“Kidnappers are just businessmen looking for a great deal” That's how Scott Walker, legendary hostage negotiator reframes his work (with a 93% success rate) in high stakes situations you can apply to yours. Let's call a spade a spade. You can feel like a hostage in your job search. Every interview can fire off an emotion. Your future, in limbo. Your finances handcuffed Your head, unclear who to trust, including yourself. We can all learn from Scott starting with: The River of Emotion: A metaphor to overcome emotional hijacking. His tip, observe NOT absorb. Stand on the riverbank without swimming in the current. The 3-2-1 Formula: Sort your challenges into three buckets: What you can control, influence, or must ignore Trust as the Golden Thread: Understand how trust is the foundation of all successful negotiations. The simple (but not easy) principle: do what you say you're going to do. Embracing Conflict: Learn why the "conflict call" is often necessary to establish boundaries and expectations. Having direct, candid, kind conversations enhances your value and presence. The 30-Second Reset: Practice pausing throughout your day to feel the feeling and drop the story. This simple habit builds the emotional muscle needed for higher-stakes situations. Negotiating our emotional regulation isn't limited to hostage situations or boardrooms - it's simply "a conversation with purpose" that we all engage in daily. Like what you hear? Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, now president of Young America's Foundation, joined The Guy Benson Show to break down the tough election night for conservatives in Wisconsin, where liberal Supreme Court judge Susan Crawford defeated conservative Brad Schimel. Walker discussed what went wrong for conservatives, what made the difference in Wisconsin compared to the special election in Florida, and what Republicans need to do to start winning these key races. Despite the setback, he pointed to a silver lining - the passage of a constitutional amendment in Wisconsin requiring voter ID. Listen to the full interview below! Learn more about your ad choices. I will have to apologize for my tone, today. The opening story deals with the nonsense pulled by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) in putting her niche issue of proxy voting for new mom's/dad's before all of the other items more pressing to the America First agenda. I then move to the election wins in Florida and the one loss in Wisconsin for their Supreme Court justice. CNN provides yet another blatant example of how they are going to continue to lie about the DOGE team wanting to cut entitlements, even after Scott Walker fact-check's them live over and over again. Fox New's Jessica Tarlov tries to catch Elon Musk in controversy to which he says he is under so much transparency and scrutiny that it would be impossible if that was his intention, which it is not. It's great to see documentation coming out about the FBI knowing they had the Hunter Biden laptop when they called it Russian disinformation. It's great to see notes from then CIA Director James Brennan proving the White House and major players all knew about Hillary Clinton's plan to create the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. I wish more people believed us over Legacy/mainstream media. HHS is cutting around 20,000 jobs and the Left is collectively losing their minds. Dr. Calley Means braves a hostile room at a Politico discussion to defend the culling of so much bloat and bad policy. Finally, I end with a bit of a rant over how times have changed when I was a 10 years old to where we are today. I use that as an introduction to a story about a man in Georgia who left his 10 year old in charge of a 6 year old and a 1 year old at McDonald's while he left for a job interview. He was arrested by police and I have a problem with that. Please take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Get ready, Wisconsin! We've already engaged in our first battle, and Earl is set to address Civic Media listeners with updates and insights on the latest information, including a brief discussion on the election results. Earl will go into the impact of Scott Walker's policies, which drained resources from Wisconsin by implementing programs that limited travel via the railroad, enabling other states to benefit. He'll also touch on Act 10, healthcare cuts, and various other programs that have affected us, all stemming from Walker's leadership. Earl highlights that we have now liberated ourselves from previous limitations, ushering in a fresh era of transformation! He invites callers to share their perspectives on the significance of this election. The discussion includes the expansion of train travel linking Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The Earl Ingram Show is a part of the Civic Media radio network and airs Monday through Friday from 8-10 am across the state. Subscribe to the podcast to be sure not to miss out on a single episode! Hello Friends! We're finally giving the inimitable Scott Walker a spotlight on the show today, with a look at his debut solo LP from 1967, Scott. Issued unchanged in the US under the title Aloner, to say I was surprised by how different these mixes are would be an understatement. From my experience with label mate Dusty's catalogue on Philips, I assumed Scott's would similarly be close sonically between mixes, but as soon as I queued up the mono alongside the stereo mix, the vast difference in vocal echo was immediately apparent. True for many tracks across the album, the mono results in a much darker listening experience, retaining the ‘spook' the stereo often lacks, but this is also inversely true at times. Balancing also differs on numerous occasions, highlighting different parts on the backing track to allow impact to vary in subtle ways that make all the difference. I hope you'll agree that regardless of mix, this is a wonderful record, but one mix to me really brings the production home. Happy Listening, Frederick Patreon Email Instagram - @hypnoticfred

More than a decade after Governor Scott Walker passed Act 10—historic legislation that reined in the power of public sector unions and saved taxpayers over $30 billion—the law is under threat once again. In this episode, radio host and Fox News contributor Guy Benson sits down with Governor Walker to revisit the battle that captured national attention, the reforms that transformed Wisconsin, and how a quiet April 1st Supreme Court election could roll it all back. With new lawsuits filed and a court majority now leaning left, the consequences of repealing Act 10 would be far-reaching: higher taxes, less classroom funding, and a return to bloated union contracts. Together, they explore what's really at stake and why voters across the country should be paying attention. This conversation isn't just about Wisconsin—it's about preserving constitutional balance and preventing courts from overriding the will of the people.

Ben Wikler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, joins to discuss the critical Wisconsin Supreme Court race. Then, Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, examines the direction and leadership of the Democratic Party. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on the shuttering of USAID, Russia-Ukraine ceasefire negotiations, Israel's revamped assault on Gaza, the DOJ's refusal to answer for its illegal deportations, Trump's killing of FTC operations, the gutting of the SSA, the abduction of Mahmoud Khalil, Trump's attempt to re-segregate, the Fed not to cut rates, the release of the JFK Files, GOP Sen. Eichorn's confirmation of pedocon theory, and HHS's gutting of HIV prevention, also highlighting Schumer's ongoing shame tour and the ongoing backlash the GOP's facing at their town halls. Ben Wikler then joins, diving right into the story of Wisconsin politics during the 2010s – and what it can foretell about this moment for our country – with a GOP trifecta coming into 2011 and using a supposed budget crisis to legitimize a complete crippling of the opposition as well as the progressive and worker movements, unleashing extensively gerrymandered maps, engaging in blatantly discriminatory voter suppression, and explicitly targeting language around progressive issues (e.g. banning the term “climate change”). After diving deep into the particular role the Conservative majority on the State Supreme Court played in bolstering the unparalleled executive power of Governor Scott Walker, and how a revamped focus on the Court helped begin the Democrats' slow crawl back into control, Wikler zeroes in on the ongoing State Supreme Court race between Brad Schimel – dedicated MAGA-Musker – and Susan Crawford, exploring the insane multi-million dollar investment into Schimel by Elon Musk, including blatantly illegal propaganda misrepresenting both his own organization and the candidates, wrapping up by emphasizing the importance of tying the entire conservative movement to the MAGA/Musk agenda they support, and exploring what those of us on the outside can do to help. Ezra Levin then joins, first running through the inception of Indivisible in the wake of the 2016 elections to combat the heinous agenda of Donald Trump and address the vacuum in Democratic leadership, before diving deep into the culmination of this effort, with last week's failure by Democratic Leadership in the Senate to stand up against the Trump/Musk budget seeing an unprecedented level of backlash, with their caucus, House Leadership, and the mainstream media all leveling blunt questions of Chuck Schumer. Levin, Sam, and Emma parse through a few of Schumer's recent TV appearances, as they dissect his utter strategic failures in using leverage in their fight with the GOP or in working with fellow Democrats, before wrapping up by tackling the future of this fight as Democrats look to find other pathways for messaging, and what those of us at home can do to help Indivisible's fight. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Chuck Schumer get slammed by Chris Hayes in the wake of his humiliating capitulation to Trump and the GOP, listen to Elon Musk's plea to empathize with the automotive class, and unpack Tim Pool's attempt to revamp his relevancy on the coattails of Sam's Jubilee video.
