The guest host for today's 'Leslie Marshall Show' episode is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET. Brad is joined by Rep. Ro Khanna, who represents California's 17th Congressional District, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, and is serving his fourth term. As a leading progressive in the House, Rep, Khanna is working to restore American manufacturing and technology leadership, improve the lives of working people, and advance U.S. leadership on climate, human rights, and diplomacy around the world. Brad and Rep. Khanna discuss his 'new economic deal,' and how Democrats need to talk about economic revitalization in de-industrialized towns, and how they're going to give Americans a raise. Rep. Khanna highlights the sad irony that Republicans who were just elected to power, are not going to do anything to address the main economic issues that Americans are clamoring for help with. Instead, they are talking about dismantling the social safety net, killing the CFPB, and cutting healthcare programs to fund tax cuts for the rich. However, Rep. Khanna highlights how when Americans mobilized during the last Trump administration to prevent cuts to popular domestic programs, they were successful. He believes that there is a viable path to stop these cuts again, as long as Americans make their voices heard in massive numbers in opposing these cuts. Rep. Khanna also argues that 'Medicare for all' needs to be the Democrats' North Star for healthcare, and that then the party can talk about the incremental measures that they can use to get there. A recent study by Yale epidemiologists found that Medicare for All would save around 68,000 lives a year while reducing U.S. health care spending by around 13%, or $450 billion a year. Rep. Khanna also details a bill that he co-sponsored with Senator Bernie Sanders that would eliminate medical debt. He uses the staggering fact that 42% of Cancer patients go bankrupt within two years of being diagnosed to highlight why this is so necessary. Lastly, Rep. Khanna discusses his brand new political reform and anti-corruption bill designed to clean up corruption in politics. The plan calls for: - 12-year term limits for Members of Congress; - A ban on Members of Congress from holding and trading individual stocks during the Member's tenure; - A ban on Members of Congress and candidates for the House and Senate from accepting contributions from political action committees and lobbyists, and a lifetime ban on lobbying for Members of Congress; - A binding code of ethics for Supreme Court Justices; and 18-year term limits and regular appointments for future Supreme Court Justices, requiring a new Justice to be added and another to rotate off every two years. Rep. Khanna serves on the House Armed Services Committee as ranking member of the Subcommittee on Cyber, Innovative Technologies and Information Systems (CITI), as co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, a member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, and on the Oversight and Accountability Committee, where he previously chaired the Environmental Subcommittee. Retired Navy Rear Adm. Timothy Gallaudet is one of multiple witnesses set to testify at a congressional hearing next week about government transparency concerns and reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) that could endanger U.S. national security. Two sources familiar with the plans, who requested anonymity to discuss the hearing before it's held, told DefenseScoop on Wednesday that it will be led by Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Nov. 13. Without sharing more information about who is testifying and why the hearing is being hosted now, a spokesperson from that committee separately confirmed in an email that it is scheduled for next Wednesday. Cyber Subcommittee Chairwoman Nancy Mace and National Security Subcommittee Chairman Glenn Grothman will co-chair the hearing. They said the lawmakers hope to provide more information to the public “in the coming days.” The upcoming hearing will follow several that lawmakers have convened in recent years, which came largely in response to mounting public pressure and alerts raised by former defense officials about seemingly unexplainable objects increasingly threatening America's military assets and personnel in the modern era. One of the officials DefenseScoop spoke to suggested that some of the topics that will be raised in this next meeting will likely include transparency issues associated with the Pentagon's and Intelligence Community's handling of UAP reports and ongoing investigations; calls for more congressional oversight of the executive branch on UAP; and examples of how such phenomena have presented challenges to flight safety in real-world military operations. Secret Service Snipers notified 90 minutes before shots were fired. #SecretService #FBI #Assassination Security at former President Trump's Butler, Pa., rally first noticed the man who later shot at Trump more than 90 minutes before shots were fired, according to texts reported by The New York Times, adding to criticism of the Secret Service's handling of the event. A local countersniper first noticed gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks at 4:26 p.m., just more than an hour and a half before he climbed onto a nearby roof and shot at Trump, nicking his ear, killing a supporter in the crowd and injuring two others. The officer, who was clocking out of his shift, notified colleagues about a suspicious man sitting at a picnic table near their lookout point via text. Additional texts at about 5:40 p.m. show officers discussing that they should inform Secret Service after Crooks was spotted again, this time using a range finder. “Call it in to command and have a uniform check it out,” the text reads. The series of security failures that allowed Crooks to get into position to shoot Trump has shocked Congress, sparking a House investigation as well as an independent probe. Secret Service Director Kimberley Cheatle resigned from her post last week after being grilled by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee about the attempted assassination. Police on scene were unable to find Crooks again after being made aware of his presence near the building he later climbed. Just after Trump took the stage at 6:03 p.m., members of the crowd pointed out a suspicious man on a nearby rooftop. FBI Director Christopher Wray testified last week that a local Butler police officer was then boosted onto the roof to confront Crooks, but was met with a gun being pointed at him. With no free hands to grab his own gun and fire back, he dropped to avoid being shot. Just “seconds” later, Wray said, Crooks fired eight rounds towards Trump. He was quickly shot and killed by a Secret Service countersniper team.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (07/22/2024): 3:05pm- On Sunday, in a post to the social media platform X, President Joe Biden announced that he would withdraw immediately from the 2024 presidential race. He reasoned: “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” Later Biden posted once more from his X account, endorsing his Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor: “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats—it's time to come together and beat Trump.” 3:15pm- Will Kamala Harris ultimately become the Democratic Party's presidential nominee? President Joe Biden, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Governors Gretchen Whitmer and Gavin Newsom have all endorsed Harris. It could be difficult for another candidate to challenge her. Reid Epstein of The New York Times writes: “Only officials at the Democratic National Committee and the Biden campaign have the full roster of delegates. If someone decided to run against Ms. Harris, the first challenge would be to gain access to the people who will make that decision. Without access to the delegate list, alternative candidates to Ms. Harris are effectively blocked from both canvassing the delegates for their opinions and trying to persuade them to support someone other than Ms. Harris. There is no evidence to date that any serious political campaign other than Mr. Biden's and the D.N.C. has made an effort to reach out to the convention's delegates.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/article/biden-drop-out-nomination-delegates-harris.html 3:40pm- In response to Joe Biden withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and endorsing Kamala Harris as his replacement, former Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard urged voters to cast their ballots for Donald Trump. 4:05pm- Dr. Ben Carson—Former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development & a Retired Neurosurgeon and Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University—joins The Rich Zeoli and reacts to Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and his endorsement of Kamala Harris as his replacement. During one notable exchange, Rep. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) grilled Cheatle—asking why the rally wasn't at least paused when Secret Service became aware of the eventual shooter? 4:50pm- Double or Nothing: Weeks ago, Rich bullied Matt into accepting a terrible bet. Rich wins $1,000 if Democrats replace Joe Biden as the party's presidential candidate. Matt wins 1 pepperoni pizza if Biden remains the candidate. Now that Biden has withdrawn, Rich proposes a new bet: double or nothing! If Kamala Harris is the Democrat Party's nominee, Matt wins 2 pepperoni pizzas—if she isn't, he owes Rich $2,000. That's pretty fair, right? 5:05pm- On Sunday, in a post to the social media platform X, President Joe Biden announced that he would withdraw immediately from the 2024 presidential race. He reasoned: “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday… Part of the ‘elaborate' strategy to remove Biden from the race—as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday—was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta. During the car crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point he froze up, with his shocking performance turning the tide against him.” She continues: “Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2024/07/22/us-news/top-dems-threatened-to-remove-biden-unless-he-resigned/ 5:30pm- Kamala Harris is “unburdened by what has been!” PLUS while appearing on CNN, Van Jones cried when hearing the news that Joe Biden had decided to withdraw from the 2024 presidential campaign. Biden told the team: “I know yesterday's news was surprising.” He also vowed to campaign alongside Harris. 6:05pm- On Monday, Kamala Harris spoke to the media for the first time since Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race and endorsed her as the nominee. Harris said of Donald Trump: “I will proudly put my record against his.” Harris also baselessly alleged that “Donald Trump wants to take our country backwards”—stripping American citizens of inherent rights. 6:15pm- A damning CNN News report from 2020 featuring Renata Espinoza—wife of fallen police officer Isaac Espinoza—documents Kamala Harris' failures as San Francisco District Attorney. Former San Francisco Police Officer's Association President Gary Delagnes says Harris viewed the officer's death as a “political opportunity.” At the time, even then-Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) rebuked Harris' decision. 6:25pm- Earlier today, President Joe Biden called into the Kamala Harris campaign team (which had been his campaign team prior to his withdraw on Sunday). Biden told the team: “I know yesterday's news was surprising.” He also vowed to campaign alongside Harris. 6:40pm- Last week, Sarah Parshall Perry—Senior Legal Fellow for the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation—joined The Rich Zeoli Show from the Republican convention in Milwaukee Wisconsin to discuss Judge Aileen Cannon's recent ruling that the appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel was unconstitutional. Consequently, the classified documents case brought against former President Donald Trump was dismissed.
Today, Jim and Greg discuss Kim Cheatle's resignation as director of U.S. Secret Service, the swift ascendance of Kamala Harris as the Democrats' nominee, and Biden & Harris can't be bothered to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his visit to the U.S.First, they toast a good martini to Cheatle's resignation after a disastrous performance before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. Jim sees some clear parallels between her resignation and President Biden stepping down from his campaign.Next, they observe how Vice President Harris successfully cleared the field to be the next presidential nominee, securing the endorsement of top Democrats and a majority of DNC delegates. Greg points out the irony in how quickly the party of "defending democracy" was to shut down any chance of a robust primary. Finally, they talk about Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to the United State and how neither Biden nor Harris seem to have any time for him. Jim points out the impropriety of this and says it only adds to questions about who is running the country right now. Please visit our great sponsors:Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order. A recent shooting at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, where a female agent protected Trump, has intensified criticism of the U.S. Secret Service's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. During a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing, Director Kimberly Cheatle defended the agency, affirming all applicants meet identical standards. Republican lawmakers, particularly from Tennessee and Wisconsin, attributed the security lapse to DEI policies, while Texas Rep. Michael Cloud questioned agent qualifications. Conservative pushback on DEI has been increasing, especially since the Supreme Court ended affirmative action in college admissions. Cheatle argued the incident was due to planning or communication gaps, not DEI, and reaffirmed support for the 30x30 Initiative, aimed at increasing female representation in law enforcement. Critics of DEI attacks, like Catrina Bonus and Maureen McGough, defended the dedication and sacrifices of women in federal law enforcement.Learn more on this news visit us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. Dr. Carson's new book— “The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family”—which he co-authored with his wife Candy Carson, is available here: https://a.co/d/5RggqEs 4:15pm- Matt starts the week off in the doghouse—violating two of Rich's most important rules: no boy band music and no national polls! 4:30pm- Rich notes that people forget, but Kamala Harris was such a bad presidential candidate in 2020 that she was forced to withdraw from the race before the California primary because she was polling at 8% in her home state—behind Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren. 4:40pm- On Monday, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle testified before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee about the law enforcement agency's failures at Donald Trump's July 13th campaign rally in Butler, PA where the former president was nearly assassinated.

Formerly in close professional proximity to Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, who expertly managed Joe Biden's personal finances from 2009 to 2017, recently voiced to congressional investigators that several key banking conduits implicated in Hunter Biden's significant international business dealings were undisclosed to him. Schwerin, a one-time business associate of Hunter Biden, distinctly shared his lack of insight into the network of transactions that involved vast sums channeled towards Hunter Biden, his business associates, and family from international deals. His unprecedented testimony, as recorded in the transcript of his January 30 meeting with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and the House Judiciary Committee, has disrupted earlier conceptions. Legislative investigators have, in the past, pinpointed Schwerin as the engineer of 'Biden family's shell companies', entities that were recipients of multimillion-dollar funds originated from foreign business dealings.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

While appearing on CNN with Jake Tapper, Rep. When Gary Shapley, a longtime I.R.S. investigator wanted to come forward with information that the federal government had mishandled the tax investigation into Hunter Biden, the President's son, the details he had to share were so sensitive he couldn't even provide them to his own lawyer without potentially committing a felony. So, through his attorney, he approached Empower Oversight, a group with deep experience in Capitol Hill investigations who coached him on a strategy for how to get the information to Congress lawfully. Months later, Gary Shapley and a fellow I.R.S. investigator, Joseph Ziegler, were testifying in an open session before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, detailing their claims that the president's son had received special treatment. Newt's guests are Tristan Leavitt and Jason Foster, leaders of Empower Oversight.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
