Kent Dicks, CEO of Life365, has extensive experience in the remote patient monitoring industry and is focused on developing wireless and cost-effective RPM technologies to connect patients to their healthcare providers and improve patient engagement and care. The mission is to support the shift from reactive to proactive care by using RPM data fed into AI and machine learning systems to identify trends and the need for early intervention. Working with partners and large enterprise clients, Life365 is connecting patients in rural areas with RPM technology. In an arrangement with the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the company is part of a remote patient monitoring initiative to identify biomarkers and early warning signs so patients can stay compliant with their therapy plan. Kent explains, "I've been in the industry for about 18 years now and dealing with remote patient monitoring. We've been fortunate to have built the vision when there wasn't reimbursement and when remote patient monitoring had been started by previous companies that were using wired technology. Our strategy was to use wireless and cost-effective technology to try to get into see patients or to connect with patients who were especially in hard-to-reach places like rural locations, trying to connect them to their doctors." "So Life365 is about making sure that we can help support the new models of care that are emerging, that are out there, value-based care, the ability to connect people in rural locations. The ability to get data cost-effectively from patients used to mean feeding the data directly into their HER. It's now really important to be able to feed the data into artificial intelligence and machine learning systems that are going to be used a lot to be able to monitor patients and see trends occurring. This is way before a patient decides that they need to go to the emergency room and be admitted to the hospital."  #Life365 #CareAccess #CareatHome #ConnectedCare #CommunityCare #Datasharing #Healthcare #HealthEquity #HospitalatHome #PopulationHealth #RemotePatientMonitoring #RPM #ValueBasedCare #VBC #VirtualCare #VeteransCare Life365.Health Download the transcript here

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Recognizes Matterport's Expertise In Digital Twins and Connected Devices Matterport Achieves AWS IoT Competency Partner Status for Excellence in Data Acquisition, Management, Analysis, and Device Management SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 11, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Matterport, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTTR) announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT Competency status. This designation underscores Matterport's pivotal role and expertise in innovative Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, empowering customers to leverage AWS for IoT and achieve their cloud transformation goals. Achieving the AWS IoT Competency differentiates Matterport as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member, providing software designed to help enterprises adopt, develop, and deploy complex IoT-enabled digital twin projects on AWS. To receive this designation, APN members must possess deep AWS expertise and deliver solutions seamlessly on the AWS cloud platform that address the four core pillars of successful IoT deployments: 1. Data acquisition: Matterport's industry-leading technology captures comprehensive spatial data from physical environments using its high-fidelity scanning process. 2. Data management: AWS provides a robust and secure platform for storing and managing the captured spatial data, along with sensor data from connected devices integrated within the digital twin model. 3. Data analysis and visualization: The combined Matterport and AWS IoT TwinMaker integration offers powerful tools for analyzing and visualizing both spatial and sensor data, providing actionable insights into real-world operations and building performance. 4. Device management: This integrated solution offers comprehensive device management capabilities for connected sensors and devices within the digital twin environment. These tools empower users to securely create, manage, extend, and visualize their IoT applications. We are proud to achieve AWS IoT Competency status, particularly within the Technology for Platform Providers category,” said Brittany Schramm, Sr. Director, Global Alliances & Business Development at Matterport. “Our deep understanding of spatial data, combined with the unmatched scalability and security of AWS, empowers businesses to unlock the full potential of IoT solutions. By leveraging Matterport digital twins with AWS IoT TwinMaker, companies can gain a holistic view of their operations, optimize performance, and make data-driven decisions for a more intelligent future.” Matterport's digital twin platform allows users to create immersive 3D models of physical spaces and connect them with real-time sensor data from IoT devices. The Matterport integration with AWS IoT TwinMaker enables powerful use cases such as remote monitoring of facilities, predictive maintenance of equipment, and space optimization based on real-time occupancy data. Grant Johnson, Operations Transformation Project Manager at INVISTA, explained how its integrated solution works, “It pulls data from disparate sources—from IoT sensors to work orders in SAP—into a database, which is paired to Matterport visualizations. When we migrate this into the AWS IoT TwinMaker, it makes sense of all the data, and finally, a custom-built frontend allows employees on the shop floor to use the solution seamlessly.” AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise. About Matterport Matterport, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTTR) is leading the digital transformation of the built world. Identity theft can be expensive. It costs you not only time to fix, but money and resources too. When it comes to keeping your information secure, even the newest technology still has weaknesses, and it's up to you to stay aware of what those weaknesses are.   Links: Learn more about KnowBe4 Security Awareness  Protect your identity with Triangle's Better Checking account with IDProtect Check out TCU University for more financial education tips and resources! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Learn more about Triangle Credit Union Transcript: Welcome to Money Tip Tuesday from the Making Money Personal podcast.   This tip comes from an article provided by KnowBe4 Security Awareness and training.  We're going to explore the future of connected devices, how these devices may impact cybersecurity, and what you can do to stay safe.  New innovations in technology are being developed at a rapid rate. But new technology comes with new risks. Let's go over some examples of how technology will change in the future and ways you can stay safe.   5G Cellular Networks  You may think a cellular network is only used for cell phones, but it can also be used for GPS devices, wifi hotspots, logistics tracking, and more. 5G stands for the fifth generation of cellular networking. In short, 5G is a dramatically faster and more stable way to connect to the internet.  While this is great for connectivity, it could be a major struggle for cybersecurity. Current security monitoring methods may not be strong enough for the speed and amount of traffic created on a 5G network.    The Internet of Things  The Internet of Things, or IoT, is a network of connected devices designed to work together using an internet connection. A common example of this is the use of “smart” devices in the home. Smart devices connect and communicate with one another using your wifi network. IoT is being used and developed across a number of industries, from healthcare to logistics.  Each device within an IoT network is a potential risk. As more devices are connected to one another, an organization's attack surface grows. Meaning, there are more targets for cybercriminals to attack and more points of entry to protect. As these networks grow, it is essential that cybersecurity measures grow with them.    Safety Tips for Now and Later  Stay Informed No matter what the future holds, it is always harder to fool an educated person. Follow trusted news and media outlets for the latest updates in technology and cybersecurity.   Be Suspicious As technology changes, cybercriminals will find new ways to attack. If something doesn't look or feel right, report it. It is better to be safe than sorry!   Time Travel to the Past Maybe technology isn't quite there yet, but you can use classic communication to outsmart cybercriminals. For example, if you receive a suspicious email, reach out to the sender by phone to verify that it's legitimate.    If there are any other tips or topics you would like us to cover, let us know at tcupodcast@trianglecu.org. Like and follow our Making Money Personal FB and IG page and look for our sponsor, Triangle Credit Union on social media to share your thoughts.   Thanks for listening to today's Money Tip Tuesday and be sure to check out our other tips and episodes on the Making Money Personal podcast.   Have a great day!

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will scan the networks of federal agencies to help them identify any web-connected “networked management interfaces” that have become a key vulnerability in recent cyber exploits. CISA laid out its plans under a binding operational directive issued today. It comes in the wake of a warning late last month from Microsoft — later amplified by CISA and other federal agencies — that an alleged Chinese state-sponsored hacking group, known as “Volt Typhoon,” has been using network administration tools to infiltrate critical infrastructure networks. CISA's directive, called BOD 23-02 “Mitigating the Risk from Internet-Exposed Management Interfaces,” describes how “recent threat campaigns underscore the grave risk to the federal enterprise posed by improperly configured network devices.” Learn more about your ad choices. For compelling patient safety reasons, healthcare IT executives often focus their connected-devices security program on the medical devices at the bedside. However, as more and more non-bedside, even non-clinical, devices are connected to the network, it's incumbent on IT professionals to know what, and where, they are. That's because the correct functioning of those devices is critical to continuity of care and, thus, patient safety. For example, if a network-connected elevator is hacked, it's entirely plausible patients can't be transported to the surgical suites, etc. In this important webinar, we'll speak to leaders about how they're working to secure not only IV pumps by the bed, but the refrigerators, cameras and other devices that ensure patients can get to the care they need.
