This week on the Arts to Heart Podcast, our host Charuka Arora has an insightful conversation with Richa Maheshwari, who is a designer on a mission to bring back the arts and crafts that are fading due to the advent of fast fashion. Richa has been in the software services industry by profession, where she worked as a product manager for a German company for almost 16 years. As COVID hit, much like everyone else, Richa took a break to spend more time at home. This was her chance to restart and explore, and she took it. After going to an office for so many years, Richa longed to be on the ground where she could do something much more substantial and tangible, and that is when she was able to connect to an international labor organization which marked the beginning of her life with traditional crafts. As a child, Richa was always interested in stories that were rich in culture, and now she has the opportunity to tell those stories to the rest of the world in an innovative way. With its textile legacy, Odisha has many stories to tell, and so Richa decided to direct her energy towards uplifting the local artisan community in a way that helped the artists as well as introducing their craft to the world. For Richa, it is very much about the “ability to build narratives in a fun way so that the audience is able to receive it simply”. As she built her brand, Boito, Richa has had many things to learn and unlearn. From forming trustworthy relationships with the local community to finding a balance where their culture and traditions can be shared with the rest of the world, Richa has come a long way. She has opened doors for other artists who dream of utilizing their craft in a way that doesn't succumb to the fast fashion industry. So, tune in to this week's podcast to listen to Richa and Charuka talk about the world of fashion and why it's important for us as a society to not lose touch with our roots. Art, Fashion & Creations • Mayra Mateus @mateusart_ Podcast at 8pm Eastern Time Spotify|Apple Music|Amazon Music MATEUS ART. Mayra Mateus, also known as Mateus Art, is a Miami-based pop artist and storyteller who was born in Cali, Colombia, in 1995. She discovered her passion for art while working as a cashier at a local pizzeria in 2016. Her creativity sparked when she designed the restaurant's menus, and since then, she has never looked back. Mateus enrolled at Miami Dade College in the same year to formally study art, but she soon realized that the realism-style art taught in school did not fulfill her. After some personal hardships, she dropped out and continued her self-discovery journey. In 2017, Mateus found her artistic home in the vibrant Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, where she resonated with the street and spray-paint style of pop art. Her love for colors, shapes, and stories led her to pursue pop art and professionalize her work. She formed a corporation, brand, and trademark and created a portfolio of various mediums, with a piggy bank character as the center of her brand. Mateus's message is clear: "Saving Dreams." Through her art, she aims to inspire people to pursue their dreams, reminding them that the pursuit of happiness is more important than material wealth. Her passion for pop art continues to grow, and she is making a name for herself in the Miami art scene. In recent years, she's collaborated with brands, including Meta, Puma, Foot Locker, Formula 1, Hugo Boss, Crypto Mining technologies (Bitsive) and became the first latina to collaborate with the French artist, Richard Orlinski.

Regardless of how you define it, art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful, expressing important ideas or feelings. It's interpretive, surrounding our homes, offices, streets, and cities, and thus, a significant part of our lives. While covering The One Of A Kind Spring Show Toronto Ladies Night as accredited media, I met Mixed Media Toronto-based Artist, Morgan Jones. His unique tea party complete with his ballerina model and work immediately caught my eye. I just had to interview him! We talked about his former career as Director of Sales for a large consumer electronics company, how he became a self-taught full-time artist, and why. How he's inspired by the casual observation of people and life around him, and how his work is constantly evolving. The multi-step process he uses to create his art, his keen eye for texture and composition, coupled with a whimsical flare, Morgan creates works that are aesthetically engaging while also evoking a visceral response in the viewer.

In October 2021, the first Kyiv Art & Fashion Days was held in Ukraine. The multiple day festival celebrated the vibrant culture, art, fashion and music of the area. A group of US representatives, which included Clothing Coulture podcast guest Keanan Duffty, was invited to the event, all were blown away by the experience. Just a few months later, the unthinkable happened, Russia invaded the country and Ukraine began fighting for its independence. Keanan Duffty jumped into action creating a NYFW event with six participating Ukrainian designers and brands. Stars Design Group CEO, Bret Schnitker, and Chief Strategy Officer Emily Lane, spoke with each of the designers at the Kyiv Art & Fashion Days New York event. When Frieze Week in Beverly Hills was unveiled next to the Beverly Hilton, collectors and dealers turned out in high style for the VIP opening, confirming what many already knew: art, fashion and entertainment converge in Beverly Hills.“Beverly Hills is where the art world meets,” says Jeffrey Deitch, art dealer and curator, referencing the collectors and cognoscenti who mingle in the city's galleries and restaurants. On this episode of Rodeo Drive: The Podcast, host Pari Ehsan and field correspondent Jason E.C. Wright explore how art and fashion intersect in the city of Beverly Hills and on Rodeo Drive itself, from public artworks on the street like Robert Graham's sculpture Torso to creative collaborations between couture houses and artists.Ehsan sits down with Deitch to discuss what makes the city a magnet for art enthusiasts, and what makes for successful art and fashion collaborations. “We've seen some artist-fashion collaborations that are dead on arrival. But then we've seen others that are just fantastic and inspiring. So some people saw me and my team at the opening of Frieze…all wearing a Kenny Scharf–Dior Men's collaboration..that's a very good example of an excellent collaboration.”Wright takes in the scene on Rodeo Drive with Kathy Gohari, President of Rodeo Drive Committee. “I see tourists coming early in the morning before the stores are even open and they're hugging the Torso and taking pictures.…They're not just coming to look at the buildings and the beautiful restaurants and the clothes, but it's the whole environment.”Season Three of Rodeo Drive – The Podcast is presented by the Rodeo Drive Committee with the support of the City of Beverly Hills, The Hayman Family, Two Rodeo Drive, Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau, and MCM.Listen to Rodeo Drive – The Podcast below and subscribe, rate and review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.Watch moments from the series here and on YouTube.Check back in regularly for what's next in the series.Season Three Credits:Executive Producer: Lyn WinterHost: Pari EhsanField Correspondent: Jason E.C. Meet Hidden NY, arguably the most hype-worthy mood board on Instagram. In many ways, Hidden is an enigma. He stays anonymous; that's part of the allure. What we do know about him is that he's a British ex-pat living in NYC in his mid-late twenties. And he says “mum” instead of “mom.” Yep, 100% British. That's about it.But Hidden is more than a cute mood board on Instagram. He's not simply a repost account. He's a cultural curator, and as a creator, he runs a legitimate media business that competes with the old guard of fashion outlets, and he should be treated as such. His content is a blend of art, fashion, design, and cultural references, primarily in the streetwear genre. In a few years, he's scaled his audience to over 700,000+ Instagram followers, is Substack's #1 Art+Fashion newsletter with thousands of paid subscribers, each of whom he's charging at least $15 per month.

Patricia Field is a visionary in fashion with legendary status. The entrepreneur, stylist, costume designer, consultant, and Art Fashion gallerist has made an indelible mark on style. Between 1966 and 2016, the style-conscious flocked to her one-of-a-kind fashion and beauty retail store that was something of a New York City landmark. And then there's Sex And The City. Fashion was changed forever when Pat paired ballet tutus with tank tops, and curated covet-worthy shoes and handbags for the show's stars like delicious candy. As years went by, fans couldn't get enough of the style she served up, devouring her decadent costumes just as much, if not more---than the smash hit series' weekly plotlines. Pat has taught the world to embrace the mix and match and embrace vintage. She's taught people to find their fashion in an array of out-of-the-box places, and she's taught us how to accessorize, all by making on-screen magic with her eclectic, high-low, savvy style. Ugly Betty; The Devil Wears Prada; Emily In Paris and more---we just can't get enough of her courageous costumes that both honor creative expression and create trends. On this podcast, Tamara sits down with her fellow native New Yorker to talk the cyclical nature of fashion, and New York and fashion across the decades, including the club scene---for which Patricia Field has had a front row seat. She shares the incredible story of her start, and how she bloomed because of blouses. We of course talk all the details behind her legendary boutique, and the ins and outs of her eclectic life and style that celebrates diversity. We discuss what it's like to have the shared experience of being both a retailer and a costumer. We get granular discussing her biggest projects: Sex And The City, Emily In Paris… and she dishes about Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty. We get into cultural appropriation, her latest projects and a lot more. Tamara first interviewed Pat when she was a fashion editor at Cosmo, reporting in the early days on Sex And The City style. Our Story + Rain Talks podcast series would never be complete without picking up where we left off with Patricia Field those many years ago. Enjoy this in depth conversation with the lady whose legacy has changed and continues to change fashion in such a significant way.
In this episode, director Quentin Jones opens up about her approach to art, fashion, directing the SW Muse Campaign, life lessons and more. Some like to call it art or fashion, but we who know and have learned from the Word and Spirit of God, know better (or at least we should). This week, I just want to try to enlighten you on a few things; I want to put you on game about a few accessories and symbols that you might want to do away with, if you call yourself a Christian. Like any other set that reps or goes hard for, you must show allegiance of some sort. So, what does it mean when we Christians go so hard for the opposing side than we do our own? Related Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 3:15: What exists has already been, and what will be has already been, for God will call to account what has passed. Philippians 3:21: He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control. Revelation 20:14: Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death— the lake of fire. 2 Corinthians 5:20:Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
