VYS0041 | Technologies of Imagination - Vayse to Face with Bel Senlle - Show Notes In the final episode of season 2, Hine and Buckley talk to a guest who ended up on Vayse after she appeared to Hine in a dream: Bel Senlle - artist, tarot reader, flower herbalist and creator of one of the most stylish and magical tarot decks that money can buy, the Clarity Deck. The discussion runs all the way from whether divination is reliable or deceitful, the question of whether tarot is supernatural or psychological, how Bel created the clarity deck and how she may have had some help from the other side, Bel does a reading for Vayse... and we finally try to get to the bottom of why a certain card is haunting Buckley... (Recorded 8 July 2024) Thanks to Bel for her time and for answering our weird questions and thanks as always to Keith for the show notes - give the man a follow: @peakflow.bsky.social We'll be back in September with more weird stuff... Greg Alba joins Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon (Cinepals) for their reaction after they covered Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, War For The Planet Of The Apes, And 1968 Planet Of The Apes! The story takes place 300 years later. The world is now ruled by apes, and humans have been reduced to a primitive state. The protagonist, Noa, is a young chimpanzee on a quest to find the truth about his world and his people. He discovers an ancient human artifact that could change everything—technology that could give apes the upper hand in their struggle against the remaining humans. The antagonist, Proximus Caesar, a power-hungry bonobo, wants to use the human technology to rule over all apes, resembling the Tony Soprano of the ape world, only with more fur and less pasta. Noa sets out on a journey to find the truth about the artifact and his people, meeting a colorful cast of characters along the way, including Nova, a feral human girl who becomes Noa's companion; Raka, an orangutan who helps Noa on his quest; and Trevathan, a human advisor to Proximus Caesar. The twist reveals that Proximus Caesar is a descendant of Caesar, the original leader of the ape revolution, akin to Darth Vader of the ape world, only with more fur and less breathing problems. In the climax, Noa and his allies face off against Proximus Caesar and his army in a battle reminiscent of "The Lord of the Rings" meets "Planet of the Apes," but with more bananas and less jewelry. Noa defeats Proximus Caesar and destroys the human technology, preventing a new era of ape dominance, and becomes the new leader of the apes, restoring peace.  Follow Tara Erickson: Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@TaraErickson Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/taraerickson/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/thetaraerickson Follow Andrew Gordon on Socials:  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@MovieSource Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/agor711/?hl=en Twitter:  https://twitter.com/Agor711 Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ Music Used In Manscaped Ad:  Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ POWERED BY @GFUEL Visit https://gfuel.ly/3wD5Ygo and use code REJECTNATION for 20% off select tubs!! Reboots are all the rage, or at least they were in 2011. Planet of the Apes gets another turn at the Reboot process with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It's a film that has aged remarkably well over the last decade plus. A large portion of the credit goes to Andy Serkis, who the Visitors will be praising a lot here and in the remaining episodes to come. There are also some other actors in here that end up getting outshined by a CGI chimp, including Logan Roy?!? Also, the Visitors recall some of the reboots and remakes that came out in the first decade of the 2000s. Take a spin down memory lane and download this episode now!

For our seventh episode studying the film series which once asked us to go ape, we find ourselves in a state-of-the-art- circa 2011 anyways- digital playground with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the first of the most recent trilogy of reimagined primate action. Listen as we first discuss some recent films we've seen, including Robert Altman's 1979 uncharacteristic bore Quintet and the newly released Don't Breathe 2, which of course sparked a brief conversational revisit of the canny 2016 original. Upon finally getting around to the 2011 simian film, we weigh the various means through which this seventh entry retooled the franchise for yet another new generation, attempt to traverse across the tricky minefield that is James Franco as unscathed as we can, and do our best to come to terms with the likely permanent arrival of computer-generated apes. We kickstart our monthly reviews for the modern Planet Of The Apes trilogy with 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (it's a bit of a mouthful innit). In this origin story showcasing the beginning of the Apes' revolution on Earth, pre-defamed James Franco raises a hyper intelligent chimp named Caesar. Essentially Caesar goes on to be treated poorly by Draco Malfoy (who would've thought) and brings together a small army of sanctuary apes to escape San Francisco. Hopefully you enjoy the movie as much as we did. But either way no one can deny this simple truth: the CGI is crazy good!

We all know or have herd of the Planet Of The Apes, right? Well the newest edition to the, we will say "saga", is The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, starring James Franco, and Frieda Pinto, at least as far as the human stars are concerned, in our opinion the Ape Caesar, is the real star in the film played by Andy Serkis. As you guessed we where surprised and kind of disappointed by the lack of poop being tossed by the monkeys, but give REEL TIME latest PODCAST a listen and see what we really think of the movie.
