"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, doubting, listening to Wide Flank..."Sean and Alon are joined by three-peat guest Hayden aka Hac to dive deep into the darkness that lives eternally within us all. Nintendos Würfel feiert in diesen Wochen seinen 20.

Fulfilling a promise set in stone eons ago (it was last year in the Crimson Butterflies episode) Thomas Wilde and Will Borger return to talk about Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. This cult hit on the gamecube was the sophmore follow-up from the team that created Blood Omen (ignore that half the switched studios to make Soul Reaver), Eternal Darkness was the first M-Rated game published directly by Nintendo. It's a mind-bending, globe-trotting, time-bending tale of eldritch horror never since attempted. Is there a reason such horrors were left buried? Also this episode might as well be considered a double-feature about Silent Hill 2.00:32 - The Scream Team ReunitesWatcha Playin'02:04 - Golden Wiiklies October League08:03 - Fear the Spotlight (2024)18:23 - Straftat (2024)23:16 - The Bridge Curse 2: Extraction (2024)30:18 - Signalis (2022)Variety Minute40:14 - The Great Silent Hill 2 DebateGame of the Week1:18:35 - Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (2002)2:04:40 - Plugs and Farewells
It's spooky season once again, and we are nothing if not men of tradition. It's a two-parter this year, and first up is a game we've wanted to play for years: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. A GameCube launch window gem, this game has a still-unique sanity system that brilliantly fucks with the player, some great puzzling, a deep magic system, top voice acting and much more to recommend. All of which you'll hear in this episode. Say hi on Twitter @winnerisyoupod, rate/review/sub on your platform of choice, and we'll see you for part 2 with Silent Hill 2 (both versions)
Hey Scaredy Cats! Join us as we chat about some of our favourite horror video games. We go way back to discuss classic gems like Silent Hill 2 and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem before covering more recent scarefests like Forewarned and Phasmophobia.

Welcome back to the Kotaku Australia Podcast for Episode 35! It was Halloween when Emily and I recorded this episode, and we used it as an opportunity to talk about some of our favourite scary games, including Amnesia and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem! Meanwhile, I've been playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and I'd like to yell about how good it is for a bit. Thank you for indulging me. A bit of a sad announcement: though the show concludes with Emily and saying we'll see you next week, it turns out we won't. This is the final episode of The Kotaku Australia Podcast. Our aural experiment has come to an end -- for now. We have plans to create more video and pod content in the future, but for now, we are putting this particular project to bed. Where will be pop up next? Who knows. This feed will be come an archive of every episode of the show, and we may update it from time to time in the future when we have an interview or review we feel is podcast worthy. Thank you for listening, for watching, for reviewing, for telling your friends about our show. We're grateful and we've loved making it for you. See you round, Space Cowboy.Get all the gaming news daily on Kotaku Australia!: https://www.kotaku.com.auSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Patreon.com/RememberTheGame I wanted to sneak this one in last week, but I wasn't able to finish it in time, so consider this your Halloween Hangover episode. One more creepy game to wrap October up - Eternal Darkness for the Nintendo GameCube. This might be the weirdest fucking game I've ever played. You play as a bunch of different characters from different periods throughout history, all connected by this creepy book made of skin called The Tome of Eternal Darkness. The game revolves around solving puzzles while slowly losing your mind, and some of the "insanity" effects it tosses at you are legit fucked up. I wasn't able to finish it (I explain why on the episode), but I genuinely thought it was creative as hell. It didn't sell well back when it released and it's a bit of a collector's item now, but I think if Eternal Darkness released today, people would adore it for how far outta the box it thinks. My pal Daniel (and his dog, Tank zzz) swing by the show this week to talk about the creative excellence that is Eternal Darkness. Did I lose my mind (no pun intended) over the glitch that ruined my chance to beat the game? Have a listen and find out. And before we go crazy, I deliver another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, we get into an idea for GameStop that one listener thinks might help keep the company alive. Where the hell are the Fire Emblem reviews!?!? And what do I think of the new Blink album? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one stars the 3 expensive as fuck GameCube games: Skies of Arcadia, Fire Emblem, and Chibi-Robo! This week Dr. Syintist, Chump Slap, and Poppascotch take time out of their busy schedules to get together and talk about a hidden gem from the GameCube that told an engaging story through multiple generations while also trying to convince you that the game is broken and you are going insane. Come hither and help us continue the Spooky Season with the classic Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem!
Did you hear that? There's some weird sounds coming from the Unlocking What Was Cool's attic in this week's episode covering one of the best horror games ever made - Eternal Darkness. A cult classic that has been stranded on the GameCube since 2002, and developed by Canadian devs Silicon Knights, Eternal Darkness is one of the most frightening games you will ever play. Neil and Mike are joined by one of their favourite guests, @Toonietwirls who talks about her first memories playing this game and the fear and anxiety it brought with it's clever and incredibly innovative sanity effects. Listen and enjoy this GameCube revisit where the boys talk about the game for more than 15 minutes this time.

The next horror game we cover on our October run through scary games is one propped up by a flurry of gimmicks that all sort of worked out in Silicon Knights' favor. The right console at the right time with the right type of coverage gave birth to a gaming classic in Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. One of the few shining gems in the Gamecube library. We also discuss: NBA 2K21 Phasmophobia Genshin Impact

A podcast of empty souls and fevered thoughts, reeking of foetor and decay! MAY THE RATS EAT YOUR EYES! Thank you for joining us this week on the NOCLIP Podcast, where today we’re going to be talking about Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. This GameCube exclusive horror game once again takes its inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft, but unlike almost anything before it and even most games that came later, Eternal Darkness nails some of the lesser used themes of Weird fiction, like the madness of the protagonist, which play into the game both narratively and mechanically. Central to this game’s notoriety is the sanity meter and its associated effects, which add a meta layer to the game’s horror and are still something of a calling card for the game many years after its release. We discuss pacing in combat, the intricacies of this game’s magic system and the eldritch properties of desserts. They are unknowable. They are delicious. Thanks for listening to the podcast during our favorite month of the year (though we’ve got one more thing for you before the season’s over)! Hope you enjoyed our spooky selections, but we’re going back to our usual variety next time when we talk about What Remains of Edith Finch!
Remember to take the podcast out for Jimmy. You know how he gets. Welcome to our first proper episode of the Halloween season! Today, we’re going to be taking a look at Harvester, a ‘90s point and click adventure game that touts itself as the most vile and shocking you’ll ever play. While this may not be entirely true, Harvester does not pull its punches when it comes to being weird and transgressive, and confronts its players with scene after scene of nonsensical characters and irreverent dialogue. This proves to be the game’s charm, though, and once it stops feeling like Twin Peaks on a hallucinogen bender, it’s actually pretty funny, whether it intends to be or not. We talk about surprisingly tame adventure game puzzles, the way the game handles tone, and whether or not something is just too pink to be a real ass. Thank you for spending some quality time with us this week and keep an eye out later this month for our second, decidedly less bizarre, horror episode on Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem!
