive purposes. WELCOME TO DAY 7, THE LAST OF FERTILITY WEEK! Justina Thompson is a Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) coach and is our last guest for Fertility Week. She took a 2-year certification program with Sarah Naomi Bly and has successfully been using FAM to prevent pregnancy for 7 years. It is a natural birth control method free from side effects. She learnt more about the importance of FAM for couples trying to get pregnant during her 2 years training and while in internship. A large portion of her training involved understanding how hormones work for the female body from the scientific level. The focus for the program was to support hormonal health with lifestyle, nutrition and environmental factors. Couples are often told by their doctors that unless they’ve been trying to conceive for more than 12 months, then they should keep trying which kind of leaves them in the dark. But with FAM and other types of charting like the BBT, which is very popular, the method targets the time when the woman is most fertile and more capable of conceiving. In this episode, Justina talks about: Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) and how it works Signs of fertility in women - cervical fluid, BBT charting and cervical position Factors that trigger early or late ovulation Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) Common problems and frustrations in charting If you want to learn more about Justina Thompson, click here to visit her website.
