In today's episode, I'm gifting you a behind-the-scenes of what it's like to be activated by me in private 1:1 work. Between calls, my clients have access to me on Voxer, which is a messaging walkie-talkie type system where we can flow back and forth in real-time. Sometimes, all they need is a transmission to get the body, mind, and soul back into alignment and on the path moving toward their wildest dreams. You will hear my side of the transmission. My client is a solo momma with a prosperous Law practice who just hired an amazing Mary Poppins of a legal assistant to elevate her business and life. On the back end she came down with the Vid and it was taking over her mind, body, and soul exactly the way it's intended to do. She had so many fears that the virus brought to the surface, but also it's part of the evolutionary process…when we have a major breakthrough and reach a point in our lives we've never been before instead of holding the frequency of that high we sabotage on the back end buzz kill. One of the things she was worried about was money. This is what the virus is coded for…to stir up our survival mechanisms and bring to the surface things that aren't even real for where we are right now. She wanted nothing more than to get back to work because she thought her business would fail without her there. She was worried about money, worried about not being perfect for her new hire, and worried that just being still and breathing means she's not serious about life. You will see how I walk her through the process and move her back into her body so that she could heal quicker and also alchemize the residual trauma and survival patterns still in her body. Rakibul Islam is a two time National Champion who won gold in Individual Time Trial at Bangladesh Cycling National Championships. From picking up an MTB during his degree to just ride around, through sheer determination and hard work he has become the first amateur rider to become a National Champion in Bangladesh. He is also an excellent Duathlete and an age group podium finisher in Decathlon at 2019 Powerman Championships. In August 2021, he left his job as a pharmacist in Dhaka and started training full time and started coaching people. Need a dose of inspiration and positivity to start the new year? Meet US Paralympian Sydney Collier. You're going to love her. Sydney's story truly has to be heard to be believed. Sydney was living an active, horse-filled childhood when her very rare syndrome was discovered at a routine eye appointment. The next several years included experimental treatments and surgeries, devastating strokes, and resulted in her physical disability. All the while, she remained focused on finding ways to ride with her limited left side and left arm, which she semi-affectionately named Linda. And ride, she did. Sydney earned a spot on the US Para Dressage team and was the youngest competitor at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France. At age 18, she won the 2016 US Para-dressage National Championships and became the youngest member in the equestrian portion of the 2016 Paralympics in Rio as a part of Team USA. Sydney walks us through the constant hurdles, the seemingly perpetual changes to her body and her disability, and how she found ways to adapt and thrive at every turn (and even logistically, how to work with horses who are not familiar with para riding). She has become an outspoken advocate for riders with disabilities and para dressage, and finds ways to spread support and positivity to riders of all abilities, everywhere she goes.

Sorry it took a little longer this year to get through it all but narrowing down my favorites to just 30 was even more difficult than usual. For those unfamiliar with my process, every year I listen to every artist performing at SXSW. It’s on the order of 2000-3000 performers. I then narrow that down to a manageable size of around 100, which I use to build my schedule if I’m going to the festival (which I have sadly missed the last couple years). From there, I cull down to 20-30 bands for the podcast. If you want to hear the top hundred, or the top approximately 300 sorted by genre, I have all those playlists up on Spotify at ActiveListener. In other words, you can go way deeper if you want, something I would highly recommend.
