Spend Your Energy Wildly is the topic for Part 6, the final episode in our six-part book series. Gladys' teaching is that living well is a matter of learning how to steer your energy toward life. I recap the previous five lessons and illustrate how to receive the lessons and love from each moment. I share client stories and moments from my own life tied to the choice of expanding your energy wildly vs. wisely. I end the episode with Gladys' six-part practice on how to embrace and appreciate the gift of life. Gladys shares the decision to stop fighting at school in order to make connections. She had to redirect the energy and unconscious patterns created in her family with intention and purpose. We all have sovereignty over our energy. I share a moment from my life when my husband and I were inspired by families in our church to adopt children of our own. I discovered the capacity of both my light and darkness while raising five children, but I had the agency to expand and move toward light energy. I also illustrate Gladys' practice on how to embrace life with a series of questions for inquiry so life can grow and expand with you. Can you feel life's boundless energy moving throughout your body? This message is a reminder to embrace the wildness of life around you. Listen in to learn Glady's teachings as a stepping stone on the journey to a life well-lived. Richard Schwartz began his career as a systemic family therapist and an academic and has developed Internal Family Systems (IFS) in response to clients' descriptions of various parts within themselves. He focused on the relationships among these parts and noticed that there were systemic patterns to the way they were organized across clients. Dr. Schwartz found that when the clients' parts felt safe and were allowed to relax, they would spontaneously experience the qualities of confidence, openness, and compassion that he came to call the Self. He also found that when in that state of Self, clients would know how to heal their parts. Richard is a featured speaker for national professional organizations and has published many books and over fifty articles about IFS. What Teacher Maternity Leave Actually Looks Like & How to Navigate it For all of you mamas, soon to be mamas, or anyone who hopes to start a family of their own one day, here's a little bit about my FIRST fully planned teacher maternity leave. You're not going to believe this, but I only took my first teacher maternity leave with my fourth child (that's right, child number FOUR). I'd never taken maternity leave for a teacher before child number four because...well...I was a slave to my job. Friend, I don't want this to be you. So today, I want to share what I've learned after 3 failed maternity leaves and what I'm doing this time to make it better. By the time you're reading this, my very own baby number 5 should be here! And, regardless if you're a teacher, a CEO Teacher, or somewhere in between, there's something here for everyone. Your Teacher maternity leave checklist revealed I want to be very real -- teacher maternity leave is very different than most jobs. I've had students ask me before, “do teachers get maternity leave?” Well, yes, but it requires a lot more work and preparation. It's not as easy as, ok guys - see y'all in 6-8 weeks! I hope it works out! Instead, you've got an entire room of students, other teachers, parents, and administrators wondering, “how long is this teacher maternity leave going to last and did she write a teacher maternity leave letter?” among many other things. Also, even after I left the classroom, I launched my first course 2 months before my most recent baby was born and, although I said I was on maternity leave, I wasn't. I was working around the clock on my laptop to help students. I didn't set myself up for success. So this time, I have vowed to make sure my hiney sits in that rocking chair for a million miles so I can enjoy every. Single. Second. Listen here to learn what you can do to prepare to get the most out of your teacher maternity leave! In this episode, you will learn: What steps you need to take to enjoy the most out of your maternity leave How to prioritize what needs to get done before you take your first day of your maternity leave as a teacher What your teacher maternity calendar might look like Why you don't want to wait until the last minute to find out  your local requirements for Teacher Maternity Leave and/or Paternity Leave The importance of a well crafted teacher maternity leave letter to parents and students Links Mentioned in this Episode about teacher maternity leave: The CEO Teacher's Marketing with Email Guide: kaysemorris.com/email Maternity leave in the United States Georgia Southwestern State University U.S. Department of Labor Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Parental Leave Frequently Asked Questions CEO Teacher® Resources Worth Their Weight in Gold:  What's your CEO Teacher® Type? Working with a Spiritual Teacher or a healer or even a therapist it's very special kind of relationship. And yet so many people especially in the spiritual movement or industry where there is a lot of ego and people want to be the all powerful healer clairvoyant telepath etc. spend a great deal of time analyzing and critiquing their chosen Teacher. Analyzing someone else in order to figure out your boundaries and tolerances it's definitely a good thing to do with friendships and love relationships and family. With a Teacher what I always look at is what am I learning. And does that Teacher have a practice... do they walk their talk. Beyond that I follow the 12th step advice "take the best and leave the rest." People on ego trips very often like to study with someone in order to bring them down or compare themselves in order to make themselves feel better. And then they will engage in a passive aggressive relationship with their Teacher and a secret game of compare and compete never asking questions never finding out backstories that are typically none of their business anyway. And then the hostility will fall out at some point. when you are walking this path you cannot be a student you cannot learn because all you're interested in doing is finding the flaws in someone you admire so you can feel better about yourself. Your Teacher is not your friend or your lover and therefore you are not at risk with getting submerged in a personality relationship. Your Teacher's personality and choices are none of your business. You don't do this with your car mechanic or your dentist do you? No because there's no ego gratification in that. If you have a cranky mechanic who does a great job you might keep that mechanic. Or you might decide it's too annoying and move on but you will not psychoanalyze them and tell your mechanic you don't like their tone of voice or how they're handling the wrench. Why do you do this with your Spiritual Teacher... Or with any authority figure that you admire? That is the question you need to be asking yourself if you want to become a student. Not everybody can learn. some people are too busy posturing presenting and competing to be a learner.

Do you ever look around and say “well, life would be better if THIS thing wasn’t here?” We often have aversions to the very situation, person, issue that has come for our deepest healing and growth. If we trust that the Universe is FOR us, and is all-loving, then we can also trust that everything has come into our lives to reveal more love, more truth, and more expansion. It’s time to honor, cherish, and listen to exactly the things that present themselves as challenges — because Everything is Your Teacher.

Julie Seamer is a long accredited Naturopath and Herbalist specialising in mental health and the effects of grief and loss on our physiology.  Julie has herself endured much hardship, after overcoming partial paralysis and being told she'd never walk again, she lost her partner to suicide while pregnant seven years ago.  A passionate advocate for the destigmatisation of mental illness, Julie continues to strive in making a difference through the natural health arena and is now using her 20 years of experience to help others deal with grief and loss, as well as a range of issues that have a physiological impact on our health. During our interview, Julie delves into much around the concept of grief and just what an impact it can have on our health, but more importantly how to recognise it for what it is and overcome it. We cover: -How although as human beings we all experience times of grief, yet in our busy world we tend to push these feelings away - and the effects this can have on our health. -Various ways of grieving and processing grief. -The physiological impacts of grief. -The impact of our emotions on our bodies. -Where to begin with dealing with grief and where Julie begins when treating her clients. -Why nearly all health issues stem from the digestive tract. - Your Body is Your Teacher - how we can begin listening to our bodies?  For full show notes and resources head to: mywellnesspie.com/your-body-is-your-teacher
