When Archer and T'Pol find the Syrannites in the caves, they reunite with Mrs. T and learn T'Pau wasn't the United Earth Embassy bomber. But after Archer tells the Syrannites that he's carrying Surak's katra, he leads them to an important ancient relic while the High Command threatens war. How is Ben like T'Pau? Which type of prison cell feels like a very Vulcan idea? What's the main thing that keeps Adam out of cults? It's the episode that's fascinated by the idea of going full torch.Support the production of The Greatest GenerationGet a thing at podshop.biz!Sign up for our mailing list!Follow The Game of Buttholes: The Will of the Riker - Quantum LeapThe Greatest Generation is produced by Wynde PriddySocial media is managed by Rob Adler and Bill TilleyMusic by Adam Ragusea & Dark MateriaFriends of DeSoto for: Labor | Democracy | JusticeDiscuss the show using the hashtag #GreatestGen and find us on social media:YouTube | Facebook | X | Instagram | TikTok | Mastodon | Bluesky | ThreadsAnd check out these online communities run by FODs: Reddit | USS Hood Discord | Facebook group | Wikia | FriendsOfDeSoto.social Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. BT & Sal dive into the week's Three Random Questions, tackling life's unexpected dilemmas with their usual passionate intensity: Rewatch or New? Given limited free time, do you prioritize going back to rewatch classic, beloved shows (like The Sopranos or Star Wars), or do you dedicate that time to watching new content? The Ticket Test: If you offer someone free tickets, do you let them know how good (or bad) the seats are upfront, or is their genuine interest in spending time with you all the commitment you need? (Hint: The guys agree that asking about the seats is "tacky!") The Fan's Pain: Are you a sports fan who immerses yourself in the misery of a tough loss, listening to hours of post-game coverage for a sense of "therapy" (like Sal), or do you avoid and ignore the pain completely afterward (like BT)?
Bangarang! Emilio, Madeline, and Julian fly, fight, and crow their way through this next "Unorthodox Holiday Movie" suggestion, and this is a special one, a movie suggested to them by multiple guests - "Hook", Steven Spielberg's take on the story of Peter Pan, released in 1991 starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts and more. The group welcomes back Tony-nominated performer, teacher, father, and "Hook" enthusiast and suggester Rob McClure to discuss this film from all angles. How do you square your experiences with the film as a kid versus revisiting it as an adult? Does Spielberg have good reason to dislike it? How much Peter Pan background is needed to fully enjoy 'Hook', or does it stand alone? The group discusses Spielberg's knack for getting great performances from children, Robin Williams' incredible range, Rufio's undeniable appeal, the elaborate sets, John Williams' underrated score, and its messages related to parenthood. Rob even brings a robust background in the J.M. Barrie's original text (and a collectible trading card) to the conversation, and even pulls out his highlighted copy to try to get to bottom of a pressing question. It's a great discussion about one of the 1990s most rewatched VHS tapes, and more beloved childhood favorites. Rob McClure has earned Tony nominations for his roles in the Broadway productions of Mrs. Doubtfire and Chaplin, and has also appeared in Something Rotten!, Mary Poppins, Hello Dolly, Beetlejuice, and many more productions On- and Off-Broadway. We're FINALY back to the queue. Are you angry, punching someone, or in a mob negotiation? Then Millers Crossing may be right for you. It's a beautiful, chaotic, slang-riddled escape where everyone looks great in a hat and absolutely no one uses language the way the rest of the planet agreed English should work. The politics are murky, the violence is constant, and half the characters sound like they were raised by bootleggers and crossword puzzles. Anthony discovers Steve Buscemi was once young enough to pass for a regular human. Elise wonders if this is a good fit for her headspace. Nick considers pooping someone. Together we attempt to solve the film's greatest mystery: how many coats, hats, and suspenders can one man wear while still being considered sexually available? So grab your hat, your emotional support bottle of whiskey, and your questionable life choices, because Miller's Crossing has been sitting in the queue long enough and Fair Weather Geoff deserves closure. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100150/

When Dr. Soong wants to hide all of his augments in the Briar Patch, Malik pitches a plan to start a war between the Klingons and Starfleet. But after Persis continues to play both sides by helping Soong escape to the Entrepreneur's brig, Malik decides to blow up the Bird of Prey leaving only one family member to serve time. Who was the older brother Ben needed growing up? What is Soong's record? Which upgrade comes with a premium hole saw? It's the episode with a bad bit moment that gets off on a technicality.
