Committed to making theatre that is rigorous, ambitious and above all else, truthful. She studied Psychology and Anthropology followed by a an MSc in Medical Anthropology. Theatre-wise she trained for three years alongside the late Sam Kogan in London and Moscow. Plus Nintendo decided to have a direct and not talk about the Switch's successor. Sony bombs out with their latest games as a service, and Lionsgate debuts their 2nd flop of the summer. Meanwhile Ted Lasso is gearing up for a new season on the pitch, and Tarantino takes a phaser to his chances of directing a Star Trek.

This week Brett reviews Once Human, an MMO survival game that is a mix of Control and Death Stranding for the story. It also gains influences from The Division, Palworld, New World and many other games to make for a surprisingly compelling and engaging experience. The progression is impressive, the building is expansive, the world is fun to explore and you can jump in and out of the game with friends with no problem. We also share our first look at Concord on PS5. It's a new live service game that PlayStation is pushing. Firewalk Studios is the developer with veterans from Destiny. The game features a futuristic, 70's vibe with a variety of characters in a hero shooter that feels really high-quality but doesn't quite deliver on anything revolutionary. Will it find an audience? We'll see when the game launches in August.After playing the First Descendant, we decided to jump back into Destiny 2 and compare the two looter shooters. They have a lot of similarities but utlimately only one can win our time so find out which one we landed on in this episode.Lastly, Brett reviews a game called Humanity. It's an indie game where you guide a dog around to lead a group of people to this light in the sky. You must creatively maneuver them through the world to get to their destination. It's ok if some falloff, they'll come back. He has served in many roles over the course of MatterHackers' evolution, including customer support, sales, shipping, investor relations, hiring, software development, systems design, and management coaching. During the company's history, he has done whatever was needed to help build MatterHackers into the largest independent 3D printer reseller in the U.S.Prior to his position at MatterHackers, Lars was the CEO of Reflexive Entertainment, Inc., a company he co-founded with three partners in 1997. In addition to managing the company, he was a key member in the development of over a dozen games and a game distribution platform—the Reflexive Arcade. Reflexive Entertainment was acquired by Amazon Inc. in 2008. Over the following three years with Amazon, Lars was a senior manager running operations at Amazon's new game subsidiary—the precursor to what would ultimately become Amazon Game Studios. He also served as a Principal Engineer, assisting with the technical evaluation of several companies and products, attending senior management meetings to advise on the gaming industry, and contributing to teams building new technologies for Amazon's mobile, tablet, and Kindle businesses.

My guest today is a Canadian video game designer and director. After graduating from the University of British Columbia with an MFA in creative writing, he joined Ubisoft Montreal where he co-wrote the script for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. In 2005 he directed a sequel to that game, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and three years later released the oppressive and acclaimed sandbox shooter, Far Cry 2. In 2010 he left Ubisoft and joined LucasArts, then Valve, then Amazon Game Studios, before finally returning to Canada to work as creative director on the Ubisoft game Watch Dogs: Legion. A keen thinker on video games, my guest coined the term ‘ludonarrative dissonance' to describe when a game's story and mechanics sit at odds with one another. Y esto lo anunciaba Kim Swift, quien fuera cocreadora de Portal en Valve, la cual formará parte de la compañía como directora de la propia división de cloud gaming.  - Mike Frazzini, el jefe de Amazon Game Studios y vicepresidente de la división de juegos de Amazon, abandonará su puesto para centrarse en su familia. Entre los motivos, todos relativos a las condiciones laborales, se encuentran La Gran Renuncia, el acoso laboral o el «crunch», entre otros. Las recientes adquisiciones adquieren otro nuevo significado si añadimos esta circunstancia a la balanza: además de franquicias y bases de datos de clientes, se está adquiriendo masa trabajadora. - La política sobre NFTs adoptada por Ubisoft, el último clavo en el cisma entre la cúpula de la compañía y sus trabajadores. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Here we go again indeed. The latest leaks for the all-but-confirmed remasters of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas include their logos and achievement icons. As found by GTA Forums users alloc8or and Razed- (reported by the GTANet Twitter account), it's yet more fuel to the raging fire that is speculation around the re-releases. The logos (below) seem to confirm that each game will be subtitled "The Definitive Edition". Twitch has reportedly been hit by a huge leak after an anonymous hacker posted a torrent file containing a vast amount of data for the public to access. Twitch has confirmed that its data has been breached, but has not yet commented on the severity of the issue. "We will update the community as soon as additional information is available," reads a short Twitter statement. "Thank you for bearing with us." According to a report by VGC, the hacker posted a 125GB torrent link to 4chan on Wednesday, reportedly leaking "the entirety" of Twitch's source code along with creator payout reports from 2019, mobile, desktop and console Twitch clients, proprietary services, and even "an unreleased Steam competitor, codenamed Vapor, from Amazon Game Studios." Nintendo has announced that its next Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct broadcast will air on Friday, October 15 at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK (that's October 16 at 1am AEDT). The broadcast will be roughly 20 minutes long, and focuses on an upcoming November update for the game. That update is expected to introduce the long-awaited, fan-favourite Brewster and a coffee shop addition to the game's museum. Incidentally, Brewster's canonical birthday is on October 15. Arkane Lyon is back with a brand new game called Deathloop. We've seen a ton of it and finally got our hands on the full experience. In it, you play an assassin stuck in a time loop. You get to experiment with a series of sandbox levels using a variety of weapons, powers and more. Slowly experience the story as it unravels in a hip, 60's style game. Brett also plays Halo Infinite in the multiplayer playtest over the weekend. It has a lot of potential although it runs a bit slow on Xbox One.In the news, Nintendo has another Direct featuring N64 games and Bayonetta 3. Splitgate devs want to be the next Riot Games and Apple blocks Fortnite from the App Store until the disputes are done.We invite Jason back to the podcast to talk about speculation on Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Brett played 12 Minutes from Annapurna Interactive. It's a game where you're stuck in a timeloop but are you stuck for too long? We also play the free-to-play Splitgate which is basically Halo Meets Portal.  It's a blast to play and we talk about all you can do in the game! We also try out Tribes of Migard which features up to 10 players in a survival/tower defense game from Gearbox Publishing.In the news, Sony has a huge Playstation Showcase featuring surprise announcements from God of War Ragnarok, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and more. Discord Stiff-arms Microsoft.. For now [Link] Discord has ended acquisition talks with Microsoft! They are seeking an IPO to stay independent. As you all know, MS was wanting to by Discord for $10B Apparently MS acquired Nuance Communications Inc for $16B last week Not sure if this has anything to do with ending talks with Discord Amazon Cancels LOTR MMO [Link] Amazon's LOTR MMO announced in 2019 has now been cancelled. The game had been in development at Amazon Game Studios in a partnership with Chinese company Leyou Technologies Holdings Purchased by none other than Tencent in December The negotiations following this acquisition led to a dispute between Amazon and Tencent that lead to the game's cancellation The Amazon team working on the game will be moved to other projects Sad news for Amazon Game Studios who hasn't been able to get off the ground since 2014. Even New World has been delayed repeatedly. Resident Evil Re:Verse [Link] Another new RE title being worked on, Re:Verse, is a multiplayer team deathmatch with teams of 4-6 facing each other in 5 minute "survival horror revenge matches." Apparently, when killed, you're not out! Your body turns into a “biological superweapon” to wreak havoc on the enemy team. There is a free open beta taking place TODAY (4/21). It has been going from 2am and is running until 2am tomorrow (4/22). You just have to have a Capcom ID, which is free to sign up for, and meet the minimum specs. We return to Outriders after they patched the server issues. Things are much better technically but could still use some work. Regardless, the game is a blast to play and the story is getting interesting. People Can Fly definitely delivers in the areas that matter with this game. This month on PS Plus, Destruction: Allstars is free for all PS5 owners. It's a game that was supposed to launch with the console but got delayed due to some complications. This is a destruction derby kind of game where players select a hero and jump into cars to crash into each other and cause a lot of damage. It's a ton of fun for some of us and others aren't enjoying it as much. Since the game dropped on Early Access it has come a long way and we talk about all the great improvements they've made to get to this point and make it into a solid game worth your time with your friends.
