In this episode of Servin' Up Cinema, we're talking raunchy comedies... Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Please welcome to the show, first-time guest, Mei Krusenklaus! We take a look at both films -- the fraternity, the sorority, and Mac and Kelly's family... and guess what? We may have learned a lesson or two in the process. Beyond those lessons, you can enjoy these films like the outrageous, irreverent, and truly hilarious comedies that they are! There's something here for everyone unless you aren't into airbag pranks or a shirtless duo of Zac Efron and Seth Rogen. WE LOVE FEEDBACK! Please, let us know what you think of the episode, and don't forget to like and subscribe to our many arrays of platforms if you'd like! Many thanks to all our supporters! Today we are joined by Chloë Grace Moretz and this episode is all about setting personal boundaries, stopping people pleasing, letting go of people who no longer serve YOU and saying “f**k it!” Now that's the spirit! Believe it or not but Chloë has been acting since the age of 5, and now at 25 years old has already got 50 acting credits on her CV (talk about booked and busy!) including the epic ‘Kick-Ass' movies, the chilling ‘Carrie', the comedy hit, ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising' and the epic LGBTQIA+ movie, ‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post'. Now she is starring in the blockbuster new Amazon Prime Video TV show, ‘The Peripheral'. Adapted for the screen from William Gibson's sci-fi novel, the show follows Chloë's character Flynne, as she unearths through gaming, a connection to an alternative reality with a dark future. The drama is brilliant but you might get a headache trying to figure out WTAF is going on - if you are anything like me! I have also always admired Chloë's advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and encouraging people to get out there and vote but I wasn't quite prepared for how much I was going to love talking to Chloë. Buckle up for a lot of laughter and some great life lessons in this episode! Today Chloë talks about growing up in the entertainment industry and the amount of reverse ageism and sexism she has faced in her career to date. Now, firmly in her own power and voice, Chloë also shares some amazing words on building boundaries and letting go of ‘people pleasing,' and relationships that no longer serve you. That is something I have ALWAYS struggled with so this turned into quite the therapy session for me, so I hope it helps you too! We also talk about the sheer power of Miley Cryus's song ‘The Climb' - it's one of the great underrated classics of our time, let's be honest - and Chloë shares how she is a certified gamer in real life too, who loves to, ‘f**k s**t up!' Watch out Super Mario! I love Chloë's new ‘f**k it,' ethos for life so I hope it also inspires you to let go, and do what is right for YOU in every given situation. If you have missed any of the episodes of Reign Season six go check them out now - we've been joined by Stranger Things star, Natalia Dyer, Young Royals stars Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg, Lena Dunham and many more inspirational people. Beanie Feldstein, a theater kid through and through, now finds herself a veritable film and TV star. While the approach to stage and screen might differ, her philosophy is always the same: her most inspired work stems from bonding with collaborators who can't help but become family. “Every opportunity is going to fill you up in certain ways and deplete you in certain ways,” she says. “I always just feel like I can go my deepest and do my best if I know the people around me.” Born in Los Angeles in a family of Hollywood professionals (including brother Jonah Hill), Elizabeth Greer a.k.a. Beanie grew up performing community theater and studying at the Stagedoor Manor theater camp before attending Wesleyan University. Her breakout roles in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” and the SAG-nominated “Lady Bird” led to an award-winning turn opposite Kaitlyn Dever in Olivia Wilde's “Booksmart,” as well as “How to Build a Girl” and guest appearances on “The Simpsons,” “Grey's Anatomy,” and “What We Do in the Shadows.” This year she portrayed Monica Lewinsky and produced FX's “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” and starred in A24's adaptation of “The Humans” from Stephen Karam. Up next, Beanie will feature in the years-long filming of Richard Linklater's “Merrily We Roll Along” and return to Broadway, after “Hello Dolly!”, to play Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” this spring. Beanie Feldstein currently stars in Greta Gerwig’s LADY BIRD opposite Saoirse Ronan. Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, the film takes an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home. Jerrod Carmichael (@NotoriousROD) is pushing the boundaries of comedy with his groundbreaking work in stand-up, television, and film. Now just 29 years old, what this driven North Carolina native has accomplished is mind-boggling, and 2017 is going to be his biggest year yet. Jerrod stars in the hit NBC series The Carmichael Show, which he also writes and executive produces. The third season of the show premieres in 2017. In March of 2017, Jerrod will star in his second stand-up comedy special on HBO, directed by Bo Burnham. He made his debut on HBO in 2014 with his critically acclaimed one-hour special, Love at the Store, directed by Spike Lee. Love at the Store is the funniest standup special I've seen in many years, and it's the reason I reached out to Jerrod. It left me in hysterics on a transatlantic flight and terrified everyone. I couldn't stop laughing out loud. It's that good. On the big screen this June, Jerrod joins the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight, opposite Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, and Anthony Hopkins. He'll also appear in James Franco's The Masterpiece, set to be released in 2017. In the summer of 2016, Jerrod reprised his role as 'Garf' in the Universal comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising opposite Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. He also starred as 'Freddy' opposite Rose Byrne, Susan Sarandon, and J.K. Simmons in Lorene Scafaria's The Meddler, which was released in April of 2016. Jerrod recently announced his upcoming authorial debut with an as-yet-untitled memoir. The novel will be published by Random House. Please enjoy my wide-ranging conversation with Jerrod Carmichael! Wealthfront is a massively disruptive (in a good way) set-it-and-forget-it investing service, led by technologists from places like Apple and world-famous investors. It has exploded in popularity in the last two years and now has more than $5 billion under management. In fact, some of my good investor friends in Silicon Valley have millions of their own money in Wealthfront. Why? Because you can get services previously limited to the ultra-wealthy and only pay pennies on the dollar for them, and it's all through smarter software instead of retail locations and bloated sales teams. Check out wealthfront.com/tim, take their risk assessment quiz, which only takes 2-5 minutes, and they'll show you -- for free -- exactly the portfolio they'd put you in. If you want to just take their advice and do it yourself, you can. Or, as I would, you can set it and forget it. Well worth a few minutes: wealthfront.com/tim.***If you enjoy the podcast, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts/iTunes? What the? The year is half over? Let's get caught up. "Batman v. Superman" wasn't that bad, "Civil War" wasn't that good, and two Gerard Butler flicks are clubhouse leaders for worst of the year. But let's focus on the positive. With honorable mentions going to "Finding Dory," "Love and Friendship," "Keanu," "Everybody Wants Some!!," "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" and "Viva," these are our picks for the top of the mid-year report card.

Neighbors 2 movie review!
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne return as married couple Mac and Kelly Radner, set to find a bigger home in a nicer neighborhood to live in after Kelly finds that she has another baby on the way. After putting down for their new abode, they find a buyer for their current one, but it's still in escrow, which, overly simplified for the purpose of this film, means that the buyer can swing by anytime within thirty days to inspect the house and can back out of the deal if things aren't up to snuff. The problem: a new, unaffiliated sorority, Kappa Nu, has moved in to take over the empty home previously used by the fraternity next door, built mostly on the notion that, unlike other sororities that aren't allowed to throw parties where they serve alcohol, they will do all of the drinking, raving and weed smoking they want, just like their male counterparts in fraternities do, without the overhead of being treated like "hos" by so-called rape-y frat boys.

Evan’s late discovery of a Hall & Oates hotline (719-26-Oates) inspires him and Dave to sing some of the duo’s biggest hits at the start of this week’s episode. Once they get that out of their system, Kris takes over for the latest installment of “Keepin’ up with the Jensons,” where he actually defends APOCALYPTO, describes why he didn’t hate X-MEN: APOCALYPSE as much as Bob, and reveals how A FIELD IN ENGLAND prepared him for HIGH-RISE’s use of overt metaphor. After they’re all caught up with Kris, Evan spoilerpieces NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING (at 18:34) by sharing how this well-paced comedy surprisingly tackles racism and sexism between its outrageous pranks and raunchy jokes. Then everyone reviews THE NICE GUYS (at 36:16) by talking about how similar it is to other Shane Black movies like THE LAST BOY SCOUT. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe have excellent chemistry and can both be quite funny in it, although it’s a lot of missed opportunities. As Kris says, "Plenty to like, just nothing really to love." Lastly, tune in at 50:18 to find out why past guest Sam Cohen is wrong, and at 56:52 for Kris’s very brief review of Jodie Foster’s MONEY MONSTER.
Tyler and David discuss what they've been watching, including The House Where Evil Dwells, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Ghost Warrior, Last Days in the Desert, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, I Am Road Comic, The Emigrants, Survivor, @Midnight and The Amazing Race.

Our topic this week: With all of the controversy this year, is it time to fix The Oscars? The Oscars have always been the premiere awards event, the best of the best, the most prestigious award in entertainment is The Academy Award. This year’s nominees have arrived not with excitement and elation, but with vitriol and controversy. For the 2nd year in a row, not a single actor of color was nominated for an acting award. But is that because of blatant racism, like many involved with the #OscarsSoWhite movement claim, or is it simply because those were the best performances of the year? We take a look at this divisive topic, in our own special way. Discussed on this episode of The Hollywood Outsider Movie and TV Podcast: (0:00 – 25:54) Movie and TV News: Do we need more origin stories from aging heroes, Laurel and Hardy get a biography, Star Wars gets a release date shift, and much more | Trailer discussion on Suicide Squad, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and 10 Cloverfield Lane (25:55 – 1:28:56) From The Outside In Topic: Is it time to fix the Oscars? | Listener topic comments (1:28:57 – 1:53:08) What’s This Movie? | Reviews of Ride Along 2, Naz and Maalik, The X-Files Premiere and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi | Upcoming Attractions The 5th Wave, The Boy and Dirty Grandpa | VOD and Blu-Ray Releases (1:53:09 – 2:03:15) Emails | Closing (2:03:16 – 2:11:51) Goodbye, Alan Rickman Email us your thoughts on the episode, answer our ‘What’s This Movie?’, or suggest a topic to feedback@thehollywoodoutsider.com or leave us a message at 818-814-6246.
