This week's service presented by Erol Delos Santos on the topic of Pagpapalaya: Learning From Asian Liberation Theologies. As Rev. Lane noted, “Our guest minister this Sunday is a personal friend and former seminary mate. I am both excited for you to meet him and disappointed that I can't be there with you all this Sunday. I hope that you will come as you are able and lift him up.”
Time is our most precious resource, yet we often treat it carelessly. When we reach the end of our journey, the start and end dates on our tombstone won't matter as much as the dash in between - that's where our life truly happens. How are you spending that dash? Are you investing your time wisely, or merely letting it slip away? Remember, we all have the same 24 hours in a day, but it's how we use them that makes all the difference. In this powerful episode, Rev. Jocelyn Jones delves into the critical topic of time management and intentional living. Join her as she shares personal anecdotes and practical wisdom on spending time wisely and making every moment count. She explores the concept of investing time rather than just spending it, and offers insights on how to prioritize what truly matters. With the year still young, it's not too late to change how you've been using your time. As Rev. Jones implies, "Time well spent is the key to a life well-lived." Tune in and learn how to make the most of your dash!Podcast Highlights01:20: A personal story illustrating how our perception of time shapes our actions.03:19: The concept of investing 86,400 seconds daily for maximum impact05:22: Biblical wisdom on stewarding time as a precious, non-renewable resource06:33: The importance of living intentionally and prioritizing meaningful relationships before it's too late.09:25: Using the rock and sand analogy to prioritize time well spent15:15: Get your copy of Breaking the Power of the Mask and start your journey to healing today!17:04: How to Live with urgency and avoid regrets through intentional time management20:59: The power of daily reflection in spending time wisely23:35: Choosing short-term discipline for long-term gains in time investment25:19: Are you designing a purposeful life rather than drifting through time?Subscribe/Rate Never miss an episode by hitting the subscribe button RIGHT NOW! Join Rev. Hannah and Rev. Brittany for this episode of Perspectives Pastors Podcast, as they wrap up the multi-episode of Everyday Saints. This time, they turn the examination inward, pulling inspiration from Paul’s words in Romans 12:9-12. As Rev. Hannah notes, on the surface level, this scripture feels very generic. But once you dig in and apply it to our Western ideals, there is a lot we can start to glean from the text – especially as you consider how we tend to apply God’s grace and love. The discussion is all about turning away from our natural instinct to be in competition with each other and instead focusing on caring for each other. When approaching the scripture from a communal context, you’re able to focus on the greater good of the community – including the so-called “black sheep.” We invite you to continue this exploration by connecting with others through our weekly Convergence discussion groups, which meet online and in person, as you consider these questions: What does genuine love feel like to you? How do you honor those around you? What work of God are you enthusiastic about participating in?

Rev. Ando Mueller quotes a piece of writing by Rev. Master Jiyu from the book 'Zen is Eternal Life' where Rev. Master Jiyu uses the traditional Buddhist image of a lotus flower to talk about spiritual practice. The lotus is a traditional symbolic image in Buddhism because of its specific qualities of growing in and being nourished by pond mud and then rising above the water in order to bloom. As Rev. Ando points out, we do not disparage the mud, which is all the conditions of our daily life, but make use of it with gratitude for helping us to deepen our practice and nourish our own blossom of Awakening. This talk was given at Shasta Abbey on Sunday June 16, 2024.Twitter/X: @shastaabbeyYouTube: https://youtu.be/XhiBc6z0fmc

Reverend Erik L. Arneson's podcast Arnemancy covers all things occult and esoteric. This includes a nine-part series on Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa and his influential 1531 text Three Books of Occult Philosophy. Almost 500 years later, it's still an influential text for many witches, wizards, and occultists. As Rev. Erik says, “If we want to understand Occult Philosophy, we first need to take a look at the world in which Agrippa lived. This episode will begin by looking at the Holy Roman Empire, where Agrippa was born and spent most of his life, and then examine a few key historical topics that are relevant to Agrippa and Occult Philosophy, including the Renaissance, the Reformation, [and] Science and Philosophy. Finally, this episode will give a general overview of Three Books of Occult Philosophy and outline a general plan for this series….” Listen to Rev. Drawing inspiration from the biblical narrative of David and the Philistines, Rev. David Ham underscores the need for seeking God's guidance daily and being battle-ready through a consistent connection with the Word. As Rev. Ham dives into the story of David's encounters with the Philistines, he unveils a profound revelation – a divine strategy that requires listening for the sound of marching from the tops of balsam trees, challenging conventional wisdom and emphasizing the importance of faith and dependence on God's supernatural guidance. He calls the students to keep their ears tuned to heaven, ensuring that the strategies they employ are in alignment with God's will for their lives.

A saint is a “holy one” by faith in the Lord Jesus. We honor, remember, and imitate those who died in Christ that we may live faithfully in all our vocations. At the same time we do not want the focus to be taken away from the full sufficiency of Christ's cross. As Rev. Bo Giertz says from the Hammer of God, "One ought not talk about oneself, it may hide Jesus from view." "For all the saints who from their labors rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confessed, Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia! Alleluia!" LSB #677 st. 1” Rev. Brad talks to Rev. Nathan Empsall, the Executive Director of Faithful America. They discuss the Reawaken America Tour, which just relaunched in Las Vegas a week ago. As Rev. Nathan says, the tour platforms speakers who are anti-Semitic, anti-democratic, and openly violent. It is a dangerous movement that is, unfortunately, tying together explicit Christian practice - like baptism on stage - with insidious American nationalism. The result? Maybe the most potent magnet for Christian nationalism alive today. Meditation in a sitting position is often the first kind many practitioners experience, yet, Buddhism is home to a variety of techniques and methods. As Rev. What is the key to raising up the next generation of supporters and friends of Israel? In a word, relationships, says Rev. Johnnie Moore, pastor, entrepreneur, and a tireless advocate for Israel and the Jewish people. Rev. Moore recently joined podcast host Bishop Paul Lanier, Board Chairman of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention, to share his insights on passing on a passion for Israel and the Jewish people to the next generation. As Rev. Moore says, Christian-Jewish relations are in a historic and grand time in history, but that should not be taken for granted. Listen now to this inspiring and insightful conversation.
In reading the Liturgy of the Passion, are you struck by Jesus' silence? As Rev. Vicki Cater points out, it speaks volumes.
As Rev. Jeff Davis says, the story of Lazarus teaches us that Jesus brings life in the face of death.
What is "mind" in Buddhism? As Rev. Shaun Song so beautifully describes in this dharma talk, "mind" is not merely a description of brain activity. Rather, it is the essential commingling of mind, spirit and true nature -- the impetus for all our actions and experiences. To cultivate its power and depth, wise teachers and sages guide us to focus the mind through sincere practice. https://www.wonbuddhismnc.org/donations Transcrip: https://wonbuddhismnc.sharepoint.com/...
Acts 3:6 Rev. Wes M. Bynum shared with us that the Lord is all about, "Touching Lives" as we should be. We enjoyed the wonderful job Laurie Edwards and Denise Jones did playing, "This is my Father's World" during our Offertory. The Anthem, "Changed" was masterfully performed by, the EBCC Choir under the direction of our Minister of Music, Mike Cross. Patsy Milam joined us from the Word of Life Church to report on the success of The Angel Tree donations. Sheryl Olsen heads our Missions, of which the Angel Tree is a part. As Rev. Bynum reminded us we all are "Touching Lives".
As Rev. Sandy West can attest, not every Christmas season is merry and bright for every person.
In this episode we talk about forgiveness with Rev. Dr. Matthew Ichihashi Potts, who is Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard Divinity School, an ordained episcopal priest serving as the minister at the Memorial Church at Harvard, a co-host of the podcast, Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, and the author of the book we discuss on this episode, Forgiveness: An Alternative Account (published by Yale University Press). As Rev. Dr. Potts explains, accounts of forgiveness in broader Christian thinking tend to place the onus of forgiveness on victims, virtually requiring that their feelings of anger or grief change and lead to reconciliation with the one who harmed them. In contrast to this, Rev. Dr. Potts gives an account of forgiveness that is a separate matter from reconciliation, and something that can accommodate an honest recognition of wrongdoing and the feelings of anger and grief that it has caused. Fundamentally, forgiveness for Rev. Dr. Potts is about non-retaliation against one's enemy. As we explore this together, over the course of our conversation, we address how this idea relates to the justice system, social media, literature (including Harry Potter), the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard, and the teachings of Jesus. Team members on the episode from The Two Cities include: Dr. Amber Bowen, Dr. John Anthony Dunne, Rev. Daniel Parham, and Rev. Dr. Chris Porter.
As Rev. Dave says at the service's close, "may we learn from their example." This service is one where, due to copyright restrictions, the audio-only podcast is at a disadvantage, since Alex Pietsch's exquisite accompaniment relies entirely on material that is not allowable in a downloadable podcast. (It's one of the rare times when we'll ask that you go to our YouTube channel, where such things can be legally monetized, if you want to hear any the music. Save for one commercial jingle that we elected to leave in.) However, a listen of this abbreviated service episode will provide the sage advice given by poets, our worship associate and reverend. As Rev. Julie Lewis continues her sermon series following the life of Joseph we look at the story of Joseph's reunification with his brothers - the very same who wished him dead and caused him irreparable harm. We see that when we allow God to work in us God can help us to grow and stand firm in doing the right thing and to have unbreakable love in even the toughest of situations. There is little that can disappoint us more than other people. People who are unjust and lack compassion. People who lie and take advantage of any weakness in another. People who just don't get it. Don't you just wanna smack ‘em?! As Rev. Tom Are preaches in this sermon, it's no mystery that loving your enemies is hard work. Our scripture reading is Matthew 5:43-48. Support the show
Philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” But what happens when the remembered past is painful? The pains of yesterday have a way of claiming power today. Or as William Faulkner once said, “The past isn't dead. It's not even past.” Memory is a powerful thing; it is also a risky thing. As Rev. Tom Are preaches in this sermon, sometimes we need to learn from the God who promises, “I will not remember your sins.” Our scripture readings are Isaiah 43:22-25 and selected portions of Genesis 44. As Rev. Jane Taylor points out, exercising the fruits of the Spirit leads to life, bears fruit and spreads the Gospel.
Have you ever asked God to send you a sign? Do you have concern if you are living in the will of Spirit? Does is sometimes seem that God isn't hearing your prayers, or you don't know what to pray? Is your intuition just your own desire or actually a nudge from Spirit?Today's podcast is a conversation with Rev. Dr. David Chotka, interfaith minister, international speaker and founder of Spirit Equip. This conversation is non-denomination. As Rev. Dr. Chotka suggests, God speaks non-verbally through the increase and diminishing of His presence - and we can learn to discern the voice of God and the highest and best path for our lives by the way we experience peace and joy in our physical bodies, minds and "gut feelings.""God is light, and in him there is no darkness."Living "in the light" is the way to peace and happiness, and when we are not experiencing these feelings or knowings, called interior consolation vs. desolation. Distraction, bad feelings, lower vibrational emotions like boredom, despair and aloneness as taught by the Ignation Spirituality. When we're in the middle of consolation, you experience peace, joy and light.Take a listen, practice the journaling exercise and see if you can find peace and consolation and joy/peace in your life. When you're being guided by God, you are promised the peace that passeth understanding. Be well! For more information about Rev. Chotka, visit his website. In today's episode, Rev. Mark Vander Hart, Associate Professor of Old Testament Studies, introduces us to a three-part theme of being Christlike in Conflict. As Rev. Vander Hart has said before, Scripture is not silent about the conflicts that have attended the life of the church throughout her history. It can be a real benefit to us when we consider the tremendous impact that our Savior made through his Holy Spirit, even upon the life of the church in the older covenant era, that is, in the Old Testament. With that in mind, Rev. Vander Hart takes us through a series of OT accounts of conflict and how the Spirit of Christ is with his people in such passages. He begins today with a couple of rebellions against Moses.

Last week, through a series of enjoyable, but non-routine events, I missed the Sunday Gathering which always grounds me with beautiful music, a mind-clearing meditation, uplifting affirmative prayers, and a message from our amazing Spiritual Director that moves my heart and feeds my soul. On Tuesday, I missed the calming meditation provided by our wonderful practitioners. Also, I could not make it to our supportive community meetups in the park. Finally, the high temperatures have been too uncomfortable for me to take my gratitude walks in nature. It appears that, just like missing my physical exercise, or healthy eating regime, without my daily spiritual practices, I feel sluggish and unmotivated – life, with a small L, seemed to be conspiring with my ego to drown out that still, small voice which knows my highest and best self. As Rev. Cassandra Rae describes her talk for this Sunday, I hunch it is exactly what I need to Align with Yes: ‘Your attention and intention have great power. The ego loves using this power for its own benefit. However, when you're in alignment with Spirit, the ego's attempts to win, obtain, or get what it wants has no power over you. As Rev. Graham's ministry continued to grow, he saw a pressing need for his crusades, and invited a young pastor, Greg Laurie, to write relevant sermon illustrations that Billy could use to reach a younger generation. Spending significant time together, Laurie saw that Graham was the same man in private as he was in public: down-to-earth, humble, and approachable. Whether talking to world leaders, celebrities, or common folks, Billy Graham never compromised the gospel.

Our guest is the Rev. Al Sharpton, whose activism has made him a fixture in the press for decades in his hometown of New York City. Lately, though, we often see him as the eulogist at funeral after funeral of those taken too soon through violence. He does it with enormous grace and power, including after the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020. And there’s a reason for that. As Rev. Sharpton explains to Kevin Burke in this rare interview, there’s a traumatic incident that happened to him a long time ago, when he was 9 years old, that gives him the ability to speak to children who are in pain, because there is a pain deep inside of him that permanently shaped the arc of his formation as a preacher and future civil rights leader. It’s a story he doesn’t tell often, because it’s so surprising and unexpected, but in this episode, you’ll hear him share it in the most personal way. In listening, you’ll also gain an understanding that may forever alter the way you see this icon of our times. Your Hometown is a show where the local is the epic. SUNDAY ONLINE WORSHIP May 16, 2021 | 9 a.m. "What is Spiritual Mentoring?" by Rev. Anthony Techico "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." ~1 Corinthians 11:1 (ESV) These days, many people are pursuing mentoring to advance their professional and personal goals. They partner with an experienced individual who shares knowledge, experience, and advice with them. In the same way, we can - and should! - also pursue a mentoring relationship to help us in our spiritual growth and maturity. As Rev. Anthony Techico preaches on and answers the question, "What is Spiritual Mentoring?" on Sunday, may we learn to apply mentoring in our discipleship in order to develop a Spirit-empowered life! In Part 8 of our series, Rev. Jackson discusses how a misunderstanding of God's grace can cause us to live below His standard. As Rev. Jackson writes in "Are We Still Making Disciples", "Grace is your covering, not your cover up". Take a listen!
(Audio) David Eells - 4/14/21 The Beast Turns on the Harlot in the Church and State Leon Lunsford - 3/25/21 (David’s notes in Red) Thursday morning early on March 25,2021 I had a dream. In this dream I was an observer not a participant. There was a black man leaning against a chain link fence. (I knew because the man was black he represented in a physical type those who walk in darkness and are submitted to evil.) He was well dressed with a sharp looking gray suit. He looked to be prosperous. (This man is representing the leadership of apostate Christianity including the faction. Grey suit represents walking in death. Pro. 16:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death. 1 Ti. 6:9-10 But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (The chain-link fence represents being in chains or bondage and a slave to the Beast system. Paul said in Rom. 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves as servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? He was in the age range of 35 to 45 years old. He looked to be about six feet tall. (I could tell this because a chain link fence is usually about four feet high.) (6 is the number of man and 666 is the number of the Beast) Rev. 13:16-18 And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead; 17 and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.) The fence he was leaning against was covered with Ivy or some other greenery. It covered the entire area of the fence from where I stood to some distance past the man. I was standing on the same side of the fence as the man. (This Ivy hides the nature of the fence which is bondage. Ivy is a strangling fruitless vine. It can bring down fences and tear up brick walls by rooting itself into the mortar of the bricks. Eze. 17:7-16 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it. 8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine. 9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? and not by a strong arm or much people can it be raised from the roots thereof. 10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the beds where it grew. 11 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and brought them to him to Babylon (He brought the apostate leadership of God’s people into bondage as it is now): 13 and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land (The leadership is in bondage to the government of Babylon through the CIA investments through Rev Moon and 501C3 laws); 14 that the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand. 15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. (They are trusting in the arm of flesh so they can rebel against Babylon.) Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? shall he break the covenant, and yet escape? 16 As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.) From my right side a beast walked past me on the other side of the fence. He was as tall on all fours as the fence and i watched his rear end as he went by. He was sort of like a lion but was green in color. He kind of blended in with the green on the fence as well as the grass. He hugged the fence as he went. (The beast hugged the fence because it is his and because he has a lust to bring the people into bondage through their leadership. The color green can represent many things here. It represents flesh and a Jezebel spirit as well as the “Green movement; the Green New Deal “ that is part of the Beast/Communist system. 1 Pe. 1:24 For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:) The man saw the beast and, as the beast reached him, the man turned and reached out his hand and laid it on the beasts back allowing the beast to pass underneath his hand and sort of petting him as he went by. The man then turned back around and went back to leaning against the fence. The beast went about ten feet past the man (10 represents the Law and judgment) and then turned back around coming back to the man. (God through the DS Beast is turning on the wicked Christian leadership and their slaves.) As the beast arrived at the man he paused a few seconds and looked like he was assessing what he was going to do. He then reared up and caught the man with his teeth at the back of his collar and dragged him over the fence. He took him a short distance away as the man was fighting to get loose. While there was no sound in this dream I knew the man was screaming as well. The beast then started biting the man on the head until he was subdued. He then started backing away from that location as he drug the man off, away from the fence, with him. (The man in the suit was eaten by the very beast that had prospered him. 1 Pe. 5:8-9 Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, 9 whom withstand stedfast in your faith…) That was the end of the dream. I asked the Lord for a verse by faith at random and got Ezekiel 14:12. My finger was on "The word". (In context 12-23) Ezekiel 14:12-23 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 13 Son of man, when a land sinneth against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand upon it, and break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off from it man and beast; 14 though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord Jehovah. 15 If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it be made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the beasts; 16 though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only should be delivered, but the land should be desolate. 17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and beast; (I believe the va-cc-ines would qualify as both a spiritual sword and pestilence) 18 though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only should be delivered themselves. 19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast; 20 though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither son nor daughter; they should but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. 21 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast! 22 Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be carried forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings; and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it. 23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings; and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord Jehovah. (Amber received Jer. 5:1-6 on Thurs. 3/25/21 and believed that it also went along with Leon’s dream. Jer. 5:1-6 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem (representing the apostate leadership of Christianity), and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that doeth justly, that seeketh truth; and I will pardon her. 2 And though they say, As Jehovah liveth; surely they swear falsely. 3 O Jehovah, do not thine eyes look upon truth? thou hast stricken them, but they were not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. 4 Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God: 5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they know the way of Jehovah, and the law of their God. But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds. 6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, and their back-slidings are increased.) God’s Elect Spared From the Wrath of the Beast Garrett Crawford - 3/10/21 (David’s notes in red) I had a dream about the Beast. I dreamed I was taken inside a factory; almost like an Amazon facility. (The Amazon facility represents the world. It is a jungle out there. The world had been totally consumed with the beast nature and people are running wild, like animals, doing whatever feels good with no restraint since the enemy has succeeded in taking God out of the schools, homes and the court system. 2 Ti. 3:1-4 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;) Inside this facility they were creating the Beast. There was a lab for experimentation and I saw all the body parts of different animals. They were fusing them together; fashioning them into hybrids. They had taken the different animals and used each ones strengths and abilities to create one super predator. This was more of a lab setting but, an old man, (the owner) of the facility, asked me if I wanted to see the finished product; The actual Beast itself. (The end-time beast will be a hybrid mix of the seed of all the world ruling beast kingdoms that came before it. As Rev 12 says it will have seven heads and ten horns and a world wide body. It will bring the entire world into submission through the mark of the Beast, without which no one can buy or sell.) He took me, with a few others, off-site to a remote location in the middle of nowhere. This was a highly secure area with high fencing and tight security. It was like an African reserve or the Jurassic Park complex. The old man put me inside the gate enclosure and I saw the Beast. It was a hybrid all of these different beasts. It was invincible. It had every strength and ability of the greatest animals on earth. It had armor like an armadillo, the speed of a cheetah, and the ferocity of a wolverine. It was the ultimate Apex predator. (The devil being cast down to earth will be enraged against the saints of God and will make war on the rest of the seed of the woman.) While inside this large enclosure I watched as it hunted and devoured all the people inside. It had amazing hunting skills and no prey could survive inside the enclosure with it. Eventually it killed all the people inside the enclosure. I was the only one left. The Beast hunted me and tried to kill me multiple times. I was able to escape but eventually it had me cornered and I was exhausted. Rev. 12: 13-17 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man child. 14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus: I picked up a brick and started to beat it in the head, but it only tore away the thin layer of skin on its head. This revealed that its head was made of solid iron or steel. (The end-time beast 10 toes or 10 kings is a mixture of Iron and clay. The Iron represents the revived Roman Empire and the clay is nations that are not the seed of the Roman Empire. Dan. 2:41-43 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters clay, and part of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron doth not mingle with clay. At this point I knew I had no options left, I did the last thing I could think of and that was to show it compassion and love. I held the beast in my arms even while it's ferocious jaws were trying to snap at me. I held it and loved it so long it eventually stopped trying to kill me and became like a little puppy in my arms. (God’s elect will receive grace from God to overcome the beast as they show the love and compassion of Christ to the world. This is what conquers the beast in our lives and in the world.) Not long after the old man came and opened the gate and let me out. He was very proud of his creation and asked me how I liked it? I was in shock from my experience but I was glad to be out of the cage with the Beast. I knew that it would only be a short time before he would release this Beast on the world. (The first fruits corporate body of God’s elect are the first ones to battle the beast nature of the old man and conquer it. But they will bring this knowledge and Spirit to those in the 7 years of tribulation who had previously refused to take up their cross and follow Jesus and die to their flesh.) The Lamb Is At The Door Claire Pienaar - 3/2/21 (David’s notes in red) I dreamed I was inside an African mud-hut, with a lady named Florah (meaning flower). (The mud hut represents our earthly tabernacle in which our spirit man dwells. God’s elect are like the flowers of the grass. When we are crushed underfoot or crucified for Christ’s Name's sake we smell all the sweeter.) It was very dark; possibly the middle of the night. (It’s always darkest before the dawn.) She was scared and she was about to sacrifice a baby girl in a pink swaddling blanket against her will. I think it was her daughter. (The apostate religious system causes the death of our spiritual man by allowing our flesh man to rule over us through false doctrines and greasy grace. They kill our fruit by putting us under their laws and regulations. "The letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life.") I saw a sangoma. (or witch doctor - Witchcraft is in the Church doctors of the law and the physical doctors. Witchcraft is from the Greek word Pharmakeia; meaning using drugs to heal or deliver.) He walked into the hut from a back door and grabbed the baby and threw it up in the air. As he did this, he thrust the spear that was in his left arm up into the blanket, with the intention to mortally wound the child. (The African shaman here represents the evil leadership of the church and state that have held the immature Christians captive up until now. (They have sacrificed the physical and spiritual life of the saints for their own profit and ego. John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.) The African woman, Florah, just looked on, aghast. I ran to the child, praying silently in the Spirit as I came closer to it. When I picked up the baby, it was cute and chubby and smiling, completely unharmed. (The prayers of the bride protect the baby Christians and their fruit from being harmed by the dark powers in the apostate leaders.). (As it was when Queen Esther interceded on behalf of the Jewish people and God spared their lives from the Beast in their day.) The sangoma was angry with me and said, “Well, if that doesn’t do it, nothing will. You will pay!”. (Vengeance is mine, I will recompense saith the Lord. The enemy has no power over God’s elect.) Isa. 40:9-11 O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God! 10 Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. 11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young. Then we heard a knock at the front door, and I walked through the mud hut and opened the front door, there was The bloodied Lamb standing there, waiting for us. I was so thrilled to see The Lamb, because I knew no dark magic or powers were a match for His redemptive work. Exo. 12:21-23 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover. 22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. 23 For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. Isa. 17:13-14 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but he shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm. 14 At eventide, behold, terror; and before the morning they are not. This is the portion of them that despoil us, and the lot of them that rob us. I woke up and asked the Lord for a word by faith at random, and received 1 Peter 1:24-25: For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth: But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you. I found it interesting that the woman in the dream had the name “Florah” and the verse had the word “flower” in it. Could it be that these “flowers” are immature Christians who are still in the star glory phase of their Christian walk, and that many will fall away unless we intercede for them? Could the Bloodied Lamb be Jesus in the Bride company? (Who is coming to save His people from Babylonish religion just as he first appeared?) The Beast Attempts to Devour the Woman and Her Seed Claire Pienaar - 12/12/20 (David’s notes in red) I received this dream on 12/12 which represents corporate and governmental perfection. I dreamed I received a text message from a man named Francois, which means “free-man”. (John 8:36 If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed). He was an Afrikaans speaker and I could hardly read his text. (It’s not my native tongue, but part of the culture of the place I was born.) I could make out the first sentence which said, "The man Janus fell and we must pray." (I looked up Janus in Wikipedia. Janus was a Roman God. He is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. Janus was the god of “gateways”. He was named in the Roman calendar, the first month being “January”. The Roman empire would erect phallic-type statues of Janus and when their armies walked under or past these, they’d believe it was a good omen and they’d be victorious in the war. This might be a warning that the world will have its gateway opened in January. (Or Janus and January could just represent the beginning or gate opening) “The sharks, in the dream below, are hungry!" What is perfection for the anti-Christ? It's WAR. This dream is saying, "Janus has fallen”. The Roman Empire (Like the DS), with its religious and monetary system and human trafficking is falling. They will attempt to resurrect Janus. Ultimately, it will come as the sharks, in the dream below, representing the coming One World Order will attempt to devour everything in the open water (the open market places). (Representing peoples, nations and tongues). My first reaction in my dream was “So what? We are not going to pray for a dead man, Janus. We pray for the saints.” But I think the Lord was showing me the “end” of one kingdom ushers in the next kingdom. And yes, we must always pray for the saints. The Beast Kingdoms cannot harm God’s elect. I then saw a vision of an ancient map and I was looking at the Atlantic Ocean between Europe, Africa and North America. It was a modern map of the continents, but on an ancient-looking map. (The map represents the beast kingdoms of the past, present and future. The Greek kingdom was in the past; the revived Roman Empire still is, and the world-wide empire is coming. (And I would say it is upon us.) I had asked the Lord when I had woke up from this dream for a word by faith at random and received Eze. 27:9. My finger was on the word “Javan" which means “Greek”. (The Greeks were the world rulers between the Old and New Testaments. Ezekiel 27:19 Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise. Javan was the fourth son of Japheth, Noah’s son, according to the "Generations of Noah", and is considered the root of the Greeks (Genesis 10:2). Also, the number 4 means creation or world. (Together Javan and Janus represent two beast kingdoms, one is past and the other is currently falling to give rise to the end-time Beast kingdom that seeks to devour the whole earth.) As I was looking at the Atlantic Ocean, there was a HUGE shark under the water, smiling or showing his teeth. He was very hungry. There were NO FISH in the ocean, however, I zoomed out and saw fish in the little lakes and inland-seas like the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, and dams and they were teeming with fish. These little fish were white, fat and happy with little smiles on their faces, doing a little dance on their back tail fins. (This represents a mass exodus of God’s elect out of the Babylonish, apostate church system which is part of the Beast. They are coming out as a result of the Great Awakening and will be gathered together in the wilderness refuges and underground home churches to escape the wrath of the dragon who is cast down upon the earth. They will be fat and happy being fed with the unleavened bread of the Man-child reformers. Rev. 12: 13-17 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man-child. 17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:) Little grey birds flew over the sea from Africa and Europe to North America and as they touched the sea’s surface they were either devoured by the Beast shark or they flew away just in time but found nowhere to land. (These little grey birds could represent the rest of the seed of the woman that the Dragon goes away to make war on after his failure to swallow up the Bride and the Man-child. They are grey because many of them will be killed or martyred. the Bible says, “he will wear out the saints of the Most High.” Dan. 7:23-27 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall ten kings arise: and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the former, and he shall put down three kings. 25 And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time. 26 But the judgment shall be set, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27 And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.) (The grey birds may also represent those who pretend to be in the “heavenlies” or in the “spiritual realm” but actually have unclean spirits and try to “fly over” the dangerous open water. The harlot is arrogant enough to do this – she straddles the beast but he ends up devouring her. Rev 17:3: And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. In the dream the beast/shark is so hungry for the blood of the saints that it will take the grey birds down, for their stupidity and arrogance: Rev 18:15-18: The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning; 16 saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she that was arrayed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearl! 17 for in one hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any whither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off, 18 and cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?) (The little fish in the small ponds, lakes, dams, and inland seas were numerous. The believers who are overcomers or sanctified ones will escape the sharks and be safe, as long as they keep swimming against the current; upstream and away from the strong current that wants to carry them into the open waters of the world. They are happy because the joy of the Lord is their strength and they live a sacrificial life which is pleasing to the Father. There were only white fish in the dams and lakes. I didn’t see any colored ones. (The Bride is clothed in a lampros garment, bright and pure which represents the righteous acts of the saints. Rev. 17:7-8, Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Mat 22:11-14 But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: 12 and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few chosen.) Then, as I was looking again at the map, I zoomed out even more, and I saw two more sharks; one below India in the Indian Ocean and one between China, Australia and the other side of the USA in the Pacific Ocean. This shark was the BIGGEST one. It took up most of the space of the available “blue space” or waters on this map, namely the Pacific Ocean. The map became more modern as I moved east. (This shows the progression from antiquity to the current modern period). In my dream, I prayed for the little fish in all of these little dams and lakes to remain safe. There were almost no fish in Australia, but Africa was teeming with little fish; even though the continent does not have a great amount of natural lakes. This is not physical, praise God! This is spiritual). (There is a great revival that is currently sweeping through Uganda and the surrounding countries in Africa. They call Australia, “The land down under” representing a people who are earthly or from beneath. God’s elect are born from above and are seated with Christ in heavenly places.) Then I woke up. (These sharks are member of the one body of the many headed beast that swim in the sea which revelation says represent the tribes, nations, and tongues.) I believe this dream is showing us a time after the Man-child and bride are chosen; a time with many white fish and a time of revival while the Beast destroys the Harlot. I asked the Lord for another word by faith at random and received: Jeremiah 42:18 ASV with my finger on “ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment”: “For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: As mine anger and my wrath hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt; and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.” (An execration means an angry denouncement or curse). (The beast will devour the Harlot who trusts in the arm of the flesh to save her. The saints will be purified and walking in the steps of Jesus.) Rev. Frances Fayden is an Interfaith Minister, an Energetic Success Coach, and co-founder of the Magnify Your Miracles membership. A master intuitive healer and spiritual counselor, Frances is fluent in the language of the human energy field known as the chakra system and can quickly translate energetic information to help her clients heal & transform. In 2012, Frances had a profound encounter with Mother Mary, which changed the direction of her life and awakened her life purpose. She has been channeling messages from Mother Mary ever since. She loves working with Highly Sensitive Souls who have a big vision and mission yet are seeking validation and personal guidance with their next steps. Frances says, "By incorporating Mother Mary's guidance along with feedback from your own energy field, and then applying the Universal Laws of Manifestation, miracles can occur." She is the author of the books Meditation is Friendship with God and How to Recognize God. Her passion is connecting people to the unconditional love of the Divine and then teaching them how to magnify that connection, which is the key to Magnifying Your Miracles. What Does it Mean to Be Sensitive? Sensitivity is a spectrum. We all have some level of sensitivity. Often highly sensitive people are very in tune with energy, be it a person's energy or the energy of a space, home, building, or even city. Those who are highly sensitive are often highly creative and have a high level of awareness, and tend to notice things that might go undetected. Self-care is crucial for those who are higher on the sensitivity spectrum, as is having plenty of time for healing and self-care practices. Finding Your Comfort Zone Rather than trying to push yourself out of your comfort zone, find out how you want to expand your comfort zone. Most spiritual entrepreneurs and highly sensitive people need a different way to bring forth their vision or run a business. The healing path of success is about being kind to yourself, building confidence through seeing what's working and what isn't, and most importantly, knowing your worth. Rather than shocking your system by trying to go too far out of your comfort zone, remember the mother nature metaphor of pregnancy, which is about a slow shifting of capacity and expansion, one day at a time. Celebrate All Little Successes We tend to want the big wins now, but this is not how sustainable change and growth happens. Start celebrating your little successes now and watch as your capacity to receive, grow and succeed increases. As Rev. Frances said, "you shouldn't have to hurt yourself to succeed." The Mantra That Will Change Your Life If you want greater freedom in your life, the key is forgiveness. Most importantly, forgiving yourself is crucial. One of the messages Rev. Frances channeled was from Archangel Zadkiel, who shared that one of the most powerful mantras you can say to yourself is, "I forgive". You don't even have to know who you are forgiving or why. There is no reason even to be specific as to what you are forgiving. Using it as a general statement and intention will tell your subconscious that you are ready to forgive on all levels. SUNDAY ONLINE WORSHIP November 22, 2020 | 9 a.m. "Jesus: Hope of the Nations" by Rev. Eugene Hao "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." ~Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) In these dark and troublesome days, as nations and people all over the world are beset by calamity and disease, and suffering seem to endlessly come in all manner and from all directions, we see once again see that the earthly things we usually depend on to "save" us - technology, medicine, leaders, and even wealth - have largely proved to be NOT dependable at all. But praise be to God, because those who are in Christ are never without hope! As Rev. Eugene Hao reminds us this Sunday, even though the world might be turning upside down, we can put our absolute faith and confidence in "Jesus: Hope of the Nations" - the only One who has promised and has the power to be our strength, guide, refuge, and most importantly - our Saviour! ***Our church has a Missions Fund for our church-supported missionaries, missions agencies, and parachurch organizations. During our series 'A New Season Of Love', we have seen how loving God can change our lives, and how God wants us to receive His love so that we can love ourselves. We have understood how we can truly love our families, and what loving our neighbour really looks like in practice. This week we conclude our series by seeing what it means to love our enemies. In the summer of 1946 in St Louis, Missouri, the wife of a 50 year old Lutheran minister received a letter sent by some of the most notorious criminals in the history of the world. When World War II ended, she had expected her husband home by Christmas 1945 but it was Summer 1946 and she received a letter asking if she would let him stay longer in Germany. Her husband, Reverend Gerecke, had volunteered to be chaplain to the Nazi war criminals on trial at Nuremberg for crimes against humanity. On choosing to take the assignment, Rev. Gerecke said “Slowly the men at Nuremberg became to me just lost souls whom I was being asked to help.” Because the Nazis were charged with crimes against humanity, they were everyone's enemy. Rev. Gerecke's love for them, despite two of his own sons being wounded in the war, is an example for us of how to love our enemies. To love our enemies, we must:1. Decide To Show Mercy (James 2:13)2. See Their Humanity (Matthew 5:41; John 4:35)3. Value Their Eternity (Matthew 16:26; Romans 5:9-10)ApplyHow easy do you find it to love your enemies? Do you have a heart of mercy towards them? James 2:13 says 'Mercy triumphs over judgement.' When mercy and judgement fight, mercy wins. Mercy triumphs because it is what God desires. When we are hurt by others, our first response is to react with an emotion-based 'eye for an eye' attitude. To love your enemy, you must make an intentional decision to show mercy. Mercy goes beyond justice and makes the decision to show the love of God to your enemies. Can you see your enemies' humanity? Do you value their souls, wanting them to encounter the life-changing love of Jesus Christ so they can have eternal life? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls His followers to rise above the attitudes of their enemies by showing them unconditional love and going 'above and beyond' when serving them (Matthew 5:41). This verse is often used as an example of unconditional love and refers to the Roman soldier's right to enlist a member of the subject population to forced labour. However, the soldier himself is often overlooked, yet he had been compelled into service and his life was under the control of Caesar. The soldier's humanity is invisible because he's wearing a uniform. It can be difficult for us see the humanity of those we put a uniform on (e.g. those who wore the Nazi uniform). We can put uniforms on those who differ from us by their nationality, politics, race, status, etc. To love your enemies you have to see their humanity. As Rev. Gerecke ministered to the Nazi war criminals in prison, he led many to the Lord. As news of his work became known, he began to receive hate mail and was accused of treason and giving aid to the enemy. Jesus said, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul” (Matthew 16:26). Loving your enemies means valuing their souls more than the approval of your friends. To love your enemy is to value their eternal soul above the hurt they have cost you. Do you truly love your enemies? Today, pray and decide to show mercy to your enemies (Matthew 5:7). Choose to see their humanity, showing them empathy, and valuing their eternity and their souls (Romans 5:8-10).

In this last installment of his series on calling and election, Rev. Jackson discusses godly love and being doers of The Word. As we come to know Christ, we must do so through study and action. We can't just be a people that hears a good word and sits on it. As Rev. Jackson says, we must be growing Christians before we can become going Christians. Let this word bless you!
Season 2 Episode 2: The Beauty of the Local Church with Rev. Dr. Matthew Everhard Introduction to Episode: During episode 2 of season 2, we discuss the beauty of the local church and its purpose. We tackle statements that are thought provoking. We answer questions that most people have, like what does catholic really mean? Is organized religion wrong? What does reformed worship look like? All of these questions are answered in this episode. Co-Host: Rev. Dr. Matthew Everhard is the Senior Pastor at Faith Church, EPC (Evangelical Presbyterian Church) in Brooksville, Florida. Matthew is married to his wife Kelly and has three children, Soriah, Elijah, and Simone. Matthew is not only a pastor/theologian but a writer and publisher. Matthew is the general editor for the Westminster Society Journal. Matthew's latest work his the publication of his dissertation on Jonathan Edwards, "A Theology of Joy: Jonathan Edwards and Eternal Happiness in the Holy Trinity" Podcast Episode Summary: The Church is necessary. Its role and purpose are needed in a world that does not seek the church. We dive into defining the Greek word ecclesia and how the church multiplies God's sovereign grace. In today's world, we have people that "worship" Beyonce and the band U2 and call it church. As Rev. Dr. Everhard explains, we are the "the called out ones" and we the church, should never cater to what the people desire in order to get them to come to church. In the Mid-South, your almanac is really only any good as a fire-starter. At least that's how I felt this week, as I watched snow fall in the middle of November. I can't imagine a world where my livelihood depended on the reliability of our weather. While less than 2% of our nation now lives and works on a farm, I know we have several builders in our church who still constantly feel the power of climate over commerce. It's something we have to consider now as we contemplate groundbreaking for our own building expansion. But by and large, we live a climate-controlled existence, and I'm pretty grateful for that. We'll just let Superintendent Aitken stay up and worry about the weather for us. This week I also finished the memoir of a fellow clergyman whose first pastorate was in rural Illinois. One of the treasured liturgies of his deeply agricultural congregation was the rogate, the blessing of fields and seeds on the fifth Sunday after Easter. As Rev. Richard Lischer puts it, “Rogate is the Latin word for ‘pray.' Because Jesus is risen and now intercedes for us in heaven, we can pray on earth, and for the earth…” Imagine that. For these folks, this is a life-or-death liturgy. If those prayers aren't answered, most of them will be forced to start work in the steel mills. The leap from their everyday livelihood to the imagery of scripture is a short step for these folks, and in a way, I envy that. Humming along in the background of James is a view of our spiritual lives as seeds being brought to fruition. We pick up the metaphor easily enough on a surface level, but our lack of real, high-stakes experience handicaps us in some ways. It's difficult for us to fully appreciate the hardships endured by farmers and the true significance of those rains, which fall (or don't) on the just and the unjust. Lord willing, we're going to try and do some work in unpacking all of that together as we round the corner into James 5 this weekend.
Make no mistake: Trump has always desired to be a strong man and now he desires to be seen as a strong man as president of the United States. His admiration for autocrats is by no means confined to Vladimir Putin. He has seemed to reserve much of his praise in public and private comments for autocratic leaders like President Erdogan of Turkey and Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, and much of his criticism for allies leading European democracies. He finds the checks and balances of the American system inconvenient, and he clearly wishes that even the modest checks he has had to contend with so far weren't there. But Trump is more than a liar. He has always tried to change what people believe about the truth — suggesting that there is not any truth, and people should just believe whatever Trump says. Listen to him, and hear him in any situation trying to change the truth to whatever he says it is. This goes all the way back to day one of his presidency, his inauguration day, when Trump said the sun was shining though it was continually raining. It has been raining on our democracy ever since.Donald Trump is NO Strongman by any values of the Christian faith. He is weak morally; He is weak intellectually; He is weak emotionally. So what do we do about Donald Trump? As Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King said, in another time of crisis, “We've got some difficult days ahead.”We can't control all the politics, but we can decide what we will do.It is time for Christians to lift up the truth over falsehood, as a way of life; to defend public service over political tyranny; and to always protect the increasingly vulnerable. It is time to reclaim Jesus.
In the first segment our hosts explored the law of change, which is probably a fact of the relative world. They also explored the law of chastity! In the second segment they explored “Dancing” and the “Dasein Dilemma.” The what? As Rev. Bil states in his book, Rev. Bil Unplugged and Unedited, “It refers to the experience of being that is peculiar to us, as self-reverent beings!” The Absolute Word was “Live Boldly” from January 28, 2018.
