G'day Folks, On the first show for 2023 Andy and I tackle a few developing stories but first, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!! We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. A well deserved break was needed. For this show we discussed: Activist Katie Hopkins (from the UK) video discusses the plan for Oxford's 15 Minute City which is really just a way to curtail freedoms and keep people from moving about freely. The ever encroaching control grid is now becoming a reality. We have been discussing it on previous shows and as new developments come to fruition we believe it to be necessary to go over the details and read between the lies to bring you what the real agenda is. Don't forget that Melbourne and Sydney have their version of these "15 Minute Cities" starting soon. NSW Health Department recently published their data (which they have done regularly) of their COVID-19 Weekly Data Overview. And as per usual folks the data doesn't lie. Hospital admissions and ICU admissions for "Covid-19 patients" is yet again not looking good for the vaccinated. This data is quite shocking. 810 Hospitalisations for people with 4 or more COVID vaccinated people and wait for it... 0 yes ZERO for the unvaccinated. This data is absolutely damning for the NSW government and their COVID-19 vaccination and booster campaign. The more shots you have the sicker you will be. It's in the data. Which is why, it was recently revealed, the NSW government will NO LONGER BE REPORTING THE VACCINATION STATUS OF THOSE ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL AND ICU! It would appear Dr Kerry Chant and Brad Hazzard are sick of looking like buffoons so they intend to lie by omission. We also share an interesting video on a FOI request which was partially granted and shows that certain Pfizer COVID-19 batches were responsible for deaths here in Australia. The TGA new this. In the lead up to the school holidays, NSW Health is urging parents to be aware of the dangers of vaping among young people. NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant said :"“Vapes contain dangerous ingredients which could cause irreversible damage to the health and development of young people. There is no such thing as a safe vape.” Health Minister Brad Hazzard said evidence shows that vaping is akin to breathing in the same harmful chemicals found in weedkiller and nail polish remover, dressed up in hundreds of flavours and bright colours to be attractive to kids. “The potential harm is enormous and we need to share this information with our kids,” Mr Hazzard said. Dr Jan Fizzell, Senior Medical Advisor, NSW Health spoke at the Multicultural Media COVID-19 Online Conference which was held on Wednesday 14 December 2022 and gave advice to parents on how to keep their children away from aping. Police hell-bent on stopping Sydney's rampant gang war are niggling their targets any way they can, disrupting the lives of kingpins with petty criminal charges – like hanging an arm out the window of a car. She was the hero who pulled NSW out of the darkest days of the pandemic and chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant says being recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours is a tribute to her colleagues. The flood-ravaged Northern Rivers will get a bigger emergency services presence as part of a $132.7 million investment in the SES. CoQ10 may help blood sugar management in people with MetS Kashan University of Medical Sciences (Iran), December 5, 2021 Daily supplements of coenzyme Q10 may produce beneficial effects on insulin and blood sugar management in people with metabolic syndrome, says a new study. Writing in the PubMed-listed European Journal of Nutrition , researchers from Kashan University of Medical Sciences in Iran report that CoQ10 supplementation was also associated with significant improvements in serum insulin levels, insulin resistance (measured using the homeostatic model assessment: HOMA-IR), and beta-cell function (homeostatic model assessment-beta cell function: HOMA-B). Results showed that participants in the CoQ10 group experienced significant improvements in insulin levels, HOMA-IR, and HOMA-B, while there was also a trend to improved levels of glutathione and reduced levels of malondialdehyde, a reactive carbonyl compound that is a marker of oxidative stress. (NEXT) Eucalyptus compound effective at treating lung damage University of Melbourne & Monash University (Australia), December 4, 2021 University of Melbourne-led research has shown the flavonoid pinocembrin, derived from Australian eucalyptus trees, has strong anti-inflammatory properties and could be safe and effective at treating lung fibrosis in sheep, a large animal model for human lung disease. Pinocembrin, a flavonoid found in several different type of trees including pine trees and eucalyptus, has been reported to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-cancer properties. "We found that pinocembrin improved lung function, attenuated lung inflammation, and decreased overall pathology scores compared to damaged lungs that were untreated," Dr. Derseh said. "We saw striking anti-inflammatory effects and modest anti-fibrotic remodeling after four weeks of administering pinocembrin." "In lung fluid samples, inflammatory cells called neutrophils dropped from 7.4 percent of total cells to 3.7 percent in the pinocembrin-treated bleomycin-injured lung segments." (NEXT) Study links high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease to plastics University of California at Riverside, December 2, 2021 Plastics, part of modern life, are useful but can pose a significant challenge to the environment and may also constitute a health concern. Indeed, exposure to plastic-associated chemicals, such as base chemical bisphenol A and phthalate plasticizers, can increase the risk of human cardiovascular disease. What underlying mechanisms cause this, however, remain elusive. A team led by Changcheng Zhou, a biomedical scientist at the University of California, Riverside, now raises the hopes of solving the mystery. In a mouse study, the researchers found a phthalate—a chemical used to make plastics more durable—led to increased plasma cholesterol levels. (NEXT) Environmentally sustainable diet linked to health benefits Lund University (Sweden), December 9, 2021 A large population study from Lund University in Sweden has shown that more sustainable dietary habits are linked to health benefits, such as a reduced risk of premature death from cardiovascular disease and cancer. The study is published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. "Our results indicate that dietary guidelines that are beneficial for both planetary health and personal health do exist," says Anna Stubbendorff, doctoral student at Lund University and first author of the study. The EAT-Lancet Commission report describes how the world must transform its food production and consumption if the Earth's already fragile environment and scarce resources are to suffice for 10 billion people in 2050. The report covered six different areas: climate impact, water use, biodiversity, phosphorus and nitrogen use and acidification. (NEXT) Move Over, Wheat! Rye Bread Is Better for Weight Loss Chalmers University (Sweden), December 2, 2021 New research from Chalmers University in Sweden found that dieters who consumed whole-grain rye lost more weight than those who went for refined wheat. In the 12-week-long study, 242 overweight or obese participants were randomly selected to eat either high fiber rye products or refined wheat products in addition to a hypocaloric diet. Those in the rye group lost an average of 6.4 lbs. and more body fat compared to those in the wheat group, who only lost 4 lbs. "Why rye?" On average, a slice of rye bread is relatively low in calories (around 83 calories) and packed with beneficial nutrients like, folate, iron, copper, niacin and vitamin B6. (NEXT) Vitamins C and E associated with decreased inflammation in diabetics Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (Iran), December 30 2015. The Avicenna Journal of Phytomedicine published the finding of a trial conducted by Iranian researchers of anti-inflammatory effects of vitamin C and vitamin E in male diabetics. It is possible to control insulin resistance and diabetes by modulating inflammatory cytokines and adipokines using chemical drugs or supplementary micronutrients. (NEXT) What's really wrong with the mainstream media Robert Reich, The Guardian, December 9, 2021 I'm often asked how I keep up with the news. Obviously, I avoid the unhinged rightwing outlets pushing misinformation, disinformation and poisonous lies. But I've also grown wary of the mainstream media – not because it peddles “fake news” but because of three more subtle biases. First, it often favors the status quo. Mainstream journalists wanting to appear serious about public policy rip into progressives for the costs of their proposals, but never ask self-styled “moderates” how they plan to cope with the costs of doing nothing or doing too little about the same problems. A Green New Deal might be expensive but doing nothing about the climate crisis will almost certainly cost far more. Medicare for All will cost a lot, but the price of doing nothing about America's cruel and dysfunctional healthcare system will soon be in the stratosphere. (NEXT) A massive 8-year effort finds that much cancer research can't be replicated SCIENCE NEWS, DECEMBER 7, 2021 After eight years, a project that tried to reproduce the results of key cancer biology studies has finally concluded. And its findings suggest that like research in the social sciences, cancer research has a replication problem. Researchers with the Reproducibility Project: Cancer Biology aimed to replicate 193 experiments from 53 top cancer papers published from 2010 to 2012. But only a quarter of those experiments were able to be reproduced, the team reports in two papers published December 7 in eLife. The researchers couldn't complete the majority of experiments because the team couldn't gather enough information from the original papers or their authors about methods used, or obtain the necessary materials needed to attempt replication. What's more, of the 50 experiments from 23 papers that were reproduced, effect sizes were, on average, 85 percent lower than those reported in the original experiments. Effect sizes indicate how big the effect found in a study is. For example, two studies might find that a certain chemical kills cancer cells, but the chemical kills 30 percent of cells in one experiment and 80 percent of cells in a different experiment. The first experiment has less than half the effect size seen in the second one. (NEXT) Bayer executive: mRNA shots are ‘gene therapy' marketed as ‘vaccines' to gain public trust ‘We probably would have had a 95% refusal rate' for these shots two years ago, but the pandemic and marketing of the injections as ‘vaccines' has made them popular with the public, said Stefan Oelrich. LIFESITE, Wed Nov 10, 2021 The president of Bayer's Pharmaceuticals Division told international “experts” during a globalist health conference that the mRNA COVID-19 shots are indeed “cell and gene therapy” marketed as “vaccines” to be palatable to the public. Stefan Oelrich, president of Bayer's Pharmaceuticals Division, made these comments at this year's World Health Summit, which took place in Berlin from October 24-26 and hosted 6,000 people from 120 countries. Oelrich told his fellow international “experts” from academia, politics, and the private sector that the novel mRNA COVID “vaccines” are actually “cell and gene therapy” that would have otherwise been rejected by the public if not for a “pandemic” and favorable marketing. (NEXT) VAERS Data Indicates the Covid Vaccines Have Killed At Least 140,000 Americans Vasko Kohlmayer. American Thinker, December 9, 2021 To get an idea of just how dangerous the current Covid vaccines are, we only need to look at the numbers in the government-authorized VAERS database. If we, then, adjust our VEARS number for this variable, we will obtain the result of 140,616 (3,906 x 36). This would represent the number of Americans killed by the Covid vaccines in a period of fewer than 12 months starting in mid-December 2020 through November 26, 2021. Please keep in mind that the above is a very conservative estimate, which we have arrived at by assuming a 20 percent causality link in reported death entries in the VAERS database and the underreporting factor of 36. This, however, is likely a gross understatement of the actual situation. Using less conservative assumptions, many researchers have come up with a higher death toll. Steve Kirsch, Jessica Rose, and Mathew Crawford, for example, estimated in their paper that the vaccines have likely claimed 150,000 lives as of August 28, 2021. If we use the underreporting factor of 100 (one hundred) advocated by David A. Kessler, Ronald Kostoff, and the Department of Health and Human Services we would arrive at the figure of 390,600 deaths attributable to the vaccines. (NEXT) Vaccine Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (VAIDS): 'We should anticipate seeing this immune erosion more widely' FRONTLINE NEWS, Dec 05, 2021 'If immune erosion occurs after two doses and just a few months, how can we exclude the possibility that effects of an untested "booster" will not erode more rapidly and to a greater extent?' A Lancet study comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated people in Sweden was conducted among 1.6 million individuals over nine months. It showed that protection against symptomatic COVID-19 declined with time, such that by six months, some of the more vulnerable vaccinated groups were at greater risk than their unvaccinated peers. Doctors are calling this phenomena in the repeatedly vaccinated “immune erosion” or “acquired immune deficiency”, accounting for elevated incidence of myocarditis and other post-vaccine illnesses that either affect them more rapidly, resulting in death, or more slowly, resulting in chronic illness. First, these vaccines “mis-train” the immune system to recognize only a small part of the virus (the spike protein). Variants that differ, even slightly, in this protein are able to escape the narrow spectrum of antibodies created by the vaccines. Second, the vaccines create “vaccine addicts,” meaning persons become dependent upon regular booster shots, because they have been “vaccinated” only against a tiny portion of a mutating virus. Australian Health Minister Dr. Kerry Chant has stated that COVID will be with us forever and people will “have to get used to” taking endless vaccines. “This will be a regular cycle of vaccination and revaccination.” Third, the vaccines do not prevent infection in the nose and upper airways, and vaccinated individuals have been shown to have much higher viral loads in these regions. This leads to the vaccinated becoming “super-spreaders” as they carry extremely high viral loads. In addition, the vaccinated become more clinically ill than the unvaccinated. Scotland reported that the infection fatality rate in the vaccinated is 3.3 times the unvaccinated, and the risk of death if hospitalized is 2.15 times the unvaccinated. Indefinite uncontrolled autoimmune response to the coronavirus spike protein may produce a wave of antibodies called anti-idiotype antibodies or Ab2s that continue to damage human bodies long after clearing either Sars-Cov-2 itself or those spike proteins that the shots cause the body's cells to produce, explained former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson. Spike protein antibodies may themselves produce a second wave of antibodies, called anti-idiotype antibodies or Ab2s. Those Ab2s may modulate the immune system's initial response by binding with and destroying the first wave of antibodies. “While some are concerned that blood IgG antibodies fall with time, I am not convinced that this is a relevant measure,” Yeadon continued. "Respiratory virus infection begins in the lungs and nasopharynx. Neither are protected by blood antibodies, which are molecules too large to diffuse into airways tissue. What protects against infection and initial viral replication is secretory IgA antibodies and T-cells in airways, neither of which have been studied in any efficacy trial. "The empirical data are very worrying. In most countries now, high fractions of the population have been vaccinated. If the Swedish study is a guide, we should anticipate seeing this immune erosion more widely. The most concerning aspect of that study is that those most in need of protection are those in whom immune erosion is most marked: the elderly, males, and those with comorbidities. "Some have used the results of this study to support the widespread use of so-called ‘booster' shots. It has to be said: No one has any safety data about such a plan. If immune erosion occurs after two doses and just a few months, how can we exclude the possibility that effects of an untested ‘booster' will not erode more rapidly and to a greater extent? And what then would be the response? A fourth injection. Madness. Yeadon concluded: "Europe is all but gone. The lights are going out. Austria and Germany now subject their unvaccinated to house arrest. In Greece, the unvaccinated are subject to escalating fines, non-payment of which is converted into prison time. In Lithuania, the unvaccinated are excluded from society. The booster campaigns are running full-pelt everywhere. “Someone, somewhere knows what's going to happen. Will immunity-erosion worsen more speedily and to a greater extent after this untested ‘booster'? The U.K. government has already said that the fourth injection is to take place a mere three months after the third. It's utter madness. Yet such is the hermetic control of media that nothing much emerges into the public consciousness.”

Restrictions placed on the unvaccinated have fueled a surge in vaccination rates across the country leaving federal politicians split over the state-imposed mandates. The Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Queenslanders should be allowed to "get a cup of coffee in Brisbane regardless of whether you've had a vaccine or not" once the state reaches 80 per cent double dose vaccination, but European epidemiologists are warning against easing restrictions too early.
This week on the program we talk the finding of Chloe Smith, COP26, Australia vs. France, Emmanuel Macron, Scott Morrison, leaked text messages, quarantine free-travel, UK approves antiviral COVID pill, light rail, booster shots, 3D printers building joints, Kerry Chant, Western Australia reopening, gambling, council elections, Mayor Wendy, Alan Jones, sports, and more.

Summary by Peyton Smith (MONOLOGUE)What if we are not in fact going into tyranny? Could it be that the entire world is instead heading towards a state of bondage and slavery?Through actions of their own, have the multitudes been begging for the same nightmare that Australia is currently facing? As unpopular as it might be for many to even contemplate, that is the focus of today's program.---------------------------Hour 1, segment 1: Mike discusses the sermon he delivered yesterday at his house, and the continued blessings that God has bestowed not only on his family, but all the brothers and sisters who attend church at his house. The blessings of our savior, Jesus Christ, truly know no bounds.-------------------------------------Both the Blessings and Cursings of the Bible are clearly unfolding here, in 2021.With that in mind, Mike turns attention towards Australia and the situation there that looms for many nations.(AUDIO) Dr. Kerry Chant says that life in Oz will never return to normal. A literal state of psychosis seems to be brought forth by the authorities. https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/australias-chief-health-officer-completely-dashes-any-hope-the-country-will-return-to-normal-one-day/Mike looks beyond the media presentation of the madness, and how it indeed reflects what is written in God's word. The prophet Isaiah warned that if people put off God, women and children will rule over them.Is that what is happening in Australia? It seems to appear that way.Why are so many otherwise nice Australian's feeling the brunt of such evil? How have they been living while in lockdown? Our Lord knows how they've been living.Aside from hard core Christians, Satanists have a very keen understanding of God's covenants. They laugh at all who, out of ignorance, take their bait of sinful bile. Whether that be through a steady diet of disgusting TV shows, music, etc...the ignorant are there in droves to lap it all up and be beguiled by Satan. Is it any wonder the world is now facing such turmoil?Satan's first appearance in the bible speaks volumes.Adam and Eve had literally everything. They had no need nor did they have want for anything. But they took Satan's bait, as did the writer of this summary. There is grace from God though, praise his name!------------------------------------Hour 1, segment 2: Are the majority of people in the U.S. and Canada simply getting the evil mediocrity they deserve in Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden?------------------------------------A woman of the church that Mike attended as a young man with his parents prophesied that he would become an Elijah of his generation. What does that say about a generation? It says that many who are a part of it are in desperate trouble.Over and over we read and hear about people who may not have been molesters or rapists. Good old boy's who make dirty jokes, or perhaps watch some porn here and there. It is these folks for whom judgement comes.-------------------------------Israel is enduring one of the harshest lockdown's the world has seen. Horrible measures which are bringing people to tears, and making them plead for help.Tel Aviv, the red light district of the middle east, has been home to much debauchery for many years.------------------------------What about businesses that have proudly displayed the LGBT flag over the last number of years? So many that have brazenly flouted immortality like this have been shuttered under lockdown's.What could've happened? For all who are being plagued by such sinfulness, there is grace, mercy, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.Mike points to a chapter of Deuteronomy, that basically consists of blessings and cursings.A person gets to choose their own outcome.Mike goes through both the blessings and the cursings in this chapter. The blessings that happen with God working in one's life are phenomenal, as Mike points out. Harken unto the voice of the savior, then blessed shall one be in the city or in the field.Your enemies will tuck their tales and flee. It's a pretty darn good deal.Keep the commandments of our Lord, and see what happens.----------------------------Enjoy and be blessed by an hour 1 of almighty power from Mike, anointed by Jesus Christ. LISTEN IN FULL!Hour 2, segment 1: Why are things getting so bad for so many people? Why are they getting better for many? It's all about how we live and who we live for.The Lord shall command his blessing upon you in the storehouse, and ALL THAT YOU PUT YOUR HAND TO.That means everything. Why are so many otherwise nice Australian's feeling the brunt of such evil? How have they been living, while in lockdown.A holy people in word, as well as deed, is where we need to be. If we are full of God's truth, we shall be set free. The alternative is forsaking the Lord, and perishing. Pestilence will be upon all who take the wrong path. The health of America and so many nations is at it's poorest. Why could that be? Why are disease rates so off the charts?Captivity, bondage, and loss is also in the offing for all who walk with blinded eyes.A very bad deal, but one which can be avoided. All these curses, and more, will come upon ALL who don't harken to the voice of the Lord and keep his commandments.---------------------------------Hour 2, segment 2: Choose this day whom you shall serve. Are we hearing about food shortages?Yes we are. Why could that be?God's word indeed explains so much about what is happening in the world today. He didn't come into the world to condemn it, for the world was already condemned.Think of entire nations who were once all powerful and prosperous, but fell to mass starvation and oppression. Why was that brought about?Could it be that these nations, en masse, turned away from God?Certainly. We live in the sickest generation ever. In western society, we have every empty thrill and lustful desire at our fingertips, yet depression is off the charts. Shouldn't we be happier than ever? We think we have everything, but at the same time walk in fear of everything....because we have lost our way so horribly. Living in fear or in doubt of one's life is yet another curse.People who think they are wealthy and above it all will not be exempt. Keep the commandments of our Lord and savior, seek repentance, forgiveness, and the grace which he wants for all of us. Look inside yourself.-----------------------------------Be blessed and filled with the holy spirit.

We listen to doctors who are speaking out against the vaccine mandates plaguing nations around the world and how it is effecting those who are choosing to protect themselves from the experiment. Could this be ushering the "mark of the beast?" We have a jam packed episode full of incredible information and clues about where we are headed. Stay vigilant and remember, anyone who attempts to take away your freedom is a threat to your safety. What does this mean? NSW will reopen to the vaccinated only as part of their "New World Order" plan. Countdown starts to implement "knife control" as the NZ Govt moves to legislate new anti-terror laws on the eve of the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Tim and Dieuwe discuss on Trad Tasman Talk. The NSW Government announced their roadmap to freedom for the vaccinated only, the lockdown will only end for double vaccinated residents when the state hits 70% double vaccinated. Premier Gladys Berejiklian stated she did not want to be around the unvaccinated, her Chief Health Officer Dr. Kerry Chant stated they were looking at what contact tracing looks like in the New World Order. Last year NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said New World Order twice. Businesses desperate for the government to allow them to reopen have released pro-vaccination ads. Victoria Bitter tweaked their famous "I've got it now' ad. This was released when residents of locked-down apartment towers in Sydney are having their excess alcohol confiscated by NSW Health. A federal court challenge to the closure of houses of worship during lockdowns was rejected. Victoria Police have shut down and fined members of Melbourne's Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community who gathered at a local synagogue to mark Rosh Hashanah. In NZ Jacinda Ardern is still pursuing Covid Zero, as such Auckland remains in alert level 4 lockdown with daily local cases still being reported. One of NZ's biggest pro-lockdown personalities has been exposed as a rank hypocrite Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Siouxsie Wiles who was filmed frolicking at the beach with Auckland University Associate Professor Dr. Nicola Gaston. Mask enforcement is being stepped up with even those with legitimate exemptions being denied access to supermarkets because of the circulation of counterfeit mask exemptions. A week after the Countdown Supermarket stabbing terror attack the ISIS-inspired terrorist who was shot dead by police after has been named: 32-year-old Sri Lankan national Ahamed Aathil Mohamed Samsudeen. It has also come to light that NZ authorities could have done much more to revoke the terrorist's residency and deport him, despite this the government believes passing new anti-terror laws is the answer. Countdown supermarkets whose stores have now experienced two mass stabbings have taken their knives and scissors off their shelves. Ivermectin an anti-parasitic drug has been promoted by some as a treatment for covid-19. However, due to purported overdose in a covid positive case in NSW Australia's TGA announced they were restricting doctors prescribing of Ivermectin to patients. The US mainstream media fell for a fake story that claimed Oklahoma hospitals were overwhelmed due to ivermectin overdoses. Joe Rogan has claimed ivermectin treated his covid illness. Tomorrow is 20 years since the 9/11 US terrorist attacks, the War on Terror gave birth to an expanded national security and surveillance state which we are still living under. The War on Terror has not made the world more free or safe with the Taliban returning to power in Afghanistan. Cricket Australia canceled an upcoming men's test match against Afghanistan to be held in Hobart because the Taliban won't allow women to play cricket. New South Wales chief health officer Dr. Kerry Chant mentioned the New World Order during a press conference about contact tracing, sending the internet into a frenzy. Is this a simple slip of the tongue or are the authoritarian elite exposing their true agenda? Speaking of authoritarians, radio host Howard Stern recently said the unvaccinated don't deserve freedom and shouldn't be treated by hospitals because they didn't take the jab. Salon issued a similar statement in an article saying that "it's OK to blame the unvaccinated" for the current pandemic problems. As more famous figures espouse this rhetoric, the true vaccine villains are finally showing everyone who they are. Note: The content of this video does not provide medical advice. It is an absolute excoriation of the lie that is being fed to people regarding overflowing hospitals due to the unvaccinated, which has led to the reported cancellation of elective surgery. The healthcare system in Canada has been teetering on the brink of collapse for decades. Now, there's a convenient excuse to blame it all on.Shaye dances around and gives a very complicated non response to Mike.Good stuff.-------------------Hour 1, segment 2: (AUDIO) Leana Wen gives her wishlist for Biden's big speech today.Nauseating and sickly sweet. She's starving for further tyranny.-------------------(AUDIO) Dr. Kerry Chant, the Chief Health Officer of New South Wales, sent social media into a frenzy on Thursday, after she referred to a post-lockdown “new world order” during a Covid-19 press conference.https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/australians-shocked-after-nsw-health-officer-says-post-lockdown-sydney-will-be-a-new-world-order/----------------------(AUDIO) A past clip of demon George Soros where he says Obama had to convince China to join a NEW WORLD ORDER.-----------------------(AUDIO) According to a report by NCA NewsWire, Australians in lock down are being monitored by the government with particular regards to their alcohol intake, which is now subject to restrictions by the state.https://americanuckradio.com/current-events/report-locked-down-australians-alcohol-intake-monitored-and-restricted-by-the-state/------------------------Enjoy all this, and more, in a powerful hour 1 from Mike.Hour 2, segment 1: Americanuck Radio welcomes Kari Simpson of the Canadian Voters Association back to the program. The BC CDC is pushing vaccines for school children without parental consent. Are children 12 and younger capable of giving "mature minor consent" to a medical procedure? The goalposts keep moving, and Kari discusses this. Forgive us for patting ourselves on the back this week but, having surpassed 20,000 downloads and listens to the podcast, I reckon we've earned a little self-indulgence. Suffice it to say that the audience for our weekly ramblings is growing steadily, and that has to be good. This week we turn our attention to the extended moratorium on rental evictions and the compensation for landlords who reduce the rents of tenants who are doing it tough. You can read all about that HERE. Then we discuss France's vaccine passport and how people are taking that up with gusto (or should that be elan?). Sue thinks the idea of vaccine passports is complicated – Jimmy vehemently disagrees. You can also read some other arguments, both pro and con, HERE. LISTEN HERE We talk about how and why rental vacancies are going up in Melbourne but have plateaued in Sydney. We dig into Building Commissioner David Chandler's latest attempts to expose the shonks and swindlers in the building trade, this time by focussing his laser vision on the worst of the worst certifiers and sending them a collective “My office, now!” Jimmy talks about the odd letter from Kerry Chant's office that took a week to confirm it was real. By the way, it came out after this podcast was in the can but we now know why it was issued, as NSW Health gets ready blitz apartment blocks. We ask why 90 per cent of strata professionals and committee members would not recommend buying off the plan to friends, family or colleagues. Sue takes us to Green Square where the population density is greater than in New Delhi but the facilities there make it a very nice place to live. And we discuss why cats are OK for apartment blocks but not so great at ground level. That's all, and more, in this week's Flat Chat Wrap. TRANSCRIPT IN FULL Jimmy 00:00 We achieved quite a milestone this weekend, as regards this podcast. Sue 00:05 Yeah? Jimmy 00:05 Overnight, we had our 20,000th download. Sue 00:11 Wow! 20,000? Jimmy 00:12 Yeah, so that's spread over 138 podcasts, but still, it's okay. Sue 00:18 Oh, that's amazing. Congratulations, Jimmy. Jimmy 00:23 We have probably more than 50% more listeners, than we had this time last year. Sue 00:28 Oh, fantastic! Jimmy 00:30 I read something that said, if you get more than 135 listeners in your first two weeks, you are in the top 50% of podcasts in the world and we're way ahead of that. Sue 00:47 That's great. Well, thank you, everybody listening, for supporting us. Thanks for listening in. Jimmy 00:52 It could be one person, listening to it 20,000 times. I doubt that that's the case; I'd be a bit worried if it was. Sue 00:58 They'd be in hospital by now, I'd imagine. Jimmy 00:59 Getting back to this week's podcast, we're going to talk about David Chandler's battle to build confidence in apartment building. Things like certifiers; he's putting certifiers under the microscope and the irony of trying to build confidence by pointing out problems. Before that, we're going to talk about the continuing payments for rent reductions available to landlords. The evictions moratorium has also been extended. And, we're just going to talk about high-density living. I'm Jimmy Thomson, I write the Flat Chat column for the Australian Financial Review. Sue 01:27 And I'm Sue Williams and I write about property for Domain. Jimmy 01:42 And this is the Flat Chat Wrap. [MUSIC] Jimmy So, the government has extended the moratorium on evictions and the compensation for rent reductions. Sue 02:08 That's in New South Wales, not in Victoria; I don't think they have a moratorium there. Jimmy 02:14 Well, New South Wales is obviously at the moment, in a lot more trouble with COVID than anywhere else in Australia. Sue 02:21 That's right and, it's been going on for longer. Jimmy 02:22 Yeah. So,

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he can't immediately increase Pfizer vaccines for New South Wales after a national cabinet meeting with the states and territories on Friday. It comes after New South Wales Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, declared Sydney's coronavirus outbreak as a national emergency, with authorities struggling to get the Delta variant under control.

With infection numbers in Sydney refusing to budge, the head of Australia's top medical body has warned that the NSW capital could be facing an "indefinite" lockdown - with only one clear pathway out.President of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), Omar Khorshid, said the city was looking at living with restrictions for the "foreseeable future until everyone is vaccinated", urging Sydneysiders to obey health orders."Of course, we don't have enough vaccines to vaccinate the whole of Sydney communities so the only option is to get on top of this virus right now," Dr Khorshid said. Australian PM Scott Morrison with Dr Omar Khorshid. Photo / Getty Images"Vaccines are doing their job, we know they are doing their job and we are seeing a number of young people in hospital in ICU, rather than the huge numbers of older people we saw in Victoria."That is a sign that the vaccines are working. Vaccines are our way out of this in the longer term but for right now, for today in Sydney, the only way to stop this virus spreading is to stop people talking to each other, people coming close to each other, people breathing on each other, coughing on each other."We know this from the lessons we have learned throughout the lockdown, throughout the pandemic and our only option is to do what needs to be done right now here in Sydney."Adviser to the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Covid-19 response and UNSW epidemiologist, Mary-Louise McLaws, had a similarly grim warning about the length of Sydney's lockdown - currently pegged to end next Friday, July 30."We still need another three to four weeks because we need to get that proportion [of cases in people who haven't been in full lockdown] to zero," Professor McLaws told The Project last night."Once we've got that zero, then we need that to continue for 14 days to ensure we've mitigated everything."Now, you could lift some small restrictions off, but you wouldn't be able to lift all of them off until 28 days after that first zero of anybody out in the community that hadn't been in full lockdown."It's a long duration: "Expect another two months before we've absolutely eradicated it … but we don't have to stay in lockdown for that long."As NSW reported another 98 cases this morning, chief health officer Kerry Chant once again revealed exactly why every Australian should be desperate to get a Covid-19 vaccination.Of the 82 Sydneysiders – across a range of ages – currently in hospital with the virus, 24 are in intensive care — and of those, only one has had a single dose of the AstraZeneca jab."Vaccination is critical," Dr Chant told reporters."Can I just urge everyone in the community who is eligible for the vaccine to go forth and make an appointment. Go on to the eligibility checker and access the vaccine. I would urge anyone, particularly over 60, to go and get an AstraZeneca vaccine from their general practice and remember I have also said that GPs are working very hard and they will prioritise older individuals over younger in terms of bookings, because of the need to protect our elderly."Even one dose of AstraZeneca can have some effect, as well as one dose of the Pfizer, but two doses gives the optimal protection. And having two doses of the vaccine can really reduce your risk of hospitalisation and death associated with Covid."In a similar message to her state on Friday, the CHO said "it is essential for us to live somewhat normally with this Delta virus and any other variant we might get thrown out that we are going to have to be highly vaccinated as a population and also we are going to have to live with booster shots".While Dr Chant said she'd like for 80 per cent of the adult population in NSW to ultimately be vaccinated, former deputy chief medical officer Nick Coatsworth said lockdowns nationwide could no longer be needed in about four months — once 50 per cent of Australians are vaccinated.Speaking to The Australian Financial Review, Dr Coatsworth said "...
The title of this week's episode, ANVIL, will be a word you'll wanna shout a lot during the start of this podcast, don't worry, the fact we've chosen it as a name for the episode means that your yelling of that word, whilst not being heard in any way, shape or form, will result in it being repeated back to you and also acknowledged by the time we get to the wrapping up of things. In between, well once Em's high school bestie Michael is ushered in, we get underway with thanks for Michael's introduction from our last episode, plus some advice for those hoping to become seasoned in front of a microphone. We also get a commentary on Michael's ability to change his look on the regular, and a full explain on why there won't be any videos of them this week on socials, safe to say someone is rocking a swollen eye accessory that isn't of their choosing, nor something they wanna be showing off either. Then we move on to how Sydney is coping with life in lockdown, this also allows for our first appearance of the Unicorn of Death, and a reflection on how her uncanny and ultimately depressing predictions, sometimes come home to roost. Of course Gladys is now having all her previous cocky statements brought up for a revisit, and also facing daily press conferences to discuss the latest developments as well. Thankfully, just like the daily press conferences in Victoria managed to offer up distractions, like Brett Sutton's facial hair and hot Auslan guy, NSW press conferences have also managed to deliver the distracting goods. Like their Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, who's done everything from almost wipe her eye with the OUTSIDE of her protective mask, to reading updates with broken reading glasses that sat lopsided on her face. Then Em and Michael need to talk through the PM Wars that erupted over claims Scomo had bungled the delivery of the Pfizer vaccine. Then claims that ex PM, Kevin Rudd had fixed it, which Dutton was having none of, and Health Minister Greg Hunt had a giggle about, then Malcom Turnball had a go, which meant Scomo had to step into the fray again. Basically it got hectic messy, so Em has been on a deep dive and got all the receipts. She's also low key, loving how petty and “game on moles'' it has all become. Finally we'll wrap up that ramble by offering up our second prediction from the Unicorn of Death, then it's on to the utterly adorable and low key brilliance of Ash Barty. Em and Michael are HUGE fans and are just so stoked about her incredible journey, which culminated in her show stopping win at Wimbledon during NAIDOC Week, they've got LOTS of gushing and approval to drop her way. Then before we close things out, we spend some time celebrating Michael's achievements of late, from the panic of re-writing TV scripts on the fly whilst trying to film around the restrictions of Sydney's lockdown, to the fact he now has two TV shows, in Five Bedrooms and The Newsreader, both ready to hit our screens at the exact same time. So get amongst the audio goodness and make sure you stick around for two beautiful pieces of advice at the very end, we promise you won't be disappointed. Learn more about your ad choices. NSW has recorded 77 new community Covid-19 cases and one death due to the virus - and Premier Gladys Berejiklian has warned the numbers are only going to get worse.Of the new locally acquired infections, 55 are linked to a known case or cluster – 39 are household contacts and 16 are close contacts – and the source of infection for 22 cases remains under investigation. At a press conference this afternoon, Berejiklian said the person who died - a woman in her 90s - acquired the virus through a household contact."Tragically we've seen one older person die and I want to extend my deepest condolences to their families and loved ones and [NSW chief health officer] Dr [Kerry] Chant will provide further details," she said."Regrettably, that person did acquire it within the household, within the home setting."She added that she expected tomorrow's numbers to be even worse."I'll be shocked if it's less than 100 this time tomorrow, of additional new cases," Berejiklian said. "So we can't stress enough the importance of not only following the rules but also realising the risk that the people who will suffer the most."The Premier urged everyone in Sydney to assume they had the virus and act accordingly to stem the spread of the state's Delta strain outbreak. There have been 566 community cases reported since June 16, 2021, when the first case in the Bondi cluster was reported. The state yesterday recorded 50 new locally acquired cases. Young people are being urged to abide by New South Wales' tight lockdown restrictions, as health authorities reveal a person in their 20s is currently in intensive care and on a ventilator after a Covid-19 diagnosis.NSW's chief health officer Kerry Chant said there were currently 43 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals, 10 of whom were in intensive care.Four people, including the person in their 20s, require ventilation."We have 14 people admitted to hospital at the moment with Covid-19 under the age of 55, and of those, seven are under the age of 35 and I'm just going to read this next piece very slowly," she said on Friday."Of the 10 people in ICU, one is in their 20s. One is in their 30s. One is in their 50s. Five are in their 60s and two are in their 70s."This trend has to be turned around, and the only way we can do so is by seeing a decline in numbers."Covid cannot affect people if you do not come into contact with them … That is the basis of the stay at home orders."Dr Chant's plea came as the state recorded 44 new cases on Friday, 29 of which were partially or fully out in the community while infectious.Lockdown rules tightenedNSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced tougher restrictions this afternoon as she warned the state wouldn't end lockdown until cases "get to zero or close to zero".She said today's record number was "the opposite of where we need or want the numbers to trend"."No state or nation or any country on the planet can live with the Delta variant when our vaccination rates are so low," she said."If we choose to live with this while the rates of vaccinations are at 9 per cent, we will see thousands and thousands of hospitalisations and deaths."That means "until we get to zero or close to zero, we cannot ease restrictions", and "in fact, based on the health advice, NSW will be further tightening restrictions in those areas that already have stay-at-home orders".Outdoor exercise has been reduced from 10 people to two people, and only within 10km of home.Only one person is allowed to leave home for essential shopping except under "exceptional circumstances".Funerals will also be reduced to 10 people. The new rules will take effect from 5pm today.Berejiklian said NSW might not exit lockdown next Friday."NSW is facing the biggest challenge we have faced since the pandemic started and I don't say that lightly," she said."And unless there is a dramatic change, unless there is a dramatic turnaround in the numbers, I can't see how we would be in a position to ease restrictions by next Friday, and that is why all of us need to work together."By Ellen Ransley, news.com.au

Trying to get a Covid-19 vaccination is a bit like the “Hunger Games”, according to the NSW Health Minister.Brad Hazzard offered the scathing review of the vaccine rollout while standing alongside the NSW Premier and chief health officer to deliver the latest Covid update. There have been 35 new cases of Covid in NSW, a huge spike on the 16 infections revealed on Sunday. While addressing the media, Mr Hazzard was probed about the commonwealth rollout.“It is almost a sense now of the ‘Hunger Games', of people chasing the vaccine,” he said.“Until we get enough vaccine (doses) and enough GPs actually at the frontline able to provide that vaccine into arms, we will continue to have effectively the Hunger Games going on here in NSW.”Brad Hazzard has described getting the jab as a bit like the Hunger Games. (Photo / NCA)He was quick to defend the federal government though.“It is easy to be critical in hindsight but the federal government did their best to try and get the vaccine when we didn't know what vaccines would become available,” he said.“Of course the AstraZeneca has had its challenges and Pfizer supplies haven't been great, so accepting that the federal government did their best at a difficult time to get as much vaccine as possible.“The focus should be on at the moment, and the federal government appears to be doing this, is to try to roll out as much vaccine as they have available. They are doing their best to get more vaccines.”A little more than 7 per cent of the Australian population is fully vaccinated and about eight million doses have been administered, well behind other developed nations.People queue for testing. (Photo / NCA)The sluggish rollout is a cause for concern as the nation grapples with Covid spot fires in several jurisdictions, particularly in NSW.Of the 35 new cases revealed on Monday, 24 were in isolation for their full infectious period.Four cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period and seven were in the community. There are five new cases associated with Virgin flight VA524 from the Gold Coast to Sydney on June 26, bringing the total number of infections linked to the flight to nine – eight passengers and a household contact. The aged care cluster stands at five. (Photo / NCA)“It is pleasing to see that we've contacted those individuals. We had already identified them as close contacts and they were isolating and therefore pose no other risk to the community,” NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant said. She warned anyone who was on that flight who was in isolation to remain at home for the full 14 days.Meanwhile, another two residents at an aged care home in Sydney have tested positive, taking that cluster to five. The two new infections are both women in their 70s. Only one of the women has been vaccinated.

Cases of Covid-19 in Australia are still on the rise. There have been new coronavirus cases in nearly every state this week, with most linked to existing outbreaks. New South Wales recorded 22 cases on day five of its lockdown, including student nurse who worked at two Sydney hospitals. The state's chief health officer Kerry Chant said the 24-year-old's positive test was a cause for concern. ABC reporter Lara Hyams spoke to Corin Dann.

Health officials are still racing to work out how a Sydney man caught Covid-19 amid concerns there are chains of transmission that continue to go "unrecognised" in the city."(The local case's) contact with the infectious person must have been very fleeting," chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant told reporters on Monday."We are concerned there are chains of transmission in the community that are unrecognised."We're not out of the risk period."Chant said the missing link between a returned US traveller and the man from Sydney's eastern suburbs had still not been found as of Monday morning. The man in his 50s and his wife tested positive to Covid-19 last week.Neither have links with hotel quarantine, border control or healthcare, sparking concerns about how he caught the disease.Health officials fear someone may have been unknowingly infectious and going about their business in the community.NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian agreed the man's contact with an infected person must have been brief. She said authorities have combed CCTV and spoken to "lots of people" to try and determine how he caught it, with the man even detailing the roads he had walked along to contact tracers."The concern is, if it's one or multiple people, who are those missing links it was a very fleeting meeting," Berejiklian told reporters."That suggests there could be a high level of contagion."New Zealand reopened its travel bubble with New South Wales overnight, with Health Minister Chris Hipkins saying earlier that he was " pleased with the way the response process has been managed".Hipkins said there was some specific advice for travellers to be aware of. This included:Anyone who is in Australia and was at any of the locations of interest at the times specified is asked to follow NSW health advice regarding isolation and testing and must not travel to New Zealand within 14 days from when they were at the location. As before, anyone who has arrived in New Zealand and who was at a location of interest at the specified time must self-isolate immediately and call Healthline for information on when they should be tested."Our officials remain in close contact with health officials in NSW and will continue to closely monitor the situation. Updates will be provided if there is any change to this latest advice," Hipkins said.- text by news.com.au. Additional reporting, NZ Herald
NSW has recorded one new locally acquired COVID-19 infection and expects more cases to be confirmed. Authorities believe the man, who has not been vaccinated, has been infectious since Friday. NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant said he had not been overseas or worked in Sydney's hotel quarantine system so authorities were keeping an open mind while working to find the source of the infection. There is an expectation more cases will be confirmed. What does it mean for New Zealanders travelling between the two nations... Two churches in Wollongong are among the latest venues added to the NSW COVID-19 alert list.Health authorities said on Tuesday a number of venues in the city of Wollongong, its inner western suburb of Figtree and Sydney's Mona Vale have been visited by confirmed COVID-19 cases.Sydney remains on alert with three new cases of COVID-19 revealed on Tuesday, all linked to the growing northern beaches cluster. But a case diagnosed in a Wollongong resident after the 8pm reporting period has authorities seriously concerned. The Wollongong person has recently visited Sydney, and the other two cases are from Sydney's north and the inner west, but none have been linked.“I am not ruling out they are linked to the Avalon cluster … the case from Wollongong had been in Sydney, but until those links are established all of us in Greater Sydney must be on high alert,” Ms Berejiklian said.Chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant said health authorities were only alerted to the new cases outside of Sydney early on Tuesday morning. The three cases recorded before 8pm are already in isolation. There's also been a dramatic drop in testing numbers despite the Premier's constant pleas for a higher turnout.
New South Wales has recorded seven new cases of coronavirus, all linked to Sydney's Northern Beaches cluster.NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant said that the Northern Beaches cluster has now risen to 122 cases and called for continued testing over the festive period.NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that in light of the new cases she will not yet be addressing restrictions around New Year's Eve."I appreciate frustration levels are increasing as we get closer to New Year's Eve and days we stay at home increase," she said. "We hope to have some clear information for everybody tomorrow."Berejiklian also reminded people that singing, dancing and speaking loudly were all "accelerants" of the virus to be avoided. It's believed the Northern Beaches cluster originated from a US strain of Covid-19. While this hasn't been confirmed, serological testing and PCR have largely pointed to the strain being of US origin."At this stage the only strain we have identified in the community is theUS-associated strain. But clearly our experts here in New South Wales are watching very closely information around the UK strain and also other parts of the world that are detecting a mutation," Berejiklian said. When asked about the possibility of future outbreaks, Berejiklian was blunt."I can't make any assurances that this won't happen again," she said."This is a very contagious disease. And I don't think any Government in any place on the planet can give an assurance that outbreaks won't occur."In fact, I think I said consistently we should expect outbreaks."She said that returning Australian citizens from overseas could create risk for future outbreaks but New South Wales have a "very, very strong system in place".Sydneysiders ignore restrictionsSydney's shopping precincts have been swarmed by bargain hunters looking for Boxing Day deals, just hours after Berejiklian praised the community for staying away. Some stores were nearly empty on Boxing Day morning, as customers heeded warnings to keep out of the CBD while NSW battles to contain its latest coronavirus outbreak. However, by mid-afternoon, crowds had flocked to popular shopping areas, including Pitt Street Mall and Parramatta Westfield.Photos captured lines forming outside stores and some - but not all - visitors wearing masks. The Parramatta Westfield in Sydney's west was seen heaving with shoppers.Although some were seen wearing masks, the majority were not following social distancing requirements."This makes me sick to my stomach - we will see the effects of this in a few days at Westmead," read one response to the Parramatta Westfield video."As a Victorian, this is heartbreaking. We stayed home for months, missed out on seeing family & friends while the rest of the country went about enjoying life and looking on us with disdain. NSW couldn't stay home for one week?! You were even allowed 10 adults over for Xmas!" shared another user.
Contact tracers are following dozens of lines of inquiry and officials are poring over CCTV footage as the NSW government scrambles to find the source of the growing cluster in Sydney's Northern Beaches.Such is the mystery surrounding the outbreak that the state's chief health officer has speculated that finding 'Patient Zero' could be a "challenge beyond us".Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced another 30 cases of community transmission on the peninsula on Sunday, bringing the number of cases associated with the cluster to 68.Almost all of the new infections – 28 – are directly linked to the Avalon cluster while two are under investigation, but were diagnosed in people living near Avalon.Genomic sequencing suggests the strain circulating in the community is of US origin might have come into the country via an infectious returned traveller who landed in Sydney on December 1.However, chief health officer Kerry Chant said there was still "no-one" pinpointed who could have brought that virus strain to the Northern Beaches."There is no-one else we have identified that could be the source," Dr Chant said."At the moment we are forensically looking at all of the journeys of that individual to see if there were any points associated with it."There is an intensive investigation underway and while a really do want to find the source, it may be that this is going to be a challenge beyond us."People line up at a Covid-19 testing site at Mona Vale Hospital on December 18 in Sydney. Photo / Getty ImagesDr Chant said the returned traveller, a woman, was infectious on the plane and stayed in hotel quarantine upon her arrival."We are trying to look and crossmatch any list, look for any people that may have been associated with anything to do with airports or quarantine facilities," she said."The investigation is far-ranging and we have a dedicated team and assistance looking at CCTV footage."We are being as thorough as we can. We probably have … at any one time, 10 or 20 lines of inquiry and we pursue them all concurrently."There is no one who wants to get to the bottom of this more than myself because if I understand the clear chains of transmission I can then better inform government about the risk."The problem we have at the moment is that I do not know how we got there so I do not know the person nor where that person has been."Health Minister Brad Hazzard was asked whether the virus could have made its way to the Northern Beaches via a person who was exempted from hotel quarantine. He told reporters there was "not a single case" where an exempted person had brought a positive case into the community.Berejiklian was more confident about the prospects of finding the source."Of course it is a concern to us that health experts are yet to identify how the cluster was transmitted into the community or how it started in Avalon (but) we certainly will get to the bottom of that," she said.Acting chief medical officer Paul Kelly said it was most important to find out where the cases had been while infectious."And also as is the normal case now, particularly in NSW, looking back from when they became infected to where they had been in the week or two before that," Professor Kelly said."That will give us many clues and hopefully that will also include where this missing link, if you like, may be."
New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has reported 23 new cases of coronavirus in the state and will impose a lockdown for the Northern Beaches area from 5pm (local time) yesterday.21 of the new cases are linked to the Northern beaches cluster and two remain under investigation. The Premier said it is likely the state will see a repeat of those numbers in the days to come and a localised, mandatory lockdown was necessary."Based on the likelihood that we are going to expect to see a repeat of those numbers across this 24 hours, given what we know from the testing, given what we know from the likely number of cases, we are going to put in health orders for the northern beaches from 5 o'clock today to essentially go back to the restrictions people experienced in March," she said. That means, for residents within the Northern Beaches area, only leaving home for essential purposes such as for work, for compassionate grounds, for exercise or to go shopping. The stay-at-home order will go into effect from today and continue through to midnight on Wednesday.Berejiklian also urged people who might have plans around the city to "consider changing those plans on staying at home", warning "we do not want the virus to spread outside of the Northern Beaches".NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard told northern beaches locals to cancel any plans they have and to "take it seriously" as the outbreak continues to grow."If you have got lunches with a lot of friends today, cancel it. If you are going out for big functions this afternoon, cancel it," Hazzard said."If you are going to a gym, hopefully the gyms have closed, they will be closed by 5pm but I would not be going to a gym. We have an outbreak in Avalon, we do know that the numbers are increasing but we do know that we need to be really cautious."Mystery surrounds 'patient zero'NSW health authorities are still not yet confident they have found the original source of the outbreak, making it difficult to ensure every transmission route is being investigated.Genomic testing shows the virus likely came from the US, however NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant said on Thursday her "anxiety" was that "we haven't found the direct transmission route".This means officials cannot be sure that they've "locked every transmission line".University of Queensland virologist Professor Ian Mackay told the ABC finding the original source was critical."If we can find the index case, that means we can work forward from there to make sure all the contacts have been identified," he said."If we can't find the source, there's always a possibility that some cases have been missed."Northern Beaches in 'voluntary' lockdownPhotos have shown the Northern Beaches community already went into a "voluntary" lockdown last night. The usually packed Manly Corso area was deserted on Friday night after 28 cases of coronavirus were linked to the beachside suburbs.Across the Northern Beaches, the majority of pubs also opted to close.Earlier on Friday, Berejiklian asked residents to stay in their homes for all but essential reasons. "Do not leave your home", Berejiklian implored the 250,000 people living in the Northern Beaches area.
New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has warned of tough new coronavirus restrictions for Greater Sydney as the city's cases increased by 10 overnight. The outbreak — which is predominantly spreading in Sydney's Northern Beaches, prompting Berejiklian to issue a localised 'stay at home' warning — has now grown to 28 cases. The advice, which came into effect for the Northern Beaches area of 250,000 people yesterday, is asking residents to stay in their homes for all but essential reasons. "Do not leave your home", Berejiklian implored. The Premier had earlier warned the state to "brace themselves" and expect more cases as contact tracers race to get on top of the cluster.Berejiklian said there was potential seeding out of the region after people who visited the Northern Beaches returned to their homes around Sydney."The number of people who were at the (Avalon) RSL event on December 11 and then the (Avalon) bowling club on Sunday were substantial and obviously they have got household contacts and contacts of theirs," she said. The Premier said she didn't want to "go down the mandatory path" and order additional restrictions – but she would if necessary."I will if we have to," she said."I'm hoping it won't get to further measures, let's just see the next 24 to 48 hours, but we won't hesitate to take on health advice."We believe what we have in place matches the risk."NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard had some harsher words for the state, describing the outbreak as the result of "an avalanche of complacency"."We're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic … the Avalon cluster has served as very timely reminder that there is no room for complacency."QueenslandQueensland Premier Annastacia Palaszcuk today announced three new cases for the state. Two are in hotel quarantine and the final case is the woman linked to the Northern Beaches cluster, who travelled from Sydney to Queensland on Wednesday.A number of health alerts have been issued for Queensland after the woman tested positive last night. The woman is now self-isolating back in Sydney.Queensland will enforce mandatory hotel quarantine from Saturday for anyone who has been in the Northern Beaches region, while those who have already entered have been told to isolate for 14 days from their last visit to the hotspot.Queensland chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said her team will continue to watch as the outbreak develops."We just have to continue to be really cautious," she said."This is a rapidly evolving situation in the Northern Beaches and could well expand through other parts of Sydney.""Superspreader event"One expert warns the explosion of new cases is likely linked to a single superspreader event.Professor Nancy Baxter, a clinical epidemiologist from the University of Melbourne, said the outbreak was "extremely concerning" and warned cases will likely continue to rise."It looks like the super spreading event likely happened December 11," she told ABC's News Breakfast."You've now had seven days where this has been circulating. Although a number of people have been linked to the cluster, we don't know who the original source was."That person has been circulating for that period of time. I would anticipate a number of additional people will be identified as having Covid-19."Baxter said the person likely had mild or no symptoms and might no longer be infectious but was probably unknowingly spreading the virus for a significant period of time.NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant today said the spread of infections "clearly shows we've had a significant seeding event occur, we think, on December 11".Berejiklian revealed this morning genomic sequencing indicated the virus was from an overseas source and said the NSW community would get any information about affected venues or people "as soon as I do".International aircrew arriving in SydneyFrom Tuesday, international aircrew landing in Sydney will be put into police-managed hotel quar...
NSW's virus-free streak has come to an end after a quarantine worker tested positive to Covid-19 after working across two Sydney hotels, one of which housed returned travellers. The woman worked at the Novotel and Ibis hotels in Darling Harbour, with staff now on high alert.NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said she carried out domestic duties at the hotels and would travel to work from Minto, in Sydney's southwest, by train and light rail.Five family members, who the woman lives with, have so far tested negative to Covid-19 but will complete 14 days' isolation. It is too early to tell how she caught the virus and whether or not it was from a returned traveller.Hazzard told Sunrise he was alerted to the new case in the early hours of Thursday morning."We would have been saying today is 26 days without any cases, but we now have one case," he said.Hazzard said he woke up chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant this morning to talk about the case."We are working through the issues," he said.Health authorities are now racing to alert close contacts and investigations are under way.The woman worked at the Ibis on Friday, November 27, and the Novotel – which is one of the city's quarantine hotels – on November 28, 29 and 30.Anyone who worked at those two hotels on those days has been told to monitor for symptoms and self-isolate until they are tested and receive a negative result.News of the case came just hours after NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed the latest wave of eased restrictions, particularly around venues and stadiums.Hazzard confirmed the new case would not influence those changes. When asked whether Thursday's case would trigger any change to restrictions, he said: "I doubt it very much."We have a fantastic public health team that manages these things extremely well."We are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic."He acknowledged when the government revealed changes to restrictions, Berejiklian was transparent in the fact she expected more cases to pop up."As Health Minister, I anticipate that because we are in a pandemic," Hazzard said."If you've got any symptoms, no matter how mild, please don't go to work, please don't go shopping and stay home and wait for test results."NSW Health released a statement that said it was conducting wider testing of hotel staff."The person, who lives in southwestern Sydney, travelled from Minto to Central and on the light rail from Central to Darling Harbour on a number of occasions while potentially infectious," the department said in a statement."NSW Health will be asking people who travelled on the same services to get tested immediately and self-isolate, until further advised by NSW Health. The route and line details will be provided later today."The new case comes a day after Chant told reporters the virus was "virtually eliminated" in NSW."I think that on the balance of probability, we probably have virtually eliminated community transmission," Chant said."There's always room for doubt there because the virus can be so stealthy … There are no absolutes with Covid."But all our intelligence would suggest it's been long enough [since] having a locally acquired case where we don't know the source."Chant did, however, caution that new cases were likely to pop up.Twelve Sydney suburbs were put on alert on Wednesday night after traces of the virus were found in the sewage system.Fragments of the virus that causes Covid-19 were detected in samples taken on November 29 from the sewerage system that drains parts of Riverstone, Vineyard, Marsden Park, Shanes Park, Quakers Hill, Oakville, Box Hill, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Nelson, Schofields and Colebee.Meanwhile, just last week, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the state would move to a "hot spot" system and there would have to be a "massive outbreak" for them to slam the border shut again."There are so many variables here, each particular case has got to be looked at on its merits and [we have...

Here is the news.A Chinese envoy to the United Nations has called on the international community to adapt to the new trends and features of terrorist groups and enhance cooperation in fighting terrorism.Recently, multiple terrorist attacks occurred in Egypt, Afghanistan, Britain, France, Iran and other places, causing severe casualties and property losses. Chinese's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations made the remarks at a Security Council meeting which focused on the threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts.He stressed that terrorism is the common enemy of mankind and its impact goes beyond borders; and no country can address terrorism by itself or keep itself from terrorism. The Chinese envoy called for measures to reach international consensus, deal with the root causes of terrorism, stem the transnational movement of terrorists, cut off their financing channels and fight against their propaganda. He said the international community should put solving regional hot-spot issues as a top priority, and work to promote political dialogues to address regional conflicts and maintain regional peace, stability and development, so as to eradicate the root cause of terrorism. This is Special English.China is working on reusable launch vehicles and has achieved progress in some key areas.A carrier rocket official says the processes under development include parachute-landing and propulsion-landing. Reusable lift-body launchers will be developed in three stages, namely, rocket-engine partial reusable vehicle, rocket-engine full reusable vehicle and combined cycle-engine reusable vehicle. The official said the Long March carrier rockets still have room for improvement, adding that China is developing a heavy-lift launch vehicle with a payload of 140 tonnes to low Earth orbit and 50 tonnes to lunar transfer orbit. The heavy-lift carrier rocket is currently called the Long March-9, and it should be sent into space by 2030.A low-cost commercial medium launch vehicle, the Long March-8, is under development, and based on the Long March-8, a new high-orbit medium launch vehicle should be designed to improve the Long March series and enhance competitiveness. You're listening to Special English. China's Food and Drug Administration has approved a new-generation of heart valve replacement product, which greatly reduces surgery time and increases survival rate. The developers announced recently that the J-Valve has passed clinical tests and will be put into use across China.Traditional solutions require doctors to make a big incision on the patients' chests and open their hearts to put the prosthetic valve inside manually. The process takes about four hours and poses risks of wrong positioning of the valve and loss of blood. The J-Valve system features minimally invasive surgery. It is easier to implant and provides automatic positioning of the valve. Doctors only watch an electronic screen and operate outside the patients' bodies. The whole procedure lasts about 10 minutes. This is Special English. The World Health Organization has started a "smoke-free generation" media campaign in Beijing targeting young people in China.A World Health Organization representative says China is in the grip of a national tobacco epidemic, and children are most susceptible with cigarettes portrayed as fashionable and alluring in popular culture.According to World Health Organization, over half of Chinese adult men smoke, two thirds of whom started as young adults. By 2014, 73 percent Chinese students had been exposed to secondhand smoke. The official says there is nothing cool about smoking, but there is something empowering about choosing to live a healthy, smoke-free life.Since China ratified the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in 2005, the country has made a number of tobacco control efforts, including banning tobacco advertisements, increasing tobacco taxes and putting forward regional smoking bans.As of 2016, 18 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, had implemented regional smoking bans.China has set a target to reduce the smoking rate among people aged 15 and older to 20 percent by 2030 from the current 28 percent. One in 20 pregnant women in the U.S. territories with confirmed Zika virus infection had a baby or fetus with Zika virus-associated birth defects. Among the women with confirmed Zika infection during the first trimester, eight percent, or nearly one in 12, had a baby or fetus with Zika virus-associated birth defects.A government report, the first from the U.S. territories, represents the largest number of completed pregnancies with laboratory confirmation of Zika virus infection to date. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says as these latest findings illustrate, Zika virus poses a serious threat to pregnant women and their babies, regardless of when the infection occurs during the pregnancy. It says women in the U.S. territories and elsewhere who have continued exposure to mosquitoes carrying Zika are at risk of infection. The government must remain vigilant and committed to preventing new Zika infections. The new analysis reviewed the cases of 2,550 women with possible Zika virus infections who completed their pregnancies, of which 1,508 had confirmed Zika virus infections. In this report, more than 120 pregnancies resulted in Zika-associated birth defects. This is Special English.Researchers at the University of California in San Francisco have found that older people with persistent pain show quicker declines in memory as they age and are more likely to have dementia years later.Findings from their study, which appears to be the first to make this association, indicate that chronic pain could somehow be related to changes in the brain that contribute to dementia. The researchers analyzed data from 10,000 participants aged 60 and up over a 12-year period. The participants who said they were persistently troubled by moderate or severe pain in both years 1998 and 2000 declined 9 percent faster in tests of memory function over the next 10 years than those who said they were not troubled by pain. Those who complained about persistent pain also had a small but significantly increased likelihood of developing dementia overall.Researchers say the findings point toward new ways of thinking about how to protect older people from the cognitive insults of aging.Elderly people need to maintain their cognition to stay independent. Up to one in three older people suffer from chronic pain, so understanding the relationship between pain and cognitive decline is an important first step toward finding ways to help this population. You're listening to Special English. Now the news continues.U.S. researchers studying autism say they were now able to use brain scans to detect functional changes in high-risk babies as young as six months of age and then predict who would be diagnosed with the condition at age two.Autism affects roughly one out of every 68 children in the United States. Siblings of children diagnosed with autism are at higher risk of developing the disorder.Although early diagnosis and intervention can help improve outcomes for children with autism, there currently is no method to diagnose the disease before children show symptoms. The current study is conducted by a research team led by investigators at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The study focused on the brain's functional connectivity, or how regions of the brain work together during different tasks and during rest.Using an imaging technique called functional connectivity magnetic resonance imaging, the researchers have scanned 59 high-risk, six-month-old infants while they slept naturally. The children were deemed high-risk because they have older siblings with autism. At the age of two, 11 of the 59 infants in this group were diagnosed with autism, and nine of the 11 infants would go on to have autism. This is Special English. The Australian State of New South Wales' health department has announced that it will ban sugary soft drinks in all hospitals and care facilities by the end of this year, in order to combat the growing problem of obesity. The move comes as part of its "Make Healthy Normal" campaign, which aims to achieve a five percent reduction in overweight and obesity rates in adults by 2020.Chief health officer Kerry Chant said there's no better way to start than right here on our own doorstep. A new study by University of Washington transportation engineers indicates that delivering packages with drones can reduce carbon dioxide emissions in certain circumstances as compared to truck deliveries. The study suggests that drones tend to have carbon dioxide emissions advantages over trucks when the drones don't have to fly very far to their destinations or when a delivery route has few recipients; and they compete especially well for small, light packages, such as a bottle of medicine or a kid's bathing suit. However, the carbon benefits erode as the weight of a package increases, since unmanned aerial vehicles have to use additional energy to stay aloft with a heavy load. The study compares carbon dioxide emissions and vehicle miles traveled from drone and truck deliveries in 10 different, real-world scenarios in Los Angeles, Southern California. The study noted that it's unlikely that drones will be used for all delivery applications but that there are some contexts in which they appear to make sense, such as shorter trips in less densely developed communities, or in controlled places like a military base or campus. This is Special English."Wonder Woman" of Warner Bros. topped the box office in North America with an estimated 100 million U.S. dollars on its debut weekend, making the Patty Jenkins-directed superhero film the biggest ever opening weekend for a female director. The latest DC Comics superhero movie is the first big-budget superhero movie with a female lead to be directed by a woman.
