A prominent trend in today's music consumption is streaming, a phenomenon that gained even more importance during the pandemic, impacting the dance music industry significantly. While festivals still thrive with their EDM-centric, visually spectacular shows, club venues have suffered, leading to the closure of the Billboard Dance Club chart due to reduced DJ feedback from large venues. Even in major cities, where nightlife is concentrated, this shift has resulted in a decrease in the volume of new dance music releases. At Party Favorz, we've felt this reduction since last year. With less music comes fewer standout hits, and many of today's hits often sample popular tracks from 10 to 20 years ago, repurposing these melodies into new creations. However, the silver lining in fewer releases is that it allows gems like "Water" by Tyla, "Body Moving" by Eliza Rose and Calvin Harris, and Peggy Gou's hit "(It Goes Like) Nanana" to shine, reaching a broader audience. In a different era, these tracks might have been overshadowed by a flood of new music. Exploring other dance music genres, artists have reinvigorated styles like Drum 'n' Bass. While not our personal favorite, especially in a full DJ set, it has its place. Becky Hill's "Disconnect" is so Punk Rock that the D'n'B production by Chase & Status was a natural fit for the song. Issey Cross's "Bittersweet Goodbye" is another significant Drum 'n' Bass track, infusing the genre's energy with orchestral elements borrowed from the Verge alternative classic "Bittersweet Symphony," which got them in hot water for borrowing the string section from the Rolling Stones "The Last Time." Despite its potential, this genre can be challenging for DJs without advanced equipment to blend with contemporary dance music. Still, Drum 'n' Bass is seeing a small rebirth when we were hoping for a Breaks resurgence in mainstream dance which has shown a lot of promise lately. We'll have to wait and see what 2024 brings. Latin House has also seen a rise in popularity. Jain's "Makeba" classic emerged as a major hit this year with the Ian Aisher remix and reminiscent of the "Macarena" with its catchy refrain. We selected Axel Paerel's version for this set, focusing on the instrumental part that really gets people moving. This approach is similar to the initial instrumental version of "Macarena," which later had lyrics added for broader appeal. Other Latin-influenced hits include "Marianela" by Merk & Kremont x Hugel vs. Lirico En La Casa and "Let's Go" by will.i.am and J Balvin.

Party Favorz is finally ready to start rolling out The Ultimate Dance Classics featuring the and only queen of the dancefloor...MADONNA! With only two sets complete so far, each one has presented its own set of challenges to create. This first set features all of her 80s output plus a couple of spillovers from 1990. This first stage of Madonna's career is where she made not only her name but tip the scales for women to be outright megastars. Whether it was the nude photos of her that were taken prior to her massive success and published in Playboy — which she proudly exclaimed that she didn't care — the tumultuous marriage to actor Sean Penn and the constant swarming of paparazzi, which ultimately ended in divorce or the lucrative tour deal with Pepsi, which ultimately led them to pull out of the deal after the outrage that ensued over the video for "Like A Prayer" forfeiting millions of dollars — Madonna was adept at creating controversy or how to handle it when it wasn't her own doing. Volume 1 of The Ultimate Dance Classics is the soundtrack for those years and features a dazzling display of dancefloor scorchers along with smart pop songs that ruled the charts throughout the decade. The nice thing about mixing 80s music is that electronic music at the time was based on a simple snare drum that kept perfect timing. Disconet and later Hot Tracks and Ultimix, which serviced the DJ community with club-ready staples always featured this simple beat throughout the mix no matter what type of style of music it was backing. That in turn made it easy for DJs to mix in and out with no need to be concerned over what key a song was in. Aside from updating the original recordings to match more current edits by Select Mix (another DJ service) and DJ Freddy Greene (a.k.a. Digital Visions), my biggest concern was with the flow. I'd put together a mix and then go back over and over and rearrange the chairs on the Titanic to ensure everything transitioned with purpose. Thus songs from the same album weren't necessarily grouped together — but were grouped by the overall feel of the two connecting songs that would lead to the next and the next one after that. When you listen to it — it sounds cohesive and purposeful. This is my second stab at creating an 80s set for Madonna, and I'm positive I did it justice. In fact, I couldn't be more pleased with how all of this has come out (including the upcoming Volume 2) so far. These sets are far exceeding my wildest expectations. For those of you living under a rock — Madonna is about to release "Finally Enough Love," which is a celebratory compilation of all 50 of her dance songs that went to #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart. While these songs are edits (with some being very rare) — please support her work as fans have been clamoring for her to release this for a long time. You can also stream it along with all her hits on Spotify. I'll be back next week with Volume 2. Until then...ENJOY! The dance music scene didn't change too much from 2020 in that there was no groundbreaking sounds and Future House, Tech House and NuDisco continued to drill their throbbing beats into our collective conscience. 2021 was a year that a new crop of DJs broke through in a big way. Leading the pack is Chicago's John Summit whose deep house grooves have really broken through to the masses. Massive tracks like "Sun Came Up" (with Sofi Tukker), "Better Than This" (with Parachute Youth), "Human" (with Echoes) while still riding high on his 2020 hits "Deep End" and "Thin Line" (with Guz) and remixing several other notable artists has propelled his star into the stratosphere. Another DJ whose on a similar trajectory is Brazil's Vintage Culture (Lukas Rafael Ruiz Hespanhol) who's been around a little bit longer. With one #1 Billboard Dance Club hit "In The DarK" (with Fancy Inc.) in 2019, Vintage Culture has been the go-to for many remix productions for other artists. 2021 saw him remix the summer sleeper "Love Tonight" by Shouse, "Talamanca" by Burns, "Let It Go" by Louie Vega & The Martinez Brothers and Marc E. Bassy, "Paradise" by Meduza and Dermot Kennedy amongst many others. Perhaps the biggest breakout of 2022 was Joel Corry who's quickly filling in the spot that Calvin Harris dominated only a few years ago. After having a #6 in the UK with "Sorry" featuring uncredited vocals by Hayley May in 2019, he followed up with the #4 "Lonely" and the #1 "Head & Heart" with MNEK in 2020, which was also his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S. Corry has remixed countless other acts and 2022 saw him remixing top hits like "Bad Habits" by Ed Sheeran, "Tick Tock" by Clean Bandit (with Mabel and 24KGoldn), "Body" by Megan Thee Stallion, "Out Out" with Jax Jones, Charlie XCX and Saweetie, and the fantastic "Feeling Good" by the late Nina Simone, which was just featured on the 2021 Jingle Electric. He also had one of the biggest dance songs of 2021 "Bed" with David Guetta and Raye. Party Favorz fully expects to be hearing a lot more from both these guys in 2022. The third and final volume of Top Dance Songs of 2021 is in the can and should be dropping this coming Sunday so be sure to follow us to be the first in line when it happens. Anthony "Tony" Moran is a DJ, record producer, remixer, singer and songwriter known for remixing popular songs. In 2007, he hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart twice with "Walk Away" featuring Kristine W and "Keep Your Body Working" featuring Martha Wash. Moran also has a total of seven number one hits on the Billboard Dance Club Songs music charts in the United States and he has recently had four number one Billboard chart hits in the years 2016 and 2017.[1] As a remix producer, Moran has remixed work from top music artists including Janet Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Deborah Cox, Cher, Kristine W and many others. This first set focuses solely on his 90's work when he was the guy you called when you couldn't get David Morales, Junior Vasquez or Hex Hector on the phone. By the mid-millennium after Hex Hector dropped out of the scene and Morales and Vasquez weren't enjoying the success they previously held, Tony Moran's star began to shine even brighter. He slipped into this gap and much of his work with either Jody Den Broeder and Warren Rigg produced some of the most iconic remixes of a generation. That's not to say his 90's output was mince meat because his productions and remixes were impeccable and even though they closely resembled the work of all three DJs above to fit what he was working on — they were uniquely his own. His remix of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" is quite possibly one for the record books with its big ass tribal beats and high energy synths — the remix was every gay boy's wet dream. Moran was channeling Hex Hector better than the man himself with that remix. Tony Moran would go on to release his own albums featuring some of the biggest divas on the planet, which were major events (pun intended) in themselves. They would generate massive club hits that soaked the world's dancefloors in man sweat. He was a fixture on the circuit scene and his world tours drew massive crowds making him one of the first superstar DJs (next to Tiesto) to capitalize on his name. Tony has had a long and productive career that continues to generate massive #1 Billboard Dance Club hits for Jason Walker and Martha Wash to this day. It is with much love and admiration for a man who got his start doing exactly what I used to do by creating mixtape edits back in the day that Party Favorz honors the multi-talented Tony Moran into our exclusive Legacy series. ENJOY! Ultimately, there will be three to four sets in this series, which will be staggered out through the month of November (possibly into December) as a lot is planned for the last two months of the year. Releases will be unpredictable and can drop anytime so make sure you're following Party Favorz on Facebook, download the app or sign up for email updates. Richard Melville Hall, better known to most of us as Moby, is an electronic music pioneer. In the 1990s he scored numerous top ten hits on the Billboard Dance Club chart and his album Play (1999) has sold over 12 million copies. Even with all that success, Moby still found himself hitting rock bottom, contemplating suicide and wondering why he wasn't happy despite achieving everything he wanted. Joining us is the director and writer of the Moby Doc, Rob Gordon Bralver. Rob teamed up with Moby to make a documentary about the musician's life, activism and his struggles along the way in the quest for happiness. Rob tells us how he got the opportunity to make this film and what it was like closely collaborating with Moby. Moby Doc will be released online at the same time as Moby's new album Reprise on May 28th. “There's an element that's meant to be a cautionary tale for not just aspiring artists, but aspiring anything. Ralphi Rosario is an American house musician an founding member of the influential Chicago DJ group Hot Mix 5. The group was formed in 1981 while Ralphi was still in high school at the time the group became one of the major early forces of the burgeoning House Music scene in Chicago. By 1987, he collaborated with Xaviera Gold for "You Used To Hold Me," which has gone on to be one of the most influential early House Music tracks of all-time for what later was a revolution on the dancefloor. While Ralphi continued to put out early House Music releases throughout the nineties — his style rapidly changed when he teamed with Miami's DJ Abel (Aguilera) to form Rosabel a hybrid version of his last name and Abel's first name for a new more tribal house sound that he continued to perfect through today. Later the duo would introduce more Latin influences in their work while producing muscular House Music tracks for major artists that showcased their heritage and alternate musical influences. As a duo they have racked up five #1 Billboard Dance Club hits and Rosario has racked up fourteen Top Ten Dance Club Hits and two #1 hits. This does not include the hundreds of #1 hits for remixes of other artists including, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Chaka Khan, Cher, Crystal Waters, Cyndi Lauper, Donna Summer, Erika Jayne, Gloria Estefan, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Kristine W, Kylie, Mariah Carey, ONO, Rihanna, Jennifer Holliday, Pussycat Dolls, Selena Gomez, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and countless others. The list is exhausting but 90% or more are all included in the Party Favorz Diva Hall of Fame. With over 60 hours of tracks (which doesn't even come close to his breathtaking catalog) to choose from — I had numerous ways to approach these two sets honoring the master. I finally settled on hitting on the gayest tracks with the biggest divas and spread it out between the nineties and millennium with some rare tracks and some underground sounds that were predominantly only heard in queer clubs. Once I put out the volume 2 — all told there will be approximately 8+ hours of classics for your enjoyment. These sets are note intended to showcase his entire career but they are a good start. It took me awhile to wrap my head around this but I believe I've done a damn good job at representing some of his finest work whether solo or collaborative. A founding member of Chicago's trailblazing DJ collective, Hot Mix 5, Rosario helped lay the groundwork for the house music movement while he was still in high school. By 1987, his collaboration with Xaviera Gold on "You Used To Hold Me" had already secured its place as one of the seminal tracks in house music history—a catalyst for seismic shifts on dancefloors everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tava2f-qrfw Rosario's creative path took a transformative turn in the nineties when he teamed up with Miami's DJ Abel Aguilera to create Rosabel—a portmanteau of Rosario's surname and Abel's first name. This new venture marked Rosario's evolution from classic house to a more tribal, Latin-infused sound—a stylistic pivot he has honed to near-perfection over the years. As Rosabel, they layered their heritage and various musical influences into electrifying house tracks that became anthems for major artists. The duo's credentials are impressive, to say the least, racking up five #1 Billboard Dance Club hits. On his own, Rosario has amassed fourteen Top Ten Dance Club hits and two chart-toppers. And let's not even get into his epic list of remixes, which features the crème de la crème of the music industry—from Madonna and Beyoncé to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The overwhelming majority of these artists have already found their way into our Diva Hall of Fame, a testament to Rosario's influence. Selecting from a staggering 60-plus hours of tracks was a monumental task. I aimed for the most iconic, diva-centric tracks, embracing both the nineties and the new millennium, and including some underground gems that have been queer club mainstays. The final result? Three exhilarating sets amounting to more than 8 hours of sonic bliss, capturing just a fraction of Rosario's immense catalog. These compilations don't claim to encapsulate Rosario's entire career, but they're a sublime starting point. It's a celebration of a music maestro who has shaped the house music landscape for the past four decades. So, it's with immense pride and honor that we welcome the indomitable Ralphi Rosario into the Party Favorz Legacy series. Brace yourselves; you're in for an auditory feast. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Ralphi Rosario | Legacy Volume 1Genre: Circuit, Tribal, HouseYear: 2021Total Time: 04:17:26 1. Donna Summer - I Got Your Love (RR Vocal Mixshow) 2. Top 20 Billboard charting artist XIMXIA (pronounced shem-shee-ya), a versatile Los Angeles singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, debuted her first single, “Don’t Follow Me,” with an impressive #19 Billboard Dance Club ranking, making its way to radio shortly thereafter. She can attribute the early success to the handfuls of musical heredity and experience in her sonic swirl—a strikingly original sound rooted in the influence of some of rock and pop’s greatest singular visionaries. Individuality and poignant self-expression are constants in XIMXIA’s musical universe. The equation works like this—XIMXIA sings her truth and you dance. Fans who can’t help but stamp a label on her music are wise to call it borderless pop. Growing up in Buffalo, New York, music was about as common as oxygen in XIMXIA’s childhood home. She began studying classical piano as a precocious youngster and was soon writing and singing original songs with her two younger sisters. Before long, she was joining bands and winning over audiences at open mic nights. Following a stint studying piano performance at Montreal’s McGill University, XIMXIA’s music career landed her in New York City, Washington, DC (where her previous band performed at noted indie rock venue Black Cat), and now Los Angeles—the planet’s biggest pop hub. In September, XIMXIA revealed even more of her genre-busting truth with a new EP. The lead single “Anywhere But Here” was produced by #1 Billboard charting producer/writer Ted Kurie. The horror-themed music video was written and directed by Wayne Williams. www.ximxia.com www.instagram.com/ximxiamusic https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFt--sc3qvpHbxZ4HFzfPhA?view_as=subscriber https://open.spotify.com/artist/3NI1p3IVpB8gWWnrSnpXz2 www.facebook.com/ximxiamusic www.twitter.com/ximxiamusic
Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Niiko x SWAE over Zoom video! The best of house/future house is yet to come, with Niiko x SWAE at the subgenres' richly hued helm. Residing in the lush LA musical landscape, the DJ/producer duo materialized in 2017, equipped with “Run This Town,” charting at No. 16 on the Billboard Dance Club radar—a relatively unheard of feat for an embryonic EDM act. The melodic number spellbound the streaming circuit, garnering well over a million plays on Spotify alone in just months’ time.In addition to their release repertoire, rarely does an act as nascent as Niiko x SWAE boast such an acclaimed touring arsenal. These “Keep On Calling” creators have laid claim to ravenously in-demand residencies with both HAKKASAN Las Vegas and OMNIA San Diego. Breakaway 2018 and Coachella 2019 co-conspirators, Niiko x SWAE have also lent stage support to some of the most potent superpowers in the dance music domain, including Marshmello, Kaskade, and Zedd, among others. The duo started the year off with “The Answer”, an official release on Proximity, which quickly amassed several hundred thousand cross platform streams. With editorial support from Spotify’s Friday Cratediggers and Apple Music’s New In Dance as well as Radio and Mix Show support from the likes of Jauz, Allison Wonderland, Cheat Codes and more. With upcoming releases on Gemstone, Armada, Musical Freedom, and more, expect Niiko x SWAE to continue their upward trajectory. Niiko x SWAE just released a new single ‘Friends’ on Hardwell’s sub-label Gemstone. The single in on track to hit over 1 million streams only a few weeks after release. We want to hear from you! Lately, Party Favorz has been multi-tasking and about to wrap a month(s) long process of cleaning up the backend of the website and streamlining everything to keep the Google gods happy. I am currently working on a standalone app for the website that you can install on your desktop or mobile device for quick and easy access while receiving alerts about new episodes. Cool, huh? In the interim, I'm bringing y'all the latest and greatest from the disco gods to your happy ears. Let's Go Dancin' retains all the funky house elements of previous efforts but it's much more polished, a little laidback and reminds me of music you'd hear in an upscale bar while mingling and sipping on martinis. There's a plethora of classic disco samples and some reworks along with "Found Love" by Double Dee and Dany. If you remember or haven't gotten to it yet — that was a #1 Billboard Dance Club song from 1990 and recently featured on The Ultimate 90's House Music Classics [1988 – 1991] Vol. 2. Over the years, it's been updated several times and David Penn spins his 2020 magic while staying true to the original. [youtube v="KI4FBXm4OHU"] Originally, I thought I wasn't going to have enough tracks to fill this out but boy was I wrong. It clocks in at 3 hours of pure disco bliss. After having previewed it multiple times — I can assure you discophiles will not be disappointed. The plan is to drop the next Peak Hour set next week followed by (fingers crossed) HW20, which is our annual Dance Club Halloween set. Sorry, no new Circuit Tribal House sets until the Holiday Edition because there's just not enough at the moment and I'm not going to release a set featuring all DJ Dario and DJ Furi Drums who have both become their own automated remix machines. Cool weather keeps making an appearance and leaves just as quickly so it feels like fall and winter are going to be a hit or miss around the southeast. As long as temps remain reasonable and there's plenty of sunshine — I'm golden. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Until the next time...ENJOY! Yesterday's post on voting was NOT the urgent notice I had promised you folks. That was more of a stream of conscious choice I made at the last moment urging y'all to vote. I'll be posting upcoming changes to the subscription plans tomorrow so be sure to keep an eye out for that because it WILL most certainly effect many of you. Please stay tuned... The annual Catch-Up series features the biggest Dance Club songs from December through June. Either the tracks topped most DJ charts or are personal picks that racked up millions of views on YouTube. Even with Billboard Dance Club charts on current hiatus — the method they use to rank their songs is seriously flawed because it all depends on what type of venue the DJs report from that determines their popularity. That's where our expertise in picking the hits comes in. Dua Lipa leads the pack for best dance club songs of the year I say this only because there were several really dark and not exactly overwhelming songs that topped that chart earlier this year. Most are included save one. Party Favorz pulled from Beatport charts, YouTube tallies, and personal picks, which puts Dua Lipa ahead of the pack. Her "Don't Start Now" reached #2 on the Top 100 and #1 on the Dance Club charts and has been hovering in the Top 100 for over 33 weeks making it not only a contender for one of the biggest songs of the year but for the summer. Due to the pandemic and her inability to tour and promote her new and highly underrated album "Future Nostalgia," the label has been furiously releasing track after track and commissioning remixes for them to see what sticks. "Physical" and "Break My Heart" (currently climbing the charts) are pure pop pleasures and the remixes that have accompanied them are stellar. Purple Disco Machine leads the pack for best DJ of the year Another DJ that shows up a lot here is Purple Disco Machine. There's no doubt that his brand of throwback Disco House is striking a nerve among dance enthusiasts making him one of the most in-demand DJs in the business. Party Favorz would like to think we had a hand in his success when we released "Catching Up with Purple Disco Machine" back in 2018 realizing that this guy was the one to watch. As usual - we were right. Party Favorz is back with a mid-week dump that's bound to fuel your parties through summer. The annual Catch-Up series features the biggest Dance Club songs from December through June. Either the tracks topped most DJ charts or are personal picks that racked up millions of views on YouTube. Even with Billboard Dance Club charts on current hiatus — the method they use to rank their songs is seriously flawed because it all depends on what type of venue the DJ's report from that determines their popularity. That's where our expertise in picking the hits comes in. Dua Lipa leads the pack for best dance club songs of the year I say this only because there were several really dark and not exactly overwhelming songs that topped that chart earlier this year. Most are included save one. Party Favorz pulled from Beatport charts, YouTube tallies and personal picks, which puts Dua Lipa ahead of the pack. Her "Don't Start Now" reached #2 on the Top 100 and #1 on the Dance Club charts and has been hovering in the Top 100 for over 33 weeks making it not only a contender for one of the biggest songs of the year but of the summer. There's not doubt that his brand of throwback Disco House is striking a nerve among dance enthusiasts making him one of the most in demand DJ's in the business. All your favorite club bangers from the past 6 months are here and we dropped the personal favorite "Good Time Girl" by Sofi Tukker mainly because it was released last year and was given new life as the opening theme song for "The New Pope" in favor of the brand-spanking new track "House Arrest" with Gorgon City. This song has shot to the top of every DJ playlist and rightfully so. It's a Deep House thumper with a catchy rhythm backed by Sophie Hawley-Weld's hypnotic vocals. This song is truly a delight in the current minefield of mediocre releases. [youtube v="z-3bC2MT9xw"] If it seems I've been pushing the latest from Alex Newell "Boy, You Can Keep It" — it's because the Tracy Young remix is simply a delightful summer cocktail of fun coupled with the perfect vocal styling of Mr. Newell. This song would undoubtedly be sitting at the top of Billboard's Dance Club charts if this covid shit hadn't messed everything up. Just know that there's plenty of Disco House in this set to offset the darker moments from earlier in the year. If you're into commercial dance music this is the set you're gonna wanna grab because it's got it all. I've got the annual Beach House set for release late next week just in time for 4th of July. While it hasn't been started yet — expect something a little different this time around. Until then...ENJOY! Diana Ross is quite possibly the most perpetual force in music history to outlast all of her contemporaries. Whether as part of The Supremes in the 1960's or as a solo artist from the 1970's through today — the woman is a tour de force in an industry that was built by men on the backs of artists like herself. Yet, she's still here banging out remixes of her back catalog and racking up #1 Dance Club hits 60 years later. The woman is like an "aching in my heart" that won't go away. Years ago, Party Favorz had attempted an ultimate remix series for Miss Ross that many of you loved but I was never happy with. Then the Almighty remixes dropped featuring many unlikely high energy remixes of songs like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Touch Me In the Morning" that I put together a tribute set that was worthy of her highness. Fast forward to today and many of her past hits (with legendary Eric Kupper at the helm) have been remixed for today's dance floors, which have generated four #1 Billboard Dance Club hits including ANMHE, "Upside Down/I'm Coming Out," "The Boss," and "Love Hangover." On May 29th, Diana in conjunction with Motown Records will release her 2nd remix album featuring these tracks plus "Surrender," "No One Get's the Prize," "It's My House," "Touch Me In the Morning," and "Remember Me" all with Eric Kupper performing the remix honors. The digital version will be released on May 29th, while the CD and crystal-clear vinyl editions will follow on June 26th. You can pre-order them here. While there have been many remixes of her songs over the years, fans continue to create modern-day remixes, which are featured in this tribute set, which includes the Almighty remixes, but also remixes by Barry Harris, Dirty Disco, Jet Boot Jack, Thee Werq'n B!Tches among many others. So as not to preempt the sales of her forthcoming remix set, Party Favorz only included one remix by Eric Kupper. It is with much love, devotion, and sincere admiration of one of the most prolific if not crucial musical artists of this century, Party Favorz proudly presents the Ultimate Diva Series honoring the fabulous Miss Ross. Junior Vasquez who was born Donald Gregory Mattern (really?) is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. With ambitions of becoming a fashion designer, he moved to New York City in 1971. His enthusiasm for DJ Larry Levan at the infamous Paradise Garage led him to Shep Pettibone (another DJ/producer begging for a Legacy induction) where they edited mixes for multiple artists like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, and more. Several of his earliest underground house hits like "Work That Pussy" and "Drag Queen" were under the moniker Ellis D with the latter featured here. In 1989, he co-founded the Sound Factory and simultaneously became an in demand remixer for several big label artists. After the Sound Factory closed in 1995, he held multiple residencies including at the Tunnel, and subsequently returned to the former Sound Factory now called Arena. IF MADONNA CALLS Junior introduced Madonna to vogue at the Sound Factory, which served as an inspiration to massively successful song in 1990 by the same name. At the time, she was making a name for herself on the dancefloor by embracing the emerging House Music sounds and flipping them to a more commercial audience. She has long been associated with dance music trends by associating herself with underground names like Shep Pettibone and William Orbit before latching onto Junior Vasquez to remix several tracks from her "Bedtime Stories" album. It was around this time she had allegedly agreed to perform at one of Junior's Sound Factory shows and bowed out at the last moment. Queens being queens, Junior took one of the messages she left on his answering machine and looped it into the deep house groove "If Madonna Calls" without her permission using the phrase "this is Madonna" "are you there" "call me in Miami." The bitch track went all the way to #2 on the Billboard Dance Club charts and spawned multiple remixes — including anniversary remixes. Afterwards, any chance of reconciliation and working together again went out the door. This actually turned out to be lucky move on her part as she went on to introduce the world to Victor Calderone and Peter Rauhofer (who was already riding high with Club 69). Nevertheless, neither of them are getting any younger and clearly Madge is going through some things at the moment. It's time to come together and bury the hatchet. Life's too short for former besties to hold onto grudges. This set does not really reflect any official Junior remixes of Madonna other than "Secret" and the fabulous Marvin Gaye rendering of "I Want You" where Junior was commissioned to remix the track but it never received an official release. DIVA DIVA DIVA Scroll through the list of of diva's in the Party Favorz "Diva Hall of Fame" and you will be hard-pressed to find anyone Junior hasn't remixed. From Annie Lennox to Whitney Houston and every diva in between, there's hardly anyone in there that he doesn't know or hasn't remixed. Seriously! These two volumes honoring the master DJ are nowhere near as comprehensive and representative of this man's work and barely scratch the surface. It would take probably 10 sets to really showcase his amazing talent. Drugs, Sex and Dance In 2006, Junior gave an interview to A&U (America's AIDS Magazine) about a 5 year period where everything was a blur due to abusing crystal meth. I remember this article very well but it appears to have been taken down and his Wikipedia page omits it entirely. While he's clean and sober now and starting a new chapter in his life — this is an important story that shouldn't be buried. There are excerpts and message boards dedicated to this dark period in his life but it's not fair to quote any of them without the original interview as a source. I understand there is currently a biopic being made about his life. Considering how long he's been in the industry and how many artists he's worked with — it's my hope that they don't whitewash an important factor of...

That collaboration spawned several more releases and the eventual compilation of F*ck Me I'm Famous. in 2003. In 2004, their collaborations continued with the release of Guetta Blaster. His superstar status skyrocketed with the massively successful "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland and later "Titanium" with Sia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRfuAukYTKg As the dance music world evolved, so did his style. He went from Electro-House to EDM and now Future House, Reggaeton, and whatever the current trend in dance music takes him. David Guetta is still in high demand and often releases tracks under his pseudonym Jack Black. He just had a number-one Billboard Dance Club hit with "Put Your Phone Down (Low)" not to mention the wildly successful "Wild Ones" with Nicky Romero and Sia. You could say that David Guetta paved the way for other superstar DJs like Avicii, Calvin Harris, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers by elevating these folks not just from being a DJ or dance party promoters but to multi-talented artists in their own right. It's with great love and respect for the man and his music that Party Favorz recognizes the very talented David Guetta with an induction into our Legacy series. There are a lot of memories built into this set and I fully expect a lot of you to fall back on your heels when you hear a lot of these older tracks again. 10 years ago was not that far back but many of these songs are now considered classics. Because his output is so extensive, I attempted to culminate some of his early work with the majority of his biggest hits, which ultimately span two sets.

His superstar status skyrocketed with the massively successful "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland and later "Titanium" with Sia. As the dance music world evolved, so did his style. He went from Electro-House to EDM and now Future House, Reggaeton and whatever the current trend in dance music takes him. David Guetta is still in high demand and often releases tracks under his pseudonym Jack Black. In fact, he just had a number one Billboard Dance Club hit with "Put Your Phone Down (Low)" not to mention the wildly successful "Wild Ones" with Nicky Romero and Sia. You could say that David Guetta paved the way for other superstar DJs like Avicii, Calvin Harris, Marshmello and, The Chainsmokers by elevating these folks not just from being a DJ or dance party promoter but to multi-talented artists in their own right. It's with great love and respect for the man and his music that Party Favorz recognizes the very talented David Guetta with an induction into our Legacy series. There's a lot of memories built into this set and I fully expect a lot of you to fall back on your heels when you hear a lot of these older tracks again. 10 years ago was not that far back but many of these songs are now considered classics. Because his output is so extensive, I attempted to culminate some of his early work with the majority of his biggest hits, which ultimately spans two sets. Expect volume 2 to drop tomorrow. Until then...ENJOY! Album: David Guetta – The Dance Legacy Series vol. 1 Genre: EDM, House Music Year: 2019 Total Time: 01:34:39 1. Would I Lie To You (Cash Cash Club Mix) [with Cedric Gervais feat. Pierre David Guetta born 7 November 1967) is a French DJ, music programmer, record producer, and songwriter. He has sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide.[2] In 2011, Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll.[3] In 2013, Billboard crowned "When Love Takes Over" as the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.[4] David Guetta had already been involved in the club scene since 1984 - 2000. However, it wasn't until he and partner Joachim Garraud collaborated with the American Gospel singer Chris Willis for a series of songs with including their first single "Just a Little More Love." That collaboration spawned several more releases and the eventual compilation of F*ck Me I'm Famous. in 2003. In 2004, their collaborations continued on the release of Guetta Blaster. After releasing four semi-successful singles it was a mashup of "Just a Little More Love" and the Tocadisco remix of The Egg's "Walking Away" titled "Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)" that blew up the global dance floors.
I figured I'd get a jump on things and drop an unexpected surprise for you folks next week in its stead. Party Favorz decided to bring the party indoors and is releasing the annual Holiday Edition a week early! The Holiday Edition 2018 is chock-full of the biggest Circuit Tribal House music blowing up at the moment. In addition to a brand-spanking new track from the one and only Barbra Streisand, inspired by the current administration and the occupation by individual 1 in OUR HOUSE, there are two more tracks from the soundtrack and its companion "The Greatest Showman," which is turning out to be the gift that keeps on giving. To boot, we've got the #1 Billboard Dance Club track and the #1Top 100 song of the moment, "Breathin'" and "Thank You, Next" by Ariana Grande, a slew of new Lady Gaga tracks off of the " A Star Is Born" soundtrack mixed by Barry Harris, a tribute mix to Queen "Under Pressure" who are defying all odds with $487.5 million in ticket sales for their biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody," which I'm dying to see, as well as several throwbacks. In that category, Barry Harris "refreshed" the Weather Girls classic "It's Raining Men" that keeps the original intact but adds a lot of oomph, making it perfect for big room events. Susu Bobien has faithfully recreated the Loleatta Holloway classic "Love Sensation," while Jeanie Tracy takes a turn on the Sylvester classic "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)," both of which are currently climbing the dance charts. While I can't discuss every track I do want to make a couple of noteworthy mentions: Dirty Disco shreds Anggun's latest "The Good Is Back" turning it into a massive floor-filler that should be picked up for every DJ's arsenal. You'll also notice that I included Kendra Erika's remake of the Laura Branigan classic "Self Control" after slamming it in my last post. The Ralphi Rosario and Erick Ibiza club mix allows Erika's vocals to shine and the production value is more palatable than the Dirty Werk version I was using. My apologies to Kendra. I want to give a BIG shoutout to Ludovic D. for his generous donation. If you haven't donated yet, please consider making a contribution towards my efforts. There is no amount too big or small that will be accepted. I hope everyone's having nicer weather than we are in the south and gearing up for the holidays. I'll be back next week. with that surprise, I mentioned earlier. Until then...ENJOY! Album: Holiday Edition 2018 Genre: Circuit, Tribal, House Year: 2018 Total Time: 02:52:19 1. Party Favorz is back with a new entry into the Diva Hall of Fame. Erika Jayne (Erika Girardi) was born and raised in Atlanta, GA (my adopted home city) and rose to prominence with the release of her debut single Rollercoaster in 2007, which topped the Billboard Dance Club chart. Subsequent singles like Stars, Give You Everything, and Pretty Mess hit the top spot followed by the release of her underrated debut album Pretty Mess. Produced by the legendary Eric Kupper, the album was heavily influenced by 80's icons like Madonna and Prince while retaining an electro-pop sensibility that was modern at the time of its release. It really is stellar if you've never had the chance to listen to it. In keeping with our promise to induct virtually every Diva in Billboard's 100 Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists, Ms. Jayne ranks at no. 42 with a total of 9 number one club hits under her belt. Party Favorz was fortunate enough to interview Erika during her ascendancy, which is still available on the site. I am not a journalist, nor do I pretend to be. So it's a pretty meat and potatoes interview but she was nice enough to send us some really cool t-shirts that were later auctioned off. Many of you know Erika Jayne as a fan-favorite on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in addition to multiple stints on The Young and the Restless as well as other television shows. She continues to tour and appear at multiple Pride events throughout the country as we gays absolutely adore this woman. Just one look at her video for One Hot Pleasure and you'll know why. While Erika continues to release singles like the playful XX$PENSIVE (included here) and the recent Cars, she hasn't commissioned remixes like she did with her previous efforts. She has been remixed by some of the biggest names in the industry, so I took the liberty of including at least two different versions of her biggest hits in this set. They are so unique and different, it's often difficult to discern that they are the same song; giving testament to how strong the originals were. Erika is currently on a book tour for "dishy, tell-all memoir" Pretty Mess. You can get more information at Simon & Schuster's website. It is with great respect and admiration that Party Favorz inducts Erika Jayne into the Diva Hall of Fame. Pop this set in and not only relive your fondest and gayest memories but see how she has kept up with the musical landscape and adapted accordingly. We adore you, Erika. Keep doing what you're doing. Acclaimed singer/songwriter and actress Chloe Lattanzi releases her debut solo album, NO PAIN (co-written and co-produced with Jarrad Rogers), the follow-up to her #1 Billboard Dance Club hit, “You Have To Believe,” the acclaimed collaboration with her mother, international superstar Olivia Newton-John. Chloe began the project when she was signed to Warner Australia at the early age of 17, as a creative outlet to express her personal battle with body dysmorphia and anorexia. Although some leaked demos created excitement for the project, it was eventually put on hold as Chloe addressed her inner demons. “When I was making NO PAIN thirteen years ago, it was ‘never good enough' in my mind. Perfection was important to me. Now, the state-of-mind I'm in, I can hear the beauty and the vulnerability of the journey I was taking when I was making the album, and I wanted to share it with the world. I'm proud of it now.” Mike Wass, writing for Idolator says, “We've been blessed by the occasional stand-alone single (2010's “Wings And A Gun” and 2011's “Play With Me”) and a club-conquering duet with her mom. But none of those tracks rival the greatness of (NO PAIN). Chloe has a distinctive voice and, more importantly, something to say.” Chloe's Billboard debut, “You Have to Believe,” became the very first #1 hit on the Billboard Dance Club chart by a mother/daughter team. The music video inspired former Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, to create a role for her in his successful zombie film, Dead 7, which premiered earlier this year on the SyFy Channel. In 2008, Chloe garnered national attention on the MTV reality show Rock the Cradle, where she was the last female singer standing, coming in third in the finale.
Join The Randy Report as I talk extensively with Chloe Lattanzi, who with her mother Olivia Newton-John, made history as the first mother/daughter team to hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart with their new hit, "You Have To Believe." Chloe talks about the genesis of the project, taking on the challenge of re-imagining her mother's 1980s #1 hit "Magic" into something new for their fans, and the Las Vegas-centric music video. She also chats on her movie, Dead 7, for Syfy where she kicks zombie butt alongside Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, Howie Dorough & A.J. McLean, plus NSYNC's Joey Fatone.
It was the summer of 1991 when my ex, Eddie and I traveled to New York. This was my first trip to the Big Apple, though he had been many times. It was the era of Mayor Dinkins and Times Square was a shell of it's current glory or, pretty much a shit hole laced with drugs, prostitutes and porn theaters. One of the most memorable moments when we landed was "Gypsy Woman' blaring out the speakers in our cab heading to Manhattan. I had never heard it as it didn't sound like typical Top 40 fare. Its catchy house beat, and organ grinder riff with the artist singing "la da dee, la dee da" made it one of those songs that just stuck in my head as Eddie and I romped around the city waiting for our friend Margie to get off work. The artist was new-comer Crystal Waters. The following evening, Eddie and I were on our own and in a sign of poor judgement (or naiveté about New York at night during this time period), we hopped on a train at midnight and headed toward the Village to go to a club called Monster that had been recommended to us earlier in the day. Eddie had to pee, so we got off in Times Square only to find the restrooms closed at that time of night. So he had to do a quicky behind some pillars. The subway station was dark, dank and very eery. A stranger was walking towards us while I hurried him along to finish his business. Next train shows up and we were out of there! Once we got to the Monster we walked in at street-level and were introduced to a massive piano bar with folks singing along to old Olivia Newton-John songs. We went through the doors in the back and down a narrow stairwell that opens up into a basement club full of gay men dancing to the latest house music. Once 'Gypsy Woman' starting playing from the speakers, I grabbed Eddie's hand and we ran onto the dance floor and didn't leave most of the night (except to grab the occasional drink). Margie later chastised us for wondering off and even worse stopping in Times Square after midnight without accompaniment. Okay, yelled. Gypsy Woman is packed with so many memories from our trip it that is one of the most memorable highlights of my life. Gypsy Woman was originally written for Ultra Nate (another Diva Hall of Fame inductee held in very high esteem around here). Crystal's original demo never made it into her hands and in true DIVA form, she kept it for herself. To be fair, her demo was so good that it won her a recording contract with Mercury Records. The song itself reached #8 on the Top 40 and #1 on the club charts. Crystal went on to land another Top 40 hit with '100% Pure Love' which peaked at #11 and stayed on the Hot 100 charts for a record-breaking 45 weeks. It also landed at the top of the Billboard Dance/Club charts along with 'Makin' Happy' 'Come on Down' 'My Time' 'Oh Mama Hey' and most very recently 'Believe.' Crystal Waters is HOUSE MUSIC and more than deserving to be included in the DHF with contemporaries like Barbara Tucker, Ultra Nate and Martha Wash. It is for these reasons and others too numerous to mention, that Crystal Waters officially be inducted into the Diva Hall of Fame. With much love and respect, Party Favorz honors Crystal with our highest level of excellence. Thank you for the memories. This installment presents a diverse array of Hex Hector's work, from chart-dominating hits to those hidden gems that truly deserved more time in the limelight. Starting off with Everything But The Girl's "Temperamental," remixed in collaboration with Mac Quayle, the set instantly sets a mood. This track has a special place for me, prompting those rare moments of introspective reflection. Hex and Quayle's treatment of the song offers a nuanced depth, letting you tap into your inner musings while you dance. Diana Ross's classic "I Will Survive" makes an appearance in this set, proving that Hex's magic touch can elevate even the most iconic of tracks. It's a bold move to tackle a song of such stature, but Hex pulls it off, reimagining it while honoring its essence. For those who like a dash of nostalgia, Mandy Moore's "Candy" is transformed into a dance floor must-play. The innocence and youthful vibe of the original find new layers under Hex Hector's creative direction, making it a compelling experience. Mikaila's "So In Love With Two" is another intriguing inclusion. Not a track that everyone may be familiar with, but it showcases Hex's ability to dig deep and turn any song into a dance hit. While these mixes include some of his well-known classics, the set also delves into lesser-known tracks like the ultra-rare "Relax" by Mika. Some of these tracks may have been minor club hits, but that doesn't make them any less worthy of a spot in this playlist. A couple of them even soared to the top of the Billboard Dance Club charts, proving that Hex's influence isn't just felt in the most popular of hits, but also in the deeper cuts that only true enthusiasts might know. So, as we gear up for the final installment of this Hex Hector Mixology series, Volume 7 serves as a special gift to his most devoted fans. If your favorite track hasn't shown up yet, don't worry. There's still one more chance for it to make an appearance. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album : Hex Hector Mixology v7Genre : Circuit House ClassicsYear : 2015Total Time : 01:10:13 1.
