Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) ask the question War, what is it good for on “Nor the Battle to the Strong”. We celebrate the acting from Cirroc Lofton and others, we appreciate the ER-esque pacing in the hospital scenes and we discuss the 1940's era storyline and acting from guest stars as we look at what this episode is doing when it comes to military propaganda. Matthew asks if the dude who shot himself in the foot had a solid escape plan and Jo rants about Jake's writing career path. Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) gaze into a “Shattered Mirror” as we return to the Mirror Universe with Jennifer Sisko. We praise Cirroc Lofton's acting in this episode, we analyze all of Ben Sisko's actions that have led to this single episode and we revel in the hilarity of this ridiculous but fun episode of Star Trek. We both wonder if Sisko has the heighest kill count of any Federation Captain and Jo rants about how much she loves tall women. We put this episode in conversation with the classic TNG episode “The Inner Light”, we praise the acting of Tony Todd and how he and Avery Brooks were able to deliver the same intimate, father/son relationship that Avery Brooks and Cirroc Lofton have developed over the course of the series and we explore what this episode is saying about Jake's grief and connect it to how the series premiere addresses Ben's grief. Tony and Laurie talk about the WGA strike, including the impact on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. They then take a look at the brand-new trailer for Strange New Worlds season 2, which has the first clip from the show’s crossover with Lower Decks and the first bit of dialogue from Carol Kane. It's the fourth episode of our second season. Host Dominic Keating is home healing from injury. As such, Connor and Erica are joined by guest host, Producer Mark, to shoot the breeze with an actor we all watched grow up on Star Trek Deep Space Nine: Cirroc Lofton, beloved for his roll as Jake Sisko, son of Captain Sisko. "The kid from DS9" is all grown up and has a lot of terrific stories to tell. We discuss Cirroc's life, his first experiences as a child actor, his thoughts on growing up on Trek, and more. Trek conventions. Trek convention body guards. Launching restaurants. Hosting his very successful podcast "The 7th Rule", which he started with Deep Space Nine bestie, and real life great guy, the late Aron Eisenberg (Nog from DS9). Erica gets some fan questions in, we play Trek Trivia, and more. It's another conversation episode, this time with a real cool cat who happened to grow up a block from where we sat to talk. Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Sacrifice of Angels Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E6: Sacrifice of Angels. In this episode, Sisko and the Federation fleet try to break through the Dominion barrier and re-take Deep Space Nine but some angels must be sacrificed as the drama of this episode unfolds. We wrap up a big story arc with a slew of guest stars in Marc Alaimo (Dukat), Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun), Casey Biggs (Damar), Melanie Smith (Ziyal), Andrew Robinson (Garak) and Salome Jens (evil changeling). Sacrifice of Angels In Sacrifice of Angels, everything appears bleak as the Federation fleet faces a much stronger enemy while trying not to give up hope. Even when Sisko and the Defiant break through enemy lines, hope of success is nearly gone. Meanwhile, Kira and her cohorts have been jailed to thwart any rebellion, leaving some unlikely heroes to emerge. The Federation's only chance now hinges on Quark and Odo! Will Quark find a way to help his friends rather than hide behind the bar? Will Odo finally pull his head out of the Great Link (literally) and take action? What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Please listen to some of our favorite episodes like Duet, The Visitor or Rejoined or our VERY SPECIAL episode: Star Trek First Contact. And be sure to listen to our previous episode S6E5: Favor the Bold. Next time... Join us next week for Season 6, episode 7: You are Cordially Invited. Welcome to Rebinge DS9 S6E6: Sacrifice of Angels where Sisko and crew are wildly outnumbered in their attempt to retake the station.
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Favor the Bold Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E5: Favor the Bold. In this episode, we head back to the station to take out the (Cardassian and Dominion) trash! Meanwhile, Odo is still under the spell of the evil changeling (Salome Jens). Favor the Bold In Favor the Bold, Sisko is done sitting around waiting for something to happen. So he's reading Bajoran prophecies and preparing to take his station back. Odo is still spending way too much time with that crazy cult leader (also known as the female changeling). Kira is not amused as she's doing everything she can to try and save Rom from being executed. What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Behind the Lines Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E4: Behind the Lines. In this episode, Major Kira and crew hatch a plan to stop the Cardassians from taking down the mine field. Unfortunately, Odo isn't completely focused as he's hanging out with the evil changeling (Salome Jens). Behind the Lines This week the female changeling turns up and manages to turn Odo's head with a drug called The Great Link. Meanwhile, Sisko turns over the Defiant to Dax when he accepts a promotion. Nobody seems particularly happy in this episode, except maybe Damar...and that is never good. What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Welcome to Rebinge DS9 S6E4: Behind the Lines where Odo is too distracted by the great link to notice Kira and Rom are in deep trouble.
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Sons and Daughters Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E3: Sons and Daughters. Some of our favorite repeating characters are back as well as some of our not so favorite...you can determine which is which. Plus we get a new version of Worf's son Alexander now played by Marc Worden. So we get a little parental drama on the station with Ziyal and Dukat and a little Klingon parental drama with Worf and Alexander. Sons and Daughters In this episode, Martok's ship gets some new reinforcements and everyone (especially Worf) is surprised to see Alexander Rozhenko as one of the new recruits. There is a lot of drama as Worf has to face the truth about how he has mistreated his own son. Back on the station, Ziyal and Dukat are patching up their relationship as Dukat pretends to be a good father while irritating Major Kira at every turn. What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Welcome to Rebinge DS9 S6E3: Sons and Daughters where Worf's son Alexander returns to remind Worf that he's not as virtuous as he wants everyone else to be.
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Rocks and Shoals Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E2: Rocks and Shoals! In the aftermath of a dangerous mission, Sisko and crew are stranded on a planet where they are not alone. This week's guest stars include Christopher Shea as Keevan and Phil Morris as Remata'Klan. Rocks and Shoals After last week's successful mission, the crew crashes their Jem'Hadar ship on a supposedly deserted planet! But you know it's not deserted! There's some crazy Jem'Hadar also stranded there - and no planet is big enough for both Starfleet and the Dominion. Meanwhile back at the station, Major Kira is having a crisis of conscience and is starting to feel like a traitor to her own people. Lots of drama! Rebinging Star Trek DS9: A Time to Stand WE ARE BACK! Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E1: A Time to Stand! The Dominion war is not going well and in this episode the DS9 crew gets a dangerous new assignment. Back on the station Major Kira is gritting her teeth every day as she puts up with Dukat and the Cardassians. This episode is full of the usual guest stars like Marc Alaimo (Dukat), Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun), Casey Biggs (Damar) and our favorite JG Hertzler (Martok). Even Brock Peters as Grandpa Joe makes a brief appearance! A Time to Stand Starfleet finally has a plan that makes sense - we send Sisko and crew to destroy a big ketracel-white storage facility using the previously acquired Jem'Hadar ship (see The Ship). While this is a good plan, it is also a very dangerous one! Back on the station, Major Kira has to deal with pretending to be ok with the occupying force on her station. While she tries to put on a smiling face, Dukat is busy being threatening and generally disgusting. This is an intense opening to a season! What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Call to Arms Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 26 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Call to Arms where the promised Dominion War kicks into high gear. Jeffrey Combs, Marc Alaimo, Chase Masterson and JG Hertzler are all here to send season 5 out with a bang! Call to Arms Sisko prepares for a Dominion attack on the station starting with a minefield at the mouth of the wormhole. The war is lost if we can't stop Dominion ships from entering the alpha quadrant! While we prepare for war, Rom and Leeta try to start their life together as a married couple. Welcome to S5E26 of Rebinge DS9: Call to Arms where the Dominion war begins and Dukat is practically glowing in smugness.
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: In the Cards Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 25 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: In the Cards where we mix a light-hearted story (Jake and Nog) with one of gloom and doom (Kai Winn's fear of the Dominion). It's always great to have the the character of Kai Winn back in an episode but it comes on the heels of the announcement of Louise Fletcher's death at the age of 88. While we lose another great member of the Star Trek family, her contributions to the franchise will live on forever. In the Cards Sisko (and everyone else) are depressed and weary from the Dominion war. Jake and Nog decide to try and cheer up Sisko by obtaining a very rare baseball card. While they are working on that plan, they get inadvertently tangled in the precarious relationship between Bajor and the Dominion. What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. [Review starts at 22:39] Tony and Laurie start with the news that all of the TOS and TNG movies have been removed from Paramount+, then round up the latest tweets from Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas and tell listeners how to enter a drawing to win the Picard season 2 Blu-ray or DVD set. They talk about William Shatner's new book and his estrangement from Leonard Nimoy, and check out reactions to last week's Lower Decks episodes from DS9 vets Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, and Cirroc Lofton (and clear up the mystery of Quark's teeth). They look ahead to Lower Decks‘ future and Mike McMahan's interest in working some of the Enterprise cast into the show. After that, they take on the hefty task of reviewing Lower Decks‘ wackadoo new episode “A Mathematically Perfect Redemption.” They wrap up with the Doctor Who movie that could've been directed by Leonard Nimoy and a way to celebrate Star Trek Christmas year-round.

We are joined by SyFy Sistas, an incredible Star Trek podcast, to discuss Deep Space Nine’s second episode, “The Visitor”. It’s a heart wrenching episode and a great representation of family and black love. Here is a link to the wonderful interview SyFy Sistas did with Cirroc Lofton. The post Emissaries of Profits — “The Visitor” ft. SyFy Sistas appeared first on Androids and Assets.
It was late on a Thursday night and the Sistas were a little punchy. But never fear they perked up just enough to give you their opinions on Star Trek Discovery's latest episode "Kobayashi Maru". Although we were a bit distracted by the Grace Jones - like costume changes. This is the Season 1 finale of the SyFy Sistas Podcasts. We will return on our First Year Anniversary (December 24th) with Episode 1 of Season 2. A special thank you to Ryan T. Husk and Cirroc Lofton of the 7th Rule Podcast for always having our backs and promoting us (https://www.patreon.com/the7thrule). And to Bill and Dan of Trek Geeks for giving us that slot during Black History Month and offering us a spot on the roster. (https://www.trekgeeks.com/shows) We give a special shout out to our sound engineer DoS, the Anonymous. This week on Episode 528 of Priority One: We delve into the whale-filled washup of the season finale of Lower Decks, Anson Mount discusses literally sitting in the captain's chair, and is that a star on top of the Christmas tree or a Borg baby spray-painted gold? In gaming news, we take a closer look at Star Trek Online's Halloween event, and roll for shield strength in a new release from Star Trek Adventures! TREK IT OUT Edited by Thomas Reynolds What's the Deal With All These Feels, McMahan? By Elio Lleo Mike McMahan, the creator of Star Trek: Lower Decks, isn't resting on his laurels! Nope! After a (generally) well-received Season 2 of the Star Trek animated adventure, McMahan is making the rounds talking about the season–which wrapped last week on October 14th. Sam Stone of Comic Book Resource jumped right in and asked about its unusual villain: the Pakleds. McMahan's explanation: When we were writing the first season, we were in the thick of a pretty dark time across the world–the re-rise of fascism across multiple countries, obviously a lot of politics happening in this country and, not to put too fine a point to it, things that had seemed like a joke in the first place suddenly becoming much more dangerous because we weren't vigilant about it. The Pakleds seemed like a perfect opportunity for that… [This sight gag doesn't work in a podcast app but I stand by it nonetheless–Ed.] Image: ViacomCBS, via Comic Book Resource. Really Be Careful What You Wish For, Mariner What about that incredible cliffhanger? Well according to McMahan, the goal of Season 2 was meant to show Mariner “grappling with themes of betrayal and being left.” Supposedly, Mariner's got some past trauma that we haven't been privy to yet. Nevertheless, McMahan explains that Mariner will start Season 3 struggling to deal with having her mother taken from her. [NOT JUST HER, MIKE–Ed.] When talking with StarTrek.com he explained, “...in the first season we were really creating a family, and in the second season we kind of tested them. And in the finale of the second season, we're dealing with the loss, the family breaking up.” What about our other characters? Well, there seems to be something deeper going on with Rutherford. Something more than just a faulty cybernetic implant. MacMahan tells CBR.com, “... it's about Rutherford. There's stuff about Rutherford that he doesn't even realize and this is his second implant.” They go on to discuss some of the other character dynamics–like the “will they/won't they” tension between Rutherford and Tendi–along with some takeaways McMahan learned from the first two seasons. Mainly that anyone you talk to could secretly be Jeffrey Combs. Anyone. Image: ViacomCBS, via Comic Book Resource. Center Chair, Hot Seat, Call It What You Will By Cat Hough If you have not had a chance to see the new trailer for the upcoming History Channel docu-series The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, you should definitely trek it out. According to the press release, The Center Seat will be “the ultimate Star Trek documentary that everyone has always wanted, and now they're getting.” Each episode of the series will focus on a different chapter in Star Trek history, starting with the inception of the original Star Trek series at Desilu. But even the trailer features some pretty saucy quotes from the cast and crew of the various shows and movies. https://youtu.be/J_IOHcPuN3Q For example, we hear more from Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Kate Mulgrew and Robert Beltran about their less than ideal working circumstances and for Cirroc Lofton–we hear about his extreme dislike for having to wear the “onesie” uniform while also going through puberty. Nicolas Meyer, writer of The Undiscovered Country, speaks about how much William Shatner hated the script for the movie and the effect that had on, well, pretty much everyone else involved [yeah and you thought Final Frontier was a good idea, now sit down–Ed.] Mmmm. Taste that grain. Image: ViacomCBS, via Deadline. The show doesn't cover any of the new Trek series, but definitely appears to be a comprehensive and detailed exploration of the Star Trek universe over the first 55 years of the show. Created by the Nacelle Company, who also produced Netflix's The Movies That Made Us and The Toys That Made Us, the series is narrated by Dr. Beverly Crusher herself, Gates McFadden, and directed by Nacelle Company founder Brian Volk-Weiss. There's not been an official release date given other than it should premiere sometime this fall. Festivities Will Now Commence By Rosco McQueen It's the most wonderful time of year; when the nanoprobes gently come to rest on ornaments hanging from the boughs of a tree, and assimilation tubules shine in the festive glow of twinkling lights. Christmas is soon upon us, and you can count down to festive assimilation with the 2021 Borg Cube advent calendar. The calendar features 24 Trek gifts behind alcoves (or windows if you prefer) and includes gifts of socks, coasters, and an espresso cup commemorating the first warp speed flight in 2063. It's made by Eaglemoss, the same company who also made a TARDIS-shaped advent calendar for devout Whovians, and is available for purchase now. It could be just the thing to put you in the mood for Picard season 2, with the Borg Queen to feature as part of the time-travelling tale. And speaking of season 2… I hope one of those is an apology to Icheb and Hugh. Image: Eaglemoss. Soji's Sojourn By Rosco McQueen In an interview with Trekmovie.com, Isa Briones spoke about where we find Soji in Picard season 2: a place where she can finally be herself, now that being an android is no longer outlawed. “We're definitely seeing a new kind of level of her evolution as she's coming into her own. She's finally allowed to be who she is and be accepted by the universe, the galaxy, whatever you want to call it. So yeah, we get to see her in this new, more certain place of who she is. And that's very exciting.” The more certain place also has a pool? Jealous. Image: ViacomCBS, via TrekMovie.com The interview covered working under strict COVID conditions, as well as the broader strokes of season two and how it connects to the world we're living in. “There's a big emphasis, I think, on mental health, for sure. We're seeing these characters going through some hard moments and really leaning on each other and prioritizing their own mental health in order to save everyone else. And I think that's a very relatable storyline and a storyline that we need right now.” Your classic Good Cop/Borg Cop dynamic. Image: ViacomCBS, via TrekMovie.com We're All Batty for Strange New Worlds By Rosco McQueen The hype train continues heading towards the station for Strange New Worlds–even Anson Mount starring as Batman in the new DC animated movie Injustice can't stop interviewers from asking about the new series. Either that, or they ask about his starship's extended warranty. Image:ViacomCBS, via SYFY. Mount will play the role of the Dark Knight in the animated adaptation of the video game Injustice, where a traumatized Superman turns evil. In an interview with SYFY Wire, Mount talks about the recording process, and not being the first Christopher Pike to take a turn at Batman. (If you're playing along at home, Bruce Greenwood has voiced Batman a couple of times, and was also the Kelvin Universe's version of one of Starfleet's greatest captains). But when the discussion turned to Strange New Worlds, Mount reinforced the episodic nature of the show, as well as a moment that would give every Trek fan goosebumps. “I was just there as Anson in my own clothes and I sat down in the chair and it was in that moment that I flashed back to playing Star Trek as my make-believe game when I was like eight years old. Something about it was just really strangely emotional for me, and I'm still doing that. I don't even know really how to articulate it, but it's surreal and it's weird... but it's something that I'm so grateful for.” STAR TREK GAMING NEWS Edited by Thomas Reynolds Fanatical Devotion to the Many By Cat Hough Star Trek Online tweeted earlier today that the recent partnership with Fanatical offering in-game bundles to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America raised more than $77,000. Well done, everyone who donated! Cat's Tale of “Cat's Tale” By Cat Hough Well, it's been a week since the “Cat's Tale” Halloween TFO was released, and while it took players a few days to get to know how to navigate the phases of the TFO, it seems that most people are enjoying the mission. As you and your team are first transported to the castle on Pyris VII (or is it Boreth?) the music and lighting definitely set the mood for battling skeletons, witches, skulls and Devidians. In a creepy surprise, you're treated to some Bonnie-Kin voice-over as you make our way downstairs and through the hallways lighting candles–because it's dark in this castle! In the first phase, you are attacked by skeletons, but you can only kill them when they are standing within the circles of candlelight. Some equipment that we highly recommend is the Universal Kit Module - Gravity Containment Unit Mk XII. You can get this kit module as a Tier IV reward from the Discovery reputation; if you use it while you're standing in the circles, then you can just pull those skeletons over to you.

This week on Episode 470 of Priority One --- We ‘Trek Out' what James McAvoy plans to do with his scent, Lower Deck's announcements, Discovery Discoveries, and what Star Trek-adjacent projects to keep an eye out for - today and in the future! In Star Trek gaming, we share with you which game developers are taking actions for a more equitable future. Of course, as always, before we wrap up the show, we'll open hailing frequencies for your incoming messages Let us know on social media like Facebook, Twitter, or by visiting our website! This Weeks Community Question Is: CQ: Who would be your choice to play a young Picard? TREK IT OUT by Jake Morgan James McAvoy Wants to be Picard If you could pick ANY actor to play young-Jean-Luc Picard, who would it be? David Tristan Birkin played a de-aged Picard in the TNG episode “Rascals” and Tom Hardy had a go at Picard's dastardly clone in the forgettable “Star Trek: Nemesis”. Corey Stoll from “House of Cards” has the look and David Tennent of “Dr. Who” has the accent. BUT - according to one Picard-hopeful, HE is the only choice. Who would that be? Young-Professor X portrayer, James McAvoy! Sitting down virtually with Late Night host Jimmy Fallon, James McAvoy responded to the question of whether or not he would consider playing a young Picard and later painted a picture with his words regarding his scent - and Sir Patrick Stewart's face. Have a look at the video below to see what we mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf1zYk8D8hc&start=179 “Lower Decks” Hypes for Release All aboard, the “Lower Decks” Hype-train is leaving the station! Star Trek's first animated series in 46 years is set to debut on August 6th, and the folks at CBS want the world to know about it. Last week, we got our first look at the trailer for the series - which we talked about in episode 469 of Priority One - and this week, we get four new screenshots - and a new recurring character announcement! On July 15th, three of the four new photos were released through fan sites like Trekmovie and Trekcore, and feature our scrappy heroes at work and at play. The fourth screenshot came on July 20th, with the exclusive Deadline announcement that “Black Monday's” Paul Scheer would play Lt. Commander Andy Billups, the chief engineer on the USS Cerritos. In the still, we see the chief engineer, a smiling middle-aged man with a mustache, poking away at an engineering console while speaking to Ensign Rutherford. In regards to Scheer, the actor-comedian isn't new to voiceover work, having done voices for Cartoon Network's “Adventure Time” and Netflix's decidedly-adult “Big Mouth”, as well as Fox's Seth McFarlane helmed “American Dad” among others. Star Trek: Discovery at Virtual Trek Con The cancellation or postponement of conventions in 2020 due to Covid-19 is a thing, but it has started a bit of a movement - the Virtual Con. This week starting on July 15, Deep Space Nine Star and 7th Rule Podcast host Cirroc Lofton spearheaded the free Virtual Trek Con - a five day “convention” that hosted stars and crew from across the Star Trek multiverse. On Sunday July 19th, Moderator Ryan Husk sat down with stars of “Star Trek: Discovery”, and though no big spoilers were dished, we did get a few interesting nuggets for the dipping. Husk was joined by Doug Jones, as well as Linus' David Benjamin Tomlinson, Siranna's Hannah Spear, and Dr. Pollard's Raven Dauda. In an exchange with David Tomlinson - who has played Klingons and Kelpians among others - Doug Jones revealed that everyone's favorite Saurian will be back for season 3. In speaking about Linus's eating habits, Tomlinson and Jones tease a little about Linus's screen time. Hannah Spear, who plays Saru's sister Siranna, MAY HAVE hinted that Siranna could return in another iteration of Star Trek - think Strange New Worlds or Section 31. The panel is just under an hour, and really highlights the love all of the people involved with Discovery share for one another. You'll also get some insight into how Siranna's character was created, Tomlinson's love of prosthetics, and how Raven Dauda would love to be the Chief Medical Officer of Discovery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kLwF1sHyKQ Trek Stars Outside of Trek It's been a while since we've had some new Star Trek. We're not complaining - really - but the final episode of Picard aired back in March and since then - nothing. Well this week saw a bunch of news cross our feed about Star Trek stars in other upcoming roles or mediums, so we figured we'd share them with you now so that you have them for, you know, the next five month drought. A new documentary featuring Nichelle Nichols' role in NASA's recruiting program - which focus on women and people of color - has struck a distribution deal with Shout! Studios. The film, titled “Woman in Motion”, will feature interviews with friends, colleagues, experts, and Star Trek stars. It's expected to release in 2021. If you're itching for something this moment, and are in the mood for a bit of a downer, HBO's documentary Showbiz Kids is out now - with stories from Wesley Crusher himself, Wil Wheaton. According to HBO's website description ”Showbiz Kids offers an unvarnished look at the high-risk, high-reward business of working as a child actor in the entertainment industry. Written and directed by former child actor Alex Winter (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, The Panama Papers), the film chronicles the shared experiences of prominent former child stars and the personal and professional price of fame and failure on a child.” Looking for something a little lighter and don't mind waiting about a week? The long-awaited “Unbelievable!!!!!” is set for it's streaming release on August 1st. The Sci-Fi comedy sports a “Team America” style marionette, Snoop Dogg - and over FORTY Star Trek alumni! To go along with the release, there will be events all day - we'll post a link in the show notes if you want to trek them out. And finally, a little casting news, Star Trek's Kelvin Spock - Zachary Quinto - has been cast in the Amazon Prime animated series “Invincible”. Based on the graphical novel of the same name, the story follows the son of Earth's greatest Superhero. As the young man begins to manifest powers, he starts his own adventures, to varying degrees of success. Quinto will play a superhero named Robot, an ally to the protagonist Mark Grayson. “Invincible” is from the same author that wrote “The Walking Dead” graphic novels, and the series is set for release at the end of 2020. So there you have it. Bookmark our show notes so you don't forget! Star Trek Gaming News by Shane Hoover and Thomas Reynolds Star Trek Timelines Event: “Sto'Vo'Kor Lost” “Who overcomes [b]y force, hath overcome but half his foe.” Of course, you've not experienced Milton until you've read the text in the original Klingon. Brush up on the classic literature of Qo'noS during Star Trek Timelines' “Sto'Vo'Kor Lost” Skirmish Event, running from July 23rd through 27th. Dr. Edward La Forge joins the Timelines lineup as this event's 5-star Ranked Reward crew, with high event bonuses coming from the new 5-star Mother L'Rell, new 4-star Groom Worf, and returning 4-star Q Junior as event crew. And what is a Skirmish Event without the armies of heaven to command: with the 2-star Klingon K'Vort Bird-of-Prey, 4-star U.S.S. Defiant, and the new 5-star IKS Negh'Var, the brazen throat of war shall never cease to roar. QAPLA'! The Continuing Mission, With Terms & Conditions By now Star Trek Timelines players have no doubt been confronted with Some Kind of In-Game Pop-up Anomaly, asking them to accept publisher Tilting Point's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. On July 17 Wicked Realms announced the switch from former owner Disruptor Beam's terms, noting that players would have to accept the terms to continue playing. The post acknowledges recent concerns with the game's Offer Wall feature, and a review of what advertising partner ironSource's SDK collects when the game is launched on Android (remember, the Offer Wall is indefinitely gone from iOS). However, any offers you-the-player accept via the Offer Wall “will take place outside of the game and outside the control of Tilting Point or ironSource, and you may be requested to share additional information on a voluntary basis to the third party managing that offer, and such information will be subject to that third party's privacy policy”. So, you know, not our circus, not our monkeys, caveat lusor, etc. etc. RETROTREK The world of Star Trek gaming is vast and varied. We want to spotlight some previously released Star Trek games. Whether to celebrate a classic, or make a new introduction, we're slingshotting around the sun for our new regular segment, RetroTrek. And now, here's Anthony with another board game about building your own crew deck. This week, we're trekking out Star Trek Deck Building Game! We'll look at the Original Series deck, the Next Generation deck, and still more Next Gen decks!

Join in as we talk about what may be one of the most impactful Star Trek episodes ever made, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine "Far Beyond the Stars". While this episode sadly remains relevant over twenty years later, we thought it timely to offer heart felt discussions, as we dissect how this episode touches a little too close to home.

Siskoid can't really grow a beard. Radio vs. the Martians' Casey Doran most definitely can, and has. Perhaps that's why he's eminently qualified to discuss beards in the Star Trek universe. Siskoid goes it alone on this one to defend Deep Space Nine's portrayal of the Bajoran Prophets, showing how non-linear beings can sometimes seem to act linearly, and discussing their greatest hits under one unified theory. Put your thinking caps on, this one gets both timey AND wimey. Listen to Episode 33 below! Or subscribe to Gimme That Star Trek on iTunes! The Rules of Acquisition: A Star Trek Deep Space Nine Podcast
A haughty Vulcan challenges the emotional Sisko to a game of baseball and we got us a shenanigans episode, y'all! But what's this about an ethnoship? Take me out, please. Secrets of Rom. A premise well deployed. Wait, not the Bad News Bears, but… was this based on an old tv show? An… ethnoship? Oh boy we're gonna talk about racism. USS Vidal Sassoon. Is it a weird message if the superior Vulcans end up overpowering the diverse non Vulcans? Buckle up! Does this episode show a different approach to the Vulcans than other Trek has embraced up until this point? Is it presumptuous for the nerds writing this show to suppose that winning a sports game isn't the most important victory? #SolokCancelled What is the nature of the truth in Kasidy and Ben Sisko's relationship? How many ways can James talk over, not listen to, or make assumptions about Wade's points? [Hi, Wade wrote these notes]. Now, what does memory alpha say about ethnoships? Is there any merit to a story that shows victory in defeat? Closing up facts: Wait. WHO is Cirroc Lofton's uncle?! Black hats. Padres and Yankees. Chekhov's Fancy Dan. Federation anthem? Manufactured triumph. Here here! Just when you think you're done… MORE ETHNOSHIP. Even if it's not analogous, is it a problem if someone reinterprets a story to make racist analogies? Got your own thoughts? Hit us up! 917 408 3898 And maybe here some more ethnoship talk on the Kickers of Elves patreon, and even better content! patreon.com/kickersofelves

You knew him as that amazing Ferengi Nog (among a bunch of amazing Ferengi) on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," and now Aron Eisenberg is the co-host of The 7th Rule, a brand new show he hosts with former DS9 co-star Cirroc Lofton on ODYSY. Aron talks with host Michael Hinman about the new show, what fans should expect, and what he hopes is the future of his interaction with not only Star Trek fans, but fans of his new podcast as well. From January 2019.
In this episode, we get into the nuts and bolts of Section 31! Bashir is just having an all-around bad day, as he becomes the focus of Deputy Director Sloan as he attempts to uncover a spy among the DS9 ranks. We give the episode the deep-dive as Section 31 emerges from the shadows!
Back to the Mirror Universe we go! When Jake is taken to the MU by the MU version of his dead mother, Sisko follows him there and becomes embroiled in the human resistance against the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. People get slapped, people make dinner, and people fly spaceships! It's all fun and games in DS9's Mirror Universe, I guess. Clay joins me to discuss the sexual dynamism of Cirroc Lofton, the serialization of the MU, and cutting the legs out of a story! Are you looking for older episodes? Shore leave is over! Discovery Debrief returns from its hiatus to bring the next part in our sub-series examining our panelists' all-time favorite STAR TREK episodes. This time, our bold panel of STAR TREK franchise explorers — Chris Clow (Movies.com, Comics on Consoles), Rachael Clow (Biology PhD candidate), Zaki Hasan (Zaki's Corner, MovieFilm Podcast), and Cicero Holmes (Spawn On Me Cast) — come together to talk about Zaki's choice: one of the single most emotionally-charged TREK episodes ever produced, "The Visitor" from season four of STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE! We take a close look at the relationship between the Sisko father and son, as well as the powerful performances turned in by series leads AVERY BROOKS and CIRROC LOFTON, as well as the terrific guest appearance from TREK veteran TONY TODD as the elder vision of Jake Sisko himself. Plus, we take a quick look at some of the biggest franchise news to transpire over the course of our hiatus, as well as announce the next episode in the Favorites series that comes from the incomparable Cicero Holmes! Remembering Cliff Bole. Star Trek is known for finding great directors and sticking with them. But few directors had as much influence over modern Star Trek as Cliff Bole. With 42 episodes to his name, Bole is responsible for some of our favorite stories. Seven of those stories were told on Deep Space Nine. Sadly, Bole passed away on February 15. In this episode of The Orb we honor his contributions to the franchise with a look at each DS9 episode that he brought to screen, as well as Bole's overall work on twentieth-century television, which was as prolific as the magic he worked in the 24th century.
